Very nice, classy venue. Has clean restrooms, spacious parking lot and good food. Also, kept the place at a good cooler temperature which allowed for less sweating when dancing and moving around a lot.

Went here for a wedding last week. Very nice and ornate hall. Perhaps a little dated but still very beautiful. The dance floor was oddly long but still a good venue. Bathrooms were very nice and clean. Food and bar was excellent (not sure if in house).

We had our ceremony and reception here and I cant praise each of these people enough. Valerie was great to work with and was very responsive throughout the process, you can tell she has experience calming stressed out brides! The day of our wedding, Barbara did a great job coordinating everything, Terri was our room captain and and her and her team were just a complete joy to work with. I didnt have to worry about anything at all, it was such a relief. I instantly felt at ease. John was so sweet and made sure that we didnt need anything all night. I cant say enough about that team. Chef Ty did an unbelievable job with our food, every guest we talked to could not say enough about how good it was. And then there was Anna, our bartender. The bartender of all bartenders. SHE WAS THE BEST! She was making drinks for a large group of crazy people all night and handled us all like a boss. Thank you all for everything you did to make our day so unforgettable. We love you all!

My husband and I attended a wedding on July 2nd, we arrived casually late, the food was being taken back and cleaned up, but one of the staff members (a gentleman) came over to my husband and said, Hey I noticed you and your wife got here as we were tearing down the buffet, would you guys like me to make you a couple plates back in the kitchen? We both agreed that it was such a nice gesture and that he was paying attention to this party and was concerned with everyone having fun and enjoying themselves. We decided not to have him make us a plate, but the gesture was very kind and we wanted to acknowledge his great customer service.

Crystal Gardens was absolutely amazing from start to finish with our wedding day! We unfortunately were one of the couples that had to push their wedding day back due to COVID-19, but everyone at Crystal Gardens was so helpful and accommodating with our situation! We worked with Valerie for getting all of the details set for the day of and she was always very quick, responsive, and so helpful with all of our questions. On the day of the wedding, the entire staff (head captain, wait staff, bartenders, chef, etc.) was so kind and made sure that everything ran so smoothly without us or any of our guests having to worry about anything. I would definitely recommend Crystal Gardens to anyone who is looking to have an event!

Crystal Gardens provided not only a beautiful interior and exterior environment for our wedding ceremony and reception, but also exceptional customer service. We instantly felt respected and heard when sharing all of our hopes for how our special day would go. This venue is reasonably priced, has a simple, yet beautiful elegance in all their event spaces, and were very attentive to our needs even after our big day was finished and we had a few loose ends to tie up. Oh, and the food was incredible! Would recommend this venue to friends, family, and in light conversation brought up with a stranger if the topic arose.

Very nice place and good food. My bfs band played at a banquet there. Almost everyone left before they had a chance to play. One set was better then nothing I guess. But the gardens was beautiful inside.

I had my dream wedding in the two back ballrooms and my husband and I could not have been more happy with everything!! The staff was amazing and always made sure my husband and I had enough food, drinks etc. They eased my stress with a lot of things and also did not question any of my requests. I will for sure be recommending Crystal Gardens to other friends and family, and I will also be having future celebrations here! (baby shower etc.) thank you again!! My son got married here during this awful pandemic and Crystal Gardens was amazing and planned an incredible wedding. They were 100% in compliance with every single ever changing Executive order. They worked so hard to give these kids such a special day. Yes things had to be different then they had planned due to Covid but the entire staff here was so attentive, so kind and caring and their wedding was absolutely beautiful. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make this day so special and still follow every single, ever changing rule. Dont listen to rude people leaving false reviews just because they dont believe this venue should be able to be doing weddings. They did it right, followed all of the rules and it was amazing. The health dept knows exactly what this venue is doing and how they are doing it and its all good. I cant stress enough how amazing the staff is here and the owners are very involved. THANK YOU CRYSTAL GARDENS FOR EVERYTHING YOU ARE A CLASS ACT!

I can’t say enough AMAZING things about Crystal Gardens. My husband and I got married here during the most uncertain times within our state due to covid-19. We had to change around all of our wedding plans to accommodate the “governors orders” many different times. We had to move everything outside a week before our wedding date (talk about stressful). The owner and staff made sure we would still have the wedding of our dreams despite all the uncertainty and made things happen I didn’t even know were possible for an outdoor wedding. They followed all the governors orders and it was absolutely stunning!! The food, the service, the outdoor venue all exceeded our expectations. Our wedding wouldn’t have been complete without the hard work, kindness, and professionalism of Crystal Gardens. ❤️

This place is rip off. My daughter had to cancel the venue because they would only allow 10 guests due to the COVID. Didn’t offer any provisions for a tent to accommodate 50 guests. Moved the venue to Waldenwoods and was warmly welcomed and did provide a beautiful tent for the wedding. Crystal Gardens refused to refund any of the money that was paid at a very early date. Only wanted 1/2 of it refunded but they refused even after contacting an attorney. They tried to ruin this wedding. To anyone listening to this post. STAY AWAY from CRYSTAL GARDENS in HOWELL! They are greedy people who prey on Young couples Dreams!!

A lovely venue for a wedding. The pavilion was very nice though the seats were a little too snug and we were running hips with our neighbors. The staff did a good job of directing us. The lobby, banquet room, and restrooms were nice and clean. Food was a good but not great. It would have been nice if our water carafe stayed full and we were offered coffee. The staff were very nice All and all, it was fine.

Beautiful venue. Poor communication between management and floor staff. Asked multiple times for specific alterations in the floor plan and they refused to do so. Beer was served warm. Prime rib was very fatty. Other dishes were good. Asked to add tequila and they charged us $200 for $40 worth of alcohol and ran out. Lost my sheet cake. Overall very disappointed.

This venue is operating in violation of the Govornors Executive Order. They are permitting wedding receptions of more than 10 guests to be held indoors during the month of August. Dancing is permitted and buffet service is permitted. Its businesses like this that will make it hard for MI to return to in-person school. I am a mom who needs to have my kids return to school. I am a woman who lost a family member to Covid and couldnt attend a funeral of more than 10 - a final event such as a funeral, BUT venues can get away with holding receptions by claiming restaurant status.This venue is not a restaurant. A report had been made to the AGs office. Local law enforcement would not accept the complaint.

Friends got married at the outdoor Chapel and the reception followed. The place was beautiful the staff was awsome and the food was over the top. (Prime Rib ) for the main course. It was tender and delicious

Don’t walk, RUN away. This venue is awful from beginning to end. As a guest at this past weekend’s wedding... I don’t even know where to begin. The bride postponed from March to July, thinking that the repercussions of COVID-19 would not still be an issue. Obviously, they are. In March, the bride had to make the decision to postpone less than 2 weeks prior to her original wedding date, as the entire state was shutting down. Trying to get ahold of the venue was nearly impossible as she could never get a straight answer and was constantly asking questions that the staff on hand could not answer. After she changed the date, following up with the venue still remained impossible. As the wedding was postponed so close to the original date, her balance was paid in full and she was told that she would not be getting any money back should her guest count decrease. They did allow her to make some adjustments, but the staff always acted as if she was a bother to them. A couple of months before the wedding date, the bride had a call with the owner, Joe, who assured her that everything would be fine. As a bride clinging onto hope, she listened to him. He even offered to set up a tent, if she wanted. The closer to the wedding date they got, the venue never checked in or followed up as state guidelines regarding gatherings were changing often. Joe assured the bride that he “knows lobbyists” downtown and that the state would absolutely be to stage 5 by 4th of July, so she shouldn’t worry. He also stated that he “knows a sheriff” and essentially the rules don’t apply to him. The week of 4th of July came and the governor did not move our region of the state to stage 5. At this point, the bride was beginning to panic for the safety of her guests as well as the executive order that was in place. The venue still planned on hosting a 100 person wedding indoors which was a clear violation of the state’s executive order. When the bride told the venue that she would feel more comfortable moving the entire wedding outdoors to comply with the EO, she was immediately met with an attitude from Valerie (the main person of contact, aside from Joe). The conversation quickly progressed and it was clear that the venue did not follow up or check in because they intended on having the wedding as planned whether it was safe or not and legal or not. They acted as if having a tent outside was the craziest thing they’d ever heard of, even though the owner had offered it previously. Finally, they agreed to move the wedding outdoors, but the owner made it clear that the tent was $2,000 and acted as if he was doing some type of favor. At this point, he also mentioned the 10 pm noise ordinance. The original reception end time was 1 am and he did not mention this small detail in their previous conversations. This 10 pm noise ordinance was then disregarded because the mother of the bride called the city and was told that it would not be a problem unless there was a complaint. There was never a complaint. The day of, the staff was unbelievably rude, especially the banquet manager. Please note, it did rain on the wedding day, which I understand does create some additional hoops to jump through, but at the end of the day... They are running a business. The entire reception was outdoors, but they moved the bar inside because they didn’t order a tent large enough. So, again, this broke the EO and also forced guests to continue to walk in the rain. The unprofessionalism, downright disregard and lack of respect is unparalleled. Then onto the food, which was also a let down. The potatoes were rock hard and the meat was impossible to cut with a butter knife.As much as I would like to say that these are the only complaints, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I would never, ever, ever recommend anyone to use this venue, ever.

We had our wedding there in October, and we couldn’t have been happier. The room looked incredible, the staff was excellent and attentive. I believe we had Barb as our go to person the night of and she was great. We had prime rib for one of our entrees and many of our guests said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. I highly recommend Crystal gardens in Howell. it’s cheaper then a few of the places we looked at, and higher quality.

We had our dream wedding at Crystal Gardens yesterday. I cannot speak highly enough about the entire experience from start to finish. The venue was beautiful upon first walking in. Every single staff member we worked with was fantastic. They were polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our coordinator had left CG halfway through the planning process, but the transition to our new point of contact, Valerie, was completely seamless. She was so helpful and had great recommendations and advice for the planning process. She answered emails and phone calls so promptly and always followed through with what we asked of her. CG has an entire pamphlet of optional vendors that they work with regularly, and every single one that we used was fabulous. The day of the event, things went so smoothly. The ceremony coordinator, Barbara, was fantastic. She made everything run seamlessly from keeping me hidden from the groom to adjusting a necklace to hide the clasp before I walked down. The reception was perfect and ran smoothly and efficiently. The food was served quickly and it was delicious. At the end of the day, we could not name a single thing that went wrong because the staff at CG was so on top of things. I would absolutely recommend having your wedding/event here. The team at Crystal Gardens truly knows what they’re doing. Thank you so much for making our big day everything we could have hoped for.

Quaint venue that seems fresh and well kept. The outdoor chapel is nice, though not very elaborate. Staff members are helpful and polite. The only issue we had, as guests, was with the food preparation. The beef option was way undercooked - deep red and literally oozing blood. The chicken was both rubbery and gritty. My guess is the kitchen was running behind schedule and rushed the food prep. But aside from the meal, the venue put on a pleasant evening.

Went for New Years Eve. Facility is nice and clean. Event reminded me of a corporate Christmas Party. Have not been to Crystal Gardens in 6 years or so, but I would say the mashed potato martini is 100% played out. Food was all pretty good and prime rib was excellent. Band was decent. Napkins showed up halfway through dinner. We all used cocktail napkins at first. Deserts were so so. Snack pizza and sliders were very good. Bar Service was fast.

Crystal Gardens was the perfect place for us to have our wedding. We were planning a wedding, expanding a business and buying a home at the same time. As one may imagine, many stressors could occur during any one of these large life events. Valerie was prompt at getting back to myself and my wedding planner with all the crazy questions we had for over a year, worked with me on pricing and adding in extras last minute. The venue was beautiful and we received many compliments regarding the food and service for weeks after our wedding. I will admit that there were a couple things that were not followed through according to our contract day of, but now that the day has passed, these were minor and not a guest would have known otherwise. I wish Valerie could have been there for the big day, but of course, she cannot work every minute of everyday :) I would recommend Crystal Gardens to any future bride! We were rushed out of the chapel so the bride and groom couldnt get all the pictures theyd wanted. The food at the reception was good, but felt like cafeteria food quality. We were promised use of a small room just outside the reception hall for the new mothers in the bridal party (for breastfeeding/pumping) but I ended up having to get a bit mean to the staff for them to allow us easy access to it as promised. The service from the bartender was fantastic though! Overall it wasnt horrible and everything went smoothly, but the place is obviously a business and has to make a profit.

The venue is beautiful and the staff is beyond helpful. It was a great price for everything that was included with our package and having the wedding ceremony and reception both there was easy and continent for us and our guests. The food was absolutely delicious we receive so many complement from our guests on the meal. Having good food at our wedding was a priority and Crystal Gardens delivered. I am extremely happy with the service and would recommend this venue for anybody looking for a place to have their wedding or other event.

Attended their New Years Eve Gala and it was definitely worth the ticket price! The Persuasion band was fantastic and the venue was beautiful! Food was okay. Bartender service was great as well! Would definitely attend another Crystal Gardens event in the future!

A top notch facility that easily handles groups of up to 400. The kitchen and staff are very efficient and accommodating. The food at our gathering of over 380 was outstanding!

What a beautiful space for a banquet. I went there for a gala and there were 300 people there but it didn’t feel cramped. The food was good, and the staff was very polite. Outside of the banquet hall were comfy chairs to congregate and the halls and bathroom were neat and clean. Easy access off the highway with lots of parking. I highly recommend this venue.

We recently had our wedding reception at Crystal Gardens and it was absolutely amazing. Ill be honest and say that when we had originally started planning Crystal Gardens was not in my top choices as its a super popular venue in our area and I felt that a lot of people had already been there, done that so to speak.But there is a REASON that Crystal Gardens is popular. The staff is amazing, the food is incredible, and the place is just impeccable and absolutely gorgeous. The package deal we got made wedding planning significantly easier for us, and thanks to that we came in under our wedding budget. Both our families had an amazing time (seriously, not one gripe from anyone) and we could not have been happier to have had our reception there. To anyone who is doubting whether or not they should choose Crystal Gardens, trust me, you want to have your reception there. You will not regret it.

We absolutely loved our experience at Crystal Gardens! The venue was so elegant and the food was great! Our guests complimented the food many times. We had the Friday night package with buffet, and included DJ, chair covers and the cake. The cake was so good too. Everything was so easy and the venue took care of everything. Working with Kari helped everything go smoothly and she thought of every detail! The night of the reception all of the staff was exceptional! I would highly recommend this venue - they made our night a very special one to remember! We loved it!

I had an off-site wedding reception and asked Crystal Gardens to cater it. From the chairs to the food to the cake, everything was beautiful. Not to mention the customer service and attention to every detail by the staff. There was not a beat they missed and helped me feel calm and in control. If I ever need to use a banquet center again, I will definitely choose Crystal Gardens. The people of Crystal Gardens have catering and service down to a science. Had my wedding reception there a week and a half ago. Everyone at my wedding loved the food, the cake, the venue. I wish I could do it all again because they were so great to work with and they made my wedding night go as smoothly as possible. If you are looking to have a fabulous wedding reception without all the stress at a reasonable price, do it at Crystal Gardens, you will not regret it!

Wedding ceremony was delayed for 30 minutes by the arrival delay of DJ (their assigned DJ). The traffic congestion near this place is real and serious issue. The wedding ceremony venue was very windy (candle was blown off repeatedly) with very noisy by passing cars. Sound system for wedding ceremony and reception center are really poor (Guests compliant) Please prepare own sound system if you choose this place. The locking system of womens restrooms did not work (Guestss complaint). Prime rib was not cooked well (almost raw - Guests complaint) Guestss umbrellas were moved and left without information. All guests returned home without it on rainy night.

I attended a wedding here recently, while everything was set up beautifully, the servers were extremely rude the entire night.

Could not have asked for anything more from this facility or the staff. I did not have to worry about a single thing the day of the wedding, or the days leading up to it. Staff was very professional and helpful in planning a wedding on a budget, and the staff the night of the wedding was amazing! If you are looking for a venue that will give you very little stress or grief while giving you the wedding of your dreams, Crystal Gardens in Howell is what you are looking for!

I recently had my wedding/reception here and have mixed feelings about Crystal Gardens. Positives: They offer all-inclusive packages which are very convenient. Through that we had DJ Kayla included (TJ Monte Productions) and she was fantastic. The sales staff was a pleasure to work with and schedule meetings with. The open air chapel is beautiful as well as the venue. A lot of guests complimented how pretty it was. The chef is great and guests raved about the food, and I personally loved my wedding cake. But, there are definitely things I feel couples & families should know before booking with Crystal Gardens:1.) You are allowed into the venue to set up centerpieces and decorations at 10 a.m. In my case, the reception area was not set up yet & it pushed my 2 bridesmaids way behind schedule since I already live 30 minutes away. They had to wait until staff was done to head back to get ready for the wedding.2.) You are given a dressing room that youre allowed access to 2 hours prior to the wedding.The object (or at least mine was) to show up with hair/make up ready and allow the photographer to take pictures of your bridal party dressing you. What they dont tell you (or at least didnt tell me) is that you have to have it cleaned & cleared within 2 hours of your wedding starting. Meaning, youre expected to leave your reception (dinner, entertaining, taking pictures, etc.) to clean a dressing room. Again, we werent told this & as I was in there cleaning near the end of the night..all I had to do was take my dress off and carry belongings out. A woman with long blonde hair in the clean up crew barged in, my husband had my dress unzipped and I had to pull my dress up as I wasnt clothed underneath. She said (very rudely, Ill add) oh, you were supposed to be out of here hours ago! Rolled her eyes, and said so youre at least doing it now? I was literally in shock that she 1. didnt even apologize for walking in on the bride practically naked and 2. that I was being yelled at for a rule I was never informed about.3.) We had issues with the audio system in the open air chapel. Our officiants mic kept going in & out throughout ceremony and several guests told me they only heard bits and pieces of our ceremony.4.) We had a good 30 people RSVP that didnt/couldnt be there the day of. I really wished our coordinator would have instructed guests to move up in the rows during the ceremony because guests were seated sporadically & its not a good look for pictures. I would have much rather seen my guests as a group at the front than seated randomly.5.) There were decisions that I was trumped on by staff. For example, I wanted my 7 year-old nephew to stand with my husband and his best man during the ceremony. He was told he wasnt allowed to stand with them and had to sit with the guests. It was irritating because that was what I wanted for my wedding and cant see what difference it would have made.6.) When they give you a reception ending time, that does not mean youre allowed to enjoy your party until the end. They start turning lights on and tearing down the reception 15-20 minutes prior to your party ending. No sooner than I was dealing with the dressing room incident, I was being pulled into the reception and being told I had to handle a situation because another cleaning employee was being mean to my mom & bridal party! She was rudely saying um, you were already supposed to have these centerpieces down!. They had me, my husband, bridal party, and my poor parents literally RUNNING boxes of decor out of the venue to their truck AT the ending time (on the dot). We were walked out with final possessions and decor, gate shut behind us, no more than 10 minutes after our wedding ended. They clearly have very strict expectations but nobody makes the clients aware of them until employees are being mean to you and your family.My issue is not that they have high expectations and strict rules, but I dont like that they tell you what you want to hear instead of making those expectations clear.

My Sons graduation party was held at Crystal Gardens on 6-14-15. It was wonderful !! The room looked terrific, the food was great, and the staff was kind and courteous. I would HIGHLY recommend Crystal Gardens for any event.

Two days after my wedding Im still receiving phone calls and text messages from my guests letting me know how perfect the day was. Of course I graciously accept the compliment and selfishly say it was no big deal planning every last detail. The truth is, it was not at all stressful to me because the staff at Crystal Gardens handled everything and made my wedding day their number one priority, absolutely beautiful and 100% stress free.Lets talk about Laura in the sales office for a second, she has been dealing with me and my wedding planning committee for over a year. My wedding planning committee consists of my mother as well as my mother in law and we all know that the mothers have their own ideas of how the day should be. Laura handled each and every occasion with grace and the upmost respect for their opinions. Every email and phone call was responded to almost immediately and she always made sure that I knew I could count on her for anything I needed for the wedding. She would even email me and let me know if she was going to be away from the office for a few days and would provide me with an alternate contact if I needed anything (shout out to Kari for all her help). By far, Laura was a pleasure to work with and made my entire experience at crystal gardens amazing.Barb, the wedding coordinator made sure everyone was on point and perfectly communicated with my wedding party about the direction of the ceremony. During the early morning hours, while I was getting ready I received a call from Terri who was in charge of setting up the reception. We made our centerpieces and provided direction on how the table tops should be arranged. Something was missing and the directions provided (by my mother in law werent 100% clear) Terri asked me if I knew where the specific items were and asked me to call her back once I figured it out. I never called her back but she took care of it, located the items and made sure they were exactly where they needed to be.The wedding reception went off without a hitch and if there were any other problems the team at crystal gardens took care of it without me knowing anything was wrong. All of the servers were AMAZING. Jayne took care of the sweetheart table that my husband and I were at and plated our food, made sure we had enough and did whatever we needed, with a smile! She was absolutely incredible and on top of her game. Now, I bartended for ten years and I was very concerned when I was told that we would have one bartender to take care of the entire wedding reception. I didnt want my guests to have to wait for a drink and though I didnt doubt Dans abilities... I didnt think he would be able to keep up (no offense, Dan ... I just know that I had a bunch of drinkers in attendance and I wanted to make sure that they were all taken care of). My man! Slinging drinks faster than people could order them. Dan was great throughout the entire evening and made sure that no one ever had to wait and that I never had an empty glass.I would 100% recommend Crystal Gardens to anyone thinking about having their wedding there. Laura, Barb, Kari, Terri, Jayne, Dan and everyone else (I wish I had your names because Id call you out right now) that was working on Sunday 5/24/15 - you were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and made my wedding day incredible, perfect and memorable for all the right reasons.

Everything was wonderful. My sister had her wedding reception here. The staff did a wonderful job! Extremely attentive! I wish I would have taken note of some names of the staff working the event, but unfortunately didnt. It was September 21st 2018, a Friday night. The entire facility was clean, including the couches and chaira that sit out in the hallways. The one and only complaint I have is regarding the bathrooms. The bathrooms were very clean, toilet paper and paper towels were full. The countertops were clean/dry. But, I did not find a baby changing station. One of the diaper changing tables that folds down off the wall would have been fine. Or even a section of countertop that was big enough would have been acceptable, but unfortunately I did not find either of those. We simply used one of the couches in the hall, which worked just fine, aside from the lack of privacy. Im fully aware of the fact that babies do not need to be at some or even most of the events that take place here. But for the few that do attend events here, there should be a place where diaper changes can happen. Now does the lack of changing tables mean I wouldnt recommend this place? No. I would highly recommend this place to others. Thanks Crystal Gardens! My family and our friends had a wonderful time!

Absolutely loved our experience at Crystal Gardens. From the moment we set up our appointment to meet with Valerie to the moment we left out reception at the end of the wedding everything was perfect. They went above and beyond for us and we would highly recommend them to anyone in the future.

Great small bar area for private party. Surprisingly a must for the right event.
