To be honest, I can be a bit fussy and perfectionist so going with I company I didnt know had me wondering what Id wind up with. But I will definitely be using Colonial for future projects. From jump Ed and Mark were plainspoken, personable and direct. They listened, answered my questions and never once attempted to sell or upsell me anything. They respected my budget, took their time as I asked, safeguarded the crate I built and shipped the lamp in and returned it perfectly restored with a beautiful finish that reflects its age
Mark and Edward run a classic metals restoration shop. Not only are they friendly and a delight to work with, they know their business exceptionally well and are delighted to take the time to convey it to customers. For example, they dont just dip a hinge and polish it; they disassemble it, and then clean and polish the individual pieces. They know more about the precise construction of the items that their clients bring in to them than their clients do. For the Scottish clock pictured, they even silver-soldered for me the striking arm, which had snapped, rendering the chime inoperative. If you take enormous pride in the brass and silver pieces that you possess, these are the folks who can clean and polish them, providing you with a finish that is show condition. The antique desk shown was built in the late 1700s. I am told that the only other one of its kind is (or was) in the White House. Removing the brass fixtures was a meticulous chore in and of itself. The escutcheons are of a thin brass, which I feared might get destroyed if placed against a polishing wheel. Mark and Edward assured me that such would not be permitted to occur. They were right! So, now we have an updated antique that will hopefully survive me by many, many years. Thanks to the expertise of CB!
Colonial Brass restored a fireplace set (bumper, andirons, screen and tools) from the late 1800’s for me. They took it completely apart, polished everything and even fabricated a few missing parts. The result was outstanding - something 150 years old is now as good as new - if they still made things like this fire set any more. So it is really better than new! They are busy, but the quality of the work is worth the wait.
Have to give Colonial Brass 5 Stars. Wanted to surprise my lovely by having her set of 60 plus years flatware refinished and polished. Picked it up today and it was worth the wait. EXCELLENT, EXCEPTIONAL, and QUALITY Work. Im tempted to go find silver or other metals just to be awed by their work..Highly Recommend.
The people at colonial brass are very accommodating and they do a great job. I highly recommend them
My mother who is 75 years old gave me a silverware set that she inherited by her Aunt over 40 years ago. My great aunt received this silverware set as a wedding gift in the early 40s. This set was manufactured by 1847 Rogers Bros and was still housed in the original wooden box. The silverware was severely tarnished. My husband decided to surprise me with the restoration of this set. He took it to Colonial Brass who did an EXCEPTIONAL job restoring this silverware. When I saw it I was speechless with tears in my eyes. This company made each piece look brand new. There are not enough stars available for this company. Amazing job!!!!
Awesome restoration work on my Cutler mailbox. Colonial Brass kept me informed on the various options available during the restoration and guided the few decisions necessary. Quality work and quality people. Restoration made the mailbox look brand new. Highly recommended if you need their services.
Our Liturgical Arts Service has worked with Mark for the last 12 years and they have helped us refinish items for our customers and for our own chapel. The integrity of the CB staff is exceptional and they are miracle workers with many of the items we have brought to them and seen in their showroom. If they make a mistake, they fix it. If they find something that needs fixing on your project, they will fix it for you. When one of our pieces was discovered to be made of several metals (after the stripped and polished it) they brass plated it to such a beautiful finish that those who have seen it were impressed and asked, When did you get a new one? No, its not new, Colonial Brass just cleaned it up and made it look like new. When we asked them if they would put a link on their website to ours since they serve so many church communities, they did not hesitate to help us out.If you have something made of metal that has lost its beauty or maybe came into a dent or two over the years, Colonial Brass can restore it to its original beauty.
Working with Mark and Edward has been a great pleasure. I am working on a 1910 brass-era car and Mark has been a tremendous help in polishing and plating some of the parts. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Colonial Brass for all your brass polishing and plating needs. They are the best in Houston definitely go the extra mile to satisfy customers. Mike Hanson
I first started using Colonial Brass about 2008. They were recommended to me. Tom and Mark actually drove out to my parish church in Bloomington; several hundred miles from Houston and loaded up their car (it was like a small HHR). That refinishing still looks like the day they did it. I have since done several parish collections (chalices, tabernacles, candle stands, monstrance, book stands), and personal brass pieces too. They restored an antique pair of French candlesticks for me that turned out great, and even polished my standing crucifix as a surprise. Mark and his team are always respectful, honest about what can be done, and as with Tom and now with Mark - fair and reasonable on pricing. I recommend their work.
These guys are true craftsman. Our family has owned an old and very beat up brass spittoon that dates to the early 1900s, maybe earlier. Its been in my family for decades, having come out of a bank that my father remodeled in the 1950s. I once paid to have it restored, and the guy just made it worse, a nice guy, but brass restoration wasnt his strong suit.I thought Id give Colonial Brass a try, and they did a PHENOMENAL restoration. It wasnt cheap, but you get what you pay for, and we couldnt be happier. I highly recommend them, give them your business, you wont be disappointed.
Excellent work at reasonable prices, they are skilled craftsmen. We highly recommend Colonial Brass for any restoration work.
I picked up an old copper and brass fire extinguisher on my last trip to RoundTop and I thought how cool would it be to get this restored, polished, and sealed? Would it be even cooler if it were a lamp for a desk? Hell yes! Pictures say all that you need to know. I took my little project over and they knew exactly what I needed before I did. Just check the before and after photos. I can not recommend Colonial Brass enough for all of your metal polishing and restoration needs
I have taken a number of pieces to Mark and Edward and they do an amazing job of fixing and improving. They do very meticulous work in a careful way to care for very old items and they can do any kind of surface you might desire new or old. We had this large bowl from a dear family friend given to us 35 years and it had become so awful, that for the last 15-20 years, it has sat in our closet waiting for rebirth. See the picture -simply stunning how well they have made it look. And they do this old world craftsman work at a reasonable rate and return time frame. Nobody comes close to what they can do. Next up is the large silver tray below it that needs a wonderful shine and lacquer!
My family and I have used Colonial Brass over many years to restore our antique brass and copper accessories and they do an Amazing job! They are Great to work with, and always deliver on time. I recommend them very highly, real professionals!!
This company is great at what they do. End product is what you expect and customer service is on point. Honest lead time and highly recommended.
I brought in a 75 yr. old very nice brass planter. I was astonished at the beauty of the finished product. You did a wonderful job and very affordable. I do have one suggestion to the company. I think you should ask customers upon bringing in their product if they would like to take a picture of the item they are leaving so when it is picked up, after your magic, the customer would have a before and after picture. I regret not having a before picture. Thanks for your services.
Thank you for your great work on my candle holder!
I dropped off my billet aluminum steering 2 weeks ago and I am beyond pleased with the way it turned out. The wheel was in poor condition, as when I got it someone had taken a screw driver to the center button. The staff listened to my suggestions on how to fix it. With no promises on their end, they told me they will do their best to get it right. I picked up my wheel and it turns out the employee is a car guy like me, and went the extra mile to make it as good as new. I will definitely bring more interior pieces to be polished. Here is a before and after photo.
Hidden gem. After 70 years my front door handle, deadbolt and mailbox pull needed a big makeover. Colonial Brass did a great job with same day service.
I have been using Colonial Brass for over 25 years. I had them clean, plate, and polish many different types of antique pieces over the years (i.e. antique floor lamps, antique table lamps, antique National Cash Registers, tables, candlesticks, etc.). They had always been prompt. reliable, honest and always treated me with respect. However, after Tom, Marks father, passed away things changed to its detriment. They lost a piece of silver inherited from my husbands family and provided no compensation. Several items came up missing which they also refused to compensate for. I sent them a footboard from an Italian Hand Wrought Iron bed that cost me $6K. It only needed a cleaning. After calling numerous times and no one returning my call during a 6 month period of time, I drove over to their warehouse only to learn It had been burnt up in a fire. They never called to let me know. The footboard was ruined and again, they refused to compensate me for my loss. They said it was not their responsibility. I also had left 10 figurine pieces with them to be made into lamps. They never started on the job. Instead, I recently walked into their shop only to see my figurines were in their showroom with price tags on them. I had been a loyal customer and overlooked all these things due to my relationship with Marks father. However, I just took a table lamp in to be plated and told them they did not have to put it back together. I would do that. Only to be called names that I wont repeat. In my opinion, Edward has a bad attitude and does not have have the skills to work the front desk. Overall, I will never recommend them to anyone. Beware!
We are honored to be decendants of the Stiffel Lamp company. There is only one place to take your precious heirlooms for restoration to restore them to their original beauty...Colonial Brass treasures them and pays attention to detail and absolute quality. Our lamps would pass the inspection of The Stiffel Family. Wonderful service and care.
Great little family owned shop lots of cool things good customer service with great work to match
Colonial Brass was the BEST to work with. Had a chandelier plated and they did such a great job. Courteous, timely and affordable! Look forward to doing more business with them!
Sent a badly corroded Boston barometer case. It came looking like new at a very reasonable price. Nice people to deal with. Highly recommended!
Colonial Brass really does a good job at a competitive price! A few years ago, we decided to our old chandelier needed to be polished. Since we were going to have to take it down in order to polish it, we thought it made sense to re-wire it as well. Colonial Brass told us about our chandelier’s composition & offered shades of polish (some brighter than others) to suit our preference. Also, they have an electrician they use & the re-wiring was included in the price. They completed the job on time at the agreed-upon price & we took the piece home. It was a bit before we were able to hang the chandelier & about that time we found that 1 arm of the chandelier had come loose from the rest. I called Colonial Brass & they did not hesitate to stand by their job. I took the chandelier back in & they repaired it, no problem, no questions asked. I really appreciated their professionalism & will always take my brass & silver here to be polished & lacquered.
These guys are a pleasure to do business with. I doubt theres anyone in the country who knows more about brass (and other metals) refinishing than Colonial Brass. Very happy. Highly recommend.
I asked Mark w/Colonial Brass if they could do a custom order for me. Even though theyd never made an item like this before they TOTALLY came through & knocked it out of the ballpark! I couldnt be more pleased with how my item/design came out when I picked it up! Also, everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Thank you Colonial Brass, I am one VERY happy customer!!!
I am so thrilled to find Colonial Brass. I took my 30 year old Baldwin front door hardware. I got tears in my eyes when I saw the finished pieces. They looked like brand new and saved me a ton of money by not having to buy all new hardware. Now Im hooked. Next is the porch light fixtures!
Colonial Brass performed a total restoration on my antique French Sterling Silverware from the 1880s. Each piece was meticulously cleaned, polished, and brought back to its original condition. The results are unbelievable!!! One would be foolish, in my opinion, to entrust the restoration and refurbishment of their family heirlooms with anyone other than Colonial Brass. Besides, you will not find a better price on the market for the services rendered to boot.
Colonial Brass is AWESOME! They repaired and polished my antique candelabra. Looks amazing - cant see the repair. Went above and beyond and researched the markings on it to give me an idea of its value. I was so happy with that repair that I took a silver plated tray to them that was missing a foot. They were able to find a matching foot in their scrap bin and attached it to the tray. Now you cant tell which foot is the new one. They do a fantastic job. I had a couple of silver pieces lacquered (I wasnt using them because they always needed polishing - yuck!). Now I can leave them out to enjoy their beauty and use them without having to first polish. I only wish I had more broken silver pieces to take to them. They are very nice and friendly. Knowledgeable and affordable. I have referred many friends to them and I recommend them to YOU too!
Took a large porthole in. Great job plus built a display mount. Really pleased and highly recommended.
Awesome. I have an antique brass and iron bed purchased for £10 in England. Turns out from 1880-1890. Which they determined from engraving on the caster. Who knew? The iron had been painted black in the 70s, in much need of overhaul. Brass was dented, missing some small decorative pieces, others were loose. They were friendly, very approachable, helpful when I called to check on bed. Gave me a fair estimate (I suspect as had no idea). Bed was ready when promised. It is beautiful!! Painted, baked on paint, white, brass beautifully polished. They found matching or comparable missing pieces, banged out some dents, etc. My bed is fantastic. Thank you, Colonial Brass. Will recommend to anyone needing any metal polished or repaired.
Have taken numerous brass, silver plate and sterling items for restoration, polishing and lacquer. Everything has turned out beautiful and beyond expectations. Prices are reasonable. You will be pleased.
I purchased a large brass brazier from this company which needed to be shipped to the UK. It was dealt with very quickly and efficiently and was with us in less than a week. We are delighted with the quality of the burner, it was packed well and in perfect condition. Communication was excellent throughout the process, I cant recommend this company highly enough. Excellent service.
My wife and I wanted a beach house so we bought and refurbished a 1912 Victorian house in Galveston. While deep in the rubble I ran across what looked like a rusted rectangular plate hanging off a structure that looked like a metal frame. I figured out that it was designed to go in the fireplace, but this device didn’t look like something I’d keep. The plate was made out of metal, so I took it to Colonial Brass. Needless to say I was shocked and amazed at how well Colonial turned a pile of metal into an heirloom. Trust these guys with anything!!
Excellent refinishing of a brass microscope, removed tarnish and brought back the luster. Preserved the look with clear coat to prevent oxidation in the future.Unfortunately, the custom carrying case was not done a the same time but will be in the near future. Many pieces in the shop are for sale too!!
The guys at Colonial Brass always deliver great service and our parts are always ready within a few days.
I took in an antique silver plated candelabra that needed some repair work to reinforce the arms. Colonial Brass did an amazing job and even though the piece is silver plated you dont notice where the repair was done. The work was done within a week and the quality was fantastic. I would highly recommend them and will be returning in the future.
A rarity in service and production in this World today. Almost to the point in our society where who they are and the service they give clients is unique and caring. Whenever Ive been there Ive see people bring in big pieces and small pieces to be cleaned and polished up. Ive seen all those people treated with courtesy and respect, and a couple of times I heard someone say Oh my God its so so beautiful like it was the first time they had ever seen their silver piece.I know this isnt one of those services that respond to an issue with an oops how did I miss that. Sorry. or well its not ready even though the ticket had todays date on it. None of that.My personal experience has been after going there a couple of times is when you drop off a piece of silver or brass to be cleaned up all you have to do is sign a ticket, take the bottom half of the ticket and leave. No long time chatter which makes doing business there a pleasure. The worse part of doing business with a business like this is that similar businesses and their way of serving their clients is disappearing from the landscape of our society with no one to take up that craftsman like work.Dan Kamin/Houston, Texas
Colonial brass did an incredible job restoring and repairing all of the brass in our house!! We now go to Estate Sales just to buy brass and copper and take it in to be polished. All of their personnel are incredibly nice and professional. They not only to really fine work but they are also fast!! What more could you possible ask for ?!!
I dont know how I would get along without Colonial Brass. They make everything and anything made of metal beautiful and like new, and they are friendly and fun to deal with. They have polished and protected all our metal lamps, in several different metals; repaired our damaged silverware; and they just polished our chrome kitchen faucets! One thing for sure, you will not be disappointed by Colonial Brass.
My wife and her family have been customers of Colonial Brass for many years. We recently had a silver tray replated and a silver service restored and they did a beautiful job. I am most excited about a lamp that they powder coated in a custom color and the restoration of the aluminum top and brass burner. Just installed the lamp in our back yard yesterday and it came out very nice. Ed and his crew do great work at a fair price. We are lifelong customers.
Excellent work, very well done and to the schedule they predicted. Would recommend them for restoration of any metal object. The work they did for me was for a silver plated tea set of the 1950 era. Additional use of this Supplier simply endorses my rating. The work is excellent and I would recommend to anyone who have items they wish reconditioned!!
We took a very battered set of fireplace tools to Colonial Brass five weeks ago and picked them up today. They were beautifully restored. Well worth the wait. We thought they were brass plated but they were returned to us with a pewter color and a satin-finish. Just beautiful. Thank you for the work you did to restore the set to its original finery.
Don’t throw away your old antique brass artifacts because they appear to look as though they cannot be restored. Colonial Brass has restored several brass pieces for me. They now have their original appearance. The cost was very reasonable and was far less than the cost of a replacement if I could find one.
I took a 4 light floor lamp that has been damaged in a move into Colonial Brass shop in the hope they would be able fix it. Thanks to the true craftsmanship of Edward and his team, they figured out how to repair the lamp so that is now better than new. I highly recommend this company and its team for any metal work needs.
This place does an amazing job if you want shiny brass HOWEVER, if you want a different finish, like oil rubbed bronze be careful or you may be disappointed. It took in my existing front door handle, which was solid brass, and a new Quickset deadbolt lock set that was finished in oil rubbed bronze. They owner said they could match the new lock set. When I picked up the finished product, it did not match. I told the guy working there how disappointed I was and he said something like we cant match oil rubbed bronze on a brass hardware. If you wanted it to match then it needed to be copper plated first and that would cost $30 extra. Well they didnt tell me this when I dropped the handles off. They didnt offer to give me a credit or fix the problem or anything. I was so disappointed with the finished product that I stopped at Home Depot on the way home, purchased a $8 can of bronze spray paint, and repainted the lockset. My paint job turned out to be almost 100% match to the Quickset lock and looked a lot better than finish done by Colonial Brass. My experience was that I threw $297 down the drain, it was a total waste of money and also my time - 2 driving trips to their shop.
I was an out-of-state customer who transacted with them over email, by phone, and through the mail. I was vexed about how to restore some old door hardware; my usual tricks were not working. Ed assured me they could take care of all of it, and they did. I was very happy with the results and one step closer to my goal of restoring original hardware to my doors. I wouldnt hesitate to hire them again if the need arises, and I highly recommend their services.
Colonial Brass has been my go-to shop for all brass repair or refinishing for the past 20+ years. Their workmanship is excellent; an employee came to my home to do work that could not be brought to the shop. Service is done in a timely manner and work is always ready and accessible when I arrive to pick it up. Employees are friendly and helpful in guiding one to make the correct choice in finishes for a piece if options exist. Give them a try; your brass pieces will love you for it!
Our Colonial Brass experience was exceptional. I brought in a 37 year-old tarnished saber and scabbard with deep sentimental value hoping Colonial could restore it in some fashion. And restore it they did. It looks like new! Thanks guys.
We recently refinished our mailbox so that it would match our new exterior door hardware. The finished product was so stunning that total strangers comment on how beautiful it looks when they come up to the front door.
Colonial Brass repaired a pot metal Crucifix that has been in my mother’s family for 80 years. Their work is excellent and the price was very fair. The project was done in the time indicated. I would highly recommended them to anyone needing metal repair.
We wanted to have our door hardware refinished quickly so that it could be taken off and put back on the same day. We were told that Colonial Brass could do this and decided to use them. Were glad we did - the hardware was old and very badly tarnished. It came back just like new. A great job and all done within one day.
I am impressed with the work Mark and his team did for me. They refinished some of my most prized antiques: brass bed, copper & brass fire extinguisher, brass case for ships clock; brass oil can, tin oil can and brass tire gauges. I also had them polish a variety of stainless steel items. Everything turned out beautiful. To describe me as picky would be an understatement. I think if Colonial Brass can satisfy my expectations, they can satisfy anyone.
Colonial Brass did a fantastic job polishing and sealing our Egyptian brass pieces, some of them very large. They also rewired our lanterns and converted the lightbulb sockets to US standards. Add in their friendly and professional manner, and we wont go anywhere else!
So happy to have found this company here in Houston! They were so helpful and reasonably priced. I will definitely return with other metal objects to get polished and/or repaired. Thank you!
I lived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for 10 years from1975-1985 and traveled to Iran, India, South Africa, and Egypt. During that time I purchased many copper, brass, and silver objects.I returned to the States in 1991, and have been seeking the services of someone really good at polishing and restoration. When I came to Houston in 1997, a close friend gave me a card for just such a place. It was Colonial Brass. I wasted a lot of time polishing at home, but since we are retiring at the end of the year, I decided to give them a try.Did I mention that I wasted a lot of time polishing at home? Well, NO MORE!! I found Colonial Brass a few months ago, and I can attest to the quality of their work. They are EXCELLENT for restoring, polishing, and laquering all brass and copper that I have sent them!! Also, they are personable into the bargain.I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. Their work is the best I have seen. My brass and copper is gleaming!Candace Pearson
Colonial Brass was recommended to me for a couple of items. I was extremely impressed with their work, especially since I thought that they could not be fixed. I would highly recommend their services
Colonial Brass did an excellent job on rewiring and polishing our brass outside entry chandelier. In addition, they polished front and back door brass locks/door handles and house numbers. Great customer service and always came on time.
I cant say enough about how beautiful my silver flatware set looks after having it polished at Colonial Brass. I looks like new and like it has never been used before. When I got it home I keep showing it off to how beautiful it looks. I also took an very old spoon thinking there was not alot they could do, well i was wrong about that. It looks terrific. I am so pleased with their work that I have been taking bits and pieces back to them to polish. The pricing is reasonable and not only that they are fun to talk to.
Colonial Brass did an excellent job refurbishing and refinishing a pair of bronze African sculptures. They were easy to work with and dedicated to giving me the finished product I envisioned. I would highly recommend their outstanding work.
This company polished my punch bowl set and also my Tea and Coffee Service. They did a fantastic job, and did it all in less that three weeks. My silver looks like new.
I had two brass wall lamps from the 80s refinished. They originally were shiny brass which really dated them. They were expensive so worth the beautiful update. I picked the Stiefle finish and am so pleased that they look new and totally updated. Colonial Brass is the only place to go in Houston for refinishing, repair, and polishing your metal items. The owner is so nice and I will go there again.
Colonial Brass did an incredible job restoring an antique powder box that was my Grandmother had given me. I was a bit hesitant to hand off something so meaningful, but felt very reassured after speaking with Edward and seeing the quality of work in their shop. My expectations were completely blown away when I picked up my powder box. I was so impressed not only with the impeccable quality of work, but also the friendliness and communication of the staff. As if it couldnt be better, it was so affordable. I was shocked by how little I was charged for such amazing results. I will be a customer for life, I encourage anyone looking into this shop to do the same!
I have been taking different brass pieces to Colonial Brass for over 15 years. I have never been disappointed in all those years. The pieces range from my mothers badly tarnished full set of 12 -- 5 piece place settings of silver to antique brass fireplace andirons, fender, tools, holders and candlestick lamps. Ive also brought in a very old pewter cream pitcher which was badly pitted and they brought it back to perfect condition. I brought in a silver baby fork damaged in the sink disposal which I thought was a lost cause. The result was a perfect fork again! I was amazed. I dont think there is anything they cant restore. I always know that I will be given the best service along with fair prices. I highly recommend them!
This place is truly amazing, They were able to take my very large polished brass hall fixture and change it to a satin nickel finish. They are truly passionate about what they do and it really shows in the quality of their work. I will be giving them additional items to be re-plated.I Highly recommend them !!!
Colonial Brass polished and lacquered a brass ships bell that had been left outdoors in a harsh, saltwater environment for 10 years. They brought it back to life and it is a beautiful now as it was on the day it was made. The bell is very special and meaningful to our family and I was afraid that it would never be what it was. Colonial Brass did an excellent job and were a pleasure to work with!
Colonial Brass is the only place to go for restoration services. Ive been using them for over 15 years and they consistently produce first class work. Their prices are reasonable and they have a quick turn around. Very professional.
Colonial Brass re-tinned my 80year old pots and skillets... great job. This is a Houston Gem practicing this rare art. Thank you very much for your professional service and attention to detail.
This company is the go to place for repairing and polishing silver, brass and copper pieces! They are professional, courteous and pay attention to the tiniest details. I highly recommend Colonial Brass.
The charge to polish a silver bowl was very reasonable, the work was excellent, and was completed on time. In addition, they spent some time researching the value of the bowl at my request, providing me with a needed estimate.
Colonial created a beautiful frame for some tiles we brought back from a trip. I will definitely use their services again.
STELLAR WORK!! Great to do business with, THANKS, Bill Ehr
Did great work on a cake cutting knife that had to be re-engraved. Nobody else could do it. They were able to get it done quickly.
Highly recomended! I have used their services on over twenty items in the past couple of years with nothing but great appreciation for their work and their professionalism.
They can do anything! I took some antique casters that had wood wheels. The wheels were rotted and missing. They made new wood wheels for my table and repaired the casters. I was so pleased! Would use them time and again and will definitely refer them.
Colonial Brass replated a very old silver tea set left to me by my brother-in-law. It looks fantastic! Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you again for the great transformation on my antique tea set.
Okay, so I messed up and spilled BBQ sauce on an antiqued copper top table. Took the finish right off. Yes, I know, not smart. Edward and his team at Colonial Brass refinished the top of the table to look better than it did originally. They did a great job. I cant recommend them enough.
Over the summer we gave colonial Brass an old silver family goblet from Tiffany that was bent and badly damaged. They had to send it out of state to a silversmith. It took a few months but when it was returned- it was beautiful ! We have used this group several times and each time they did not disappoint. Very friendly and knowledgeable. In the case of my goblet, they knew who would do a good job and the kind of repair that was needed. I will continue to use them anytime I need something done.I would highly recommend them. What they do is certainly a lost art.
I am thrilled with the work that was done at Colonial Brass! Edward was very informative and professional. Their workmanship is fabulous!
I moved from Savanah GA to Newport OR. In unpacking I realized my 30 year old beautiful brass bankers lamp with its stain glass and sea shell lamp needed to be polished. It had turned dull and some parts were broken. It is very difficult to find a professional craftsman to do such delicate and detailed work. I searched the internet and found Colonial Brass.WOW!!!! Colonial Brass made the brass look NEW!! I boxed up the pieces and shipped to them. The price was great and the turn around time was amazing! The were very detailed.I recommend this company to anyone who cares about quality and professionalism!!!
I first heard of Colonial Brass on KTRH radio. I dont remember what I first brought them but I do know that no one else had wanted to touch the project. I left it there and was called about a week later to come pick it up and I thought theyd bought a newer one for me. I couldnt believe what they had been able to do. Since then Ive brought in many items, several of which were in numerous pieces, which they were able to fit together so they would function as designed. Everyone that Ive dealt with in the shop has been extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable, as well as being nice. Their prices compare favorably with other quotes that Ive gotten and they have always honored their estimates, even when the project was more involved than anticipated. I would definitely give them 5 gold stars!
Turned my brass shower handles into perfect satin nickel. I will use them for the rest of my house and the price is right!! Thank you Colonial Brass.
Not very pleased with the quality of work. Brought these pulls in for polishing and yet they still have spots that look tarnished. The explanation I was given was that these are nickel plated and what Im seeing is the raw steel underneath. However, these dont appear to be plated. And they never mentioned that they were when I dropped them off.Seems to me an excuse for shoddy work. Alternative Facts!
Very Friendly and very nice work repairing a small pewter item. Highly recommend this company!
I have been using Colonial Brass for many years for project large and small and they consistently do an amazing job for what I feel has always been a very reasonable cost. Highly recommend them.
I had a small but necessary piece of a brass caster for a grand piano go missing, and Colonial Brass created a duplicate copy of the piece like it was no big deal! I was highly impressed with their efficiency and affordable rates.
They always do excellent work and their polishing and lacquering lasts 10+ years. Plus they are very friendly and helpful, and their prices are reasonable.
