Lake Cyrus resident. Never answer the phone. Packages say delivered and they aren’t delivered till next day. Packages status change to held at post office at request of customer, when this was never requested. Oh I noticed On my ring camera that the trash can was left by the city right by the mailbox so instead of a driver who is delivering mail getting out of the truck she set my mail as pick up at post office. Whoever delivered the mail at lake cyrus 9/27/2021. Talk about laziness. I wish I can call the 800 number and report this but they don’t ever answer the phone either.Next day came in to check status of my packages. RUDE!
On many occasions our postman replied to Amazon that there was a problem delivering an item. Most recently I went to the branch and they tell me that he should have delivered my item and they dont know why he didnt. Of course they are the only delivering service from whom I have this problem. Government like cats dont bark are not efficient. They should not be in this business because they have not incentive to do well. This should be handled by the free market suppliers only. I have asked Amazon not to use USPS for my deliveries.Very frustrating!
Dear Station Manager. I send 4-6 packages a year for 6 years to a Farley Terrace 35226 address. I am complaining because my 2 day Priority, which always 4 days, comes with a tracker as you know. Why 3/4s of the time does the scanning STOP at The Hoover, AL 35244 USPS? Sometimes I get out for delivery which never has a Delivered, sometimes I get Delivered with no out for delivery. MOST times I get a Delivered at 7pm when I get a call from the recipient that they received it hours ago. Years this has been going on. Perhaps you need to retrain or hire better people. Today, 5/28/21 is another day. I send food. I will be sending another couple of packages in June. Please speak with your staff. Its like they have never have sent a package or they would know about the frustration I feel.
Substitute mail woman just threw our package off the back of the mail truck into the street then hit it with her mail truck as she backed up. Needless to say our item is busted. Really?
They never answer their phones at this local post office. I have have to go in to check on the status of package that are literally lost at this specific post office despite being scanned as out for delivery. I was told i was going to get a call about this package. still have not received it
Never answers the phone!!! My out going Mail has not been picked up in weeks!!Edit: after finally catching the mail guy and asking him to empty the out going mail box he has stopped delivering any packages. They all get marked as delivered but they never show up. I have to go to all the way to the post office on my lunch break to get them. The carrier for my route needs to be fired! Besides, isnt it illegal to tamper with someones mail?!

They are constantly delivering my packages to the wrong address, also come at different times, mess up my mail… no one answers the phone at the office either forcing you to make a drive into their office… just all around terrible, not one good thing to say

Mail service is terrible. Our mail is sometimes delivered and sometimes 2 days will go by with no delivery. We currently are missing important mail with two tax documents undelivered.
Concerning!The post office in Hoover was not that crowded! The staff there seem to be busy, When I entered the building I didnt witnessed any sanitizing are hand wipes thats needed for disinfecting due to the Coronavirus!! There was NO offer to handout face masks freely or given to each customer that was entering the building. I found that very alarming an unprofessional.

They dont pick up the mail more than 1/2 the time and deliver the mail slower than a snail can cross the road. Pitiful way to run a service business.
WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!!!! AVOID! I had 3 packages that this post office refused to deliver because they were too heavy for my mail carrier. She didnt want to do her job. The weight limit is 70 lbs per package. Each of my packages weighed less than 50 lbs each (50lb, 40lb and 30lb). I was told they would not be delivered and I could come to the facility and pick them up. Really? I can leave my job and do hers. Is she going to do mine? So, she gets paid to not do her job and everyone is just ok with that. Not surprising for this facility. I had to wait until Saturday (when not working) to go pick these up and had words with a representative there who basically told me I could complain to anyone I wanted- it didnt matter, nothing would be done about it. They have zero responsibility and zero accountability.
They NEVER answer the phones so you have to go there if you have any questions. Staff is slow and doesnt care about the issues. Manager doesnt care about them not answering phone or any other complaint filed evidently because nothing ever gets fixed. Clearly customer service is poor as you can read all these reviews. Also, packages delivered but are no where to be found.

The woman who works here is HORRIBLE. Everyone who comes here has the same issue, she is rude, lazy and does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING helpful if needed. She doesnt wear her nametag for a reason!! If you see those glasses and a wig, you can expect the worst treatment youve ever had at a post office. Its very sad nobody in charge has removed her from her position. Look at the score here! And she still has a job!!
If I could give them zero stars, I would. The lady there is rude and lazy, they greet you with an attitude and dismiss you with one too. I sent a letter and paid for a stamp and she gave the letter back to me when I had told her I wanted to send it. Once I had reminded her, she put it out to a side and buffed. I hate going to this location but it is the closest one in my city. I guess I’ll have to travel to a different city to send mail now. Not everyone of their workers are like this but if I knew her name I would expose her on this review. I can’t believe I had to go the extra mile and write a review about it.

I try not to go there too much never enough clerks to help and they can be rude at times. The carrier for my area didnt deliver a package l was due because she said that my address did not exist. I found this out because of the information from where the order was made. Then on yesterday my packages. Were left at my neighbors door. The LABELS clearly stated my name and address. Are these lazy or just dont CARE CARRIERS?
Thank God they dont deliver my mail judging by the majority of reviewers. I dont like this place, it is by far the worst Post Office I have ever been to, and l have lived in 4 different cities, so maybe 10 post office. The worst thing is there is a lady here who is very unfriendly, even hostile. I would much sooner drive a few extra miles and get better service ..as I will do again today.
After waiting 10 days for my package that my tracking number said is on their facility and went to the office to see where is it, a supervisor just tell me is lost and there is nothing to do about it.And they don’t gave you a proof to show to your seller?Be careful and be aware if your order nice things. This office is stealing your belongings that came from other country cause they don’t return to them.They just say “your package is lost because there is no address to delivery”. So How can they explain me why arrived to Birmingham from Hong Kong?

I HATE going to the post office and have always been intimidated by it. When I started a business, I was forced to go. The associates at this location are soooo helpful and knowledgeable. Each time I go, they help me figure out the best shipping options, and they are always friendly. This is helpful for someone who is slowly becoming more comfortable with the process.

Boxes youre better off buying from the UPS store in Bessemer than going anywhere near this place. Iam have been trying to get a hold if an agent at this facility for over an hour and all I want to do is talk to an agent about a package that has not been delivered that was a priority mail and customer has not received. I dropped a package off on Friday morning at 9:05 am at Hoover Mail Center, I was aasured package would be picked up that morning at 10:30 am from the postal carrier. The package didnt start tracking until the following week and has still not been delivered to customer. This is absolutely ridiculous.
I have always loved going to our Hoover Post Office. The personel are polite and eager to help and my fellow Hoover residents are friendly and courteous as well!
Clerk told me her supervisor informed her my package was delivered to wrong address, missed a call from post office next day. Call back and speak to the “manager” who then informs me he doesn’t know how to handle this situation.He and his supervisor insisted that the package was delivered but they just couldn’t understand the package they were talking about was completely different from the package in question.So now The package is lost and I have to rely on a “manager” that doesn’t seem competent enough to get the job done. Ridiculous.
I use this office all the time...have found employees super helpful, work quickly to handle my packages and get me in and out. Apparently, Im not going where other complainers are. Even when there are lines, the employees work very fast to get us in and out quickly. Far better than Irving, Texas where it took 30 minutes waiting in line as the norm! At Hoover, maximum Ive waited is about 5 minutes!
It took over a month just to get my mailbox rekeyed. No one answers the phone and I had to make multiple visits to get it done. The mail carriers are so far the only saving grace of this place and the only reason I didnt rate this as 1 star. I wish I didnt have to use them.
Deliveries are never on time. My packages have been delivered to the wrong address many times. They mark them delivered and then I will receive DAYS later. Awful customer service and no one ever answers the phone.

Amazing service if youre shipping, they get it done quick and painlessly. Ive shipped out multiple packages from there and they always arrive on time and safely.Pray to god you never have to sort out one of the packages they regularly misdeliver to hoover residents, though. When i first moved to Hoover they misdelivered or failed to deliver packages for me every time I ordered something for 4 months(a total of 8 packages). Every time they reported it as failed to deliver I had to go to the post office in person and request that they hold it for the next route so i could pick it up in person, as it would never actually get delivered if I didnt. There was a package that was shipped from there that went out with the delivery woman every single day for a week, and every day she forgot to deliver it to my door. The one time I actually caught her on her route(3 days late), she acted like it was a huge inconvenience to give me my package that she had intentionally forgotten to deliver. The office has very little patience to help with this, and if you dont insist on them sorting it out that day they will tell you to come back the next day, without writing anything down. DONT, they will just put you through the same process the next day.Personally I think its just the delivery drivers who are terrible and the workers have to deal with their failure constantly.

Not the worst USPS service here, but still not good. Mail carriers out of this location arent great either. Too lazy to walk to the porch so they stuff it into your mailbox and end up breaking the lid or pushing it out the backside (and leaving whatever falls out). Theres a reason we dont willingly use USPS.
I am writing to the Inspector General. The drivers for certified mail drove past the house and never came to the door. Now theyre not redelivering mail. The tracking is no longer working. The Hoover post office, where the package allegedly is, refuses to answer the phone. The staff is hostile. This is shameful. No other city in the US is like this.
Both of my visits have been cringe worthy. Minimal customer service. I gave an additional star due to one of the employees being extraordinary. He was friendly and helpful. He is only redeeming quality.

Ill never use this post office again! Did a return last Thursday and here it is a week later, no tracking, no nothing! Then when I called too speak with someone Frances tells me that just cause it says expected doesnt means itll be there in 2 days ..well nall Frances bc if i paid 18.00 too return 1 item it needs too be there at least 3 days max ! Granted she just works at the post office not the actual delivery but she still needs too have some type of professionalism and more concern of things ..now i have too file claim ....dam shame you cant even go too the post office without some bull!

No, most visits take 20 -30 minutes. I️ don’t find them to be rude but instead rather unfriendly. There is always a long line and it seems as though they only have 2 people working and they are usually operating in slow motion. No sense of urgency. I️ don’t ever expect a government run agency to be anything more than barely adequate. Have low expectations and then maybe you will be pleasantly surprised if you are out of there in less than 15 and someone from behind the counter gives a smile!!
I routinely use this post office to ship packages. The folks Ive dealt with over the last two years are polite, precise, and when I have a question quite helpful.
While this post office facility is convenient for me, I have to agree with other reviewers that some of the employees tend to be methodically slow servicing the customers who are all standing patiently in line. Additionally, I recently visited this office to apply for a passport. The lady behind the counter was very unfriendly and curt. She offered no important information such as were keeping your original birth certificate which will be mailed back to you in a few weeks by the US Government. Also, dont try to call this office. Ive called several times a day for several days and no one has ever answered the phone. Im very disappointed with this office.

I’ve had to deal with them once a week for the past 2 months because mail isn’t delivered. They are very rude as mentioned from others. Won’t help me at all. Also tried the supervisor number and it just rings and rings. Is there a way to change post office’s without moving? 🙄
I send a certified letter on February 20th, nothing was delivered, online I cant track it, on the phone waited 40 minutes on the USPS 800 number and decided to give up. USPS should go out of business.
The mail carriers are lazy. Id been waiting on package for 3 weeks to find out it was placed on hold at the post office per my request. Ive had issues with the carriers saying my package couldnt be delivered due to nobody home. I work from home so Im here literally all day.
Way too long of lines without any sense of urgency. But at least they are very competent when you get help. And its clean.

It is impossible to get anyone on the phone. The number they provide isn’t to the direct post office rather than the USPS. Which is STUPID. Unless you want to go cross-eyed with anger don’t waste your time with this idiot place. If you do call the number just scream in frustration and it will connect you with someone only for you to have a wait time of over an hour. I need to go repent after trying to deal with this hell hole.
Whoever answers the phone automatically is very rude, but the gentleman that helps with finding lost mail is very nice and understanding.

I moved from South FL to AL 5 years ago. South FL is known for rudeness so it was refreshing to live in the deep South, where friendliness and hospitality are abound. I have never experienced anything like my hometown rudeness until entering the Riverchase Post Office. Not only was the clerk short with me, and rude when I politely asked her a simple question, but the clerk next to her made a joke about me. They then both laughed. My question: Had they emptied the drop box yet. I avoid this post office at all costs when possible. I am sure they are frustrated with how busy they are, but a kind word would diffuse the grumpy customers (waiting in extremely long lines) much better than attitudes and mocking.

Was just there earlier this week to send off 2 packages. The people were friendly and the line didnt take long at all. Both packages got delivered on time. :)
Worst ever. The line is out the door. Although there are 4 people working, 2 of them just keep yelling are there any pick ups or drop offs - there arent...AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, 2 people are killing themselves, we are waiting like we are trying to get through a customs checkpoint, and 2 people are just looking at us and doing absolutely nothing.

Ive found many of the employees here to be extremely rude on a regular basis. Standing behind dozens of people in line has often given me plenty of time to observe their deliberately slow pace. After my last visit, I decided to start using other post offices. Horrible experience and worth avoiding if at all possible.

There are friendly post offices and there are non-friendly post offices. This post office falls into the non-friendly category. It reminds me of post offices in the past where an employee would come in with a loaded gun.
