Since I was a kid, Ive always wanted to learn martial arts. When I joined this group, not only have I learned martial arts, but to be liberated from the bad times in my past. Of all the groups Ive tried in my life (Besides martial arts), this is a group where I feel like I fit in and belong. I definitely recommend this group not only to anyone who wants to learn martial arts, but to anyone who has had a hard time in the past. To me, martial arts is a special kind of therapy.

Efficient instruction of an efficient system in a very friendly and supportive atmosphere. Sifu Alex provides nonsense-free, practical self-defense that anyone can learn. Im a small guy, 57, 140 lbs soaking wet, but it is amazing what Ive been able to accomplish so far using the methods he teaches.

Ive known Sifu Alex Wallenwein since 1993 in Houston Wing Tsun days. He is in my experience a great teacher because he is always willing to explain how and why certain movements work and how to properly apply them in real world conflicts. He always has a fresh way to look at things for students at any level to help them understand the movements. He is a valued friend and Teacher.

I’ve spent most of my life in and out of martial arts and have met many different and skilled instructors. Sifu Alex is definitely up there with the best of them. Whilst the ethos and principles of Wing Tsun are simple (if the way is clear, go forward), the real application of this simple intent is often very difficult. Sifu Alex has the unique ability to break down the complicated simplicity of Wing Tsun into logical and memorable steps. He teaches the basics as a sound foundation, and if you put the work in, you’ll progress soundly.Lessons are usually intense, but not without their moments of humor. After all, who cannot laugh at themselves after repeatedly doing the wrong thing and repeatedly being shown the corrections. I’ve met a great group of fellow students through Sifu Alex, and we’ve managed to get some training in outside of regular class hours which is a testament to the caliber of the group. I practiced Wing Tsun for 7 years in an incredible school in Paris (Sifu Parisi School) filled with talented Sifu and students. I moved to Houston recently and I must say that Im very happy to have found the same spirit in Houston in this school. I trained wing tsun 20 years ago at another school in town and became an instant fan of the discipline. I recently decided it was time to do something good for myself and began my search for a good school to start training again. I feel like I have learned more at Houston Wing Tsun in a month than I did in a year at the old school. Sifu Alex is a great instructor. He is down to earth, and explains everything so clearly. I was accustomed to things being very secretive and here it is openly, taught, trained and explained! I really get to learn it now, and also how to apply it in real life situations.
