This was our first experience with a tutor and Rob was always very well prepared for our sessions. He was very patient and explained very well. Rob has been phenomenal. He is a great teacher, is patient and has a knack of making complex concepts understandable. My daughter and I went in to see Robert for tutoring sessions to help prepare her for SAT testing. We booked 2hour sessions for a month before testing.Roberts office is clean, simple and straightforward. I sat down on the sofa with my book and read for the duration of the appointment.The first session consisted mainly of math assessments to figure where my daughter stood,and what areas she needed assistance with.The following week he really got down to work! His explanations were very clear and concise, and he demonstrated great patience. I felt comfortable that she was making progress, and she was relieved to finally understand the concepts that she struggled with in school. He then constructed a practice test for her to work on, then graded it and explained the problems she had difficulty with.Her SAT composite score went from 1010 to 1230!She took the SAT three times total. The main upward trend was in her math portion. Theres no doubt in my mind that her scores wouldve increased further if she tutored with Robert and retook the test again. The numbers dont lie!Yes, a good tutor is an investment. It costs money and Roberts services dont come cheap. But for my daughter and I, it was worth every penny, and I would book him again in a heartbeat. I went to Robert for math tutoring in November for the ASVAB, the first month working with Robert was ok. After that I could tell he would get frustrated with me when I wasnt able to figure out the math concepts fast enough, when Ive paid him in full 2,500 dollars. He couldnt even control his anger and frustration with someone who has paid him for his services. As more time went on he would openly complain and share his frustration with me about his paying customers, how they werent very smart or how they wouldnt do their homework, etc. I started to regret paying him money while he was trying to belittle me when I couldnt figure out his math concepts. Very unprofessional, why would anyone want to be put in that position when youve paid so much money?? I feel sorry for the kids that go in there without parental supervision because they dont know any better. He would also talk negatively about people who wouldnt leave him a review, that they would take a long time to leave a review etc. Reviews should be written only when someone actually wants to leave one not being told to leave one! So about two months in or so my plans for the military didnt work out like I wanted them to, so I asked if he could return only 300 dollars that was remaining from my sessions instead of me going in and finishing them. He took the night to consider it and told me he wouldnt be able to do so, I continued to try and talk him but then he started to ignore my texts. Im sure everyone can relate on how frustrating and unprofessional that is. He finally responded to me with a text that Ive posted on here. Which he also threatened me not to text anymore or hed consider it harassment, I sent no more than 5 texts talking about a return when hes already made 2,200 off me. He just didnt want to deal with me any longer, he already had my money paid in full so he didnt care what i had to say. I am an Army pilot and officer stationed on Wheeler AAF. Last year I was selected to attend the United States Naval Test Pilot school (Alums include John Glenn and Alan Shepard) in Maryland. The test pilot school is proud of its heritage in sound, exceedingly complex mathematics. Needless to say, I didnt know where to turn in order to prepare for what will likely be the most challenging endeavor of my life.
