I give Orange and White Taxi one star. This due too circumstances surrounding unfair charges for services rendered. This eventful situation occurred on Saturday July 10, 2021 at approximately 1pm. I was heading on a bus towards a job interview and got of at wrong stop location. Looking at the time and decided to take a taxi with above referenced ride provider. I realized I had certain amount of provisions for a seven minute ride towards my desired interview destination due too time constraints. I called dispatcher and asked for a price quote from my present local area towards my interview several blocks in opposite direction. My mistake was disclosing my money I had on hand for the ride before he gave me a quote but I estimated correctly from my present location in front of Toyota dealership in Huntington NY. My desired destination is the next neighboring town of Commack NY. I choose Orange and White Taxi because they service the neighboring cities of Huntington, Commack, Deer Park all cities in close proximity of each other. I had Ten dollars and change on hand. The dispatcher quoted me nine for the trip. As everyone should know dispatchers are very familiar with the location logistics which correlate with fare pricing for those services rendered. I understand everyone can make mistakes from time to time but a quote is a binding agreement likened too a written especially when your in in route towards your desired destination location. Dispatchers cannot be influenced by what the drivers state the fare should be in terms of payment. Thats likened too making decisions without the authorization of your superiors knowledge. So the driver refused to take me and stopped short of my intended destination. I demanded the driver to speak with dispatcher and he refused so I took the liberties by calling while stationery near Huntington DMV. I then requesting a receipt for the fare he obtained stopping me short of my destination for future reporting purposes. He refused and asked me too exist his vehicle. Realizing my local area I did and explained the circumstance of events with the dispatcher and was yelled at when I informed him that the authorities would be notified of this injustice. Firstly when quoted any price for services rendered its considered law. Specially when traveling in a rider vehicle in route too a destination. Secondly Dispatchers have authoritative control over fares that is not delegated towards drivers. Lastly your word is bonding. Very disenchanted at circumstances when some who seem too think they have the license too treat others disrespectful because of power and positioning in societal spaces. And whenever you reach out towards those who can hold perpetrators responsible they lax in handling issues towards reversing these inequities. Sorry too say we havent advanced from my generational efforts standpoint in equalizing the rights of segment communities especially those of color.

HORRIBLE!....NO SATURDAY OR SUNDAY SERVICE! CARS REEK OF CIGARETTES! PROFESSIONALISM VERY UNBECOMING! AND YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO CHARGE EXTRA FOR HAVING MORE THAN ONE PASSENGER.

Terrible service, avoid at all costs. Nobody answers the phone, no set pricing, every car is up for grabs and they’ll pack as many people as they can into it. I requested a car, dispatch told me 15 mins, I waited 30. Then they added someone to my car who had just walked up, dropped them off first which was 20 mins in the other direction. Ended up taking me over an hour to get from Huntington to East Northport. Still charged me full fare. Do yourself a favor and use Lyft or Uber!

Won’t quote prices over the phone, must negotiate with driver when he arrives, (and prices were ridiculous.) extremely rude dispatchers, avoid at all costs.

AWFUL! Don’t bother with this company. Even though they’re literally connected to Huntington train station they don’t provide any service. Makes no sense given that uber and Lyft are options and they don’t even bother to try to compete. WASTE OF TIME. INCOMPETENT.

Great experience! I needed someone to pick up my young daughter and was nervous. The office staff was so understanding and they sent her a very nice driver who she felt comfortable with. Reasonable price for the ride too! Good to know there is a company on the island that I can trust, especially with everything you hear nowadays with Uber drivers endangering the people they pick up. I highly recommend this company!

I needed a ride to the airport and my Uber never showed, never called, and they STILL took a fee from my credit card! I called these guys last minute and had a great experience. Timely service, the guy got me to the airport on time. I will continue to give them my business.

So glad there is still a good, reliable local cab service still available in the area. I fell for the whole Uber thing, but never again. Once was enough for me. I ordered an uber on the app, the car never showed but yet they still charged my card (I will be disputing that). I ended up calling Orange and White and within just a few minutes my car arrived. I dont understand all the hype about uber/lyft, etc, they suck in my opinion.

Yesterday I used this company when my uber not only didnt show, but still charged my credit card. Car showed up promptly, was super clean, and the driver was very pleasant. I will be using this company from now on, I do not trust uber.

Most lackadaisical driver Ive ever had the displeasure of riding with, obviously no knowledge of the area or just pays no attention. After blowing by me on the curb at the address I was to be picked up at the driver takes a leisurely pace making a U-Turn in parking lot down the block... Finally underway we almost made it up to the speed limit a few times with little to no traffic in front of us arriving at the station as the train I was intending to take closed its doors and left the station.

I finally got a job and it was my first day I showed up to their stand a half hour before I was scheduled to be at work 1 driver told me he was off duty and could not take me. THE 2ND driver told me that he wasnt On Duty yet The 3rd driver was the best he actually told me he had a doctors appointment and the 4th driver told me he wasnt going in that direction These guys dont even deserve to be in business I could ride people on a bicycle and get a better customer repor DO NOT USE THEM JUST TAKE THE BUS

Car drove past house which happens but then beeped at wrong house and almost left by time we reached him. Car stunk of cigarettes and driver was hacking up a lung and his driving left allot to be desired. Will be calling another company for a ride home

THE WORST THE WORST THE WORST. I ordered a cab a hour before I had to go to the train and they were late. The amazing customer service (sense my sarcasm) told me I had 25 minutes to get to the train -that’s none of your business how long I have to get to the train station. You provide a service and don’t service. I hope no one uses you ever again.

I was on time. I told them the street name and town I was going to. Thats all it takes to get a good cab ride. I never have a bad experience with cab drivers aka Im straight.

Horrific prices that vary regularly. I was charged 21 dollars for 12 dollar trip. Truthfully sad, I use to take them daily and pay a small upcharge for a decent ride. Now it seems their in desperation for extra cash.. Uber will be getting my services from now on.

The dispatcher seemed a bit sketchy when I called for a cab, because he never asked for any details besides my location, but my cab was on time and charged me $8 less than the taxi place I called before. So, Id say my first experience was pretty great, also this was late Saturday night. Oh one more thing, the cab looked and smelled very clean!! Nice town cars... drivers have town permits and go through medical tests finger prints backround checks...Good service. You cant trust Uber read the terms and conditions you are waiving your rights. Take the local taxi.

I came home on the LIRR tonight, in the pouring rain. To my surprise, there were no cabs waiting. It was only 8 pm. I waited 20 minutes before calling to ask for one. I was told that someone was coming any minute. So I waited another 20 minutes in the rain, all alone at the station for a cab that never came. I downloaded a Lyft app and got a car in literally 3 minutes. Never depending on such liars again.

I would give this Taxi zero stars if I could. DO NOT USE THIS TAXI IF YOU WANT TO CATCH A TRAIN ON TIME. I called for a cab for the 4:38 train. They picked me up at 4:20. We had 18 minutes to get there and are less than ten minutes from the station. The driver stopped to pick someone else up and drove very slowly not even caring that we missed my train. There was no traffic. He just didnt care. I told the dispatcher. They did not even listen and did nothing. I was also charged $15 for the ride where other taxis have charged $7 for a shared cab.

Negative 5 stars. Do not use this company. They are unreliable and not punctual. I was promised a cab at 3:15 to get me to train station by 3:34. Cab arrived at 3:30 and now Im stuck having to pay $41.00 in order to get me to work on time. Whatever you do, do not rely on orange and white to get you where you need to go.

This is the worst taxi cab service I have ever dealt with. I requested a cab and was told 5-20 mins. I called after thirty minutes and was told I was going to be the next pick up. Thirty minutes later I call again (an hour after my initial request) and I was told there was no one available for me. I find it extremely frustrating that I was repeatedly lied to and when I questioned why I hadnt been notified that there had been no cab available and I waited an hour for no reason I was greeted with great hostility. Do not under any circumstances use this taxi service!

The absolute worst. Had a very very bad experience with my elderly mother several months ago. Meant to write about it sooner. These are the rudest nastiest dispatchers I have ever encountered. They are not only a rippoff but highly unreliable. Steer clear. My poor elderly mother was stranded at Huntington Hospital Emergency room and thank god I found a decent cab company to pick her up. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a cab company. Awful Awful Awful

Im not a current customer but I do share the road with these terrible drivers. Too often have I been cut off or come to a near colision from their aggressive drivers. Never use their blinks and speed like maniacs. When I used to used o&w they were always rude and overpriced. Im glad I drive now but if need a cab Id go with Uber or Lyft.

Cabs take forever to come and their excuse is we are very busy. Why dont they just say from the beginning that it might take a hour so do you want to wait or not.

Absolutely unacceptable. Was told by a female on the phone that the cab wild be about 10-15 mins to arrive. It took 45 mins for the cab to come which had a full back seat of other passengers going to the same location. Had a train to catch which I missed and was on the way to the airport. No point bothering to utilize a cab service that is not punctual or mindful that its paying customers have destinations that require timely arrival. Awful business and service.

Despite all the bad reviews, I had a fine experience with Orange and White taxi. Driver was 6 minutes late, but I anticipated that based on the other reviews here. Friendly driver. I would use again. Not much choice anyway. Give yourself some extra time and its ok.

If I could give them no starts I would. I called at 10:20pm before I got out of work. The person I spoke to told me 10 minutes. When I got out of work I looked at the time it was 10:30. At 10:55 I called and told the person that I was told 10 minutes. Thee man I spoke with had a horrible attitude and spoke to me like his job didn’t count on it. I was trying to explain to him that you shouldn’t tell me 10 minutes and I’m waiting alone in the dark for 30 minutes for a cab. He responded with “its an estimated time “ I’ve been waiting here for 6 hours” ? Like how dare you speak to me that way and then hang up. After calling my boyfriend crying because I was so shocked someone would speak to a paying customer like that I decided to cancel despite the guy speaking to me like trash I wanted to be nice and call back to let him know. I got through half my sentence all I said was “hi I just spoke with you and I wanna cancel...” he rudely dismissed me and said some snarky comment and hung up on me again. I never use taxi because of this problem. The ride would have costed me 20 dollars for a ten minutes ride. Uber would have been half that. But I got a new card that didn’t come yet so I had to call for a taxi. Tlhis is why I only use uber. No customer should ever be treated like this. Do yourself a favor and download uber. It’s far cheaper and the drivers are nice.

Im not sure what everyone is complaining about. Theyre just regular New York taxi drivers. They drive fast and safe. My only complaint is they dont use gps, but my driver new where he was going when I gave him the addy.

If I could give negative stars I would. Unsafe, unprofessional, dirty and most if not all the drivers have criminal records. Worst cab company ever. Thank goodness for Uber.

The dispatcher is pretty dope. His name is JoeKa94 on Xbox. He’s chill, plays Fortnite and stuff like that. They unfortunately could not send a cab to Michigan so that’s why the 4 star rather than a 5. But yeah, if you’re lucky enough to have Joey as a dispatcher, you’re in good hands. ❤️ (He’s singleeeeeee)

The drivers are a menace to society; speed limits and stop signs arent merely suggestions to them - theyre DARES. They are piggish, incompetent psychopaths, likely all with criminal records. The cabs are rickety death traps, filled with garbage and reek of cigarettes. You might share the cab with three other strangers, but youre still paying full fare to your destination as if you were alone. Do not patronize them. The entire operation should be nuked from space - its the only way to be sure. Negative stars.

Never ever call this taxi service. They suck. They will tell you the cab will be there in 10-15 minutes to arrive to get the customer. But they will never show up before 45-60 mins (if they ever shows up). I had horrible service with them 2-3 times in different time of the day. Atleast other taxi services are honest . They let you know about the approx. waiting time.

Rude af and definitely do coke. Waited an hour for a cab and when I politely asked if they could please call me when theyre outside I get yelled at.....I coulda walked to my destination in 30 mins but waited an hour in the cold and twice as much as uber. Waaaay over priced. $18 round trip for a less than 1/4 of a mile run. Alot of these drivers are on crack or powder cocaine. What a shame. They have gotten too big for their britches. Shame on them. What a cryin shame. I have heard these stories about the cabbies and their superiors multiple times over a course of the past 25 yrs.

I am reluctantly giving the one star as a temporary measure to express my outrage at being rudely ignored and denied service that left me stranded alone at 2AM without gas by a person that displayed a complete inability to understand that it his failure to recognize that it takes more than genitals to be recognized as a man instead if just male...and women, especially mature women in situations do not feel confident in the competence of a male who fails to understand what behavior is necessary to calm and protect a woman...even when she explicitly instructs him. This driver has also failed to understand that his deliberate and hostile response to point out that he is going north and ignored my firm and clearly expressed desire to correct this bizarre behavior which once again provoked an even stronger reaction to the absolute indifference that expressed his decision to stare at the giant computer that may not comply with the standards of orange and white or the medallion standards and fail to make a left turn not once but rwice....so now I am dealing with a male unprofessional making me very angry because I have used orange and white for forty years and have two good friends that have also been diminished by association...I am going to file a formal complaint against this driver that will include my demand that swift and firm corrective action which will include documentation of his reciept and acknowledgement that he has reviewed and understands the policies and procedures required by the company....with particular attention to areas that he needs to work on...the abandoning...with prejudice...of a middleaged woman at 2 AM is not acceptable. He needs to apologize..to his coworkers and employers and to me...an incident report should be provided to the owner of his medallion...I also want to point out that after I was left in the dust I immediately called the dispatcher and requested another cab...I was told it would be about 45 minutes that there was only one driver because two were on vacation...sincerely? Pass the toilet paper please...I admire the spirit of trying to defend a coworker, but what was not a defence...it was a lie meant to penalize a loyal customer that has used this company for forty years...once again providing a clear misunderstanding of my need to vent my rage and humiliation...if I scream loud and long enough perhaps someone will take notice and recognize that I am a firm believer in the saying that it is better to get pissed off than pissed on...are you understanding that I will tell everyone I can...that the other company that provided me with service got a detailed description of my experience and they were very interested and encouraged me to call them and make sure that I recieve better treatment...Im sure they will not forget me...and neither will orange and white...I want to say that this complaint should not reflect upon the much appreciated professionalism that has been expected and received these many years and I hope this unfortunate event will prompt the appropriate expression of absolute ridicule and humiliation that will deservedly accompany the establishment of the new low man on the totem pole...make it hurt.

I give them a 3 because one time the driver tried to charge me $15.00 for a 3.4mile ride (6-7 minutes from across the water to the other side. And I usually pay $10.50 to get all the way to Huntington Station which is more like 8 miles and 12 minute ride. I complained and they made it $10.50 but still I know they were scamming me because the driver before said they do a minimum of $6 rides and thats exactly what it shouldve been. I understand its a rich area with a lot of huge houses some in the millions but I dont have that kind of money and that doesnt mean you overcharge just because you think they have money.I do give them a great applause on being on time to pick you up (long as there are drivers). They get there in 5 minutes sometimes no matter where you are. I still take them only because Islandwide took their last straw with me when they drove off before I got in the cab. Take this company, just know how much you should be paying.

Ordered a taxi for non english speaking relatives visiting us twice this week,not only did they arrive 1/2 hour late, but they picked up other people without telling me that is what they are doing,cars were old pieces of junk and in general a terrible rude attitude.not cheap either .THANK GOD FOR UBER

I have to use this Taxi Service every weekday to get to work from the train station (I live in NYC and commute out here for work and LIRR is a much more relaxing trip than rushhour morning traffic). There are a number of bad reviews on here for them and Im sure theyre legitimate but I do want to say that my experience has been pretty great. I mainly deal with two drivers, Eric and Tim, since Im a Regular and they always are extremely nice and get me to work with no problem. Ive ridden with one or two other drivers that havent been the nicest or havent looked like Town Car drivers but this isnt a high end cab service. I mean it IS in a low income area of LI (even though the actual town of Huntington is filthy rich, Huntington Station has some less desirable areas).The cars also wont be put in car shows any time soon but they arent too bad and the seats are pretty comfortable.From my personal experience, this isa decent cab service Ive taken (I went to school in Baltimore and those were MUCH worse for the four years I was there). Dont expect refreshments and men in ties and shirts, but some of the drivers are very polite and treat customers very well.

Ordered a taxi service to pick me up to take me to the train the next morning. The taxi didnt show and I called the company, no one answered. I ordered an uber and meanwhile the taxi showed up 10 mins late. When I told the driver I no longer needed his services, he drove off yelling at me. Never use.

Spent 35 minutes waiting to then have to call them and have them say that have no taxis on a Sunday evening and I had to miss my train on my way home from a funeral gathering for a family member. Awful service and no regard for even telling their customers that there will be a wait or they have no taxis. They make you wait and think you have a ride when you actually dont.

Most unreliable taxi service. We were left without anyone showing up at the airport at 11:30pm even after reconfirming it 3 hours before our arrival. Would never recommend to anyone.
