My 1994 Toyota 4runner was recently at this shop for a concern with it not maintaining a consistent idle adjustment. $515.00 later I was told that my car was ready but would need the cable that goes from the throttle body to the transmission to kick down the passing gear. Other than that it was suppose to have more power but only 300 yards from the facility the check engine light came on and the vehicle lost power. I took it back, raised the hood and requested James presence. One thing I immediately noticed was that one of the throttle body linkages was missing and James said it was never there. I immediately corrected him and said that indeed it was and thats when he looked behind the ignition striker and saw the cable laying there. He connected it. I then told him that my car was basically not running any better than it was and slightly worst, and that for the $515.00 price I felt jilted, to which he didnt show much compassion. I took my car and left and took it to another shop after it completely stopped on me and they replace a burned starter relay and the car now runs fine. I will never use LaRue again. #FellingCheatedIndeed.

Amazing shop! Brought my truck in for a new transmission, and it was turned around in less than 48 hours! James is great with communication and goes the extra mile to make sure it’s right before you pick it up.

Rushed after work to get my AC checked. I arrived not even 5 mins before closing time and they were awesome enough to still help me. They were able to fit me in the very next day. Very polite and great customer service. My husband previously brought in his vehicle and thats how I found out about this place. Will definitely return again when and if needed.

Impressed with the level of service provided here. I had an issue with a BMW where a code was not diagnosed by a previous auto shop that kept the car for 3 days. At this shop I sat for 20 minutes and got a price and clear diagnosis for my vehicle. I recommend greatly!

My wife and I two weeks ago on Wednesday encountered a coolant explosion that put our vehicle at a halt. We got it towed to NTB where they initially said we would need to replace both head gaskets. Later referred La Rue where explained and showed us it was only a hose. Not only these guys gave Integrity but they also gave us a really good deal.

Amazing service. My 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Mercedes 3.0L diesel was leaking oil. My normal mechanic told me the block was cracked, so I needed a new vehicle. The dealership where I bought the jeep refused to service it because it was too old. Another mechanic couldnt work on it because it was a diesel, but recommended LaRue to me. So glad they did. These guys know diesels. They diagnosed the problem as 2 separate issues, but not a cracked block. They took the time to show me everything they did including with pictures of the disassembled engine. This is my new go to place for my jeep. Both the owner James and the mechanic that worked on my jeep are really nice guys.

Have used them a few times in the past with good results. My last visit really tells the story... I thought I was looking at expensive front end work. However, after the diagnostics James reported that it was a bad tire. This could have gone a different direction. Thanks for the honest work.

Great shop. Honest and skilled group of guys. Best place I have found in Houston. I work as a mechanical engineer but when it comes to fixing my car I always bring it here, they are better at it and I trust their opinion.

Had a Ford 6.0 repaired by them that had nothing but problems after coming back from their facilities. They were supposed to install new heads, head gaskets, studs, basically a new top end into the truck. The truck ran terribly after coming back from them and continually blew turbos and drank oil. When we took delivery of the truck it was also low nearly one gallon of oil. After many angry calls back and forth one of our managers was told that he was on a recorded line with one of their employees. In that call their employee told us that they had never replaced the heads and merely put back the one that the trucks came with and just installed a new head gasket and studs. This is after they had asked me to purchase multiple thousands of dollars worth of new parts (including heads directly from ford) and paid out thousands in additional labor charges to have those parts installed. Absolutely ridiculous that this could happen and this level of dishonesty is quite frankly ridiculous. After inspecting the truck the quality of the work was terrible and the valves were leaking. The owner states that his employee made a mistake in telling me that. It looks like the mistake he was referring to was being honest about the work he had done.

I had an older diesel truck that was starting to give me issues and after taking it to multiple mechanic shops and a dealership, I luckily stumbled upon LaRue Automotive. They originally diagnosed and quoted the issue as one item needing to be replaced. I agreed to the quote and asked that they continue in order to get it fixed. After running into multiple other problems which required further troubleshooting, LaRue ended up repairing/ replacing WAY more parts than originally quoted and didnt charge me anything (Or even ask for) more than the original quote for the original prognosis. This company and the people they employ have high ethical standards and know what it means to take care of a customer. This is why I will bring all my automotive service needs to LaRue Automotive first and let them tell me they cant do it before I waste my time anywhere else. I needed a good family owned mechanic service to correct the mistakes made by another garage. All for reasonable cost and a good explanation of the service.

They work hard, give a fair price, and are incredibly knowledgeable.

I called one guy, he was going to charge me $250 just to change the spark plugs. Not being from this area went on google to look for a shop closer and affordable, called LaRue spoke with Rex/James and they was like bring it on in and let us look at it and see whats wrong. Brought my truck in and they were able to find the problem which was not the spark plugs. They took my truck back and was done in about a hour and a half.

Great mechanics. Friendly staff. I will continue to support them.
