The supervisor Tyla Johnson is rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. The officers that work the booth will let anyone pass somedays and then on days they feel like working will ask people to sign in.
3 o more hours waiting, easy check in, big space to parking in doors, food truck 745 am except Thursday
Checked in 30 minutes early and got a door right away, but I’ve been backed into this door for nine hours and counting. I don’t know why grocers believe they should be able to get away with this, but it’s criminal…
Worst place to unload. Friendly staff cannot make up for the lack of dock planning or work ethics here!Took a load from Ferrera Candy Co in Grand View TX. 730.00. Took them 4 hours to load causing me to be 30 minutes late to Grocers Supply. Checked in and got a door immediately only to have the crew unload other trucks on to my space and not start the unloading process on my trailer until 6 hours later. It is now 12 hours later and they are still breaking candy down. If you are an owner/op or a conciseness company driver refuse to take loads to this company! Also wasting a lot of refer fuel in an out dated dry dock that they are pulling candy from. One year ago I nearly missed the birth of my second son at the hospital because of this customer. I thought giving them a second chance would be the right thing to do. Boy...was I wrong! This place doesn’t care. Take a look at they’re docks. Look at the work environment of they’re office. Broken dry wall every where. Moist humid place with bad lightning A confusing yard to pull into for checking in. Yard dogs racing around like they are over worked. And a skeleton crew assigned 10-15 trucks. Grocers Supply is also Charging extreme lumper fees up front. So there is absolutely 0 incentive for them to get you off the dock. This place has extortion written all over the walls!
If you are delivering see the pictures I posted. Two are signs found in the truck over night parking area and the third is a screenshot of where to park and check in IF you are delivering to this location. After parking in the truck parking lot you walk across the street to the guard shack to check in. Receiving office is at door 82 or 83.
If you are late they make you reschedule. But heres the kicker. No one answers the phone for the dispatcher to reschedule. Its all done by email but no one knows the email and if you ask the security gaurds nicely for it they kick younoff the property. Ive been here for 48 hours and counting and Im supposed to be at home like 2 days ago.
STAY AWAY, THIS PLACE TAKES OVER 5 HOURS TO UNLOAD. IT DONT MATTER WHAT YOU DELIVER HERE, PRODUCE OR MEAT, THE DAYTIME RECEIVING DEPT NEEDS A SERIOUS LOOK AT, THEY ARE VERY SLOW TO UNLOAD A TRUCKLOAD OF REFRIGERATED FREIGHT, AND THEY GOT ALL THE EXCUSES IN THE WORLD AS TO WHY THEY HOLD YOU UP HERE OVER 5 HOURS. THEY DONT TREAT DRIVERS KINDLY OR RESPECTFULLY HERE NEITHER.
I got a door at 5:45 a.m. in the morning and just got my load unloaded at 1:00 p.m. very slow like a sloth very frustrating as a driver theres only one parking spot available at this facility parked across the street FYI
The service does not work well when the trucks are unloaded it takes 4 to 5 hours to deliver the papers🥵
My experience unloading, good. Friendly staff, not so much but not too bad. If you happen to be delivering for tql and you pay attention to instructions on ratecon, dont do it overnight Parking not available anymore, be there 1 hr before your appointment and go to where the GPS take you just dont try to make the u turn, turn left before into their driveway.
6+ hours do I need to say more.
After reading the reviews, I was expecting a nightmare. I had a 0600 appointment and arrived at 0545. Checkin was pretty easy, and got a door immediately. Got a call about my paperwork being done at around 0900. Not to bad in my experience
Take too long to get unload
Easy check-in.No overnight /stalling parking available.
V bad 4p 8 hours
Ive been docked for 6 hours now and it seems like theyve been taking hour long breaks every 10 minutes for my loadIf you get a load assignment for here be prepared to be here all day and nightTried calling and they do not answer the phone either
Follow blue line to park your truck, then go across the street to check in with guards (yellow line). Long wait to get unloaded, lumper fees and they accept cards, comchecks - NO CASH (6$ per pallet if i think)You will need to wait more time until they mark all pallets and stock them, after that you will get your paperwork. 2* only for overnight park.
Place is the worst! 10 hours to unload 10 pallets! No room to back into the docks at the end of the building. Horrible service from the receiving desk. They will try to screw you out of detention. The lady called me at 9.15am to tell me the lumper amount, but wrote 8am on the paperwork so they wouldnt have to pay. She said she called me earlier and I didnt answer. Itold her thats bullshit. Asked me to show her my phone, and as I showed her the call info, she didnt even look at it and said I aint gonna argue wit ya and changed the time, and she still wipe the time she called me, not the actual time I was checking out. Tell your brokers right away that they have to pay for the whole detention, not just what these people lie about. BTW, BE CAREFUL BUYING GROCERIES IN THIS AREA OR ANYWHERE THIS COMPANY OPERATES. NOT ONE PERSON CHECKED THE TEMPERATURE OF THE PRODUCE, THE SEAL ON THE TRAILER OR THE TEMP RECORDER THAT CAME WITH THE LOAD! I HAD 2 DROPS, DALLAS AND HOUSTON. NEITHER LOCATION CHECKED ANYTHING TO MAKE SURE THE TEMPERATURE WAS CORRECT OR THAT THE LOAD WASNT TAMPERED WITH. I WOULDNT EAT THEIR PRODUCE IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!
3131 doesnt exist anymore. They tore that building down. The new building is just across the street from the old building. They No longer have over night parking. Can only show up 1 hour prior to delivery. There is a line to get into this place in the morning. Takes quite away to get in took me 45 mins once in the driveway you form 2 lines. also took over 7 hours to get unloaded. Place is unsafe and stupid
3 hours here, not done yet. I missed my next appointment.
Security guy at the gate called Nelson could use some customer relation classes . Even with appointment sheet and time he threatened to call police for trespassing on a delivery that was already set.
If youre a truck driver and youre coming here for delivering. Dont plan on getting in a big hurry to leave and make sure you bring something to eat. The people are nice but its just a very slow unloading process. 5 hours for 670 cases
Not very courdious
At least I found few portable restrooms by the door 89, right around the corner
This is one of the slowest places in the world. They take forever to unload you and take forever to give you your paperwork. First and last time delivering here. Better make sure you got a good clock or you are messed up..
I can see I learned a lot working at this place for a whole year. Had some great experience with employees. Had some pretty challenging experience with the management. The employees okay but the management was horrible. Sometimes we will work up to 14 to 20 hours even if you try to go home theyll get upset most of the times he was like slave work to be honest. If you want to make money and go forward but if you have a family dont work here.
Awesome experience no complaints
As someone who has delivered here on the C&S wholesale side many times now and been in the trucking industry over ten years I can say, It consistently takes them longer with 5 pallets or less to unload and get the paperwork back to the office than anyone else I regularly deliver to. For better perspective it doesnt take 6 hours or more for 5 pallets or less. 22 pallets=6hours approximately depending on piece count.
They have 24 hrs parking at Dixie Dr.They offloaded my truck and I received papers in 3 hrs that is not bad for frozen food warehouse.Parking to the dock was easy .Workers just average normal. After reading all negative reviews I expected worse here but experienced good service overall.
This place is horrible. Never.. I mean never take a load for this place. I honestly want to give them a -10. No one in this facility has a clue. They will f up your whole clock. Checked in at 02:29am... Checked out at 10:30am.. All for 2 pallets. This place is trash. Hell they made us miss our delivery time for our next load. They caused us to lose money. If you have a choice. Dont choose them.. Especially if you have other drop off after them.. Plan to spend some wasted time there.... You have been WARNED
Aa a delivery driver I am very satisfied with the availability of on site parking while waiting for my appointment and the allowance of parking after delivering to finish out any DOT mandated off duty time. The staff were all friendly and cordial. But, and this is a big but, it took well over 10 hours to get unloaded. Drivers arriving after me on both sides of me finished before me. This sucks big time thus the one star review.
Another ghetto place with rude staff everything here made against driver was delivering watermelons came strict on my appointment was empty in 5 hours everyone from security to receiving office talking to you without respect like we(drivers) owe them something .Ill deliver here again without any problem as long broker paying extra 700-1000$ for waisted time and nerves on the top of regular rate to this area .the only good thing is hey have 24hr parking which is you must park first then walk to the security guard to check in .Dont come 15 min earlier than your appointment .
They have overnight parking. Entrance to check in from grand road - dixi drive. In 1:50am out 5:20amNot bad. They were very polite.
Been here twice. Both times were great. Staff and security is nice and curtious. Plenty of backing room. In and out in under 2 hours.
I can not believe that the executive decision- makers think this operation is efficient for all stakeholders. Additionally, their slop container for waste products leaks across the pavement where all drivers walk through to reach the receiving door, which doesnt have a sign. The check-in process of U-turns and verbal directions to a holding area several blocks away plus fighting traffic to enter and exit is unconscionable, at best. CEO and COO should be fired. Third-party security and lumper service (organized crime) are the worst ideas to be implemented by the transportation industry.
Ive been searching for fresh fruit (specific items) from west Texas, for several weeks; and I was finally directed to this distribution center in Houston, by one of their suppliers that Id contacted by phone. I received the info I needed from one of C&S Warehouses buyers (Keith W)., who was most helpful; and he gave me the store names where I could locate the items I was looking for. He also advised that if I had other questions, I could contact him again. Nice job.Thank you, Shirley M.
First off the lumpers are Capstone Logistics. Thats an automatic 1 star. Appointment was at 9pm, bumped the dock at 830p. They didnt start unloading me until after 10p. Now its 1230am unloading has been finished over an hour and a half and the product is completely off the dock. Paperwork still not ready but Ive seen 3 trucks that came after me leave 45 mins ago.***UPDATE*** Took a second load here a week later because I needed to get home. Arrived at 820 pm, appointment was 900 pm. Went to guard shack at 838 and he gave the usual paperwork to fill out and said come back in 20 minutes. I went back to the shack at 850pm and returned the signed paperwork. He took forever to get everything together the wrote on my paperwork that I arrived and checked in at 907 pm. I use Google to track my location so everywhere I go has a timestamp on it. They can keep lying if they want to.
30 minutes late due to long line in check in and reschedule the load. Total B.S
If you have time to waste its a good place to deliver. People where pleasant, but slow. Giving them 1 star is over rating it
Overnight parking available. From 288S, take Holcomb exit, turn right. In about 3 blocks, turn right onto Grand Blvd, turn right onto Dixie Dr, over night parking first driveway on left. Check-in booth is across from the overnight parking lot on the right. Everything went well for me. Fast unloading. Every day is different. Drive safe!
They do not know how to communicate with drivers. My appt was at 10pm they unloaded me quick but had me running around to get my papers. No one was in the office then one person would direct me to another person and no one knew what to tell me. Finally at 8:30 am the next day! I stood by the person in charge and did not leave his sight till he gave me my papers!
Middle of the road typical grocery receiver. Delivery entrance is at grand and Dixie. Be sure to park across street and walk over. Morning guard is in no hurry to do anything. They seem nice enough though.
If the entire country was run like this place we would be on par with Zimbabwe within a month. Backwards, slow, asinine process has me wondering how they get anyone to deliver here? I will not be taking a load here for less than double my usual rate. At least that way my time loss and aggravation would be worth it. Anything under $4 a mile wouldnt convince me to take a load here.
Lied from the beginning and talk down to because I have IBS I was told 10 break instead of Texas rule is 8 HR break dont give enough time to rest for me but was told it was ok and thay work it out that was lie wont be here long.... But my trainer eplan everything doing everyone else job fair r that I give 3 stars
Good company too work for also have the best benefits Awesome team management and trainers still a employee at C&S too this dayCan’t wait to select at our new Building
I come here quite often and the unloading is getting worse. The pro is that there is a bullpen to sleep at prior to unloading, the con is that for less than 1300 cases of cereal it has taken over 7 hours to unload. I can personally throw a floor load off by hand quicker than these idiots. Unfortunately we have an account here and are not permitted to unload. All hopes of a timely unload are just a pipe dream.
Current order Selector here so I will post my review as anonymous. Long story short this is the absolute worst place I’ve ever worked. The day of my interview they had a group of us wait for about 5 hours just for a 5 minute interview. They seemed like they had forgotten about us or just didn’t care about their potential new employees. When we asked the nearby trainers what was taking so long they replied with a smirk saying they weren’t sure themselves and that we should just wait it out. This was on a Wednesday when people may have had other important matters to attend to but they paid no mind to our personal lives. Now to actually work here is terrible. They set intense goals for you to meet and have no problem with firing people or threatening to fire you. They are very unprofessional and only seem to care about the workplace “favorites”. The facility itself is atrocious. I’ve seen countless mice and roaches running around casually. I’ve even came across a mouse nest in one of the products’ packaging. I wouldn’t be surprised if this place has caused a rat infestation in one of the stores they deliver to because of this. They don’t give you the full 40 hours and the supporting team are all rude and have a very sarcastic tone when they speak to you. I would give this place a negative star if it were possible and I wouldn’t recommend grocery stores ordering from this place. This is coming from someone who sees first hand what goes on with the products being sent to the store. Do not apply here. Best thing about this job is the wellness center that’s on site
So far I like the limited parking. Not caring for the unpleasant female where you check in. Im sure the rest of the day here will be better. Thats sarcasm. Been here before. Forgot about the treatment here or I wouldnt have taken this load.
Some Rude people in receiving office.Make sure you bring your own pen other wise the lady in the corner will bit your head off. Fyi.....why go to work with the attitude STAY HOME.
This place is strict on appts and take their sweet time unloading a truck but on a positive note they have a 24hr parking available opposite the guard shack.
Slow and lazy. Lacking communication. Worst place for a driver. Especially if you have e logs. Already lost 1 load. Good thing c + s is buying them. My advice. Hire new management.
Would not recommend for delivery, takes forever for unloading, lumper fee is high. It should not take any company 6+hours to unload and count. They should get you out quick as possible. I may have given one star to write review but would give zero and not even stars, probably the middle finger too. Avoid loads!!!!!!!
This is the worst place to deliver a load, if youre a truck driver be prepared to deal with extremely slow warehouse workers and rude a$$ office workers who dont care if youre done and havent gotten a call for 6 hours, or dont care if they are gonna make you late for your next load. If I could give negativestars I would. The facility is disgusting, dirty, stinks, and bathrooms are atrocious, I wouldnt let my dog go in there. As far snacking your trailer, unless youre a day cab be ready to damage your truck. Good luck to drivers who come here.
If u are delivering here for the first time when u get off the highway and u arrived at the destination on ur right u wil see a gate it’s not checking go pass the railway make a right where it says no thru trucks at stop sign make a right go at the parking on ur left park ur truck walk towards the checking gate Expect to stay money hours
People was very nice just it takes forever to get unleaded it took almost 7 hours to get unloaded
Someone needs to step up & bring this place into the 21st century. Forget high tech, they havent gotten low tech. Reminds me of the Islands since the feel of Hawaian time is everywhere. Nobody in a rush over here. No orange vest needed, no one moving fast enuff to run over you. 0700 am apt, door @ 0815, unload @ 11:45 & still waiting for bills @12:45. Houston we have a problem. Bring your chair & SPF.
If you have a cdl come join us and make some good $$... We deliver to grocery stores and small stores. We use manual pallet jacks. Home every night.
The warehouse facility needs to be leveled and rebuilt but the service prompt and freindly and theres overnight parking
Theres no one around for guidance. Took 4 hours to get unloaded and then 2 hours to get my paperwork. Had to pay high unloading fee. Had to walk all the way around building to check in. Not a good experience. Also Found a employee sleeping on the toilet in bathroom. This place sucks!
Been here since 20:00 its now 3:46 and no idea how much longer I have to wait the capstone supervised giving me the run around about my paperwork. I hate delivery to grocery dc. They are always a joke.
Not so bad, spent about 5 hours here they do have an overnight parking and staging area.
After 5 hrs still got half a trailer to goIts beyond unacceptableUpdate. 8 hrs nothing
11 pm appt only delivering 4 pallets!!! Almost been 4 hrs are you kidding!!! Thank God I dont have full load 👹
Great customer service. Really nice people! Hate they are closing the Holcombe location soon.
Told get in 38... If trailer there then grab next available... Went to 39 backed in & go to check-in & told thats broken... You can go 36-51 but not 39, 44, 46 or 48 they are all broken... Well those only docks open ... So I go back in & tell them... They say ok, well have someone come pull a trailer out that was an hr ago...
Appointment was at 9 pm arrived at 7:30 pm gave me a door at 9 pm it’s 3:45 am n I’m still here the pallets didn’t need breakdown the lumper service was prepaid and still can’t get empty. The receiver in charge has been sitting outside in front of my truck talking on the phone for a while already
Appointment was 0300, Were finished with papers in hand at 0515. By 0530 we were headed out the gate. This was a full load of frozen. They started unloading as soon as we checked in. No lumper fee for us. All personnel we talked to were polite. There was some confusion about where to go after initial check in, but it was a minor issue.
From the beginning at the front guard shack To the receiving office everybody was friendly and nice got the door right away and was empty within couple hours. Read signs respect them they will respect you have your com checks or payment for lumpers ready.
This is the far worst company we’ve ever delivered to. We arrived 20 minutes ahead of our appointment time which was scheduled for 20:00 and was given a dock number at that time. Note, we only had 7 pallets that were probably stacked to higher than 2 water cases high on a pallet. It is now 5:14 am and the guy is still unloading our truck. These have to be some of the most incompetent people in the world that Ive seen in my time. And the fact that corporate is okay with paying these guys whatever it is that theyre getting paid to do one truck a night says a lot about them also. They have zero consideration as to what money we are missing by spending entire clock shifts at their docks. Now I must say if I was an hourly paid driver this would be perfect for riding the clock but being that I get paid by the miles, that’s detrimental to my family and I lives. Someone should get fined for this inconsiderate bs.
Finding the place was difficult and If your dropping off a load be prepared to wait several hrs easily 3 to 6, staff is very vague about how long it will be and are no help. The only plus is a food truck comes in a few times a day with tasty mexican food.
Nice people, but extremely under staffed. I had to help unload my truck after paying a lumper, so i wouldnt be there until 7 am the next morning because they only had 1 person on the dock and my load was a floor load. Never pulling any leads back there again. I lost money and time on that load.
The worst place in the whole United States. For sure Im not coming back here. Rude people it take a least everybody 2h just to finish the checking process. This folks cant even provide a pen.And you have to fill up everything on that comcheck or other check. Horrible horrible place
Great place to work. Especially since C & S bought the company lots of growth.
Overnight parking, nice people, no organization, it takes to long 7 am appointment 1pm and still here
The reviews are true! If youre backing into docks above 110,then be ready for hell! I saw a driver jammed up,and couldnt move. Theres damaged fences, poles, and rails throughout. Shipping wasnt bad, just the lumper was in a ill mood.
No parking at all for trucks
In and out in 4 hours overnight parking got here early had no problrms. better places to deliver not bad for first time here hope I have the similar experience next time.
Hands down the worst place Ive ever delivered to. All the negative reviews are true. The check in process is completely ridiculous theres absolutely no organization
Dirty place inside and outside and if you happen to run across a load coming here avoid by all means been here 1 day and 12hrs still counting and havent got unloaded yet or I will be posting about the broker on all loadboads they themselves know this place when you get here they stop answering their phones at one time they even hung up on me all employees at this place are very unprofessional when it comes to cleanliness I feel sorry for ppl who buy their food was on dry food side I cant imagine the stink in the perishable whs if the desire is filthy how about perishable......will never ever ever ever come back here no buy anything from their stores
Appointment at 1 am; got here at 10pm; one hour at the guard booth but got a door right away so in at 11:30; really tight spots so be careful; took me about an hour to clear the lumper check so at 1am I was back at the truck and they were working on it; told me to check back in 2 hours but they woke me up at 4am and was out if there. Slept till morning in the waiting area. Not bad overall, just too much screwing around with the lumper check.
Its the worst experience I have had in 21yrs of delivering to a grocery warehouse. I couldnt write enough bad things( stay away)
4/7/2020 Appt 7am/Arrived/Partial Unload/Departed. SP- 7901...
Good luck backing into Door #88. Watch out for fence and the curb and people constantly walking through that area.
There’s a guy named Gerald that’s racist against Hispanic people, he only hires young black women for his own gratification, and there’s an older white lady that’s security she will not hire Hispanic people, she says she use to be a teacher, and she hated Hispanic kids
I call to check the status of my application and the lady cuts me off and tell me to check my email doesnt give me a chance to speak. Worst services Ive experienced in job hunting 30 thumbs down......
Complete disaster. They gonna waste your time, if you are here to deliver.
Its raining, roof is full of holes, and puddles everywhere in the warehouse, and we as truckdrivers have to walk thru this to get to the other side, no wet floor signs, and forklifts running in and out of puddles, this place is a very hazardous place to deliver, Lumper service is lazy and slow, I wouldnt let lumper management cut my yard, i took pictures throughout the warehouse of the damn water puddles, definitely going to speak to upper management
Yes they have overnight parking and yes you can show up early. I took one star off because the restroom is horrible and this place is filthy. I feel bad for any lady truckers who dont have the convenience of the gallon jug. I guess I was lucky though because my apt was 5am, they told me to check in at 4 so I did. I was assigned a door and bumped it around 4:30 and checked in at door 52. I got lucky and got door 56 right next to the office. I smiled and was polite and got semi-politeness given back to me. I guess that did it because Im being unloaded and its 4:45. 15 minutes early. Oh btw my lumper was $264. A little pricy but at least they are working on me!
Would be a good place to drop off only if they teach to this people treat the driver good manner they treat you like animal we come tired and they are soooo Rude oohh ooh i forgot to tell you this you have to carry your own pen because if you dont have it have to come back to your truck which is like a mile a way from you may you have one pen with you ok!!!!!!??
Unloaded and out 2 hours after appointment time. At the exit ramp turn right on road past Burger King. Go to stop and turn left. Overnight parking available on the left, walk bills to guard shack on the left across road. No facilities on overnight lot
The worse place to work at, they say youre guaranteed 40 hours but only get 32, people get hurt here on a daily, supervisors are very unprofessional, they set production to an almost impossible rate, if you get hurt they just give you a shot and send you back to work not to mention all there doctors are paid off. Is on a bad side of town so you can imagine all the violence, and unprofessional people..... Please do not apply here I hope this rating will save you the trouble
A friendly experience with a helpful knowledgeable group.
5 hrs for 3 pallets first time. 2nd time 6 hrs 4 pallets You wont get worst treatment anywhere else . Im Never coming back . They lie about your check in time and out to avoid detention they lost my lumper ticket . told me to pull out while someone was still inside the trailer.
Big placeLoad us fairly fast
Worst place to come to unload $294.00 to unload seriously in top of that slow as heck and park is a headache not enough space to park beside the super nice lady that check you in she is the best thing about this place, the rest is so indescribable but in the bad way. This place should be called drivers cemetery got here at 5 am still waiting to be unloaded at 9 am!!!!!!
Great Company. One of the Top 10 companies in Houston, Texas.
The worst place todo download. They change the appoiment forma 2 or 3 days afterwords without any explantion and they keep you atte the door for scueral hours. Is not never return
