Wow.Glad I read the reviews. I’m trying to do the right thing but it seems like going to this place is the wrong thing to do.So sad that there are places like this that are willing to take advantage of good people. Karma is very real though.I guess I’ll keep looking...Thanks guys for the reviews

Ive been trying to find a lawyer to help me with my case but the guy sounded like a sales man and then someone just called me for my credit card and it sounded like a call center. If I look at the reviews on here, I am scared to sign up with them as they dont seem to get back to them and time isnt important to them. I think the dollar is just as important to them and its just another sheep in wolves clothing.

This place was all about helping me when i first contacted them made me feel trust for them i payed them 750 for services i was missenformed i was recieving told them i do not wish to use this service i want my money refunded and through text mind you because this is the only way they will communicate with you after they recieve the payment from you text me its non refundable and have rendered no services to me and after reading the reviews they are doing this to every body. So this no profit organization who claims to help people that need it is simply ripping people off

They bugged me for the money once they got paid, they no longer answer their phones. then the lady said that they moved locations I asked for the new address she refused to give me the new address which is very unprofessional . They want it for more hundred dollars and I told him no because the Texas legal aid was going to help me file the paperwork for free and now I dont hear nothing back from him at all.. and is very sad because people look to them for Hope and resolution and all we did was get screwed over.

They dont answer the phone! During covid-19 they havent been helping me at all. But they continue to take my money please find away to get help else where because I wish I did Im thousand dollars in 😭😭😭😭

This place is horrible. Ps- American Family Law Center is the same place with 400 plus 4 star reviews mixed in with 1 star reviews. Dont get fooled. Youll still have to get a Lawyer! They wont help you and when one of their attorneys can finally see you and they finally send you paperwork itll be too late. Your opposing party will have something already filed. Just do yourself a favor and get a lawyer.

I called and asked simple questions and the receptionist refused to answer and hanged up on me. She didn’t even give me a chance to make an appointment. From the looks of it this place just takes payment and does not work for you. Place is pathetic and a joke. Help yourself and get a real lawyer that helps your case!

Continue to hang up on my friend even though my friend is a client. Such rude receptionists. My friend had to do all the work and they helped with absolutely nothing at all. Would never recommend this place to anyone. I wonder how they are still in business.

This place is not good they only have 3 attorneys here Ive been here since 8am and I am still here its 2pm in I still have 6 people in front of me. So first come first serve you wait more than 5 hours. You can be here waiting at 8am when they open in youll still be here.

Paid them to get help to get full custody of my child once they got the money they never wanted to answer just a question since its been since 2013 I did all the paper work and never got no notice about everything I did for my son. Would never recommend this TO NO ONE!!! Fraud.

Everyone in the waiting room have the same complaint, theyre very very slow at doing your paperwork. For example its been over 1 week and I am still waiting for approval on my affidavit for emergency custody and I paid the additional expedite rush fee, they told me this approval takes 24 hours, after its approved they need to prepare it which takes weeks unless you pay another expedite fee, so here I am in a middle of an emergency expecting to have it by now and its not even being looked at yet. While I was there everyone in the waiting room had bad things to say, some lady said shes been waiting for 3 weeks for the affidavit approval(for something they say it takes 24 hours), the Secretary comes in and I hear her tell this womanwe cant find your affidavit, I need you to rewrite it, and since you dont speak English you need to get someone to translate it the woman got upset and said how could this be? I called and called and you guys said you received it?!, I felt so bad for her. Word of advice save the $600 youre going to WASTE, all they do here is barely give you advice, youre better off calling the Houston bar association on Wednesday and get FREE law advice. Its faster to do it on your own, go down to the court house and file the documents, they also have lawyers at the court house you can ask, but just call the Houston bar association and they will tell you which forms you need and the steps. The name Fathers For Equal Rights sounds so good when youre desperate and need help, but theyre just taking peoples money, they dont keep their end of the deal, before you pay they tell you its only 24 hour wait for approval, 3 day wait if you pay expedite fee for them to prepare the paperwork for you, then YOU have to take it down to the court house and file it your self. Fathers For Equal Rights only have 1 random lawyer on duty, people get there before 8am to make a line to see a lawyer, then you wait 3-4 hours to only get 10 minutes to explain your situation to this lawyer, then he rushes you out, and you got NOTHING accomplished. Like I said take those 4 hours youre going to be sitting in this waiting room and go down to the court house, prepare your paperwork, file it the same day for $50. Trust me....you will l regret using them...Update 9/16/13:They screwed up my court papers twice, they only included one of my children, and put someone elses name instead of mine, I was told it was ready last week but would not let me come pick it up until today, then the girl hands me the SAME screwed up paperwork. Ive asked if I could cancel my membership and get a refund because they have not done anything for me, they said I signed a contract that states no refunds. Ive asked to speak to the sales person who made me all these promises, who made it sound like he was going to help me, they wont let you speak with the person who sold you the services, theyre aware of what theyre doing thats why they have separate waiting rooms, that way the new people trying to join wont hear the complaints. Everyone in the waiting room have the same issue, they dont care about your case.Take my advise, just get free consolation over the phone from the Houston bar association and do the paperwork yourself.

I thought this place was going to help me :(Its a none profit.I do understand that, but for what they dont talk about is $150.00 nonrefundable$300.00 for you to be a member for one yr I think?$300.00 to do the paperwork .$50.00 to rush paper work.It will take 2 to 3 weeks.SmhI paid $300.00 for paper work somewhere.And I didnt paid court fee.Plus it took 2 days to do paper work.I thought of this place for long timeTook 7 minutes to realize was a no no.

Worst place ever they are wolfs dressed in sheeps clothes. Especially the guy you first see to sign up they promise you a lot but as soon as you make a payment your screwed waiting in a room with no help. The room you wait in for hours & hours feels like a daycare because of all the kids with their parents if it wasnt for the kids it would feel like jail. Your better off at the law library doing your research if your desperate enough to go to them seriously bad people trust me.

This was absolutely the worst experience one could ever have when in need of representation and/or help with family issues. The $600 that I spent was a total waste. They told me to write an affidavit with all the facts. When I did so they said it was too long and I had to rewrite it. Eventually it was approved and I filed all the paperwork to court. The process server company did not serve the mother the paperwork so when I got to court we were just turned away. I called F4ER and they told me that I would have to wait in line to speak to a lawyer again and it could take all day. This was a total FAIL.

A year after my wife walked out on me and the children we were still married and I decided to take action I could not afford an attorney so a friend of mine told me about fathersforequalrights. I went down to hear what they had to say and from the very beginning they insisted they could help me. In order for me to receive their help I would have to become a member of their organization, a membership that costs $550 per year. I figured $500 is much better then thousands of dollars a lawyer would cost. After you become a member you are then informed that the staff attorneys do not work by appointment. It is on a first come first serve basis. When I showed up I had to wait 3 hours in a tiny cramped waiting area with various other people. The quality of most of the people here in the waiting room with makes one feel as though they are waiting in line to get euthanized. I was finally able to see an attorney who quickly took my information in about 20 minutes, they didnt want me to go into detail about anything she said she would get all the necessary documents and paperwork in order for me to take to court to file. divorce. When I take this paper to the court they looked at it like I had just thrown a bunch of regurgitated garbage I pulled off the internet onto their desk so immediately I went back to the law Center. This time I was told in order for me to have any amendments made to my paper work, by the way I have already waited two months for this paperwork by this time, I would need to schedule an appointment. Will this time the appointment had to be on a Saturday and the first Saturday that they had available was going to be at least 10 to 12 weeks away. Patiently I awaited that day. During my appointment as the attorney was looking over the papers I am now told that my case has become too sophisticated for them to handle but the same attorney would be happy to take the case or rather refer me to a friend where I would then have to pay do have legal representation wish I could have done from the very beginning. I told them how much of a joke I thought their services work and requested a refund as it is stated in the initial signing of the contract. Apparently that only pertains if you cancel your membership before you talk to anyone. What a joke

My BF went here to get custody of his daughter since her mom passed away and these people have been no help at all. The paper work is done wrong and they take forever to give it back. They lost his paperwork twice!!! This is a waste of $500 dollars, please just consult a lawyer. A lawyer is not included in their price, you only get a free consultation and if you decide to hire them you have to pay out of pocket.

I HATE FATHERS 4 EQUAL RIGHTS. And I refrain from using the word HATE.They take advantage of you because you are DESPERATE and want to believe they will save you from losing your kids.After they take your money they start to speak to you in a belittling way, like you DO NOT MATTER and they act like you are taking their valuable time, some act like they are there because they are doing community service.Today I have my kids full time, only because I played smart and played the system rules, the most ironic thing is I used a pro bono woman lawyer from ADVA, Aid To Victims Of Domestic Abuse. FATHERS 4 EQUAL RIGHTS SHOULD BE TAKEN HEAD ON AS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

People should be careful of this place . They just collect your money for nothing, all they after is your money, they will not tell you many things all they will be after is wheres your money. And when they tell you sign here, tell them you want to take it home and read before you sign, a lot of the English has contradict you . They wont tell you your money is no tegu

These group is just free marketing for lawyers. They give u papers to file- information you can find at the courts.You can google forms now days.They are useless.

DO NOT WASTE UR MONEY PLEASE GET A REAL LAWYER!!!They are slow...ull be sitting all day in a crowded room to ask one question...they take to long to get you ur paper work..and then they dont even do it right!!! u have to file everything with the courts urself which are all things u can pay a LAWYER to do its there job I knw its pricey but damn why waste ur money and look like an ass in court?? I was lucky the court girl liked me and set me up with a good lawyer i could afford and reset my court date before i saw the judge...but it was after i had already wasted my hard earned money on these fathers rights losers >:( ... GET A LAWYER!! IF UR THIS DESPERATE THESE MF WONT HELP TRUST ME. GOD is good and will get u through this.
