Not worth the money. Although they bill it as a three hour excursion, it only took an hour and a half total. The time actually spent going downhill is very short, maybe half an hour at quite a slow pace. Mostly youre driving uphill, stopping at an overlook, waiting for them to load and unload. They were very nice, but youd be better off just renting a bike and going up and down Tantalus drive yourself.

My boyfriend and I did the hike to Koo’lau Waterfall with our guide Terri yesterday, and we had an awesome time!!! Not only did we get to go on a beautiful hike immersed in nature to a stunning waterfall, but we also got to learn so much about Hawaii from Terri in the process. On the drive on our way to and from the hike and also during the hike, Terri taught us all about the culture, history, economy, plants, and animals in Hawaii. He knew everything about everything related to Hawaii, haha! He answered all our questions. On the hike, Terri also identified every type of bird, plant or tree we asked about and taught us lots of interesting facts about the native (and not so native) wildlife as well. He also took such amazing photos of my boyfriend and I in front of the stunning landscape, and during the hike he often offered to take pics of us as well. I’ve needed some great photos to frame of my boyfriend and I, and now I have tons to choose from! The hike was the perfect length and about moderate level. The waterfall at the end was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for the amazing hike!!

TL;DR skip the bike ride.Ultimately would not recommend. My wife and I did the hike/bike/catamaran trip with Bike Hawaii. The highlight of the day was our hike with Daniel. He was an excellent guide and showed TONS of flora/fauna along the way. He has lots of knowledge about the island and shows a real passion for his job. Unfortunately it was all downhill after the hike. We had to drive all the way back to Waikiki to pick up more customers at 3 different hotels and then drive back up to elevation for the bike ride. The company was pretty unorganized and required an employee to literally Uber up the mountain to meet us... Did a lot of sitting around waiting. The ride down the hill was less than thrilling. Slow, down a busy road requiring lots of stops. A couple of scenic pull-offs but otherwise youre in a completely covered canopy. Ride probably lasted a total of 40 min. Due to the delays we nearly missed our catamaran (managed by a completely different company btw). The owner had to pick us up immediately at the end of the ride and hurry us to the boat about 30 seconds before it set sail. There we met an audibly impatient captain and 20 other tourists giving us the side-eye for our tardiness. The snorkeling was fun, saw lots of seaturtles and the crew was fun/informative.

Daniel collected us right on time and explained the ride to us. The electric bike was easy to ride and required little effort to climb the mountain. The traffic was very light and the road therefore super safe. I turned down the electricity a bit for the gentler climbs just for the workout!! My wife refused!! Great views and a pleasure riding through the intermittent tropical drizzle. Daniel was all about making it fun and took some great photos of us throughout the ride. Lots of fun. Thanks.

John was very accommodating and created the highlight of my trip. Breathtaking views from the top of Kamehame Ridge only accessible through this company. I would highly recommend it.

My family did the Rainforest to Reef package. Very easy downhill bicycle ride, short hike to a waterfall in the middle of the rainforest, and a boat ride out to snorkel with the sea turtles. Our tour guide Elon was very knowledgeable and informative, let us stop several times during each activity for picture opportunities, and was able to answer all of our questions. He also checked to make sure everyone was comfortable, doing ok, and never rushed us. Although we did tons of fun activities, my favorite part was the gorgeous mountain range view we had during lunch. Such a beautiful natural area. Additionally, we were picked up and dropped back off at our hotel which is convenient if you don’t have a rental car. Would definitely consider going again if we make it back to Hawaii.

Our group of 7 family members, ranging in age from 26 to 69 did the Rainforest to Reef excursion (hike, bike, snorkel). It was a great experience. Our guide, Elon was a lifelong Hawai’i resident, knowledgeable about flora, shared interesting information during each segment. Not all of our group were physically able to participate in all segments and Bike Hawai’i were able to accommodate their needs. The only complaint was the amount of driving between segments; however, they had to choose an alternative hike due to recent rains, our experience may not have been the norm. Highly recommended.

UNPROFESSIONAL, SCAM, DO NOT TRUST.This is the most difficult review I have ever had to write. We were drawn to this company by their tour description on Viator. Bike Hawaii sounded like a good idea - but we spent more time trying to connect on the phone with them then actually enjoying any tour. A very bad experience never to be recommended or repeated. Avoid this second rate tour company at all costs.

Couldnt recommend Bike Hawaii more! The guides were fantastic, Terii and Keala were incredibly knowledgeable and made sure everyone had a great day. Would definitely recomened the hiking and kayaking tour.

I have done many tours with this company! The staff is extremely knowledgeable about Hawaiian plants and animals. They are ready to answer any and every question you have! This company also offers so many exclusive tours that you cant get anywhere else! Like the Kamehame ridge! Or mountain biking through Kualoa ranch! They also do kayak trips out to China Mans hat also known as Mokolii. Even as a local it is amazing learn more about where I live! I recommend this company to all my friends and family visiting Hawaii!
