I found a psychologist I was interested in via Psychology Today. I called and left a message expressing interest in that particular therapist. I received a phone call back asking me to call or text them back. I texted. The next thing I know I am receiving invitations from a different therapist asking me to fill out information before our first visit. He’s an MSW, not a psychologist. I also have an MSW and had been specifically looking for a psychologist.Honolulu Psych Collective just ignores my initial request for a specific therapist. They never asked me any questions as to what kind of therapist I was looking for. Didn’t ask me if I prefer certain qualification, methodology, methodology, male/female, type of therapy ... nothing. When I asked who the guy was emailing me for information, they said:“He is the therapist. Were you looking to see someone else?”He is the therapist? Not the one I asked for and most definitely not one that was discussed with me.I responded, again, with the name of the therapist I was interested in. They responded:“My apologies, Dr —— does not have any openings for new clients until January.”Nothing else. No inquiry to see what kind of therapist might work for me. Nothing. My experience was very confusing, unprofessional and, obviously, unfruitful.
Dr. Coffee, Tepa Yarbrough, and Dr. Walter are all fabulous therapists. Also their office staff is really nice and friendly too. Really love Dr. Coffees mother who works there part time. Highly recommend this practice!!
