My experience at Hull Auto has been a mixed-bag. Theyre convenient for auto inspection, but their customer service was lacking the few times I used them for routine maintenance. Perhaps its a culture thing, not sure, but I got a heated argument when I legitimately questioned a charge on the bill. Not too big a deal there-- disagreements are common when it comes to auto repair-- but what I do have a problem with are the bogus reviews given to this business on Google. One look at the many five-star ratings (and the reviewers who posted them) written in the weeks before this one, and you know theyre totally self-serving. Look, Im sure Fatima is the best, and Im all for local businesses succeeding, but that success must be earned legitimately. The lesson for Hull Auto Repair (and Hingham Auto Repair) is this... give your customers fair and honest work, treat them like family, and you wont have to resort to these kind of shenanigans to boost your Google score.

I have been using Hull Auto Repair for about two years now, and they have always been at the top of their game!!! Fatima handles the front office of the business, and she is always just so pleasant and easy to interact with. Their prices are very fair, they accommodate last minute appointments without hassle, and the car is always done on time, if not early. IMO, all mechanics struggle with getting repairs done on time (even the good guys), its just the nature of the business, but Fatima and her family do a great job of getting the cars in and out quickly...without sacrificing quality! Thank you guys, please dont stop doing what youre doing!!!PS - On two separate occasions, I was not charged AT ALL for small services that they performed, including today!

Went there for a sticker, left with a headlight that fell out. I asked what we were going to do about it (I wasn’t mad because it’s an older car and mistakes happen) but When I was told “it’s not my problem.” was a little frustrating so I told them to stop on the inspection and I would be taking my business elsewhere. I offered to pay for the washer fluid I needed since mine was empty and that’s a requirement to test to make sure it’s working, she said no it’s fine and began to walk away .. so this post isn’t for the business itself and the work they do .. it’s for their poor professionalism.

I called for availability for an oil change, I was given an opening within 15 minutes. As soon as I pulled up I was greeted outside by the front office staff and told to pull inside. Customer service was phenomenal, they were both courteous and upfront with anything conducted on the car.I called several shops prior to this and it was as if I was bothering them to ask for an appointment or time to come in. I would drive out of my way to return to Hull Auto Repair!Family owned and a high sense of pride and professionalism in the shop! Outstanding job I will be back and would recommend Hull Auto Repair to anyone.

They gave me one estimate for detailing, and then doubled it when done. I refused to pay the higher price. These people will take advantage of you if they can. The ride to and from my house was nice, but at what cost?

Joseph at Hull Auto was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I have a 2003 Jeep that I bought for a song earlier this year. Joseph gave it the initial Mass State inspection. It passed with just a few issues which he detailed for me with approximate costs for each repair. Nothing really major. Afterwards I brought it in to have most of the issues dealt with and my bill was a lot less than I had expected. Just last week I brought it in for an oil change and he discovered that the oil pan was frozen solid with rust. If he unscrewed that nut to drain the old oil the turning of the nut would have likely collapsed the entire oil pan as a result of the weaken condition created by the extensive amount 15 years of accumulated rust covering the entire oil pan. The fix would be removing and replacing sections of both axles. His mechanic suggested removing the axles one at a time and wiggling the oil pan free slowly. This process ended saving me about $2,000. The job took about 3 hours longer then just a quick oil change but saved me almost my entire cost to replace my $3,000. fifteen year old Jeep.Needless to say Joseph, David and Hull Auto Repair gets ten stars. I have since sent him 5 other customers including my neighbors, my wife and a dear friend all of whom heap high praise for his workmanship as well as his communication skills which notably outshine 99.9% of others in the Auto Repair Business hands down without comparison ! ! !High marks for skill and keeping promises.

If you have ever left Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair feeling ripped off, duped, deceived, conned, swindled, defrauded, fleeced, misled, lied to, hustled, and/ or simply stolen from, then let me assure you that your gut feeling is speaking the truth.On January 29th, 2020 I brought our Chevrolet Equinox to Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair because the vehicle was stalling between 5 and 15 mph. Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair did the following so-called work. I’ve attached the original receipt. Some work was completed without asking and some with my approval. The work included new gaskets, plugs, coils, a smoke test, tires balanced, an alignment, locating and repairing EVAP, and lastly, an oil change, which Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair illegally reset to 100%, as was shown on the diagnostics.Promptly thereafter, the vehicle continued to chug and stall, and on February 5th, 2020 the vehicle was dropped off at Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair for a second time, where it sat for two days and the only follow up was that of my own. When the car was eventually picked up, we received nothing more than gimmicks and nonsense, with Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair stating that the vehicle, once again, needed another engine flush, as well as another oil change, in hand with a brand new timing chain, at a cost of $1000, plus a random $250 “kit”, all while expressing their own distaste for that of any dealership, stating “the dealership is going to be more expensive. I have twenty-seven text messages, two phony videos, and two improvised photos proving their lies and deceptions.Jumping forward to February 11th, 2020 when common sense took hold and I brought the vehicle to Best Chevrolet, in Hingham. Within 10 minutes of checking in, I was professionally and courteously informed that our Chevrolet Equinox needed a camshaft, which was under warranty. Attached is their receipt and a zero cost to us. Furthermore, our service rep at Best Chevrolet explained that Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair did “unnecessary work” and that we were “taken advantage of.”This statement prompted a dispute with our credit card company, in which Capital One quickly sided with us, returning all pilfered funds, and have since closed the case. Please see attached letter.To add, during a long weekend in New Hampshire, I brought the vehicle into Newport Chevrolet for a service before heading north, and here’s what I found out from them.1.) Confirmation and corroboration with that of Best Chevrolet, stating the work on the above Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair statement was “uncalled for and fabricated.”2.) The engine was NEVER flushed.3.) Neither oil change was ever performed, yet Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair deceitfully charged us for a whole slew of expenses, including the criminal resetting of the vehicle’s diagnostics, when fully knowing the work was never done to begin with.I have asked Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair numerous times for a detailed and proper description of the work that was actually completed and why some of the work was done at all. However, I’ve received nothing but unsophisticated notes, fobbing off, delayed responses, juvenile comebacks, uncouthness - all with a complete lack of answerability.Please do your due diligence before bringing your vehicle to such charlatans. Do not allow yourself to go through the same falsehoods, fraudulence and scams that I endured with Hull/ Hingham Auto Repair. It’s stomach churning to think that this is a way of life for this operation - theft via trust, larceny through a lack of customer knowledge, and an overall script of sound and babble. Be suspicious, be mistrustful, and be skeptical, because those instincts will serve you well should you need to communicate, on whatever level, with this duplicitous and sordid lot.Good luck!

My niece was taking the car on a long trip back to school, Hull Auto was supposed to do a lube oil and filter, check and rotate tires and replace windshield wipers.. when I asked my friend to doublecheck hoses etc..he said the oil was overfilled (possibly not changed) tire pressure was low on all tires, and they were not rotated..Would not go there again

Had an emergency driving around Hull just as this new business was opening. I took a chance and drove there on a Sunday. Josef was there and very responsive (my exhaust system was falling down). He was able to tie it up temporarily and I returned on Monday for it to be fixed. They did a wonderful job. Now my husband and I are customers and have been back for various things, including an inspection. So happy this new business is in Town.
