Good place to bring recycling here. Glass, plastic, paper and steel

Went by today to drop off glass, note says that as of June 12, they are no longer accepting recycling drop-offs of any kind. Gate is closed. They need to update their website.

I go there pretty regularly to take small amounts of recycling but the ladies in the office are very helpful giving information on their other services like shredding & disposal of larger amounts of recycling. Its pretty amazing what the Greenstar employees do there, watching them at work is fascinating--they work very hard and theyre super nice. Its also sort of horrifying how much waste we produce:-(

I have been coming here for months to drop off my recycling. Its very convenient to where I work and it Saves me from having to pay for recycling pickup from the city. I take all my plastic bags to HEB, everything else comes here. I typically come once a week to keep stuff from stacking up too much.

Possibly the worst work experience I’ve ever had. Not something I would ever suggest anyone to go too. It may just be the way they delegate operations or the left over people they placed in charged. From the constant revolving door of temp workers. Place needs actual training to best service the facility and some type of system to not over work the majority of their labor force. Again worst experience in all my years of working .

When coming into some place new its nice to have signs, stating what to do or where to go...You wont find that here, so as a truck driver let me help. ( For pickups only ) 1st scale has a block to step out of truck, 2nd one doesnt, so stop before pulling on to scale. Walk up to window give your info. and pull forward, back of building has plenty of room to turn around. Pull back out on street, take a right next gate turn right, make a wide turn as going back to scale, so you can back into dock easier. We all have our own backing technic so will let you choose whats best for you here. Looking at Google maps, I didnt want to risk hitting anything so for me pulling back out on street to go back to scale for paperwork was the only option.Good luck, this place isnt semi friendly, 4 Lane road out front and next to a stop light, making very hard to do what you need to do!Hope this helps some of you...Also hours on gate says, opens at 5am, Google says 6am, dispatch told me 6:30am.

Really hard now unless you are tall and strong. All containers except glass are more than 6 ft high. If I can lift them up, I have no control to get my bag back or not have the stuff fall on my head. They no longer have any lower openings except for glass.

Place is a complete joke. They love to make truck drivers suffer. Leaving you waiting for very long times and than when they call you they want you to block 4 lanes of traffic to gwt into a dock so close together you can not open your door without hitting the truck next to you. Mirror was hit by the trucker next to me when he left. Than finally when get done getting loaded (1 hour and 1/2 later on top of the 2 hours you sat waiting) you get told the guy loaded you light. So you have to back off the scale and redock. They dont care if your out of time. Place is ran by idiots.

No curbside glass pick up in my neighborhood, so went this facility today. Turned in to the address off of Brittmore. Could not find any bins. No signage directing the public. Drove around for at least 5 minutes. Went to the management office, door was locked. Drove to the back, and found a bin for glass. Unloading, and noticed an entrance on another street to access the bins from the other side. Leaving and a woman with a walkie-talkie in hand flags me down. No MASK. I roll my window down, and she tells me I cannot unload here, etc. etc. I have to go around to the other side. I replied that, yes, I figured that out, and rolled up my window since she had NO mask on. As I am driving off, she starts to scream, Dont do that again! Perhaps some customer service training coupled with some anger management, finished off with some training on using PPE.

Been dropping off my recyclables here for years. Been a while, since i moved further away, but i came by because i had an SUV full of cardboard. Cleaner, neater and more organized than ever. Could only ask for a bit more room to maneuver the SUV around to get in and out. This is also a full sized industrial recycling plant for businesses, municipalities, etc.

3 hours sitting and Im still not starting to get loaded. Complete waste of time. Nobody seems to speak English so I cant even find any information. I dont look forward to having garbage in a nice new trailer. They do seem to have favorites they load ahead of you. The dock seems to be empty of people most of the time. Must be nice to get paid to goof off. I used to work on a dock, we had 60 mins to load or unload. That was with a manual hydraulic pallet jack. Id think forklifts are faster. This is the biggest issue in Trucking: Wasted time!

I have been doing this for over 4 yrs, great place until past few weeks.. Now they had timings in place which is very difficult in going there. I sometimes do it on late Sunday evening, they open. But now they are closed. This need to change. I am not complaining but I am raising the concern. We dont have time to accommodate their timings.I have to start looking out for some one else whom accept on Sundays or late evening days.

Love the new management for keeping the business site clean and organized (as much as a recycle center can be neat). However, dont like the new shortened hours for individual persons recycling. No way I can get to the site by 5pm on a weekday and with only open on Saturday till noon, makes it tough to clean your house from recycling and deliver it on Saturday afternoon, as now the site is closed. My neighborhood uses Waste Management, current owners of location on Briittmore, but the neighborhood association doesnt contract for recycling; so I like to take it in weekly... new hours at Brittmore make it difficult - may have to hunt around for new collection center on the west side.

Just dropped off recyclables and saw a truck haul off paper. There were compacted into cubes and put on an open flatbed with no cover. Pieces of paper just started flying everywhere. You are causing more litter. Cover when you transport.
