Nice hotel. Very clean, comfortable room. I love their beds, slept like a baby. The only downside for me is no bathtubs in this hotel, showers only. Great staff!
Aloft Hotel - SOHO Birmingham/HomewoodWe evacuated here after Ida. The staff has been the absolute best and extremely accommodating!!! They are friendly and offer help before you have to ask.The lounge is hip, fun and clean. There is even a pool table (free entertainment). Our room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The best part about the hotel is that they are pet friendly! My dog receives attention from the staff too. 10/10
We really like this location. Numerous restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Rooms have two queen beds which is nice. Property is typical Aloft - meaning functional but basic.I just won’t go back there if we have our kids with us. The real problem is the aloft layout w the bathroom. There’s no door to the vanity area. So in the night, you really can’t turn on the light without waking everyone up.The absolute worst thing is the sliding door that goes from the vanity area to the toilet and shower area. It’s a sliding door that has no track on the bottom. So when you close the door, it bangs against the wall. Horribly loud. An awful design. On top of that, there is glass in the shower area. It’s opaque but when you have the light on, it lights up the bedroom area. Again, terrible design. For my wife and I, it’s not great but tolerable. Add another a child and it’s far less than ideal. But again, great location. For one person, great property. For husband and wife, a pretty good property. Beyond that, not so good.
Hallway walls on our floor were scratched and hallway was dark.Sliding door to bathroom in our room was difficult to close and made horrible metal scraping sound when you tried to slide it. Unfortunately, I discovered this in the middle of the night and startled the heck out of my husband. Lighting in the room was dim. No breakfast is being served but you don’t find out until they email you right before your arrival day. Hotel is in a great location and agent at front desk was very nice. There was plenty of garage parking. We picked this hotel because it’s pet friendly and in a good location but would search for other options before staying here again. The Homewood area is wonderful and we wished we could have stayed longer to explore more shops and restaurants.
I had an excellent experience with my stay at Aloft. the room was super clean and very comfortable. Brandon at the front desk was absolutely AMAZING! as well as Emma in housekeeping, she was so sweet! they made the stay even better! 10/10 would recommend to anyone.the only con i experienced was the lady on night shift around 11:30PM on my arrival date. we went down to grab two waters, and came to her to pay for them. she was very rude, far from polite and professional like the other staff members.
I loved this hotel. Staff was excellent, place was clean.4 stars because they were not serving breakfast. It seems like the new this where hotels save a ton of money by not serving breakfast and using Covid19 as the reason. Yet they dont offer a discounted room rate.
We were super pleased with the amenities and friendly staff at this location! They have their own small parking 🅿️ garage attached to the hotel, which can be utilized for long term usage. Also, another great perk is the variety of restaurants found within a short walking distance of the establishment.
Best hotel in town hands down. Staff is super friendly and accomidating. I highly recommend this location. I stay here every time.
Friendly staff great location. Both of our rooms had broken ironing boards. No free breakfast.
I want to tell you what a wonderful experienceI had when staying at this hotel. I want to say that Erik at the front desk was so welcoming. He was very professional. He went above and beyond to be sure I had a great stay at the hotel. Having someone like Erik at your hotelmakes the traveler feel so comfortable. Please be sure to express my thanks to him. I’m planning on returning to Birmingham thisspring. When my plans are finalized I will make sure that I stay at this hotel.Best Regards,Carrie May
Very nice little hotel with a friendly staff. Convenient to Brookwood Medical Center and walking distance to many restaurants.
Location is Fantastic! Staff are very friendly and helpful. I have been staying here every month for business and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. My only issue is that the TVs are ancient when compared to the rest of the hospitality industry. No Smart TVs. No way to plug in a Firestick/Chromecast/etc. You are only getting the provided cable on these TVs. The cable itself is comparable to what we were using in the early 2000s AT BEST. Please, please, please join the rest of us in 2021 with these TVs soon. At the very least, consider TVs with an accessible USB port. This place would be perfect if they upgraded the in-room entertainment capabilities.Other than that, this place is great. Cant wait for the bar to open back up! Walking distance to healthy eating, a couple bars, and Sushi. Really cant beat that.
Cool design, but needs better cleaning. Some areas of the room were never touched. Wiped down everything since the room cleanliness was not acceptable. Coffee maker made 1/3 cup and the rest went into the try. Machine was broken. No iron in room and only shampoo/conditioner combo. Not great for long hair. I have stayed at the aloft in Tempe and was a completely different experience. The front desk staff was super nice and helpful.
The room was squeaky clean, nicely designed, and comfortable. The lobby amenities are minimal at present, but if normal returns its a fun spot with a great bar. Mask requirements and social distancing were fully followed. The breakfast area had minimal offerings, again a sign of the times, but there were two flavors of Kind bars, which was ample for me. The location is great with a variety of restaurants within a block. But two drawbacks must be mentioned. One, the toilet would not flush, and I found that out in the middle of the night. Second, while there are lamps conveniently located above each side of the bed, there is no apparent way to turn them on. No reading in bed for me! All in all, a good nights sleep was had by me.
Super cute, exactly right in the middle of everything we plan on doing. Will be staying here for our birmingham adventures from now on
The location is awesome. There are plenty of places to walk to for dinning and shopping. The hotel opened in 2008 or 2009, bit is holding up well. It barely shows its age. You have to be ok with the modern layout of the rooms to truly enjoy this place, but it seems to accommodate most people.
From the time we arrived at this sweet little spot until we departed the two gentlemen Anton & Jerry were so friendly & accommodating! Anton greeted us & our puppy with open arms & told us where to go for fireworks! Score! 🙂 Jerry was our bartender & made us delicious cocktails! 😉 The cleaning staff were the sweetest too! Not anything fancy but very cozy & quaint! My son loved the pool too! Definitely would visit these guys again if we are ever in this area again! Thanx to all who made our stay awesome!
Friendly staff. Cleaning staff was slacking
This is one of the first Aloft built. You can see it’s age throughout the building. Definitely in need of a renovation. Over all, good experience, friendly staff and in a great area
A great hotel with free parking and comfortable bed. Within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops
Aloft hotels are clean, modern and inviting. It was as expected. The even service, clean room and bed. Also dog friendly
Its a little old looking and dingy inside but its clean and really chill and pretty quiet right now. I loved the view outside my windows!
The hotel is very nice. No complimentary breakfast however. Parking underneath the hotel was good. The spaces were satisfactory as far as size goes. There are a sufficient number of spaces too. The room was spacious and the bathroom was good. I wasn’t real happy with the shower head but it wasn’t a game changer. All in all, a nice hotel and good location.
Great accommodations and service. Sad to see the bar closed due to COVID-19. It really adds to the great atmosphere of the hotel.
Room dirty. The guy at reception desk was so rude. I have hearing impairment and tried to explain I could not understand him and he got very rude. He asked me if I could prove to him my disability. I guess the hearing aides in my ears didn’t qualify according to him. Apparently, this hotel doesn’t want people with disabilities staying and doesn’t adhere to the ADA Federal Disability Act. .
A succubus named Cindy stays there n she looks delicious
I cant imagine how many times weve stayed at Aloft over the last 9 years! We love the convenience and the area. Homewood is delightful--great shops and restaurants--perfect for both business and leisure travelers. Close to downtown. THE HOTEL! The rooms are very comfortable, minimalist and flat-like rooms. New mattresses and blow-dryers were recently added. Great upbeat vibe! The new management has stepped things up! The lobby, halls and rooms all seem fresher and cleaner. The employees! Wow! Great front desk check-in. Helpful and friendly. Great bartenders as well. Weve made some nice friends with them and other guests over the years. Had a great recent trip and will be back soon!Wish there were ice machines on each floor.
This hotel was really nice. Initially messed up. So received complementry arrangements for error. I will use this chain again.
Nice place. Nice people! Clean! Attentive staff. Can’t beat the location.
Positive: Great location, clean, friendly staff Negative: Nothing
Close to many restaurants.Wonderful Customer Service.Rooms definitely need some updating. The water pressure in the shower wasnt the best. Overall, nice hotel.
You have to beg I mean request room service. We had to call 4 times just to even get a few extra towels. Hotel was just plain nasty and very rude.
I got a good night sleep. The room was clean.
The environment is beautiful, the location is good, the transportation is convenient, the room is comfortable and sanitary, the service staff is very warm, willing to provide all kinds of help, breakfast is rich. The facilities are very user-friendly, the high-speed network signal is good, and the scenery outside the window is good. There is a special bed opening service, and the design of small decorations in the room is also very unique. Good value for money, next time I have to stay
We have stayed at this location many times and have always had a great experience. Our number one reason for coming back is they are pet friendly. We also like the staff, cleanliness, comfortable mattress and bedding. The hotel cantina has healthy food options. There is a restaurant that connects to the hotel and others within walking distance. A parking garage is connected to the hotel. We love that there is no parking fee. The hotel is popular so plan your trip in advance.
Don’t waste your money. The pool table in the lobby is cool. That’s the only good thing I can say about this hotel. Definitely don’t upgrade to a premium room! Wasting your money!!!
Beautiful room, great pool, and gym. Overall vibe was hip!
Aloft hotels are our top choice for stay with our dog, as they treat her like family and the VIP guest she is! We love the cleanliness, amenities, and modern design. We love the staff enthusiasm and kindness, and we always find ample parking in each Aloft. We love staying at the Soho Square; its close to shops and restaurants and is a quick drive to downtown- easy to Uber to events downtown. We will definitely be back!
We were on a Roadtrip from Los Angeles,California to Brunswick,Georgia and we stayed at this hotel one of the nights, it is a little more pricey then other hotels, but you won’t regret it, all the staff was very very nice, the building is kept up and maintained, the room was very clean and had great amenities, the WiFi was a little slow from our room (room 403) but luckily I had my laptop that had a Ethernet connection and I was able to plug it directly into the internet connection in the building and it worked perfectly. We traveled with our Italian greyhound and the staff was very welcoming, there is NO PET FEE for your pet to stay here. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and especially those with pets. 5 stars!!
The location of this hotel is amazing. I would stay here again just for that. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Loved the modern feel of the lobby and the indoor pool was great. Our room wasnt as nice. It felt dirty and there were issues with shoddy workmanship in the room. It was an old air conditioning system, so it was challenging to keep the room cold or hot. There was no blanket in the room. And housekeeping didnt seem to really clean the bathrooms. The hallways also felt unkempt with marks on the walls. Overall, we enjoyed our stay mainly for the location and ammenities. And the prices was decent. I would have paid more for a cleaner and more luxe feeling room.
Good place in a safe location. People at the front desk are nice and accommodating. Room was clean and tidy. Only one complaint (which wasnt an issue for me since I was alone) - the sliding door for the bathroom was stuck and could not be closed which meant the bathroom was open. Other than that it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Cons. Room had a lot of outside noise that you could here over a sound machine. Water pressure was bare minimum and wife couldnt wash her hair. Pros. Customer service and location to restaurants and shopping.
Great location downtown with a lot of restaurants and other things to do very close by. They also have some of the best soap Ive ever used 😁
This is one of the most visually stunning hotels Ive stayed in. The lobby offers dynamic and comfortable places to lounge and the bedroom layouts are a treat when you walk in. After a bit, you witness the true holes of the place however. The bathroom doors, while cool and modern, are heavy, ackward, and dont offer the privacy of traditional bathroom doors. The non-complementary breakfast has a lack of attention given to it with coffee lids and bakery goods not maintained even in the early hours. The hotel cleanliness is average at best as there always seems to be crumbs, etc in the hallways and elevators. Aloft is in a good location with fun stores within walking distance to visit.
To be fair, the person at the desk was very nice, courteous and apologetic. But everything else was a nightmare. We booked a larger room 5 1/2 weeks early, 2 queens and a corner view. I checked in at 6 am the day before to be sure I would get the room I wanted They called the day before to confirm everything and asked if there was anything they could do to make our stay better, I told them to be sure I got my room with the view. Did not happen, gave it to someone else. Smaller room, no view, no balcony, 2 double beds for 3 people. But they were really sorry and would give me 30,000 points - I don’t want the points. I wanted my room, I wanted a nice stay for Christmas. The WiFi doesn’t work, the refrigerator is sitting on the floor under the bathroom counter and there is one chair in the room. The only other place to sit is a bench under the TV. I go on line and the website says there is another larger room, the desk says there is not, his manager told him to give us this room. WHY? Maybe they decided they could get more for the room from someone else. It was listed for app $30/night more than I reserved. This was not a one-time visit. We have family and have stayed in other hotels. We will be back, it will not be here and I would not ever recommend this to anyone. I feel sorry for the guy on the desk, it’s not right to treat customers this way and it’s not right to put your employees in these situations. Plus the fact that things don’t work right. Bed is comfortable, but not a queenWiFi does not work in 437 or 537No ice on 4th floorDoor between sink and toilet is difficult to open and close, and noisy
This is the second time I have chosen to stay at Aloft in Homewood. It is super convenient and located next to all of the great restaurants and shops. The staff was fabulous and made sure we had everything we needed! I will definitely be staying here again!
Perfect stay and great view of Vulcan park. Quincy was awesome!
I get to stay here for work and it is wonderful! The staff are always friendly and professional. I wish there more locations!! The lounge is a welcoming center after work. Its close to fast food and local shops. If you come to Birmingham, you need to stay here.
Super friendly staff and amazing beds
Got lost on our way through town. The gentleman working the night desk was incredibly helpful and courteous. Even though we didnt stay there, we will definitely recommend the place to friends and family and probably stay in the future!
Nice quiet hotel, rooms are clean, and Bliss products in rooms so thats nice. Theres no room service but plenty of restraints in walking distance. Pet friendly as well.
The Aloft in Birmingham Soho Square is a unique hotel. The decor is modern and industrial. The bathroom is equipped with a spacious glass surround shower and plenty of luxury towels are provided. The hotel is within walking distance of shopping and wonderful restaurants. Free garage parking was a plus!
We stayed here one night as a nearby get away. The location is excellent, plenty to do within walking distance. The staff here are amazing! The front desk staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. Our room was clean and very nice. The refrigerator did not work, but only staying one night we didnt bother with it. The bed was very comfortable, LOVE the pillows! We visited the attached restaurant, which is not part of the hotel. They were a little out of our price range, we asked the bartender at WXYZ (part of the Aloft) for recommendation, and he directed us across the street to a sports bar and grill that was exactly what we were looking for!Lots to do within walking distance. We did some shopping, went to a couple of bars and had dinner before returning to WXYZ. I cannot say enough about the bartender that night - Garrick Hoffman. He was AMAZING! There were 2 wedding parties that night, folks in town for the bowl game and visitors as ourselves. He was working alone and stayed on top of everything! He was great!Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will most definitely stay at Aloft again.
Positive: Location is perfect and value Negative: In need of some updating, particularly the carpet is wearing out in the room
I was in town for 4 nights for a wedding and really enjoyed my time at Aloft. Normally a hotel lobby is just a place to walk through on your way to your room but this was different. There were so many places to sit, games to play, food and drinks. Its very comfortable and inviting. The room itself was nice, and had some unique features. I did find myself missing a comfy chair and drawers. Theres a bench and some shelves as substitutions, not quite the same... The staff was so very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with my safe and one staff member in particular, his name is Garrick, went above and beyond to help me. I cant sing his praises enough. I would definitely stay here again and probably will some time next year. Thanks for a great example of Southern Hospitality!
Nice hotel. Hallway wallpaper was worn and torn from luggage and housekeeping carts. Needs to be updated with wainscoting.Staff gave good recommendations for dining. Great free parking in front and garage.Need to post where ice machines are.

This is a great hotel for everything, from sleeping to entertainment. The have a great bar and sitting are that extends to outside. There is always some type of music, overhead to live. Went to a birthday party and Aloft has lots to choose from on both the drink and food menu. Its a busy area so valet parking is best. Have a great time!
Great location with several restaurants within walking distance. Our kids loved the pool table and layout of the rooms. The rooms were spacious with plenty of space for a family of five. The staff was courteous and we enjoyed the urban decor.
The staff made us feel very welcome, all of them. In particular, Megan at the front desk was very helpful. Gave us a printout of local, walkable restaurants and a map of how to find them. The bartenders were very attentive but not overly pushy, and we didnt have but one drink but they did check on us while we enjoyed our coctails in the outdoor lounge so we were able to smoke and chill out there. The weather was perfect for it, and it has very comfortable and hip furniture and a fireplace. The room was smaller than I would have thought but not too small by any means. Loved the layout of the room and the functionality of the bathroom. Excellent, spa-quality shower. I asked for a room on the top floor and got it, and had a brilliant view of the local area and a fantastic view of the Vulcan statue. This was my first stay at an Aloft, and I spent HOURS and HOURS of time researching which hotel to stay in for this area. I tried all the various travel websites and this was the hotel I chose. I felt like I hit a homerun with chosing Aloft. Excellent staff, great rooms/ambiance/cleanliness, fantastic location.
Great location and parking, modern and simple, most importantly clean
Aloft was a great hotel. The staff exceeded my expectations and was very helpful answering all of my questions! Free wifi throughout, televisions on the fitness center equipment, and friendly staff were just a few things that stood out to me. The location was great with easy access to Homewood (a 5 minute walk). The rooms were modern and spacious with large flat-screen TVs and many outlets to plug all of your electronics in. There was a small closet area with hanging space and a few shelves for storing clothes, etc. but there were no drawers. My king-sized room had a small couch/bench and plenty of counter/desk space. I would recommend this hotel especially to businessmen/women who need a convenient hotel. Families may also enjoy the hotel, but I think the size and amenities are more suited for business purposes. The free access to a computer and printer also made travel easier. Overall, a great stay at Aloft! Plus, its pet-friendly!
First time staying at an Aloft hotel, I was very pleased with my stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean. Beds were comfy. The hotel was quiet. Had a great first time experience.
Very nice hotel in Homewood, AL.Great safe area with a great friendly staff and great bar. There is even a pool table!Great location overall.I will be back.
Located in a safe area, with various shops and restaurants easily walkable. Decor is typical aloft, with modern decor, high ceilings, bright colors, soft rock music, etc. Staff was friendly with good suggestions for nearby food and shopping. We arrived early and they were able to check us in after a little wait. They have a pool table you can play for free and plenty of lobby seating. The bar was dead, even for a Thursday night. Suspect most visitors are there for business.
Mediocre hotel. Elevator buttons do not work to the 5th floor. So you have to call the desk to have them bring it up to you. Has a dingy smell.Plenty of available parking though. And front desk lady was polite and helped out when we asked questions.
Pros: Free parking, nice lobby, friendly staff (Teddy was sweet), nice roomsCons: Platform beds were a little firm for my taste. We found some trash under the bed and hair in the shower. There is no ice machine which was a problem since I was traveling with medicine for my child which was required to be kept cool.
My Wife and I have stayed In the Aloft Birmingham Soho Square several times. We always go back. We know the staff will treat us right and the rooms will always be perfect. It is in a great location and affordable too.
New Years Eve in Aloft Birmingham was great. Michaels (the restaurant) served up a tremendous meal--Cinnamon Rolls served while waiting for dinner were THE BEST!! Service and Food was Tremendous. Aloft Staff really seem to love where they work and pass their excitement to the guests. Re-Fuel is a superb approach for todays traveler--providing 24/7 access to food and beverages. Modern design of the hotel room gives even todays older traveler a little pop and something different from the traditional hotel. Love Aloft. Will stay again! We were just traveling through and it happened to be New Years Eve. We really enjoyed!!
I have used this hotel for a number of years. The location is very near restaurants, grocery and gas station. This is a very central location especially for accessing the downtown Bham rate. The hotel is clean but beginning to look a little dated.Fitness center is adequate but no extensive.I recommend this Aloft in Homewood for any type of stay.
The lobby of this place is its best feature. Eclectic and warm... it welcomes and entertains with a bar area and a pool table that is not coin operated by the way. The beds could use a Marriot upgrade but other than that we had a perfect stay that was enjoyable and comfortable. Hope to catch live music next time we are in town.
The customer service here was amazing. We called ahead after a long day of standstill traffic with a one year old, and were met not only with a crib in our room, but with drink vouchers for the tired mama and dad! They were more than accommodating to us when there was a puppy missing its parents next door and provided us with another room while also contacting the dog’s owners. All to say, we were met with smiling faces and felt cared for greatly by the staff. Room was wonderful and clean and I couldn’t recommend this hotel more!
Not a bad place. Convenient location close to restaurants and stores. Rooms for cleaning everything worked. The only issue I had was with this front desk staff. She would not stop watching her video to check me in.
This place has been great! Clean rooms, nice showers, the staff has been friendly. If you are looking for a fun place to stay, look no more! It’s nice to be able to walk to SoHo square, though it all closes to early.Room had a king and it wasn’t fancy or anything, but it was clean!
I paid a much higher rate for the same room than the person checking in immediately before me with no reservation. Was not allowed to change my rate.I was assigned an occupied room, and an employee opened the door to the embarrassment of the occupants. My expensive room had a less than expensive view, along with minor housekeeping and maintenance issues.I didnt have a great experience, but this could be a great hotel. Just be aware of rates, room location, etc. Great location.Great bed.
Hotel was nice but WiFi was horrible. Speeds were extremely slow and you couldn’t keep a solid connection. The beds are uncomfortable, but this is the type of mattress that the Aloft brand uses in all their hotels. The staff was very friendly helpful and the lounge was a great place to hang with friends. The rooms were clean and modern and there were plenty of outlets to charge all our devices.
The staff checking In did not inform me of any of the Amenities the hotel had to offer. Fitness Center where? Elevator where? Snacks where? Sitting area where? Checking out the staff did not ask how my stay was. Just was not happy with the staff. Neat place to look at that is about it.
I am very unimpressed with the cleanliness of my stay. Not only were the sheets/covers wrinkled like someone else was in the room before me... The SHOWER WAS NOT CLEANED. Someone else’s writing was in the glass shower door. This means someone else’s bodily fluids were still in the shower. This stay has been very disappointing and disgusting. COVID-19 is created by people not being as clean as possible and I go to a Marriott hotel and get this?! Marriott you have truly disappointed me. Nothing was upheld to your standards.
This property was designed with intention but without thought. Everything looks fine but didnt serve its function. Analog clock is cute but ticks loudly; closet only accommodates five articles of clothing; in-shower soap and shampoo dispensers feel like Im at the gym; ironing board was built for guests under 56 and the tiny tube of body lotion was good for my hands but little more. Using the Bonvoy app to request a foam pillow or to permit keyless entry to the room both failed.Staff were very accommodating, but couldnt overcome the basic failure of the propertys design and concept.
We were pleasantly surprised to find out after we arrived that this was a pet friendly facility. we saw 3 dogs and they were perfect guest! The Bar and lounge were great. Comfortable, quiet setting with light music plenty of seating, and pool table to entertain. One disipointment was the courtyard allowed smoking. everytime the door opened the smoke would fill the lobby/lounge area. Not cool for a smoke free facility.
Nice elegant place
The hotel is up to date, friendly and very convenient to shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend this location.
I loved most things about Aloft. The design was contemporary and sleek; the high ceilings really made the room feel enormous; the balcony overlooking the city area had a great view; the room was bright; I loved that amenities (like parking, water and WiFi) were all free; and it was within walking distance to a great coffee house, several restaurants, and a bar that played live music. The on-site bar and restaurant were both excellent. The one downside - and it was not insignificant - is that the bed was not as comfortable as it should have been. I didnt sleep well, as a consequence (but I will acknowledge that I am a Princess and the Pea sleeper - few hotel beds meet my expectations).
Great staff and service, that gets 5 stars. The parking area, location, newness all gets 5 stars. The atmosphere of the lobby, games, bar area gets 4-5 stars. The bed gets a 2 star, and the cramped dorm-like feeling of the cold cement walled rooms with very odd decor thats going for chic-modern, but feels like 1970s bad Andy Warhol exhibit gets a 1 star. Everything was great til the room....and overall, the main reason Im staying at the hotel is for the room and sleep quality. Rooms need more warmth and better beds. Not sure if well give another try, unfortunately.
Great location and I got to bring my pups at no extra charge! They brought us doggy treats and baggies. I loved all the people with their pups. It was a great stay.
This is a very nice, modern hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. This hotel is located in a good spot where you can walk to plenty of shops and restaurants. The fixtures are nice and the ceilings are high, with big windows. Its pet friendly, so there are dogs around. The pool, gym, lobby and bar are all very nice. There isnt a completely breakfast, but there is a cafe.
This is a great hotel option for a stay in Birmingham. Located close to several nice restaurants, or a quick Uber ride will get you to other nice areas of town. The interior of the lobby and rooms is very unique, and my rooms have always been perfectly clean. The nightly rate is also very affordable. I always enjoy my stays here.
This is a clean modern hotel. The beds are very low and I found them uncomfortable but not every mattress is for everyone. I was far from from the elevator which is good for noise but not internet access apparently. Overall this is not a bad hotel by any means but it could be better.
The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. They are very dog friendly. They have a pool table in the lobby. There were only a couple little things that bothered me. They have signs up saying their parking lots are closed and that you need to see the complementary valet. It would have been so much easier for me to just park my own car. Especially considering the valet didnt feel comfortable backing up with a trailer and had to ask someone else to do it. Also the music in the lobby and elevators was a little too much for me. They did all the important things well, so I would not hesitate to recommend Aloft to a friend.
LOVED IT! We will be back. The staff is amazing and very accommodating. We had a late wedding but was not staying an additional night, they provided us with a late checkout and it was very helpful. We will be back in a month and will be staying here again.
Ive stayed at the Aloft in SOHO (Birmingham) 2 nights this week. The staff is extremely friendly, quick, and efficient! I enjoyed a cocktail at the WXYZ Bar where Lauren took excellent care of me.. For dinner I walked through the hotel to Michaels, where I had an excellent steak dinner. Having the bar and restaurant right there in the hotel lobby made things very convenient, and I did not have to bother getting out and searching for a place to eat!The room was very nice and modern, and one of the cleanest Ive seen in a while! I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Birmingham. Homewood is beautiful - there are tons of boutique style shops within waking distance of the hotel. It is also conveniently located to several major areas of the city, and just a hick trip to downtown, and 2 different malls!!Happy guest,JD
Immediately we recognized a modern, fresh, colorfully creative atmosphere that was welcoming and alive. Check-in and out was flawless. We especially liked the option for no maid service in exchange for a $5 voucher to be redeemed for food or beverage items. The room layout was very cool with tons of electronic hookups. The only blip came at bedtime when the noise level in hallways and next door kept us awake for hours. A sound machine would be a welcome addition to this otherwise super chic accommodation.
Great hotel - clean rooms, nice area, good food!BUT never have I been to a hotel with the service of this hotel.I left my IPAD in my room and traveled home (Boston). Didnt realize until 2 days afterwards.Called the hotel and to my HUGE surprise, they had my IPAD. WOW,Then the staff worked with me promptly to ship it back to me in 1 day. 1 DAY! wow.Thank you ALOFT Homewood. Best experience with a hotel in a long time.
Bed made my back hurt.Pool closed really early. Our phone wasnt working so whenever the hotel called we had to put it on speaker.Location is really good though. Its in the middle of Homewood right next to Demetris and a block over from Johnnys.
Check in went smooth and swift. Late check in. Bartender was nice and suggestive of delivery service since nearby was closed. Room was designed differently. Disappointed that room didnt have charging ports for phone. What was worse was that toilet was dirty. Feces on seat and left side of toilet. It was almost 2 in the morning and reported to clerk next morning.
I love staying at a place that has so many cheerful adults, kids, dogs and employees. I have everything I need there.
Was only there for one night, however, my mom and I loved he hotel. Staff very welcoming, room and decor trendy and cute. We had dinner at a great restaurant in the lobby. A bit pricy, but excellent food and service. We would definitely stay here again. Free parking too!
