I was incredibly overwhelmed with the thought of filing taxes for 2019 as I made some big career changes and financial decisions last year and did not know where to start. I found Manoa Tax Service by accident when I visited Eaton Square,normally way off my range, on another errand. What a pleasure to finda neighborhood store front tax prep office, manned by the friendliest,most low key accountant you will ever meet, Mr Tony Silvas. I wasdreading going back to H&R Block, which I had done in the previous 2years, since my long-time accountant retired. Block does good work,but it is absurdly expensive for a Manini like me, providing your returnin a nice jacket with reams of extraneous paper. Tonys work is quick,clean, and fast … and, you get what you pay for, no frills. Tony Silvaand Manoa Tax Service have my best recommendation.

Tony is the best, no doubt whatsoever. Ive been with tons of tax-advisors in my 25 years in Hawaii as a UH ICS prof, but no one was close to Tony in his diligence, attention to detail, and promptness. When he was first highly recommended by his superior at UH Credit Union, I threw my last 3 years of bills at him. He must have spent hours on IRS web site - just reading his mails asking me weird questions about my working abroad took me ages, so he must have charged just pennies on the hour. But it paid of (at least for me:). Imagine, he was able to deduct my entire salary for one of the years. Too bad I didnt make a copy of the check I got from IRS. (A 5 digit figure...) Now when we founded parWinr, Inc. with my wife, Tony became, of course, our business accountant and financial advisor. Again, without his advice, wed probably be already bankrupt.
