Excellent job, excellent help once arriving & this old lady couldnt fit items in her car.. so polite & helpful. This has been my 2nd purchase in the last couple months. Both times I have been so pleased. Ive been going to auctions for 40yrs. Internet & pandemic havent been a problem for me.What a nice group of people there!

I’ve been buying from Lewis & Maese for atleast 20 years and have always had a good experience. They are flexible about pick up,and our relationship is based on stellarcustomer service. Their people can loadan amazing number of items in your vehicle,obviating the need for multiple trips. Lewis & Maese has treasures that are irresistible, and I’ve gotten some for nickels on the dollar. This auction house gets some of the most famous estates with incredible furnishings and soft goods. I highly recommend Lewis & Maese.

Do not use this place to Sell your stuff they will sell anything thats good to there Friends at a low price or they will just flat out steal it and tell you they lost it!THIEVES!

Should have called police.Called to schedule an appointment to look at my items for consignment. They put me at 10am Saturday morning. I drove 40 minutes to get there. They looked at my items and showed some interest in some snuff bottles but not others. The items were put all over the desk. The lid from one of my teapot from 19th century dropped to the ground and completely broken into pieces. I was shocked and didn’t know what to say.Before I can say anything, he accused me of not coming in normal business hours that is why they have to do it so rush.Come on! They picked the time, not me!The guy immediately wanted me to leave. He quickly packed my stuff and asked me to leave immediately. He said he has no time for this. Almost threw me out there.Throughout the whole process, I was nice, polite and calm. Even after the incident of breaking tea pot lid, I was calm without saying any harsh words or accusing any one .But he almost kicked me out there. Like I was a person with leprosy. No apologies no good bye, no nothing. Unbelievably irresponsible, rude and disrespectful! This entire experience is like a nightmare.I should have called the police. Things happened so fast and I didn’t have no time to think and respond.

They carry amazing items: high quality. The people are friendly and extremely helpful. Very knowledgeable about the items! A fun and rewarding experience.

No recommendation. How they handle pieces and furniture is embarrassingly terrible. Even a good piece that goes through this auction house should get a mark down because of the damages that the item incurs through Lewis & Maese.

I would give zero but i can not - absolutely unprofessional, my bids were not accepted in favour of a floor bidder, tried to ring and was simply brushed aside, the chap hung up on me - seriously is this the behaviour of staff/ owners -I registered over aweek ago and teh bidding history shows you clearly saw my submission but did not accepted it. i have reported you to the various governing bodies. becasue of your actions i was not even notified of being outbid or i lost. Not happy at all - i see n ow others have also seen the unethical side of this business, pays to read the reviews first.

David Lewis runs a top notch auction house. The prices are great and the quality is high end to low end which offers opportunity to a wide spectrum of interests.The fees are in line or lower than market and those who complain are obviously not familiar with how auction houses work here or abroad.

Won a wood carved African mask emailed and called spoke to Kay to confirm it was infact wood and hand carved, she looked said yes it is wood. I paid had ups pick up and ship at 90 bucks. I got the mask as soon as I unwrapped it I could easily see it is molded faux wood not as described. I emailed twice no response I called spoke to Kay she was suprised and said she would speak to the owner ...never heard back $380 plus shipping on a fake piece. I accidentally had an absentee bid on another lot a few weeks later I also won listed as 9 metal it s I got those 4 of the 9 pieces were ceramic not metal.Do not trust the listing description.

Purchased two pieces of art. They were very polite but after being paid they were no help. I never received the items from their referred shipper. The auction house was zero help. They took the money and disappeared.

Extremely unprofessional and rude. Called to ask what happened to a lot that I won via live auctioneers, which they reopened after I won it (!) and which then went to somebody else for $1 more. They had no idea, they didnt even want to look at the bid history, they werent concerned in the slightest and told me move on, it went to somebody else.

Beware. They are selling Andy Warhols and Keith Harings with - to my opinion - a very questionable background. First, the Certificates of Auth. are from a company with a horrible reputation (google their address in Europe). Then, the signatures dont even look like Warhols late work. Ten to twenty of those items per auction, at low prices? My online questions to L-M remained unanswered...They do have some nice furniture every now and then.

So I bougth the item with 100$. They got buyers premium from me 19$ and from the original seller 50% =50$... I resale it again with them for 250$,they got the premium 100$ from me and 50$ from the buyer. So they made a total of 220$ on something that they did not even owned, the original owner made pennies(50$) and I made also pennies (25$). Sounds more like a scam than a legitimate business. And I have to wait 3 months for my money lol. SELLER PREMIUM 50%
