Theyve been running me in circles for 5 weeks. Still dont get through. Still havent been contacted. Still calling 50 times a day. Cant set up an appointment for a zoom call even though one lady said they are making calls to people who make an appointment. One lady told me to get a second job. Very unimpressed with how they deal with people. We know they dont have answers because they are getting assistance from mainland yet dont want to say so in fear of damaging their reputation for being run state by state.
The lady at the front was so rude to me, also they never pick up their phones!!!! no wonder people struggle so much in Hawaii! no one helps or cares
First time collecting unemployment. The process is a bit tedious, but keep in mind it is to ensure that people who just don’t want to work are not taking advantage. There is a VIDEO TUTORIAL on how to file your claim which goes in to great detail and walks you right through. Only part I was a bit confused about was posting my resume on HireNet. You have to be sure to go through the entire resume building flow and you’ll get a confirmation email when it’s successfully posted. If you don’t get that email, you didn’t complete all the steps for posting. There is a state worker that so graciously calls to check in every week to confirm the next deadlines to submit my claims (which she doesn’t have to do). So far so good! Much appreciated! 🤙
Its terrible I called many times everyday but always automatic response. Im getting tired calling them but I need their help to fix my mistake about Deactivated my claims.
I was unemployed from May to the beginning of August. I had received my pay for the first month in a lump sum but after that I have not heard a single thing back, no pay, no emails, no calls. I have went 10+ weeks without seeing a cent. Yet when I finally started working for a new company the unemployment took 2 days to disqualify me for the week that I had started working.
This review pertains to the whole unemployment process here but mostly to who is in charge of the claim examiners. They are very bad. They do not explain the process properly and you get different answers from several different people.For someone going through this not so happy of a process to begin with, they make it very hard and uncomfortable. They act like they are here to help you but it really feels like its the opposite. I have alot more to say but i will wait to see if i get a response back from a supervisor who can actually make a decision and not have to keep passing you off to someone else. Who ever is in charge of the claim examiners please contact me. Once my claim is fixed or handled propely I may delete this review.
If I could put half a star that would be my rating they will never answer there phones way to slow on helping assisting people and when its lunch time they all leave really quick smh😠👎
Cant leave a zero star so they get 1. Worst customer service ever! Good luck is all I have to say... I had one person help me... only to get another to mess up all my claims.... been 2 months dealing with these idiots and I still havent received 1$..... I have been cooperative with all their requests and nothing happens... oh and that 2 numbers provided... what a joke, takes 100 phones to get a hold of someone..

They never answer the phone and they are extremely slow. Very disappointed overall.
My experience with the unemployment office is highly corrupt. There all crooks, right when you complete something they come up with something else, then when thats done another obstacle gets thrown at you. Then a hearing is scheduled (so they say) and that takes another month. They are two face, back stabbing, hungry crooks feeding off loop holes in the system. they dont care about anyone, how we eat, if theres a roof over are head, selfish lazy low lifes. Its time to fire all of them and put a new staff of caring individuals that will help the unfortunate. you pigs
Unhelpful wanna be agents taking it upon themselves to rid the system of crooks and bandits as if they are the Batman of unemployment. Stop giving me problems and help. This is exactly why the government fails and its all due to lazy people running it. This office is of no use nor help to anyone. Dealing with the over scrupulous and irate workers is is worse than just working, which I assume is what this whole system is going for.
If i could give them less than one star i would. Where do I start... First off they will never answer the phone even when they tell you to call, even if you call 50+ times a day, and you cant leave a voicemail. If they do answer they will never pick up that phone number again you must call from different number every time because the people in the office dont want to help you with anything what so ever when theres an ongoing issue. They will lead you in circles and repeat non helpful information over and over just so they don have to do anything at all and can sit there doing nothing all day. If a problem occurs with your claim and you dont get paid they will never contact you to tell you what needs to be done to fix the issue, its clear that they just want people give up by ignoring them for month and months and months. Hawaii Unemployment offers the absolute worst customer service I have ever witnessed. One of the ladys from the Kauai office had the audacity to comment on my personal life (No i have never met this woman) and pretty much imply that i dont need unemployment and that its not a lot of money and its gonna run out anyway, its like she was angry that I was claiming unemployment. I think thats the big issue and why most people have a negative review about them, its that the people in the office seem angry that you are claiming and being honest about your situation so they just resort to not responding to you, unless you call from different numbers that they dont know its you until they pick up. Its really sad how they handle stuff in that office, makes me sick to see how humans treat other for no reason what so ever.

The follow up time is horrible and by the time you finally talk to a claims person its been a month. My claims person Mrs. Dumo was very disrespectful and wasnt even on the same island. Im a disabled veteran do to service connected trauma while in my 10th year on active duty. I have bilateral hearing loss greater then 75% and have learned to read lips. She began getting up set with me because I kept saying what and I likely didnt answer her questions correctly because I received multiple denial notices to which by the time I got the letters on Friday and Saturday and have today, Monday, to figure it all out do they expect us to find a job or deal with there BS.
No one answers the phones. I have been calling for over a week and have gotten nowhere. I tried calling the hilo unemployment office and they answer their phones. Hilo office will answer few questions you have but will redirect you to this location.
The Examiner will call if they have a problems with your infomation, this is where they can denie your unemployment, Make sure all information is to the letter, best of your knowledge is a no-no.
