What a great bunch of professionals. Hector and company did an amazing job restoring my boat interior. Every piece was made from scratch. The pictures just do not do the work justice. Thanks again for all of the hard work!!!

I brought in my 72 MGB to have a new soft-top installed. Id purchased a new top-frame and soft-top beforehand to make sure it was correct as there are a few options for my car. These guys were twice as expensive as 2 other quotes but I went there anyway because someone had referred me and I assumed theyd do a good job. They installed the top so misaligned that the passenger door will not open because the top is hanging so far over the window (its meant to fit neatly inside the window with a rain gutter sitting above the window.)They said nothing about it when I picked it up until I mentioned it didnt look straight, they said it was probably my frame. I only noticed how misaligned it was when I had a proper look at home. I brought it back in for them to diagnose today and all I was met with were excuses that my car, the top and my top-frame were the issue. That their only job was to wrap the soft-top over the frame and connect it to the header. My car is 50 years old, so it may be the case that there is some misalignment, but the top-frame and top are brand new. I asked why they didnt call me once they noticed how wrong it was, so we could work out how to make it right. Because right now it is unusable. They said its not their problem. I asked if they think returning the car to a customer when they cannot use the passenger side door was acceptable, again, wasnt their fault, they did their job fine apparently. So you can imagine the attention to detail these guys have.I was speaking politely with Hector Sr. about the issues with the job when Hector Jr. came out all guns blazing with his mask pulled down. I asked him to pull his mask up and step back a bit, and he said Oh youre really paranoid huh? Again, an eye into the person Im dealing with. We went round in circles for 15 mins, trying to explain that although I paid them to install the soft-top, it has not been done correctly. Hector Jr. kept insisting it was my car and top-frames fault, and how was he supposed to know. He couldnt answer me why he didnt notice how far off the alignment was once finished and call me to make it right. If hed noticed the poor job, we could have made arrangements to alter the frame so it fits the car better.Hector Jr. suggested that my feelings were hurt because he didnt call me, and that I needed a hug. When I spoke about how much money everything was costing and that it should be done right, he said youre just like my wife, always bringing up prices of things. I dont envy his wife having to deal with his passive-aggressive, argumentative nature. It seems he thinks highly of her, making fun of her to try and bring me down. At this stage I think Hector Jr. is embarrassed about the poor job theyve done and has become defensive about his attention to detail. He kept saying i wasnt listening, and that I was twisting words to try and get the answer I wanted. The answer to the question I kept asking how do we do this correctly?I was struggling to find a different way of asking Hector Jr. in a way he understood, Ive paid you $1100 to fit a soft-top to my car, it is so far off being done properly, to the point I cannot open the door, so how do we fix it?. He finally relented and offered to have his specialist diagnose what they could do, next time they are available. Which is what should have happened 3 weeks ago when they first installed it poorly. So why did we have to go round and round in circles blaming everything on the car except the perfect job they did? I guess Im going to have to pay someone to alter the frame so the top fits properly, but Id rather find someone else to fix the job if it means not having to deal with this attitude anymore.

My experience with Hector was something I could have done without. It was a learning process. I should have been more observant since from the outset deceit seems to be the order of the day: first of all, there is no one named Bill Dunn. Since this is obviously a way to mislead people I should not be surprised that Hector Sr. turned out to be a liar and a thief. I was introduced to him through an acquaintance and gave him the benefit of the doubt. My bad! Just make sure you get everything in writing, and have witnesses. Even then, study up on your civil law, since technically what he does isnt criminal. My best advice is to avoid the place altogether. There are many quality upholsterers in OC, and many with integrity. Hector Sr lacks integrity, and calls it business. If it is business, it falls into the category of monkey business. At least I got off cheap, as it was only a few hundred dollars....I feel sorry for anyone who really got taken by this guy. If you still intend to go forward with this guy, I advise you to keep your eyes open. He does do kick ass interiors, but dont be surprised when it costs you more than what was represented at first.

My husband has a pet project - a 1984 Aston Martin Lagonda. Bill Dunn replaced all the dash upholstery, the headliner, made new visors and res prayed front and back bumpers. The work was amazing. They were fast and the car looks great. Will be taking Larry back to have the two front seats re-upholstered and finally a respray. Thoroughly recommend these guys.

I purchased a Primo 1979 Lincoln 4 Door Town Car at a Classic Car Auction in North Carolina. When the car was delivered to CA, while removing from inside the van, the vinyl top was ripped.I took the car to Bill Dunn and the job they did replacing the vinyl top was nothing short of amazing. And the way the entire staff treat their customers is simply Class all the way. I highly recommend this company.

These guys are great! Helped me with a small but vexing problem when they really didnt have to. I recently bought some after market seat covers for my 2004 Chevy pick-up. However, I couldnt figure out how to detach the headrests from the front seats to complete the install. The local dealer was absolutly no help (Delello Chevy). They told me the headrest wasnt detachable. On impulse, I drove over to Bill Dunn, thinking maybe I could get some advice. Hector, greeted me and when I explained the issue he took a look. Turns out there is a pin hole size release button under the headrest. that I had totally missed. Hector had both headrests off in about 60 seconds! A small and simple fix IF you know where to look. I was very grateful for the help. Hector refused to take the $20 I offered him. Drove off a happy customer. Id definetly go back to these guys for upholstery and interior work.
