I recall interviewing with The Womens Resource of Greater Houston when I first relocated to Houston. During the initial phone interview and my submission of application docs, they seemed impressed. However, upon showing up for the in-person interview, the energy from Kelly Keith was quite negative and she easily displayed her disdain....my assumption, because I was a Black applicant. I noticed the office was all white, so it made sense that she would show her dislike. That was years ago and as I have navigated my career in the nonprofit sector, I from time to time would see the Womens Resource actively hiring. I noticed one thing, when they finally hired Black women, these Black women would never stay long. This organization is a revolving door.As we know, some women from the dominant culture have a natural dislike for Black women specifically. It is sad, an organization designed to empower women but it is obvious the work culture is only favorable to certain women.
Attentive personnel, equipped with valuable intellectual resources to empower women from all walks of life.
Acceptable organization which upholds womens rights
