A colleague referred me to her. And she doesn’t go to her anymore. I found out later. Needed something in the area for a meeting. LADYS IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY DO NOT SPEND IT HERE!!!!! I have to wear a wig now...at work!!! I’ve never had to it’s every uncomfortable and embarrassing. I could’ve went to the hood to have my hair laid down. Cuts to much hair I think she messed up and tried to correct it? After I washed my hair I noticed how bad of a cut I paid for, just hidden in curls. My hair texture seems a little different afterwards also. My hair is MY crown and I feel like everyone is looking at it. Something about the hands made me want to puke. The smell was awful not going to say what they smell like. Usually hairstylist that Capture my attention look and act professional at all times. Clearly after coming here to make a review I see how unprofessional she is. Due to the comebacks she gives her customers. That’s a red flag

My Hair Loves MagsThis was my 1st time sitting in Mags chair & it most definitely won’t be my last! I’m truly in love with my hair! It feels so healthy and she gave ya girl curls for days, literally lol! Her customer service was outstanding and she is a perfectionist! She will Not be letting you walk out of her salon without every hair being in its proper place! Thank you Mags for making my 1st experience in your chair an Awesome experience! So much so, I already sent a referral to you and I most definitely will be returning!

I am not one to write reviews, but my experience at this salon was just beyond horrifying. I was due to get a microlinks installation and when I arrived Mags greeted me and took me to the shampoo bowl. I sat there for about 15 mins as she finished up doing things around the shop which I had no problem with. She shampooed my hair and we were conversing about how I had just recently colored my hair and that it might not match exactly the way it should, I was okay with that. After shampooing she put me under the steamer then proceeded to leave the salon to go finish her lunch, I was alone in the salon. This was a red flag but I continued because I was still excited about getting my hair done. When she came back she put me in the chair and proceeded to blow dry my hair with no heat protectant or serums or anything... she never once attempted to detangle my natural hair properly. She just took a brush and her blow dryer and started yanking through my hair. Red flag number 2, so even still I let her flat iron my hair... she did 4 or 5 passes on each section of hair. Mind you, still no heat protectant or serums or anything on my hair. The whole process was uncomfortable and painful and I am not someone who is tenderheaded. I finally stopped her after she put two tracks in and I did tell her that the color was not working for me but that was on me, all in all I left with 600 dollars gone for free. My hair is now heat damaged and I am having to rebuild my hair back to what it was before she did it. I never have felt so uncomfortable with an experience in my life until this one!! Please be cautious with picking your stylist!!

I will try to write this without so much anger but I’m devastated. I have never cried so hard after leaving a beauty shop. I came in for a Silk Press with steam treatment. It took 5 hours to complete this process (This should only be 3 hours at the most). I sat in the chair with below bra strap length and came out with shoulder length hair. I have been natural for 3 years with one year of transitioning. I did the big chop in 2014. My hair is my pride and joy I take very good care of it (I️ don’t do heat, silk press twice a year & keep braids/sew ins *no leave out* for most of the year), I worked really hard to get that length. Margaret took that away from me she told me I needed a trim, showed me 1/2 inch to take off but instead took about 4 inches off (This is no exaggeration!). No one knows how angry, hurt, & upset I was. I would never go to her if she was the only stylist left on the planet. So now I will restart my journey of waist length natural hair again. Thanks Margaret for taking me back a year.

I have been going to the salon for around 6 months now to get me ends trim. However, this review is for my wedding hair. She did a great job. She completed me and 7 others. She was on time and even finished early. One thing I liked is that my curls weren’t heavy with spritz and it lasted all night. I was able to wear the same hair (no curls of course) during my honeymoon because it wasn’t hard and heavy with products. The picture attached was taken maybe 3hrs after curled.

This was my first time trying Microlinks and I waited weeks to try and find the perfect stylists! I picked Mags! She was very informative and even though I asked her a million n 2 questions she answered them all! Not to mention she served hunnie on my hairstyle! I absolutely love my hair! I was there waiting to get my hair done when a client expressed her concerns about her hair and I was impressed with the way that Mags handled the situation professionally! I hate salons lord but I think I may have found a new home! 🧡

This salon is most definitely FABULOUS!!! Ms. Margaret has the finesse, skills and professionalism to expand in international markets. I love it that she uses quality products to help GROW YOUR HAIR and she gave me good advice on at home care. My cut and color received so many compliments! I received a steam for extra deep conditioning and a scalp massage by her assistant Satta! NO WAIT TIME! I was in and out. Keep up the good work!

No knowledge about hair and had poor hygiene. Puts lots of heat on your hair by running it through cheap flat irons 5-6 times. Stays on the phone with multiple men off dating sites while doing your hair. Nothing at all was FAB about this salon. Just disgusting.

Margaret is the best hair stylist Houston TX. Her shop is well laid out and a lot of thought was put together with her establishment. This goes to show how much thought is put into her clients and her attention to detail is second to none. Would recommend her to all my friends and family.

Mags is absolutely amazing! She never disappoints! She has been my hair stylist for about 4 years now and I wouldnt trade her for the world! Pros: Cute little shop in an easily accessible location, with no wait. I was in and out within 30 minutes so not only was the wash/trim convenient but the cut turned out FABulous. Margaret is both incredibly personable and knowledgeable. She accepts walk-ins as well as appointments.Cons: My wash and trim cost $60Due to the cost, another appointment is unrealistic for me but I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in need of hair cut or style.

Margaret has been doing my hair for the last five years and I must say that I am always impressed with the end results. She brings a dynamic versatility to any requested hairstyle from weaves to short hair. I have received plenty of compliments on my hair and it is a good feeling to have a professional stylist who knows their customer and is able to deliver the services as requested.

Margaret is amazing at what she does one been coming since 2012 and have faithful. Her years and experience are exactly what you need in a stylist. Her location is beautiful and feels oh so fabulous!!! You will not be disappointed.

I have been going to the fab salon since 2016, it is the only place I will go in Houston to get my hair done. Ive seen I wonderful change in my hair since Ive been coming here. Would recommend to anyone with natural hair!

Ive been coming to Margaret for over a year now and I have not been disappointed with my hair at all. I recommend that if you want your hair done in a fabulous way then Fab The Salon is where you should get your services done.

I cant say how I absolutely LOVE the way Margaret does my hair! I have tried many stylist and NO ONE and I mean NO ONE can straighten my hair the way that she does! With Margaret around my hair will never experience another bad day again! LOVE HER WORK!!! She also has done my make-up for various events (family photos, engagement photos, and my wedding).

Very disappointed! The process used for the “Silk Press” was extremely drying. When I questioned the stylist about it and asked if modifications could be made for my already dry hair, she became defensive and insulting. The products used were not salon quality. (You can buy Biosilk anywhere. Additionally I prefer moisturizing sulfate free products which they did not have.) The shampoo assistant was instructed to shampoo my hair thoroughly with some common Tea Tree shampoo, condition it, place me under the steamer WITH A SHOWER CAP ON, then SHAMPOO MY HAIR AGAIN, put NOTHING on it (no leave-in, heat protectant, serum, oil, Nothing!), and blow dry it without pre-detangling. At several points along the way I questioned the process ex- why would I have a shower cap on under a steamer? (The steam is supposed to penetrate my hair. You would put a shower cap on to hold moisture under a dry heat hooded dryer.) Why did you shampoo my hair again after conditioning it? Especially when I told you my hair was dry? The stylist told me that her “Silk Press required squeaky clean hair with nothing on it and that the second shampoo didn’t wash away the conditioner (WTH?). When my hair was crispy dry and being ripped through why a brush she then reluctantly offered to put a serum on it. Umm.. too little too late. My hair is already dry ma’am, there’s no moisture to seal in at that point. She blow dryed my already dry hair for a second time to try to force it to detangle with rough brushing. At this point she rudely addressed the fact that I needed my ends cut. I already knew that which was why I scheduled a Press and cut. I told her that at the beginning of the appointment as well. There was no need for her to insult me, I knew that my ends needed professional attention, that’s why I made an appointment. She proceeded to flat iron my hair 4 times and cut it unevenly! Horror.I wish that stylists had a “first do no harm” policy. If I am coming to you to restore the hydration and health to my hair why would you overcleanse it and fry it with a ton of heat? Additionally, how can you properly serve a client if you instantly get upset when they voice their concerns? Needless I won’t go there again and I would caution others against it.

I like the hair care and attention that I receive. My hair is always happy when I go to Fab the Salon! I even receive express service. Make your appointment today and be happy.

Now I must say MY first experience with Mag was ok. So I sent my daughter to her for a texture set on Sept. 28th. She missed an entire day of school because for some reason Mags is lacking professionalism in her delivery of service. We arrived at 9:30 for a 10:30 appt and was not finished until 4:00 pm and that was only due to insisting she stop stalling in her process. My daughter was continuously serviced and attended to AFTER other later arriving customers. Mags likes to play “The Dryer Game”. Please do not attempt to tell me it takes 6 hours for hair to dry! Several customers were serviced an out the door during this 6 hour period. While you just kept placing my child under the dryer over and over again to tend to other customers. Only to produce a very half ass, lack luster hair style. You should be ashamed to attach your name to this work. When I say Mags missed the mark in so many areas of customer service today it is unreal. DO BETTER MAGS. You have definitely lost a customer and any hopes of a referral. I could not in good faith recommend anyone to you knowing you treated my child this way. Furthermore your constant excuse making only served to insult my intelligence. So $120 (for a service quoted at $85) and 6 hours later we end up with TRASH and the threat of calling law enforcement if my child didn’t pay for the mess concocted on her head. DO BETTER PERIOD....POOR REPRESENTATION OF YOUR ARTISTRY.....SHAME ON YOU MAGS!

Took my niece to this salon mind you her first time, yes we was early the stylist got there had a very ugly disposition on her face and decided she cant do her hair . There were prior conversation that she want her hair color and straighten. Very ugly customer service would not recommend no one, when you dealing with the public and you should always has a nice disposition about yourself regardless how you really feel, Dont have to come to you nor spend my money.

Margaret has been my stylist for 6 years! She is very knowledgeable and honest about the best products, techniques and styles suited for your hair. I usually wear sew-in weaves and my hair is ALWAYS FAB!!!

Ive had nothing but great experiences with Margaret. She is very good at what she does . She will offer suggestions for ways to keep your hair healthy . Her hair coloring is off the chain.
