Small shop, BIG hearts 💕. A friend recommended this place. I came for a simple safety inspection. Just my luck my car happen to get a flat on my way there. I pulled in and asked of they did tires as well. The gentleman quickly assisted me and gave me options for my tire needs. He was quick, efficient, knowledgeable and kind. While waiting for my car another gentleman at the shop offered me a cold beverage while simultaneously attending to all the other customers who needed safety inspection. They made me feel taken care of.

First come first serve. They do very good job. I like to come here for safety inspection. The staffs are very good.

These are super nice guys who gladly give good helpful information regarding safety checks and car registration. There can be a line of cars waiting to get a safety check after 9am, so its better to go between 7-9am. The line still moves quickly enough though. Quick, friendly, no hassle. Love it!

Went for my safety inspection. Although there was a line, I was probably in and out in about 10 - 15 minutes. They have two lanes for inspection. While I was there, the car next to me was at risk of failing due to a faulty brake light. It looks like they were able to replace the bulb on the spot. Friendly staff.

These guys may not look like a big outfit from Beretania St., But theyre pit-stop style safety and mechanic services are really professional.Even when I was ignorant of some things wrong with my safety check or process they never made me feel bad and always explained the greater process of safety, registration or how to fix the issues on my beaters to make sure I was actually safe first and foremost and that I would get through the process & that I was safe on the road.They also handle high volumes of people given that they are on a really busy street in the middle of Honolulu.If youve ever lived on Oahu or are a temporary resident, you know that it can get crowded.My personal suggestion to anyone local or living here, who is going to go down there is think like you are going into the NASCAR/F1 pit. Have your Papers ready, Get ready to listen to the directions of the Safety Inspector. Be calm and follow all the instructions.Finally Ive been down here enough myself over the years that Ive seen people wonder if on a busy day they dont know where you are in the safety check line. Dont worry about that either, their staff have some magical ability or system to always make sure the cars are in line and served in order.Mahalo for the service!You guys have always been really good to me!

This is by far the best auto shop I have ever visited. I needed to get my safety inspection but wasnt familiar with the process and I didnt have to be because they made it smooth and stress-free. I wish I had gotten the name of the guy who inspected my car because he was awesome!! I have visited them twice and both times I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.

Required to do safety check the line of cars was closed. I asked the tech and he allowed me to be the last car for the day. Awesome courtesy and understanding, great bunch of guys working here. Charles was so helpful and the prices were very reasonable! I got had to get a service, safety, and an oil pan change done. For that type of service I had to leave my car at their shop over night and he kept in contact with me each step of the way, so I felt confident about leaving my car with them. Had to have my safety done... It did not pass and for good reasons. The guys were professional, explained everything I had to do and after looking at it myself, I agreed. Anybody would complain about not passing safety but I actually think they did what they had to do. I never felt pressured by them and actually enjoyed the relaxed environment. I am fortunate enough to have shipped my car here from the mainland. Ive been here for a few months, but I dont have connections to rely upon for solid automotive references. I opted to defer to Google Reviewers; they were not wrong; this place is excellent! I ended up calling a few times prior to stopping in, to ensure I had the correct paperwork, etc. and was warmly greeted each time.As my husband and I walked into the shop we were immediately welcomed. The gentlemen at the counter explained how the inspection works and the paperwork we needed to have prepared. We were then told to wait outside until Carlin was ready. We waited approximately five minutes for our safety inspection. The inspection itself was freaky fast and thorough. My card was processed on the spot. Carlin then explained the items needed to register the car. Also, in the next 30 days we will need to return so that he can photograph the car with the new plates/ provide him with proof of registration. I absolutely recommended obtaining your safety inspection here!

Nice enough guys but mostly just good for safety checks. Been several times and had very suspect issues that I had to return for IMMEDIATELY. Didn’t get a quarter mile after they did my bearing and hub assembly and my radiator exploded. Pretty suspect but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.. I stopped in today and asked them to check the check engine light and for a quote for whatever work they recommended. I stopped back by to pick up the quote at lunch when they gave me the quote with and a $50~ charge because they said it needed 2 quarts of oil so they went ahead and added it. When I asked the manager Charles about it he was immediately confrontational and told me to beat it. Well enough..

I recently moved to the island to attend grad school at UH. I was lucky enough to bring my car with me from home. I went to McCully because the reviews on Google were very positive and it wasnt far from campus. When I first got there Carlin quickly walked me through the steps for the inspection. He told my boyfriend and I that we first had to remove some of the peeling tint on our windows before passing the inspection. He gave me a razor blade and told me how I could do it myself to save some money. I really appreciated this as I only make a small amount as a TA. Once that was completed, I went back and Carlin noticed there was some water in my tail lights due to many small cracks. He removed them and attempted to get the water out of both so he could pass me. Unfortunately, some of the water wouldnt come out so I had to buy a new tail light assembly. In the meantime he temporarily passed me so I could get my car registered. Once I got the light, I came back and Carlin taught me how I could replace the light myself! He was so helpful, kind, and full of advice. I would definitely recommend coming here for your safety inspection. Both times the wait was very short and Carlin was happy to help us!

Every year, come ehicle safety inspection time, I always go to McCully Union Service. They are quick, courteous, kind, and extremely professional. Even if the line is backed up down Beretania, they keep 2 lanes open and get through each inspection within 10-15 minutes. The wait isnt bad at all, and the prices are the lowest Ive found.

Pulled in for a safety check inquiry, with no appointment..asked me for my paper work, went on the computer to in put, came out checked blinkers, horn, lites, brake lites, jacked my car up checked 4 tires and wheels..minimum time,no lagging,dragging,or waiting..place looked real busy,guess I was lucky..No Drama,no regrets, highly recommend..thankyou for good service..

I visited this little gem of a place this morning to get my inspection done. Fast, friendly, no frills. I waited in line for about 30 minutes, but thats because this place is known for quick and easy inspections, so there were about 7 cars ahead of me. If you do the math, thats 5ish minutes per car. If you can squeeze in that wait time, its worth it I think. No appointment needed.I havent needed car repair recently so I cant speak to that aspect. But they are a machine when it comes to inspections!

Quick and easy safety inspection!

Did my safety inspection here and I wish that I knew of this place earlier. Great service, honest and fast.

Came here before to get safety check for my car and they told me I was about a month and a half early. This saved me some money. Came back to get my check and as usual they were busy. It took about 15 minutes and they had a steady stream of customers coming in at around 10AM. They were efficient and friendly and even knew what to do with my temporary registration instead of the permanent one. They used computer tablets (iPads or android) to check data and take pictures for the check. You see luxury cars, beat up cars and average cars. There are just two bays and an office and the rest looks like what used to be old gas pumps area and parking which is covered by cars either fixed or waiting to be fixed. Dont judge a book by its cover as they are good at completing the safety check and seem very knowledgeable. ASE certified official spection station #366. Dont know about there other repair work but I will be inquiring. Will be back again for my next safety check.

I was having trouble getting my car started and wasn’t sure if it was a problem with the battery or starter. Fortunately the place wasn’t too busy when I arrived and the mechanics examined the battery right away. They were very thorough in explaining the problem in a way that was easy to understand and fixed it without any issues. They are also very friendly and seem to work well together. I would absolutely use their services again!

Couple weeks ago I was referred by one of my friends to this shop. We needed to quickly find a place that could do a walk-in Safety Inspection. Our sticker expired. All the places I called were booked up. We drove to this place and were able to get our car inspected within 15 minutes. We did fail because of the Registration expiring but I finally got it renewed today and came back to get the safety stickers put on. I will definitely be back. Really friendly staff and very quick!

Super NICE group of guys, informed me of the necessary steps required for a car inspection. Noticed the double dollar sign, $$, on their post, yet they charge $20-$25 for this service. Took about 20 minutes for the first visit and 20 for the second visit. Only problem was a car pulled into my spot for service; rather than having this car move, they serviced this guy first. Wasnt a problem though.The guys here at McCully seem to really love what they are doing, pleasant and respectful; this is my place to come to for car inspections and car repairs. They come across both friendly and honest.
