After much consideration I settled on Rods custom to repair the damage I did to my wifes Lexus. Having grown up in Huntsville they were recognized in my group of hot rodding 17 year olds as the best shop on Huntsville. That was 41 years ago. Everyone at the shop was helpful, friendly and responsive. They did a great job of quelling my nerves by providing weekly updates as to the status of my car and the work was finished on time. I received a lifetime warranty on my repairs making the repair worry free for me since I believe this shop will be in business a long time. Before and after photos attached.

This place is awful and I do not recommend this business to anyone. I had a quote at a reasonably price and scheduled my actual appointment to take my car in. Upon arrival to the actual appointment, they did not have me in the schedule for the day, despite the fact that they told me to come in on that day in the first place. They said theyd need to charge me extra for not being on the schedule, but I did eventually get them to waive that charge. We took a look at my car again, and the guy had the quote in hand. I wanted to make sure the price had not changed, so I asked about it, and lo and behold, the quote somehow tripled in price. I told him that thats not right and he said that this is what the quote was last time for me as well. Unfortunately for him, I had the original quote on hand, so I showed it to him and he says, how do I know you didnt forget that document? Uh, what? What profesional business asks that question when it was literally on their own letter head with his own signature on it. He kept trying to get me to pay the tripled price, but I said no thank you, got in my car, took it elsewhere, and got quoted a lower price than my original quote from this unprofessional business. Moral of the story, pricing here is a joke and you can get more quality work for a lower price literally anywhere else.Edit to respond to the businesss response:I do not have the wrong place. I remember very vividly this awful experience and Im not the only who has has posted a review on the same matters at hand, nor am I the only one who has had these things to say about this business from word of mouth. Perhaps the other Rods in Southern Huntsville is different with better service, but the one off of University will not be getting my business nor the business of friends or family. It is what it is.

I was involved in an accident several years back in my Hyundai Tiburon, I went in with some driver side rear damage, the rest of the vehicle was in perfect condition, it was a 3 year old car at the time. I went to pick the car up and my headlights had been scratched up like they had been replaced with an older pair. I confronted them about it and was told it was just normal wear and tear, but I had pictures a few weeks before the body repair and the headlights were in perfect condition. I will never use this company again after that situation.

Amazing work! They replaced the headliner in my car in one day. It looks brand new! They took 50$ off the original price. These folks are amazing!

If I could give ten stars, I would. You dont come across many businesses like this in Huntsville. Absolutely a pleasure to talk and do business with these people.I hit a deer in a custom colored corvette. Not only did they match the paint amazingly well, but they waxed it and took care of other details too. They had the car in and out VERY quickly. It was everything and more than I could have expected. I will be recommending them to anyone else I talk to!

I took my daughters BMW 318is right side door panels to have them reupholstered at Rods Custom in Huntsville Alabama. She was coming home for the weekend and they guaranteed that they would have them ready to install by Friday, the day she was coming home. On Wednesday, I called to find out how they were coming along on the door cards. The person at the desk informed that the person that took my order (the shop manager) was gone for the week and connected me with the upholstery shop. The person that answered the phone at the upholstery shop told me that the y had no visibility on my order and would have to find the panels. After I told them of the criticality of the order, they said that they would have them ready by Friday. When I went to pick them up, the charged me $385 for the work saying that they had to charge me an expedite fee. Now, two years later, the upholstery is peeling off of the door cards and the handle fell off. Absolutely the worst experience that Ive had from any shop in the area.

I had a very good Halloween 2020. I was a little too happy to go celebrate and scraped my garage door house. I went by Rods to get an estimate to remove paint and repair some scratches. Rods Custom Body Shop provided me courtesy service of removing the paint which revealed very subtle scratches that dont need repair. I am so grateful for the courtesy service that they showed during the coronavirus pandemic. Buyer Beware!!! They painted the right rear 1/4 panel and it ended up cracking and looking bad this was a custom 1969 Chevelle SS 396 triple black Imron, they NEVER made it right, I would like to rate it with no stars but that is not an option.

They replaced a convertible top for me. It wasnt cheap but it was done very well and looks like new. If you want top-notch professional work (and are ready to pay for it...lol), this is the place to go. Highly recommend this place for anything cosmetic on any vehicle.

In 1995, my boss at the time recommended his cousins company to fix my car. A lady accidentally smashed my bumper. Her insurance company State Farm Representative called me asking for my credit card. I believe his name was Jim. I told him I didn’t have one to spare. He wanted me to pay for my own rental when the lady’s insurance covered it for a few days. I was without a car due to Jim not helping me and the owner of Rods gave me a loaner to use. I was told a brand new bumber was ordered and my car would be ready within a week. Jim with State Farm refused to give me a check to take to Rods. He said he would pay him personally. When I went to pick up my car, the same smashed bumper with red color markings was still on my green bumper. I looked it and told the owner that it’s is not a new bumper. I guess he thought I was dumb and would never notice. I asked for my new bumper and what happened. Why wasn’t it replaced. He said it would be another week and I said no. I worked one full time job and two other part time jobs. Then I cried and had to leave. At that moment, Jim showed up and I saw them splitting the $300.00 that was supposed to have paid for a new bumper and installation. I was sick when I saw them laughing. I went to the auto body guy and he said the owner told him to fix my old bumper and polish it up. I said “What” ?!? He said he was just doing what he was told. I never got the new bumper fixed or a check from State Farm. I know it’s been twenty-four years but that event still lays heavy on my heart and I Never got an apology. I guess if they want to be crooked and treat hard working people badly, it’s on them.

They did a great job on my car after my accident. It took a little longer than originally estimated but the extra time was worth the finished product. The staff is very professional, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend them for body work.

Definitely recommend Rods for any type of body work. We had my wifes vehicle repaired there and the customer service was incredible. From the receptionist to our personal rep everyone was very down to earth and very accommodating. Kane, our rep, was great from the start. He always called me with detailed information of what the status of the car was and was always a man of his word. I highly recommend him if you have a preference for who to work with. My car got hit while I was grocery shopping and I was worried my car would never look the same again. My step dad referred me to Rods Customs and you cant even tell anything ever happened to it . The paint matched up perfectly. They also made sure my car was clean inside and out which I thought was above and beyond service. Short Version:::Kane and his crew are considerate, kind, informative, thorough, honest, accommodating, and genuinely care. I highly recommend him and wouldnt take my car anywhere else.I can not express how grateful and happy with Rods Custom Body, specifically Kane, l am. I had a terrible accident out of state with extensive damage in March. At the time l had no choice but to allow whatever body shop my insurance chose to do the repairs. After 8 weeks of not having my van, traveling 20+ hrs round trip to get my vehicle back, it was returned to me with several imperfections, a crooked door, additional damage incurred from the body shop when test driving, and lack of attention to detail.Id met with Kane several months back to address my car making a strange noise. After researching several shops in the area, l chose Kane bc he has an impeccable reputation. So once l got back to Alabama with my car, l went straight to him and asked him if he could help me. I was supposed to be relocating the first week of June but could no longer due to my vehicle still needing work and damage control from the previous shop. He informed me that he was completely booked until the end of July-August time frame, but assured me that he was going to make this right for me, and he did. He and his crew are amazing and strive to make their customers happy and give them the best experience possible considering the circumstances. Rods replaced a headliner in my 07 Porsche Cayman that was falling down. The results were better than I could have hoped for. They matched the material and color, did it in one day and put everything back together perfectly.

Rods fixed our jeep after I wrecked it. They did all the insurance company coordination, coordinated the rental car, and fixed the jeep like new. All I did was pay the deductible. The staff is very professional and kept me informed throughout.

The work they do is great but they took forever to complete it. Also, only certain people do estimates for insurance so it takes about 30-45 minutes for an estimate. Well, at least that is what they told me when I got there.

I did not have the best experience with this place. First of all, I had sagging fabric on the roof of my truck, and had to get it re-glued. So I took dropped it off and had it done. The first time it was done, the fabric had fallen back down, and the owner said he could get it re-glued. This part didnt bother me too much, as I am sure glue can be finicky to work with, given the weather and whatnot. So I dropped it off a second time, and the procedure worked. However, a screwdriver and a razor blade had been left in my truck from the previous repair, which I found to be quite sloppy. Also, when I went to adjust my rear view mirror, it completely fell off. I assume they may have had to take it off when they re-glued my roof, and they had to glue it back on. I wish they told me this, so I could avoid touching it while the glue settled. So I got them to re-glue it for me, and I was told to wait a couple of hours for the glue to harden. Also, they left ANOTHER razor blade in my truck, which isnt the safest thing to be doing. Anyways, I adjusted my mirror again 2 hours later, and it fell off AGAIN. I then decided to do the procedure myself, and I went out and bought a kit from autozone. I waited a full 24 hours for the glue to cure before adjusting the mirror. This lasted about a year before it fell off again, and I had A+ auto glass re glue it (they did a fantastic job).Anyways, I will still give this place a 3/5 because their procedure did work, and they at least attempted to fix the other problems for free. However they were a bit sloppy, and I have the feeling they dont do procedures like mine too often. If you are getting full blown upholstery done (not just re-gluing), or body work, Im sure this place is fine. However, for anything else, they tend to be a bit careless and rushed.

I chose Rods Custom Body Shop, Inc. to repaint my BMW’s hood and I couldn’t be more happy with the result. Top notch customer service thru the whole process, great communication with regular updates, and superb quality work!They ran into an unexpected issue out of their control but worked thru it and honored their quote.I highly recommend using them if you have a need!

My husband carried my car to Rods today looking to get an estimate on some cosmetic repair to the bumper. Kane quoted him a dollar amount to repair the damage. After further examining my car, Kane told my husband he had an alternative solution that he was willing to try, and he thought would fix the issue with my car. Long story short, the alternative solution worked, and my car looks brand new! Had my Ford Ranger repaired here on 8-28-18 and they did a fantastic job on it. I was a little picky about how it came out at first but Jacob and Kain did a great job making it right for me. Very happy with the results and would recommend them to anyone I know.

My wife scraped the whole passenger side of her little 2008 civic pulling into our garage.Took it to Rods on a referral and I can say it was the best choice for us.They set up a date to drop the car off on Monday, put us in an enterprise rental and promised the car back to us Friday. I though no way.They called us Thursday to let us know the car was being cleaned up and could come get it any time on Friday. Car was the cleanest its ever been.The office personal were professional and polite.The work was dead on perfect. There is no doubt if they could fix my garage I would let them do that too!!!!!!!

Someone backed into me about a week ago, and cracked my headlight, and messed up my front bumper. Allstate referred me to Rods and from the first call I was very impressed. I spoke to Jarred who handled the Allstate insurance claim, and let me tell you, HE WAS AMAZING! I dropped my car off Tuesday morning, and he let me know all the details and what they would be doing, and about how long it would take to fix it. He called me whenever something new was done with the car, and kept me informed about everything. When I brought my car in, my air wasnt working due to a prior incident, and they actually fixed it for me, free of charge. Everyone there was so nice, and extremely helpful. It was my first accident and they were so incredibly helpful, with everything! I dropped my car off Tuesday, and had my car back by Friday afternoon. Great people, great service, all around great experience! I am 100% satisfied with the service, and how my car looks and runs!

The “Repair” on my vehicle was a joke my brand new hood had huge uneven gaps where it doesn’t close right and I took it back and Kane said he wouldn’t dare say there was another of the same vehicle with a better gap but that’s not true before it was perfect and I know people with the same vehicle and there’s is perfect. Painted my door but put taped around the beat up and old side moldings it could have easily been removed now paint is chipping from around the edges. They scratched my window tint and didn’t say anything about it, and the license plate lights and harness on my new bumper burned out first week. There are too many problems with my vehicles “repair” to mention and my vehicle took almost 2 months to get back which is very unacceptable I showed Rods Customs that I was unhappy with their work and the staff was very rude towards me and said “That’s the best we can do, we have small fender jobs we’d rather be doing anyways!” I since then had to go to another body shop to fix what Rods Customs didn’t do right, sad thing about it is I used to tell people to go to Rods Customs because I heard they were good but after they did a bad job on my vehicle I will tell others to stay away from Rods Customs and try somewhere else.

This place did awesome with repairing my Honda Pilot! Kane was was absolutely awesome and kept me in the loop with repairs and time lines. I was extremely satisfied with the end result and HIGHLY recommend them for repair work!

Ive used dealership body shops in the past and was not happy with the results. Recently, a deer ran into my truck (seriously), and caused some damage to the front and left side of my Silverado. I had heard about the how great Rods Custom Body Shop was, so I took my truck to them. What a wonderful job! Everything was fully explained to me so that I knew what to expect. To me, it was like having concierge service. They kept me informed on how it was going throughout the process, explained in detail what had to be done, and cleaned it thoroughly after the repair! Im talking about black crud between the cab and bed (truck is parked under a tree) that I never could reach - gone now. I am SO impressed and just wanted to share with others. This will be my body shop from now on. Hopefully, I wont need them that much though - if the cows and deer will say off the roads....

My car bumper screw/clips was out and covers was losen. I asked them to help me to put them back. They fixed it within 10 min and it is totally free. Im so impressed by their excellent service. Was in a fender bender in Oct 2019. Got hit from behind while stopped at a red light in Madison. Minor damage, but the trailer hitch took the brunt of the damage. Rods had my car for two days. Repaired the hitch, rear bumper and bed cover. Looks greats and functions wells.

The absolute best to work with.

My minor collision required a door skin replacement. Paint matching was superior and blended right into to the adjacent panels. Door is well aligned and the whole project is a good as new. Time to complete the job was extended slightly but only due to awaiting parts, nothing to hold against Rods. Phone calls and messages with updates kept me aware throughout the process. Highly recommend and will return for any future work should the need arise. Warranty is a nice plus.

Ive had five body repair jobs done at Rods on Lexus cars. The cars have come back absolutely like new. These were not huge jobs: typically a bumper, bumper mount and absorber, and, in some cases, some sheet metal such as a fender, hood, or trunk. On Lexus, Rods insists on OEM replacement parts. For me so far, Rods has been perfect.

Could not be happier with how my car turned out and the timeliness. My insurance company dragged out the estimate approval for over a week and a half and Kane Batt was able to get my car done in 3 days instead of 4 after the estimate was approved. Some of the best customer service I have ever received. Please consider Rods Custom for all of your collision repair needs.

Good work at reasonable prices. I have had two different cars with sunroof problems. Both were fixed in one day, and right the first time! I went by for a look and estimate and dropped the car off before they opened the next morning using the key drop.

I had my front leather seats and arm rest reupholstered and back seats dyed for my 2009 Lexus IS250 due to years of wear and tear by my furbabies. Lynns team at Rods did a wonderful job....my car looks brand new! Not only did they do a great job, but they were very accommodating when a staffing issue caused a delay in the job. They paid for a rental car and were very apologetic about the delay, through no fault of their own. Very friendly staff, and Lynn was great to deal with in always keeping me up-to-date on the progress of the job. I highly recommend them.

They let me in to grab some stuff from my wrecked truck. That was pretty much my only interactions with them.

MOST UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICES EVER! I’m not speaking about the company as a whole, however, Lance at the university location must know that the flu shouldn’t stop a business from running! We talked prior about plans for the car, what’s to be done, when to pick it up, but he obviously failed to communicate that with the receptionist and other workers because the poor baby was sick. Long story short, we called to check on the car but nobody even knows what’s going on so they had Lance call us. Flu must be really bad this year cause he seemed to be experiencing amnesia with it. Yet somehow he still managed to argue us about what he originally told us and THEN got mad and told us to come get the car back!!! Lmao like who says that?! This flu crazy y’all. So we found somebody who provided a great service $300 less than the pricing they gave us at Rods

I had upholstery work done by Lynn and his crew, I am very satisfied with the workmanship and the cost, and the staff I interacted with were polite. As pleasurable as any collision repair service could ever be. Kane was very personable, and conscientious about making sure he spent time with me when I dropped it off and again when taking deliver after. That being said, I hope I never have to see him again (at his shop anyway).My experience:Tapped a wall with RR of the bumper on my 16 Lexus GS-F. Originally, Kane thinking it could be filled, sanded and painted, submitted to insurance for that. When the technician removed the bumper he noticed the bumper tabs were damaged and would prevent the bumper from ever seating properly again. Kane revised the estimate to include a new bumper and handled the claim with insurance. I believe that the technicians attention-to-detail prevented wasted materials and time, as well as any delays in delivery to me due to fitment issues had they mistakenly chosen to repair the old bumper. I will be taking my other vehicle to them for some interior work

Kane is the reason Rods Customs is the leader in Huntsville. This kid has outstanding customer service needed to deal with customers. He needs to train some of the older folks there.

I dropped my friend off to pick up his car that he had worked on there and he was happy with it

I took my boat in to have a cover made for the stern end. Before i took it in, it had just been detailed and was spotless. The upholstery was to take 2 days but turned into 3 weeks. When i picked it up, it was filthy inside and the trailer had been hit by something with blue paint. I could see the plier marks where they tried to straighten it out. The only positive thing i can say is the cover was done well but paying over 700.00 to have it made, then having to pay another 200.00 to someone to detail it again did not make me happy. The trailer i have not had repaired yet. I am disappointed in Rods for the care they gave my boat.

Rods customs is a great Collison repair and custom shop! I have been going to them since 1998 and have not had one bad experience. Went there today to get my wifes new murrano touched up and still no let downs. I had to take my truck they worked on about 4 years ago to buff out the paint, looks phenomenal and stood by their warranty. If you need anything done stop by and see Mr. Kane Batt. They fixed my brand new UNCOMFORTABLE Ford F-150 seat. They reupholstered it and it is now the way Ford should have build it in the first place.

I brought in a 88 Mustang GT convertible for a replacement top. No leaks before I brought it in but after the top was installed water poured in from where the top meets the windshield. Work performed is typically half-assed and overpriced.
