Great service great price quick and fast

One of the best haircuts I ever had. The lady who cut my hair, Ms. Solda ( I hope I got the name correctly), was very polite and solicitous. She asked me how I wanted my hair cut and then went on to do an excellent job. Wont go anywhere else next time I stay for some days in Houston, which sadly wont be any time soon.

I absolutely loved this place. $6 for a haircut and it looked just as s good as the expensive hipster Barber shop I was going to. It feels like your Hispanic tias cutting your hair. They offer beard/razor shaves too for a couple bucks more. It is cash only though so bring cash!

Inflation has not hit Mikes Barbershop. A $6 haircut is unheard of anymore. I have never made an appointment and have always gotten a great haircut and wonderful service. Cash only, so come prepared. I always give the barber $10. Thats a bargain compared to the competition. Its the unicorn of barber shops.

This place opened up before I graduated H.S. 97. Went to it while in college. Last haircut I got before leaving to the army in 07 was here. I come back and Mikes is still here. Just came from there. It was my first time. Heres my experience: pulled up & parked, walked inside and was seated immediately, explained my haircut choice, got it (warning, they use compressed air instead of a brush to blow off clippings, in case youre not used to that), paid $6 + $2 tip (cash only), walked out and drove back to the office. I was in and out in ten minutes. And the ladies working there were very nice, very friendly and seemed to enjoy an easy-going, jovial rapport with each other and regulars. It kinda felt like walking into your watering hole where everybody knows your name. No joke. Im pretty happy with my haircut, the experience and the huge savings from going to that chain that uses the black towels steamed with tea tree oil. For what I pay for one haircut trip there I can get 3 at Mikes Place. Conclusion: Im going back.UPDATE: Just returned for another haircut. I got to sit in a chair for all of 30 seconds before a stylist was ready for me. She was friendly, quick and professional and did a great job. Enjoyed the rapport among employees and with customers. Very satisfied again. Looks like this will be my go-to place from now on. The only thing that could make this better would be a cold beer in your hand.

Place is absolutely great. Haircuts are only $6!! You cannot beat that price and I have no complaints about the quality of the haircut. Never had to wait too long here, they are good about a quick. Only thing to note is they are cash only so be sure to bring cash to pay.

You get the best haircut in this unpretentious barbershop in a dumpy little shopping center. All Hispanic ladies, as good as any SuperCuts and only eight bucks ! No long waits even when busy. Youll find your favorite hair-cutter there and can request her the next time (mine is Francis). Highly recommend.

Usually fast, always cheap. Their very old sign says haircuts are $5, but theyve been $6 for the two years Ive been going there. For me the haircuts seem just as good as the $20+ places. If you want fancy hair or a fancy salon this is not for you.

I love it! I go in and out in a few minutes and the price is very reasonable. The ladies who do my hair are very nice and knowledgeable. For men only, and kids too. They are quite busy. One thing though: Cash only.

Well to be honest pulling up to mikes barber shop at first kind of almost push me away due to the fact of the buildings structure. But I can’t complain cuz it’s not what it looks like on the outside it’s what’s in the inside and when I stepped in I was given a warm welcome by the lovely ladies that do the cutting. It’s a Hispanic place so Spanish is the main language spoken there but I’m sure the ladies understand English lol. I didn’t have to wait and gave me a damn good cut in such a short period of time. I also wanted to express that while getting my haircut I enjoyed seeing a gentleman walk in clearly a English man and told the lady cutting his hair how he wanted it in Spanish. Which he did a great job. All together it was a great atmosphere.

This is my new favorite barber shop. The chairs still have ashtrays in the arm rests (although no smoking), the wait is short if any, and the haircuts are good. I find that by paying $6 plus tip, I dont scrutinize my haircut as much so Im happier, and I get my haircut more often so my cuts are more consistent. Just remember to bring cash.

Fair warning: I get a buzz on the sides and Im bald on top. People with significant hair might have a different experience. But for my needs: Mikes is super fast, super cheap, and yet still attentive to detail. Tip well, they deserve it.

This is my 2nd time coming here and the haircut i received was mediocre at best. The lady at the very end by where the compressor is didnt either understand what high fade meant orto blend nor line up a beard. I should of really explained what i was looking for but a barber should know what their doing. My fade is not good, and one side is a little higher than the other. My hair was wet so it was hard to tell if it was done right but it sure did hide her mistakes really well. when i dried it is when i notice the errors. My instinct was to go with Martha at first who did a decent job the first time i came but i figured any of the stylists could deliver the same consistency from before but i was wrong.. lol, all good. Just dont go the lady at the end with glasses on.

This is fast and inexpensive - hard to beat $6. The lady that cut my hair spoke passable english and was able to understand my instructions. Barbers tend to cut my hair too short - unless theyve been cutting your hair for years and know how to best cut it, its going to be hit and miss. I would go back and maybe use the same one, but give a little more instruction.

Haircuts are six bucks here. Seriously. Ask for Martha, she always takes care of me and does a good job.

Great if on a budget, however come prepared to speak Spanish. this is all they speak. thus makes it hard if you only speak English. Also the cash only policy sucks if you dont have cash on hand. So come prepared or pay the price at the ATM next door(2 $ fee) Otherwise the haircut you receive for the price is not bad, but dont expect anything fancy.

In and out within 30 minutes.Simple services, 6 bucks, make it 10 with tip.To my new regular barber shop, keep up the good work and thank you for being there!

The best! Let me start by saying this is not truly a barbershop, The ladies who work here are not licensed barbers, they do not use razors. However, this is the best hair cut you can get in town and its only $6! Ive been coming here for over a year for the best tappers, and fades ask for Yaneth believe me she is worth the wait!

$6 for haircut as compared to price its nothing for services they are providing, staff is friendly and they are good listeners they need some improvement in cleanliness of floors and seats.The other thing is they need to provide different payment options unfortunately they just deal in cash.

I have been its customer since a year, I like the people and the way they cut the hair. But they should update their business hours. When I reached at 9.10 am, they werent still open. And it happened twice. You just get 3 stars for not being on time.
