I have no problems with this medicare plan.I was surprise when they called, to remind me to get all my yearly check ups. When i call there are always very helpful, and there ask if there is any else they could help me with.
I work for a Dr. office, and I have to say that this is the worst insurance plan when it comes to verifying members plan. They keep you on hold for 20-30 mins at at time, the reps are from another country and you cant understand them half the time. I just cant believe it takes this long to verify a patients plan! And the portal they have for providers doesnt even work!!!
I’d like to give them no star. The customer service # sends you outside the USA. They speak English very little. The USA agents try to help but the information they have on doctors, etc are not updated timely. It takes weeks to get a referral for a specialist
I have Well are and its terrific.
After being set up with 3!! doctors, they told me day before appt. that they no longer accepted wellcare . I was then sent to a dr in an industrial area, the office was in a food pantry warehouse!!! Dr. laughed at my main concerns then wouldnt even address others. I ended up in the emergency room for help. DO NOT ENROLL!
I was with Texan Plus Medicare for 10 years and found out it got spoiled particularly for the last 2-3 years. Communications has been automated to the point that it became next to impossible to reach the right person you need for help. In 2018 for over half a year I could not get approval for MRI which my physician and neurosurgeon required. When I tried to reach the Case Manager 6 times I was switch from one ph. # to another until 6th # has not answered at all. So, I got no help when I desperately need it (barely could walk). Texan Plus to me has turned to TEXAN MINUS CARELESS. I can not recommend it, waste of your time & money!
Web expirence was creepy. I wasnt even sure I had completed the interaction correctly. There was no confirmation by email, text, or otherwise. Not until a week later I get a bot call wanting a health survey did I begin to suspect I might have successfully enrolled. Wellcare has some stuff to work out.
Poor customer support. Call if you have an entire day to constantly repeat yourself and be transferred around to individuals who each ask you questions for 20 minutes, before again transferring you from one country to another. Referrals are frequently questionable.
This company is a joke! Not only do they treat the members & providers like dirt, but they treat their employees just as bad. Im sure WellCare Health Plans, Inc. can place 1st in Worst Places To Work every year. WellCare Health Plans, Inc. exemplifies qualities of how not to run a business as well as the Appeal to Tradition fallacy. Every technological entity that you will touch at WellCare Health Plans, Inc. is outdated. Furthermore, this is the least innovative workplace ive ever encountered. During my time here, I had the opportunity to witness shoddy praxis, which in turn taught me to take the inverse approach with future job duties. Moreover, being in the most minimal thought-provoking environment, my collective intelligence may have dropped by 1 or 2 IQ points. In fact, I did establish a passel of relationships with co-workers from various departments that I miss conversing with, but this was merely not enough to alter my sentiments of how much I loathed working there. The management at WellCare Health Plans, Inc. was subpar. I could personally go to ANY fast food restaurant chain and find better management. Especially the management in Provider Operations. You can learn from them. Learn how to be unproductive, unprepared & unprofessional. In short, I would not refer my worst enemy to this place.*If you’re a WellCare employee with a UAM manager…good luck!
This company is a joke. You should make sure that when you take over someones utilization review department that you are actually ready before the take over date. Instead I have literally wasted hours of my life that I will never get back to speak to incompetent people that do not know how to work a phone much less submit an authorization since I keep getting transferred to voicemails and to reps that try to put me on hold to input information and hang up on me instead due to a phone error. I will be letting your patients know that what they pay for is a joke and WellCare is only looking out for their money and not their actual health. I hope when your employees need something done they get to wait just like members they are not able to provide services for. Literally if I could rate you ZERO, I would. The care and assistance you provide is unacceptable.

Every medication subscribed by my doctors is rejected by Wellcare. They are essentially dictating all medicine I take. I dont plan to keep them.
Only because you have to give it a star or Id give negative 10, this company sucks!!! Their customer service is beyond terrible, the people dont know what they are talking about and when you ask to speak to a supervisor they hang up on you
