My email to them:I got a call that yall were out of the size 15n6 that I ordered (I actually ordered 15n20), despite calling your store to make sure you had it in stock. My order didnt get filled for three days. I was on a boat with my kids and did not have my debit card. I asked if I could get the next size up for free since your website was incorrect, and was told she could only take $4 off, leaving a balance of $4. I would need my debit card in order to get the steel that I actually wanted. However since I didnt have my card and would not be back on shore until after dark, it would delay my order another day. So I agreed to go with the smaller steel. This was my first time ordering with your business. I run 2 businesses myself and I would never jeopardize losing a client for $4. I have paid 100X that to keep one. Especially a new client whos 1st order was over $150. Im not happy with my service.Their reply:We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. 15N6 is our catalog number for 15N20 .065 x 1-1/2. We will correct that as soon as possible.

Inside the store has been closed for over a year. I won’t buy any products until the store opens back up.

This is a great store. Their staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Watch out for the address your GPS will take you two blocks away, theyre located in the office complex on the corner at Beltway 8.

I ordered some 1095 steel for some knife builds I had planned. They 1st shipment they sent they made a mistake and shipped it wrong. I called them and spoke to Andrew and he was very nice and said they would fix their mistake. From there I worked with Brandon via email, he was also very nice and got me my return label so I could ship the wrong order back. They then reshipped my order correctly and everything turned out just fine. Everyone I dealt with was very helpful and I plan to work with them again in the future.

July 1, 2021 still closed for Curbside only?

So in these times I decided to stop going with mass online manufacturers and suppliers for my knife materials... being a veteran I said I need to be more consciences of buying local and supporting the community. Bad idea to try it with these guys first order I made with these guys they forgot my steel, then had the audacity to argue with me that a two, 2 foot chunk of steel where in a 12 paper bag. After looking around they found it inside, then argued that the 15n20 was in the bag... it wasnt.So today I show up to get a second chance order with them, handle scales are not G10 like I ordered, and are 1/8-1/4 off on the width dimensions.... sorry guys you dropped the ball twice, pandemic or not this aint gonna work. Get your act together, and back to online orders for me.Update: gave these guys a 3rd shot, order came out much better this time. It was correct, and in a timely manner. So 1 out of 3 so far. Ill be making another order again here soon to see how yall do. Dont let me down and youll have my business.

Since I was driving thru Houston yesterday I decided to drop by to pick up some 1080, brass bar stock and sanding belts. Had a good time looking at the huge assortment of handle material while I was waiting for the young man to fill my order. When everything was ready I noticed several deep scratches on the end of the brass bar stock. I asked the young, thin gentleman if he happened to have a bar of brass that did not have any scratches and he said no, all the brass we have is scratched and informed me that it could be ground off easily. Glad he added that I didnt know brass could be ground down...(sarc)(BTW, the scratches were deep enough to catch your fingernail in)At hearing that I told him never mind I didnt want the brass. He then went to the back, put 4-5 pieces of brass barstock on the counter and said thats all we got.The first bar I picked up was pristine, without 1 scratch. I said Ill take this one and concluded the transaction.I dont know if he was just trying to dump this marred brass off on me hoping I wouldnt inspect it or if he just didnt care but he obviously told an untruth when he said all their brass was scratched.I dont know the name of the salesperson who waited on me but he needs some serious coaching in sales. From now on I will wait till my order is big enough to justify the $18 flat shipping charge Jantz Supply charges and order from there. If I want to put up with shady, unpolite kids Ill stop in an upscale coffee shop but I sure didnt expect it at a place called Texas Knife Makers Supply.

They have a wide variety of handle stock as well as blade blanks of all descriptions. They keep a lot of things in stock and can order other things from a selection of catalogs. The only thing I dont recommend is their knife kits. I bought a lock back kit here and it was missing parts and the parts it did have wouldnt fit together properly. Ill limit my purchases here in the future to scales and blanks.

Ive been coming here for a year and definitely recommend the quality of their materials and friendliness of the staff. Quite an exotic selection of handle materials as well as annealed steels.
