Very difficult to deal with. The representative I had to deal with on the phone was rude and unhelpful. The driver was fine.
The high ratings here definitely came from an employee or affiliate. What kind of company provides a delivery date but doesn’t show up? Their online tracking system gives inaccurate updates so you have no clue as to when you will receive your package. You basically get your delivery whenever they feel like dropping it off.

This has been the absolute WORST experience Ive ever had with a freight delivery service. I cant fathom how theyre even in business! I took off work this past Tuesday so I could be home to sign for the delivery of my generator. After waiting all day through the 8 hour window they provided I was never contacted. I called customer service and they apologized saying this NEVER happens. Looking through other reviews I see this was obviously a lie. The delivery was rescheduled for today, so once again I took off from work and waited patiently for it to arrive, but no luck. I called customer service again and they couldnt get ahold of the Houston dispatch. So they gave me a direct number to call tomorrow. So now it appears I will have to take off from work a 3rd time and do their job for them by just driving down there to pick it up myself! Whatever you do, avoid this company if at all possible! I will be contacting Firman Generators and insist that they never do business with YRC Freight again.
Terrible terrible service. So unfortunate. None of them communicate with each other. They treat the customer absolutely terrible. They lack very basic customer service skills. An excuse for everything. Were going on to our 2nd week of excuses with why they have been unloading and unloading our delivery based on the tracking information and our two phone calls a day. One at 8am to ensure delivery and another that we make at noon wondering why now its not longer being delivered. I would highly encourage you to use someone else.
They lost a $1600 transmission I ordered from Detroit Mi it arrived at YRC Houston in two days from Detroit once it got to YRC Houston it sat there for two weeks I called them and they told me they were backed up because of the winter storm (that was almost two months ago) I called them back a few days later and they told me they couldnt find it but as soon as they find it theyll ship it out to me. I had to call the guys in Detroit I ordered it from and they told me that YRC told them they lost it and they never once contacted anybody about it, Im sure it was stolen stay the phk away from this company ...... Because of this I had to wait for another transmission (used a different freight company that actually delivered it on time) causing delay to my car repair I had to spend $400 dollars on a rental car !!
No Stars if I could. Scheduled a pick up a week later and four phone calls product still wasnt picked up. First the truck broke down then one lame excuse after another. Then the the topper I refused to let driver pick up product. Stay away!

I would give zero stars if I could. Our package shipped on the 17th it is now the 28th. They have changed the delivery date three times with different excuses. Today’s excuses was, their truck broke down. This is the worst freight company I have EVER dealt with. Going on two weeks for a delivery from Las Vegas to Houston. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Setup delivery from Portland,Or to Houston,Tx. We were quoted a 5-6 days transit time. It took YRC 13 days to get this delivered to us.
Now I can see why they have 2.1 stars. The company I ordered equipment from used YRC. It has been at their location for at least 3 days. I have wasted half of my day trying to track it down. The specialist says, they dont know if its on the dock somewhere or on a trailer?! How can you lose a 6 x 4 crate? Is there no inventory system in place? Seriously? Do NOT use this freight company!

Called dispatch the following morning to see what the deal was, and no record of my shipment being on any of their trucks was apparently available. Not to mention the attitude of the person on the phone was that of a high school drop out drive through attendant. There is no documentation so you cant prove anything. This company does everything by hear say. Do Not Use this company if at all possible.

I’ve gotten at least five freight shipments via YRC since June. Not a single one has been on time according to their tracking info, with actual arrival between 1-4 days off. No one calls to tell me the status, and most of the time when I call customer service, they can’t get in touch with their drivers because YRC doesn’t issue them phones. Really wish they’d get their act together.
In early December I had order placed with overstock, and they used this delivery company. So I had two big purchases delivered with the difference of about 3 weeks. Firs order was delivered and I received a bill for “inside delivery” that I wasn’t informed that I will be billed for, it was inside my garage. Second delivery was placed in a same spot and drivers were really nice and informative. So when I was trying to dispute charge for first delivery with YRC management early January, and I guess some miscommunication occurred and I haven’t heard back from them until July with collection notice.. so management did not took care of it in a proper manner, company has some(not all) uneducated delivery drivers. And I don’t plan on ordering anything from companies who using them as a delivery company anytime soon

I really want to give 0 points. But there is no this option. At the end of April, I received a call from this company and said that I would receive the shipment on May 8. At 2 p.m. on May 8, I received a call. The driver said he will arrive my home within an hour. But I waited until 6 p.m. to deliver. I called the driver to ask why he did not come. He said that he had no signal on T-Mobiles cell phone in the afternoon. He could not find the address. Yes, this problem really happened that day. But I really do not know why their companys phone can not give me a call. Why they cannot actively identify the problem? Why they cannot call their clients? Then I made an appointment for delivery on May 11th. I called the Houston office early in the morning but nobody answered. Then I tried to contact the head office. The head office person said that after the check, the furniture was lose...... Then I contacted Costco. Costco said they will contact the shipping company. In the afternoon, I called the Houston office again. They said they seemed to find the shipment and they will give me confirmation today. But until now, 6 p.m. in the evening, I have not received a call. They already closed......... I really dont understand why Costco cooperated with this company........ This is reducing Costcos own brand. Why they cannot actively identify the problem? Why they cannot call their clients?
My company has had 3 prepaid freight deliveries from YRC in the past couple of months. In all 3 cases, the driver brought the pallets inside of his own accord and had one of our secretaries sign. We later received an extra $120 invoice for “inside delivery” for each occurrence. When we addressed this issue with management, they said there was an inside delivery box checked on the signed delivery slip document so we should have known. We get deliveries all the time, but our secretary was supposed to know to stop the YRC delivery at the door and disallow him in he building to avoid the $120 charge. How about a simple “if I deliver this inside, it will be an extra charge” comment from the delivery man? I fully believe this is a racket where they intentionally try to get extra money.
My package got there on Saturday . On Monday @ 2:15 pm I had to call them and schedule a drop off to make sure that it was loaded up and ready to come to me in Galveston on Tuesday . The lady said it will be there tomorrow between 9-5, No Problem, Have a good day . I took tuesday off and stayed home waiting for it . Tuesday 5:30 pm NO PACKAGE . I called, got the same woman and big surprise it was still there sitting on their dock ! she said I dont know why it didnt ship out, it was marked ! apparently no one knows how to read or do their job correctly at this place . avoid these ass clowns at all cost.

Using YRC Freight has been a very disappointing experience. In the last 18 months, on four different occasions Ive had to go to YRC on Wallisville Road and pick up my freight because I could not get them to deliver it in a timely manner.The only good thing I can say about YRC, is that when the drivers delivered the freight to my place they were always helpful and friendly. I wish the rest of the company was the same way.
We shipped a package using YRC with insurance. The package got to its destination, but the item was damaged. When we called to made the claim, we were turned down, and we were told the item was already damaged when we shipped it or we didnt packet it wright. I used them in the past but never again.
I gave this Review a one but it is really zero or less. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. If you order something, make sure they are not using this company to deliver. I ordered a small refrigerator and that company used YRC Freight. YRC Freight has held me hostage for 5 hrs per day, in my own home, for three days in a row because they promised they were delivering and didnt. Its ok to change the delivery date but not promise and promise a customer day after day that it will be delivered and yet not even call the customer to let him know that it is still sitting in the warehouse in Dallas. This company is a joke. They are liars and dont care one once about the customer. There are solution to the problems of this company. Hire a new CEO, change the entire process for dealing with customers and delivery, and fire everyone, hire new people and start over. I will just have to make sure that any company Im ordering from, will not use YRC Freight.
One star because the product showed up. This freight company does not care about your product and your satisfaction. You will need to hogtie the freight driver so you can check your items, so be sure if it’s automotive parts being delivered to a shop they know, have rope handy. The driver apparently didn’t want to get wet in the rain so he drops my product out in the rain. He then came to the shop’s parts door asked for a signature for parts delivery and booked it out of there. Of course, I get a call their’s a crack in my product. So, I now have to file a claim and they have 30 DAYS TO RESPOND! In the meantime, my car has no bumper. Is customer service in their vocabulary?
Should be a zero... Terrible customer service. The driver asked if he could put the delivery in the garage. A few weeks later I get a bill for inside delivery. YRC acknowledges that the driver should have told me the garage would be an additional charge, but won’t remove the charge from my account. Avoid this company.

They used to be a good freight company 10 yrs ago, but I am experiencing the same issues, nobody answers the phone, didnt show up on scheduled delivery date (that they set), no phone call to tell me the truck broke down, nobody answers the phone to reschedule. I lose more money having guys stand around for this delivery than the cost of shipping. I am going to complain to the shipper and see if they can get a different company to pick up the freight at YRC and deliver it.
This company is shady. They quote you one thing but double it on your bill. They make their own rules to justify their increases. They also charge the same fees over and over. The way they run their company I think has to be illegal.
Our company called YRC on 4/20/15 to pick up some freight. That freightis still sitting in our warehouse and its now 4/22/15. When I try to call themto remind them we have freight that hasnt been picked up the phone justrings and rings. I give them a F on customer service and reliability.
ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE customer service!!Called the # listed on their website multiple times, & only got voicemail, had to write a different # down after going through multiple promps for shipment that the first # had, but only had voicemail as an option. After 40-50 mins. of being on hold, calling back multiple times, & only being able to reach an actual person 2 different times (1st one was no help at all), the second human I spoke with was able to finally contact someone and verify my shipment with second-hand info. Im now on hold to speak to a manager, the only outlet for making a complaint. - Im not a complainer, just want this company to fix their terrible customer service!!
If I could leave zero stars I would. They are ridiculously inept. Three times I have shipped LTL with them this year. NEVER have they EVER delivered on time to any destination. This last time they even handed the shipment over to another company for delivery, without any information in the system. Their tracking notes show DELIVERED. I called them about it when my customer said they never received it. The CUSTOMER SERVICE rep was rude when I asked about it. They are not worth the price you save!
They are ALWAYS late when picking-up shipments. They have been anywhere from a few hours late to three whole days late in making a pick-up and each time I call to inquire if it will be picked up I am informed that they will be there that day, and they would apologize and say they didnt have a driver in the area the previous day. Unacceptable. I would never proactively choose to use them.
THE WORST FREIGHT COMPANY EVER! Shipment #1: These guys were 4 days late on picking up a shipment I had to cancel it and send air freight at double the cost because it was time specific and theyd missed any ability to get it there. So I figured Id only use them when I could afford to be (very) late. Shipment #2: It was picked up late, delivered late (I was waiting in my warehouse until 8pm after days of waiting and chasing them up because the driver was on his way and then went home and nobody told me.) A driver also opened a box and helped himself to a couple of units on the way. It was only to a value of about $10 but thats my $10! Shipment #3: was the LAST STRAW and NEVER AGAIN. I rang on the Monday to find out where the load was since it was due the week before. They claim they tried to deliver it on Friday night and we werent there. They didnt call us to arrange a drop off window, they didnt call when they said they tried to deliver (my phone number is in massive letters on my back dock and the driver didnt bother calling me - although I seriously doubt they turned up at all) and then they charged me 50% of the freight again ($324) for re-delivery holding my pallet ransom! Im DISGUSTED! What a SCAM!!!!! These guys should be ashamed of themselves. I gather since most of these reviews are 1 star that scamming people is probably the only way they can get money since clearly they are incompetent in freighting product. NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I USE SUCH AN INEPT AND UNETHICAL COMPANY!
Worst shipping experience of my life. Promised delivery 3 days in a row after I called and talked to management everyday. Never delivered and on the last day said the driver ran out of time. I had to hire another trucking company to go pick up from their warehouse so had to double pay for the shipment.

Rude and very unprofessional. They Scheduled 2 different delivery dates and they no call no showed on both costing us over $1200 for a forklift we ordered to offload the machine. We ended up going and picking up our fright from them with our own trailer. They will never see business from us again!

CUSTOMERS BEWARE! I worked with Kathy/Cathy (sp?) to have my shipment delivered. The shipment originally left the east coast on 3/10/2014 and was SUPPOSED To be received at the hub that following Friday. Friday came and left without YRC notifying me that the delivery window was NOT going to be met. I called and scheduled a delivery for the following Tuesday. YRC missed the shipment window again because the clerk had allegedly entered the wrong date. Another day of vacation wasted. I asked for a shorter delivery window so I could take less time off and the shipment window was missed again (today) 3/21 because the package had NOT been loaded on the truck as promised. I had to escalate to the center manager to get the package on a truck. Every time I had to find out that something was NOT done when it was supposed to be done. Call their 800 number and theyll tell you the package is on the truck when it isnt. Well see if it is delivered as promised later today. My experience with this outfit tells me that I have to have to babysit my own package with repeated calls to facilitate its shipment. Your results may vary, but I wont use these people again.
Absolutely the WORST freight company I have ever had the displeasure dealing with. My shipment went from NY to Houston in a couple of days but when it wasnt delivered after 4 days of sitting at the terminal I contacted them. I was told they now could not locate it at the terminal dock and that went on for a week. Come to finally find out, it was *accidentally* reloaded on a truck and it went all the way back to the east coast and then to Ohio where it sat for another week. When I eventually received it the pallet was not as it was when it left NY initially. When it left it was wrapped with shipping wrap and had a do not stack sign affixed to the top of the two large boxes, yet when I received it there was no wrap at all and it was just my two boxes sitting loosely on a pallet. Luckily there appears to be no damage but this is ridiculous, if I could negatively star this company I would.
I would give it 0 stars if I could. Horrible company! I was supposed to receive a call from the driver 30 mins prior to delivery. He didnt even bother. Shipment was a bed, so I was expecting two guys to show up. Only 1 person showed up asked my help to move the furniture in the house. I just had surgery on my leg and luckily the furniture was not heavy. I would be suing you guys if I had hurt my leg again while help your dumb driver.

Rude customer service, doesnt honor delivery within the scheduled amount of time. Gets upset to the point of hanging up on you, when told if not delivered within correct time period, not paying the freight charge. Not the customers fault/receiver, they dont have contact number, poor management on their part. Material shouldnt be shown loaded out for delivery online for days, with that excuse. How hard is it to pick up the phone and contact the shipper and ask the necessary information that should of been checked on the freight bill, before picking up the shipment.

I bought a commercial hood from Hood Mart and they used YRC for delivery. I was given tracking number and delivery date of April 26th. From the day I ordered, I provided both my phone number and instruction for delivery to not get lost in the plaza where my business is located. I was told that delivery driver will give a range of time when hes out for delivery.By April 26th, I got a call from their customer service desk saying that the delivery will not be made and it will arrive the next day, the 27th. I asked if they still have my Note about calling me before delivery and that they got the instruction to find my business in the plaza; the rep said yes, they got all the notes and that the driver will call my number (verified) 1hr before coming to the shop. I asked if the package is too big and that it will need a lift gate for unloading since I have limited labor force with me. She said it is in many small packages that can be removed from the pallet easily and perhaps a lift gate is not required.On the 27th, I got an email notification saying that the package is out for delivery. I checked Google Map to see that YRC Houston is 30min away from my shop but I never got a phone call. I called both their 1800 number and YRC Houston number and nobody picked up. By 1hr and a half from the notification, I got a call from the Driver saying hes ALREADY at the Plaza in front of the HEB (because hes lost). I asked why he didnt call and why he didnt read the note provided to know where my shop is and he said he only has the Bill of Lading, no note at all.Then I raced to the shop to find that there are 3 HUGE Crates which 2 people will have a hard time unloading. In 1 huge crate, there were 3 small boxes in there while the listing for delivery only show 3 items.Basically, this company is not in full control of what theyre doing; missing notes from customer TWICE; Late delivery notice at last minute; customer service does not know status of package since there was so lack of details (just imagine if something from my package fell out, they would never have a clue since they only see 3 items).Other than that, the delivery driver was super nice to me and was very helpful as we unload everything. He has been working there for 17 years. I sure hope this company starts to put themselves together to maintain jobs for nice people like him. Without him, I would give a 1 star for this experience.

THIS PLACE IS SERIOUSLY AWFUL! I ordered a swing set for my son from Costco for Christmas. Ordered it at the end of November and got a call on December 7th from YRC to schedule a delivery for December 10th between 9 - 5 only to take an entire day off from work to wait and wait and not have it show up. Called the company at 4:45 that afternoon to find out what was going on and she said the truck had mechanical problems in Dallas and didnt make it to Houston on time. Okay, fair enough..so we rescheduled the delivery for the following Monday (December 14th between 9 - 5 AGAIN) for me to use more vacation time from work and wait for it to arrive. Decided to call the company around 11 to make sure the delivery was still scheduled to be here that day..and the lovely lady informs me that while it has now arrived at the Houston location, it is not loaded on a truck to be delivered and I will have to schedule another delivery day (any day other than that day) to have them bring it out. As you can imagine, Im extremely frustrated by now and really irritated with the lack of communication! I know they have my phone number so it would have been nice of them to inform me when they would not be making their scheduled delivery! Therefore we now reschedule for Thursday, December 17th (between 8 - 5) another whole day wasted from work to sit around and wait for the swing set to arrive. This time I have called them at least 4 times throughout the days leading up to the delivery to make sure they are coming this time. I am getting so frustrated with this place and WILL NEVER have anything delivered by them ever again. Its been way more of a headache than its even worth!!
YRC has had our freight since 10/2. It is now 10/27, and freight has not been delivered!! Reps are not helpful. I would not recommend them to anyone ever!

Stuff happens...does in all aspects of business. But I am frequently if not overwhelmingly happy with the service on the phone, or with the drivers, or the folks at the dock.
Poor customer service. The driver didnt want to pull the truck into the hotel parking lot, he instead wanted us to go out to the truck and unload it. Directed the driver to the parking lot and pulled in and informed us that he didnt have a dolly to unload the truck. Lastly, he didnt want to bring the delivery in and place it in the designated area. I attempted to call YRC but as the previous reviewers stated, no one answers the phone.
