Very easy transaction! Best to make a reservation if you are trying to buy Japanese yen because you will get the reservation rate (discount). If your transaction is more than $1,000.00 US you need to bring passport or provide Social Security Number. I brought my passport. Due to the pandemic they have reduced hours so best to call ahead.

I would give 5 stars but pretty much zero parking. I have managed to reverse in a narrow driveway next to building or just park in red zone. I have always ordered ahead and transactions are quick. They had the best exchange prices and were pretty quick to have Yen available for my trips. The ladies are alway pleasant and professional.

Very easy to find and it’s a fast transaction. It’s recommended to make a reservation and bring your passport if you are exchanging $1000 usd or more. I showed my Hawaii driver’s license and got a slightly better rate, so make sure to show yours. There is not parking, so it’s best to bring a friend who can drop you off. The exchange took just a few minutes. She explained the current exchange rates, counted my money and then counted back the yen with a receipt. I highly recommend coming here as opposed to the airport or a bank.

Went to exchange currency and it was such a pleasant experience. Made a reservation the night before, recommended so they have the amount you want ready. Had to show drivers license plus passport card, (or passport). There are no fee for the exchange and they give you the rate of the day you make reservations. Parking can be in issue, if you cant find street parking, there was a parking lot on Seaside Ave. that was offering $2.50 for the first 1/2 hour.

Best to make a resevation. When i got there, I saw a sign that said reservations required for dollars to yen. But I stood in line anyway to see what I may be able to get. The lady who helped me was very nice. She said normally you need a reservation. Then she asked how much I wanted to get. I told her. She checked her register. Then said she would be able to help me. Guess I just came by at the right time as the person in front of me had exchanged yen for dollars. As I left, she gave me her card so I can make reservations next time.

Great service and exchange rate for US dollars to Yen. It’s best to call ahead of time and make an appointment so they’ll have your currency ready.

RESERVATIONS required for dollar to yen exchange. Just tried to get my money exchanged and didnt have a reservation. I wasnt aware that one was needed for a walk-up counter place. However, worker was kind enough to key us know about the DFS currency counter right next door in the duty free shopping center where I was provided with excellent service, great rates and no fees! So glad things didnt work out at PME! Lol

Terrible customer service, and very strange and confusing business model. Yesterday I stood in line behind 4 customers who exchanged yen for dollars. When I got to the window and showed my HI state ID (to get the posted kamaaina discount) and asked to exchange dollars for yen I was curtly told that they were out of yen, and that I needed to make an appointment. When I pointed out that the previous customers had just exchanged yen for dollars, the teller rudely interrupted me, waived a piece of paper with some scribbles in my face, and told me that maybe I should come back on Sunday when it was likely they would have extra yen to exchange me. I know many people who have exchanged money here no problem and WITHOUT an appointment. Bottom line, there are plenty other places to exchange currency on-island and I suggest going elsewhere.

I exchanged dollar to yen. They give the best Kamaaina rate! Show Hawaii state ID. Google said the exhange rate was 112.38 yen per dollar and I got 112 with no fees. Need an appointment for any exhange over $1,000. Id recommend going with someone else to get dropped off. Theres no parking. Also, if they run out of yen, just stick around till more people exhange yen for dollars.

Fast, efficient, answered the phone politely, and spoke clear and understandable English! Todays Kamaaina rate was a little less than DFS, but it was worth it for their service. I wish theyd exchange more than Yen; then, Id go to them for all my exchanges!Make sure to call ahead about a limit. Some days they have one, some days they dont; however, the person who answered the phone made sure to tell me about this. It isnt a secret, like DFSs parking lot and validation info. Also, they do not have coins, so they will give you the option to round up and pay in the difference in dollars and cents, or go to the rounded down amount and give you change in dollars and cents.I just wish they had parking! Thats the only reason I subtracted a star.

The rate was only very slightly lower than the one youd find on google and there was no commission. With such great location and friendly service, this was a great place to exchange my yen!

Michelle was very helpful today, and although she did not offer the particular service I was looking for, she was still happy to stay on the phone long enough to recommend another solution that worked for me. Thanks Michelle!

The rate is cheaper than other stores, and I told you that I would like to exchange $ 100 bills for small bills. He was kind.Uncle at night will only give you paper bills and will not give you coins (if you give a fraction, you can get a dollar bill ...), but in the morning you can exchange it for $ 1 To encourage you to make a small change.

Since it is completely visible from the street, it has been replaced only for chips of 10 million or 2 mm.I think it was written as a fee-free, but I think the rate is just bad.In every country, its not a bank, its dangerous, but ...The store is pasted and seems to be a little better than the airport exchange, but it is tens of thousands, so if the airport exchange office is vacant, that may be fine.I havent written the exchange rate, but Im changing this for a tip at this exchange shop.
