I needed a new mechanic, and my sister recommended Upland Automotive. She couldn’t stress enough how much she and her husband love this place. I went in with an engine light on, a horn going out, due for an oil change and a state inspection. They were able to do all of that for $360! They communicated well about time it would take and cost, and they never pushed something I didn’t need. Super friendly and considerate staff!

My Daughter and I stopped by to see the guys at Upland the other day and to get her oil changed, as she had to make a long drive back to West Texas.We all had a nice visit, as weve been going there for auto maintenance and repair ever since they opened. Theyve known my Daughter since she was an early driver. Now shes married with a child! Old Friends are a Joy!Early on, Upland proved their honesty to me when they referred me and my Daughters troublesome Volkswagen Jetta to the Dealer, for a Catalytic Converter RECALL, rather than charging me big bucks to do the same thing. I wouldnt have known about the RECALL, unless Upland had told me.Since then, Upland has maintained and or fixed a long string of my familys fleet, and Ive always been pleased with the price and results. Never had to go back for a re-do.These are tough times. For maintenance and/or repair, go see Upland for a fair price, good work and friendly people.

I started bringing my vehicles here to get a second opinion 8 years ago when they saved me over $1000 that the other shop wanted to charge me and havent used another mechanic ever since. Even after I moved 20 min away its worth the drive to get an honest diagnosis from Jay and with 180,000 miles on my truck he gets it back on the road quickly. This time I broke the pitman arm. Glad to tell others about a good small business.

The owner Shakil is a thorough gentleman and very honest and transparent on any business transaction. Jay is a very skilled and experienced repair technician. They won my heart when he agreed to reduce the repair charge when he learned that I was in a pinch, during 2009 recession.

Im the kind of person that likes to save money by working on my own vehicles and am pretty good at it. But, occasionally, I get stuck in a pickle with something I cant figure out. One such occasion happened and I needed to see a mechanic. I used to live in the Kingwood area and had a good mechanic I used, but the vehicle in question couldnt drive that far. I researched online and stumbled upon Upland. I spoke with Jay for what felt like a few minutes, but was probably half an hour. Hes very friendly and knowledgeable. Jay has a lot of years of experience working on vehicles and that is priceless. He worked with me to only charge what was needed and helped by explaining to me, mechanically speaking, what he did to fix the problem so that I may be able to fix it myself next time. To me, you cant put a price on that and I will forever be a customer of Upland Auto.

Solved the problem with my truck at a very fair price

I have been going to Upland for about 6-7 years. They have gone above and beyond helping me keep my 2007 Mustang in good running condition. They are honest and trustworthy. They even show me work that needs to be done so that I will understand. I wont go anywhere else. I am truly thankful!

So, I had a vehicle that had quite a bit of rust and some suspension damage on it. I wasnt sure any professional auto shop would be willing to dig into it (I mean quite rusty). The coil spring had literally broken from the rust and the car wasnt safe to drive. I found these guys on a google search and read through the reviews. I have to agree about their quality of service. I met with their head mechanic and Shakil while I was there. Not only did they fix my issue completely, they shopped a hard-to-find coil and worked to keep the cost as low as possible. As a side note, they found my much coveted apple Airpods hidden under my seat that I thought I had lost! Shakil called me just to tell me that. So, thats clearly personal touch and a team of guys that care. Work was done quickly, professionally and at a fair cost. Now that Ive seen all of the services they perform (including body work) I am customer for life. a+ fellas!!

These guys take great care of my 2002 Suburban with 240k miles and my wifes 2006 Mercedes with 110k miles. Two things I value in a business transaction which are honesty and integrity and both were violated by Shakil and Upland Automotive representatives. Never in my 29 years of living on this beautiful earth have I wrote a negative review about any company but after dealing with Upland Automotive I must express my mortification with the service I received. I had radiator work done at this establishment on January 6 2020, and was billed 581.35 for the following coolant hose, bypass hose, hose clamps, water pump assembly, thermostat and gasket and labor. Within two days of receiving the car, my car is overheating again! I take my car back to Upland Automotive, Shakil has the audacity to charge me again for labor and parts on the work he mis- diagnose for the first treatment. Not only have I lost money due to Shakils treacherous business dealings I also lost time which I will never get back. And as I was leaving Jay Wilson told me to make sure I get my hoses replaced. Please if you want to save time and money look elsewhere in regard to automotive service.

Don’t buy a car from here I bought a used car from this shop and after 5 days I got the engine system check sign was on. And I the car has massive oil licking problems so I have to refill the motor engine oil every two weeks. I am going to sell it soon. So I hope you guys will be safe after knowing there deals. In my 75 years of life on Earth, Upland Automotive is by far the most capable, honest, knowledgeable, up-to-date, smart and dependable auto repair service I have ever found.As one example of Uplands expertise and excellent treatment of its customers, my wife and I took our car to Upland early in the week and told them that we could not get the radio and CD player to work after we changed the car battery and put in the correct code (shown in the owners manual).I said that I was willing to pay the estimated several-hundred-dollar cost for a replacement radio and CD player and installation, as we were about to leave for Austin and always enjoy the radio and CD player on any trip.A few hours later that same day, Upland called and said Lee of Upland had correctly used the code, and the radio and CD player were working fine and that the cost was zero!

I started coming here based on the stellar reviews online. Upland automotive lives up to its reputation. They are very honest and will not try to sell you anything you do not need. Shakil and Jay are amazing and will take care of you. Prices are fair, and the quality of work is superb. I cant imagine trusting my cars with any other autoshop.

Upon arrival too busy to do vehicle repair in the morning, but someone in the back office was like go ahead and take it in. I was charged $98 just for a basic inspection of the repairs the vehicle needed but no codes or explanation was really offered to me, instead just a hurry and pick your truck up if we wont be performing $2000 service on it. I had it towed elsewhere to find out the repairs they simply guessed at where no issue at all and my serviced needed costed me !/4 of this bogus charge they calculated the dealership isnt this expensive.

Compared to other quotes wed gotten for the same work, they were extremely reasonable. We agreed to drop the car off early in the morning so that the work could be done in one day. When it took longer than expected, they stayed an hour over closing time to finish. I cant recommend them enough.

I have been a customer for years. We went all the way to their old location on Upland Blvd because we knew they would treat us fairly and do a great job. When they moved to Westhiemer we were thrilled. I have never been dissatisfied by the quality of the work or the price. Service is what they do. For example I went to the movies in my car and when I came out I could not start it. Friends came to my rescue and we got it over to Upland. It was late at night and I had to get it fixed by the next evening because I was selling it. In the morning Upland checked it, found it needed a starter and had it fixed in time for me to sell the car.

I, as well as many of my neighbors, have used Upland since they moved to the Westheimer location. Shakil and Jay have always been honest, dependable, courteous and helpful.
