Its so quiet there until my daughter and I get there. You hear us laughing(at ourselves) we bring happiness to our visits 3 times a week. We make it fun there

Howells PF is spotless, staff is great and helpful. Its really a good gym.

Sent an email last week and no response. My concern is the lack of enforcement of rules and the lazy attitude of employees. I was in today and 3 men were wearing blue jeans and work boots and no one said anything. The other day 2 women were using the treadmill side by side, no distancing again nothing said. Equipment is left out to be tripped over, equipment is not being wiped down by members. Members are having conversations on their phones while I wait to use the machines. Ive seen members use machines in ways they werent designed.On most days when the owner/manager isnt there the employees are usually lounging around talking.

Clean and nice staffs. Worth for the price. Machines all good condition too.

The staff at this planet fitness are very welcoming, constantly cleaning, and always willing to help you, all you have to do is ask. I have seen people not wearing masks covering their mouth and nose, however it is during running on the treadmill ‘s, or drinking water. Of course there’s always a few that will try to break the rules, but isn’t it up to all of us to say something? We are trying to live in this stressful Covid environment. And although yes I do feel it is up to staff to do the most part, we can also help they can’t cover everything all the time. I think what is important is they are always willing to help and try to find a solution. Great place & very clean.

My schedule is difficult.I enjoyed being able to work out and often shower at PF.Its ok. Not worth the price.

The Howell PF is awesome !tanning and the massage chair!👍 The staff are always cleaning to keep it safe and they are all so helpful and so friendly 😃 . I enjoy coming to this one a lot it’s really close to me to which is nice with the hours ! 5 stars !

I think if you are going to dedicate machines for classes, plan on having more than one machine..... (i.e. butterflies)... classes tend to be during my only available gym time.... so if I want to work the chest, Im screwed. Thanks. Way to ruin a great workout.

Inexpensive gym - great for the local community. No longer requiring masks.

I have a medical reason to not wear face mask wrote by our governor. Meaning our governor said if you have a medical reason not to wear one ya dont have to. They dont care about your health problems.

Recently spoke to employees at both Howell and Brighton locations about this. Numerous members are not covering their noses with masks which CDC says is crucial. They are not confronting violating members about this. Said they will in future. If not, needs to be reported.

This is a review of planet fitness as a whole and not a reflection of staff members running any individual location.I was pleased to hear the gym would be opening, however the hours do not work, I originally purchased a membership for a 24 hour gym because my work hours do not allow me to make it to the gym during standard hours.I have not seen any deductions from my account since Planet Fitness reopened and If I do it should reflect half the amount since the gym is only open half the time and not providing the service I purchased.I understand there is the COVID thing but my work schedule still hasn’t changed, I will go in and cancel my membership today.

Staff are always friendly and ready to help. I always see someone cleaning at all hours. I highly recommend this gym to all of my friends, it is one of the best in the area.

I will not use any planet fitnesses nor will my family. I understand employees enforce the rules they are told, however Planet Fitness as a business should at least be up to date on the current rules in Michigan. There are signs all over stating “it’s mandated by the governor to wear a mask”. The mask mandate per the governor ended at the beginning of November. The health department had put out rules that masks should be worn, however, it’s recognize they can be removed while engaged in rigorous activity. Many gyms such as Crunch fitness, life time fitness, and orangetheory Fitness in Michigan allow patrons to remove masks while engaged in vigorous activity. I have asthma and I pull my mask down in order to avoid an asthma attack while running and usually have it up while moving about. I was addressed by an employee to pull up my mask while running, I explained my situation and he said they do not honor medical exemptions. I asked 4 times if there was anyone on staff with cpr or first aid training in the event someone needs assistance. He avoided the question through out the conversation. I have never been to a gym that doesn’t have at least one staff member on sight that could assist in a situation. This chain has grown too big and does not care about each individual customer. My family and I are taking our business to one of the above gym chains that understand health and care about their patrons.

This place is an absolute joke. The manger is very disrespectful and rude and the assistant manger is even worse. This gym has gone down hill in the past few months. Myself along with a large group of my buddies had to cancel due to the unprofessionalism by management. How can they take care of a problem while sitting behind the counter on their phones all day. Come on Planet Fitness you can do better than this.

AWFUL staff and AWFUL management. Don’t come here. Set up is terrible too just go to Brighton or another gym completely. All old employees quit and this place has gone so down hill, sad i had to transfer going somewhere else after I’ve been a member here for 2 years.

I tried several months to cancel my membership, but they kept taking money out of my account, I talked to the manager even, I had documentation to show that Ive tried to cancel, Ive asked for my money to be refunded to me, they gave me a WHOPPING $22, after 4 months and a overdraft charge they caused me, all I got back was $22 bucks!! The manager NEVER even had the balls enough to return ANY of my calls!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Nice clean facility with some really friendly staff!

The staff are all awesome! But out of all the planet fitness locations Ive ever been to this one has the worst layout. There is never room to stretch because the room is so small. The equipment variety is not much compared to other locations. There is never parking available that is somewhat close due to the traffic volume. I wish you would move the location to the old Carsons building where there is alot of parking available and more room/a larger space for more equipment and not just 1 of each types of equipment. The brown paper towel does a horrible job of holding the cleaner and the circuit room is backwards. You gotta turn around to look at the timer and it hurts my neck just to stay on track who ever designed that did a horrible job. . The only good thing about this gym is the kind staff. Please consider making some changes. Please!! The place is always clean too. Also the day you closed temporarily you withdrew the money out of my account. Will I get reimbursed since youll be closed for a few weeks? The 20 dollars at least??????

Beautiful looking gym. Employees were friendly and very helpful..price for membership is very affordable..my one and only complaint for this gym is the lack of lifting weights/ machines..I get the vibe this gym is cardio based other than lifting...with that many people in the gym and so few weight machines its near impossible to get the right workout done if you are into lifting..

Staff is friendly and gym is clean. The temperature is more conducive to a nursing home than a gym. Walked in today and was blasted by the warmth. Checked wall mounted thermostats and they registered 71 degrees. Mentioned warmth to the staff and was told it was just fine. Fine for someone behind a desk perhaps. This is not first time I mentioned issue to staff. I have asked other members and they agree. Maybe they can do an informal survey. They may be surprised at the outcome. Chance for them to save on the heat bill this winter. If this doesnt change soon, I will be looking elsewhere for a better workout environment.

Like any Planet Fitness - the lack of benches and bars not locked into machines is a negative. Other than that - this is a nice Planet Fitness and they keep it clean and tidy. Not the perfect gym but a great place for anyone interested in fitness to get started in. Its cheap and affordable and they tend to make good on their promise of a judgement free zone.If youre even considering starting your own fitness journey - this is a good place to start.

Any Planet Fitness is a great place to workout at your own pace. N no one judges you at all everyone has different body types and everyone works out together. We are all adults there. Im alittle heavy n I love going there no one bothers with me everyone is friendly. Ive been a black member since March 2018.

Great place to work out! Ive been a member of three different gyms in the Howell area, this one by far has the best selection of up to date equipment with great prices. Every gym has contracts, this place has the best terms. Staff is young, but I think its a perfect job for people their age. They have always been very nice. Just wish PF offered group fitness classes. Overall, very convenient and great equipment!

I would have to agree with the most recent reviews for this Planet Fitness franchise. I have been going to the Howell PF since they opened as it is much closer than the others for me. The staff is generally just interested in scanning your card and getting you away from the front desk. No dress code is enforced, I have seen everything from jeans at the machines, to women wearing sports bras with a t-shirt ripped all the way down the side and yoga pants.Last time I was there (Sunday February 21st) the 12 minute abs and the stretch/ab section were in totally disarray, almost like they were doing maintenance moving machines around, but no one was actually doing anything. I just figured they were doing maintenance in some way, didnt effect my workout so I didnt care to inquire.The girls who work there are generally unpleasant (not all of them, but most), and I have heard some of them talking crap about patrons as they walk away to tan or workout. Very few of the employees seem to know much about the tanning or the machines and how to use them properly. I asked about the tanning once and the guy at the desk essentially looked dumb founded over the question of what length of time I should go for, I guess they expect everyone to know how to fake-n-bake.Overall, if you are interested in PF for what it is, a place with machines and weights to be used at your whim, then keep going to Howell. If you are looking for a staff of knowledgeable people and happy, friendly staff that are interested in making your time at the gym a good one, then you should probably go to Brighton or another PF. If you care at all about the No Critics slogan and the Judgement Free Zone that Planet Fitness stands for, than you should go to some place other than Howell.I could care less about how the people dress or if the staff is rude personally, I am there to lift weights, use machines and watch people be people. It would be nice if management would enforce the dress code and get staff who genuinely care about the patrons, but I dont seriously expect it to happen.

Always have a solid work out here.Staff usually greets you with a smile and is attentive and friendly when approached.I love to bring in guests and run them through different programs. The 20 dollar membership is worth its weight in gold. Its great being able to give friends who would otherwise not be in the gym, an option to tag along for free! Talk about exposure.Gym is always clean, Im talking spotless. Ive been to many different planet fitnesses, and theyre all clean, but this place shines.Definitely want to give a shout out to one of the employees, Grant.Always seems to be professional and hes always moving and cleaning. You can tell hes a solid employee.

Nice gym. They clearly try to keep the pace clean. I just wish they would get rid of the machines with the put of date iPhone cables. By now everyone has a lightning port or an Android. No one still uses a 30pin connector.

Just recently joined...by far the best thing I have ever done. Gym is clean and staff is friendly and helpful.

I canceled my account in march due to not using much in the summer. Along with my account I have my daughters account (who is not old enough to have an account on her own) when I canceled my account I told them to also make sure they cancel my daughters because she would not be using it due to her age and not being able to use the gym on her own. I just happened to look at my banking account to found that they were still charging me 10.00 a month for the past 2 months. I contacted them. They said I needed to fill out a separate form for my daughter when canceling. How was I to know when they were told at the time that I wanted both accounts closed. So I went back up, filled out the paperwork they requested. I asked for the two months to be reimbursed and they refused. We are only talking about 20 bucks here folks, but its the point of the matter. They were charging an account that could not be used (and could see it hadn’t). They would rather get a negative rating than to just simply reimburse the 20.00. I did call corporate but because all planet fitnesses are independently owned I had to go direct. I tried. They refused. So here is the negative feedback they wanted instead of just reimbursing my 20.00 for THEIR mistake.

Reasonable membership prices. Clean facility & friendly staff. More than once I have experienced equipment that is out of order, especially the treadmills & cardio equipment. Can be frustrating especially when the gym is busy. Overall good experience for the money.

Great experience at this planet fitness they are definitely not all created equal. Everyone at this one is super friendly and its always very clean at least when I go!

Too warm. Even in the winter, they have the heat too high. As busy as this gym is, they dont really need the heaters on. Then when the sun is shining, with the heaters, its unbearable to work out. Temp always reads between 70-73 degrees. Working out temps should be between 65 and 68.Another thing I noticed...Its always too busy. They obviously dont have a limit on memberships! If you want a comfortable workout, I suggest other gyms, there are a lot of them in Howell.

Since total fitness closed I wandered over to planet fitness. Its not a hardcore gym by any means but it does have everything you need to meet your fitness goals. It is warmer there, of which I prefer because it promotes a good sweat and keeps the body warm. All in all, great facility, great staff...just gets busy in the evening like any other gym!

Working out here is fine, but its so hot in there. Working out here is fine, but seruously, I dont even keep the heat in my home at 71. And I work out at non-busy times so its not hot because of all the people. I asked about it once and they told me the owner wont let them turn down the heat. Off the heat? On the air? Whatever-its way too warm for a gym.

Very clean with a friendly and wonderful staff. While I wish they had more options for lifting like bar bells, weight bench and squat rack. I understand the reasoning behind it. Ive been to a few gyms in the area over the years and for the money you cant beat what they other. No its not a gym but as fitness centers go its top notch.

Why is it that everybody else knew about the executive order stating gyms need to be closed at 3 but when I specifically went into the gym in Howell they had no clue about it and said they planned to stay open lol?I received an email yesterday from my other gym stating they were closing but yet no official notification from planet fitness why is that?

The first time that I have been to a fitness center in years. I liked the energy of this place, all kinds of equipment. This place is very clean.

Great place to work out.Cheap and clean.Staff needs to let people know the rules for the 30 minute workout room. People go in there and sit on one machine when you are only supposed to work out for one minute at a time per machine.

If your looking for a place to workout this is a great place they will show you around give you advice they also have trainers available for you plus if you have a black card membership you have access to free tanning as well as the hydro Beds which are fantastic long day? Those alone will make a better

Great place to work, nobody judges you. Many types of machines and there are multiple routines you can do. Only needs to work a bit more on the cleanliness. Some peolple wont wipe down the machine after using it.

The people that work here are kind and supportive. Please be sure to check hours. It is 24/5, which makes weekend workouts tricky. For $10/month, there isnt much to complain about!

I was just there a few days ago around 4am to work out and this place was filthy. only one person working and they were just sitting at the desk the carpets at the door needed to be vacuumed floors needed sweeping or mopping and the mens locker room was trashed. I went back the next morning and it was just the same. the owner needs to go to the MIlford gym. this place has 3-4 people working and it is always clean

Great location, emps keep it clean. People working out need to wake up and wipe machines down after they use them. Gross!!!

Look up the cancellation complaints, the story is always the same as the same with me. You will end up regretting this, they cost me hundreds and dont follow their own contracts Im serious LOOK UP THE CANCELATION REVIEWS!!! ITS NOT WORTH IT. The place is cool and all and I had no problem being there but they will steal money from you over and over again and when you try to cancel they will charge you, and then when the time is up they will roll over your membership and snare you anyway and continue taking money this entire franchise should be shut down

The gym is so clean and the employees are extremely attentive to making sure everything is clean. Plus, nobody is there to look cute, so there really is no judgment.

This particular planet fitness has an amazing atmosphere and the workers are so great very clean place too

Unreal how many times I have to leave my work out early because the older men here make me feel very uncomfortable. Not the staffs fault but I wish something was done about it.

There are lots of machines so there are usually a couple free to use at all times. There is a pretty strong sweat smell all the time and no one monitors the people sitting (not just resting between reps) on machines and on phones.

I love this particular Planet Fitness. The staff does a great job keeping the gym clean. Most of the people there are very friendly.

Was told I could cancel my membership with no fee after a year went in today and canceled it and they said they will still take out the fee on the 17th. It’s a scam an a half. I went to my bank and put a stop payment in it they won’t get another dime out of me that’s for sure. Good luck trying to get $19.00 dollars after I have cancels it already. I don’t recommend this gym.

Usually pretty clean during the week. Weekends are busy. Mens locker Room was destroyed from someone that had muddy boots. Iet girls at the front desk know. Her response was we have a guy coming in one hour. To me thats a little unacceptable they could have closed down the bathroom for 5 minutes and mopped the floor.

Superb facilities. Doubles of most non-cardio workout equipment. Very clean and well maintained building and equipment.

This is the cleanest gym I have ever been to. It has all the equipment I need and I never have a problem finding an open machine.

Its large. I never feel crowded. The staff are all great young people. Very clean! I never wait for a machine. The hydro water massage need is my favorite!

Was a member here for 3 months. I had a good experience here and would recommend it but ultimately decided to change gyms.Pros: Gym is big. Ample equipment. Locker rooms have showers. Massage beds are great. Tanning and red light therapy is available. Some cardio machines have a fan overhead, which is nice. Atmosphere is pretty good. Plenty of fit young people, fit older people, overweight people taking control of their health, and all people alike. Staff is cool, never had any issues with the employees.Cons: Gym gets very busy from 4 to 7 pm on weekdays. By busy I mean crowded. Hours may be limited for some people depending on his or her schedule.. Closes at 7 pm on weekends which was too early for me sometimes. The gym can get messy, garbage cans overflow with paper towels sometimes. (Gotta be a better way to do it.. I’m not a tree hugger but it’s wasteful). WiFi is generally good but sometimes internet can be slower when it’s busy, I’ve had many interruptions trying to watch YouTube.

I would be willing to argue all the negatives people have. I only have seen employees sitting in the nice chairs when its a pt and a client. Its warm to keep you sweating, its a gym go sweat, working out when your body is cold is a bad idea. The people Ive seen in jeans were 75+ years old, they cant be mean to old people or you would complain about that too.Im in there 5 days a week or more, the staff is friendly and they dont interrupt my sets, they keep the gym clean, they dont have a lot of heavy free weights, but the other pf I went to only had up to 60lb dumbbells. For $10 or $20 a month, youre doing a damn good job, go to snap if you dont like it, oh wait, they wanted to charge me $39/month for even LESS equipment and a dirtier gym. Thats a big hell no, pf is just fine, Id want heavier weights, but for $19/mo I can absolutely make due.

Came here with a black card member, aside from a second at the front desk, nobody talked to me or bothered me in any way. I did not have to wait for anything and was overall a good experience!

This is a great Gym! I love how big it is so you dont have to wait for a machine or run right next to someone else when you are on the tredmill. Its always decently clean and well kept. The employees do there jobs. The best part is how cheap it is, and there payments come right out of your bank account so you dont have to worry about missing a payment. The only 2 things I can complain about it they throw away anything you leave in the showers instead of sticking it in the lost and found, and there are not allot of mirrors which is very important so people can make sure they have the correct form when working out. I have been going here for almost a year now and I dont plan on leaving anytime soon! :)

No waiting for machines if arriving early during the week. Fairly clean. Replace tanning bulbs regularly.

Planet Fitness wont let me get a membership because they no longer accept credit or debit cards. Its your bank account number or nothing. Well they get nothing. I had my credit card in hand but I guess I couldnt be trusted to pay the bill. That stupid policy just lost them a customer. Good job whatever corporate idiot that thought up that rule.

Been going here daily for a few years and its becoming too small to handle its membership volume at least during peak gym hours. Doesnt help that 3-4 treadmills have been out of order for weeks now. Also, they switched to some low quality brown paper towel a little while back for machine cleaning.

Very unprofessional Planet Fitness, it is very obvious they arent up to code with the other chains. Girls up front are rude and always doing nothing. Took 7 minutes to get scanned in the other day, was wondering why only 2 people were up front right around rush hour, turned around and noticed the 2 managers were lounging in the black sofa chairs that are supposed to be for members. Did about an hour of cardio and noticed they were still relaxing while getting paid. Must be nice that the owner doesnt know this. No CODE is enforced either, people come in with half naked outfits on all the time and slam weights and nobody says a thing. Go to Brighton, this gym is horrible.
