Ive been chronically homeless practically every since I moved to Houston in 2009. If I am not mistaken I have been in the HMIS since 2010 after losing my home in Sugarland. This agency gave me a housing coupon in 2018 after several years or months on a waiting list. After being denied for an apartment eight times the Housing Coalition took the voucher thus leaving me homeless. One would think that the Coalition would have apartment communities that they contract with to provide housing. Especially those apartment communities that are considered low income tax credit properties. The coalition assigns one to a housing navigator who supposedly assist you in finding a property that will accept you and your voucher. This was not the scenario with me. Overall my history with them is not one that can be commendable. Their entire staff should be replaced. Just like the Beacon, their staff are simply getting a check, theyre burned out and done have a heart for what they are doing. If you dont have a heart for what youre doing you should admit it and move on. Its truly sad. Really, who evaluates these people; their performance levels are not on the spreadsheet Im sure. Lindsey is dry and burned out. She never wear a smile. I went to their location a few days ago and ended up with a fever and chills for two days. Clearly the environment and grounds are contaminated. Sidewalks need to be power-washed and sanitized. There services and operations need to be re-structured. They no longer provide a need nor do they serve a purpose. They are enabling the homeless to remain homeless.
The representative, James, was informed of a nonprofit acting fraudulently. Referred the homeless man back to the fraudulent case manager. Homeless man was referred to the Coalition prior. Politics.
Typical non-profit org. Salaried Management and minimum wage employees or volunteers. They only help themselves and their own friends and families. They dont do anything for the homeless of Houston.
They only give you can goods like peas greens beans and corn stuff that you can get at other food pantries. Not complaining about it but some hve too much of that
The staff is not prepared to handle the number of people that need their services Houston more resources to help the lower income residents and people trying to get off the streets if you have a church outreach please help they do attempt to help the homeless who want a better life than the streets of downtown Houston
If this is for the homeless . Help them not just pick and chose. First one person should not have the power to play God. Then put other down for trying to help
There is no such thing as emergency help can you be serious you really want ratings
Great services, benefitting the homeless!
I like the environment
Excellent very good cervical thank you very much for helping our community blessings
