So my dog had minor surgery by my vet on Tuesaday with internal suture and glue by Saturday it was opening. Sent photo to my vet and they said I should go to emergency clinic to have staples put in. Went to this clinic after calling ahead and sending details from my vet. Was charged $185. Never saw or spoke to vet. Vet tech said he looked at it and wanted to sedate and suture. My dog had already had a sedation this week and did not want another. This vet doesn’t believe in staples. My vet would have put the staples in in five minutes and sent us home. Vet tech said doctor believes staples do not hold. All I know is we have had nothing but success with staples and when I got my aortic valve replaced at Duke Hospital they sent me home with staples and I did just fine. Never again. My vet recommended another place but they were 6 hours out and this place said they would see us right away. That all changed when we got there. Vet tech upped the bill and sad if we didn’t like it we could just let it heal as is. I will take her back to our vet on Monday for staples. As I said never again.

Our beloved lab of 12 years passed away in our home. I called and spoke with the receptionist who was so kind and patient with me throughout my tears. Within an hour of leaving our house we were home. We took her to get her cremated, the staff (receptionist) was efficient, calm, and extremely patient with us and our questions. We were weary of coming here at first because of a COUPLE ONE star reviews but our time with them was smooth and as painless as possible. Thank you for caring for a baby and making sure our transition was seamless. Lots of love.

I’m giving them 5 stars! We didn’t call before going because we weren’t sure of the name but they took our fur baby right in as soon as we arrived! They took excellent care of her. I called today to have them send the report over to our regular vet & that was taken care of, as well. I have to say, they’re on top of it! Thank you for taking such great care of our princess for the second time! Very efficient, very professional! I highly recommend them!

If you want a veterinary practice that cares more about money than your pet, take them here. If you want a practice that takes advantage of false hope to collect as much as they can, take them here. Practices like this are the reason so many pet owners have to make hard decisions. Of course they should make a profit, but when you are provided with 50/50 odds for severe pancreatitis in a dog, when published survival rates are 15 percent, it’s pretty easy to see what’s going on here. Our bill went from a provided quote of $4k, to 8k in one day with no change in treatment plan. Avoid this place at all cost.

Update: We got her ashes back and the box it came in along with the clay mold of her feet are just beautiful. You’re making a mistake if you don’t come here!My bearded dragon, Clementine, passed away April 30th 2021. After refusing another animal hospital that’s closer to us (that was awful) my wife found this place while looking for a vet we could go to so we can start the cremation process for Clementine. There’s literally nothing bad I can say about this place and people. Super super respectful and kind. Constantly told us how sorry they are about our lose and we’re helpful the entire time. I am so glad I drove an hour in the middle of the night just to come here. It was completely worth it.Oh, and I brought Clementine in while wrapped in a towel and I told this very nice lady who came out to retrieve her that I’d like the towel back as that had some sentimental value.. long story short, she thought I said her TAIL instead of towel! 😂 I’m not angry about it at all, it just gave my wife and I a very well needed laugh. Thank you for all you guys do!

My experience here was HORRIBLE. My dog was brought to this place. Due to covid I was not allowed inside. I told them that my dog was just laying around and tilting his head. They took my Dog to the back wirhout me. When they called me (I was sitting OUTSIDE in my car) they said they could not see anything physically wrong with him his checkup was good. They start to talk about getting blood work and all sorts of other miscellaneous charges. They were talking about $800. I thought it best to bring him to his regular vet. So I pay the $235 bill and go home. Take my dog to his vet the next day and would you believe it, he has an ear infection. ARE YOU KIDDING?!?! ME WHAT THE HECK DID THEY CHECK ON HIM FOR 235?!?!

If I could possibly give this place zero Stars I would. This practice is a thievery and they make me sick the way they take advantage of pet owners. I take our Great Dane up there because she had minor puncture wounds after an altercation with another dog. Theres no muscle damage no nerve damage no nothing it was just skin tears however they were large enough to need sutures. We used to take our Danes to vass where they have a excellent 24-hour vet service for emergency situations. However we just moved about an hour from there and like 40-45 min from this awful place. Within 10 minutes of waiting outside I got a phone call stating it would be between $700 and $800 no more than $800 but the minimum would have to be paid up front immediately before any procedures could even be done. I then got several mixed phone calls and visits outside saying oh it would be 3 hours, now would be 4 hours, well it only be an hour, its going to be 2 hours, and finally I was told to just go home because it would be another 4 hours. I drove 45 minutes home to be called 15 minutes later and said that my Dane was ready to be picked up. Drove 45 minutes back just to be told it was going to be $1,100. When originally they said 7 to 800 at the most, they gave me no reason why the bill was $350 over what they quoted me in the first place. But they dont release your dog to you until you pay the remaining balance even though thats not what they quoted you. I would never ever suggest this place to anybody they dont care about what theyre doing, this is horrible business practice I wish I would have read all the reviews about the same situation that I ran into before I decided to come here. I would much rather drive the 20 extra minutes to vass and not have to pay the outrageous amount of money that this thievery is trying to take from you. Theyre taking advantage of pet owners and the fact that most dogs do not have insurance and know that you either pay or you dont get your animal back. These people are wrong they know theyre wrong and I feel bad for the employees of this place that are working here that are getting the bad name that this service is producing. You dont care about the animals you dont care about the owners of the animals all you care about is filling your filthy pockets. And the greatest thing about this is the only time they replied to anybody on Google reviews is when they get four and five stars you guys make me sick.

I highly recommend this place if you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of having an emergency with your dog. Everything was absolutely wonderful, from the initial phone call, to the entire staff involved with the care of our dog Klondike, especially since we couldnt go inside with him. Hes nervous with people on a good day, so we were concerned since it was an eye emergency situation. They muzzled him and were upbeat and friendly with him and had him in and out in no time. The questions I had to call them about the following day were dealt with immediately with kindness and understanding. They also called to check on Klondikes progress a few days later. Thank you to everyone for taking such great care of Klondike and making him feel as comfortable as possible!

My poor, little boy was vomiting and had bloody diarrhea. He was not eating or drinking, was very, very weak and dehydrated. I rushed here after taking him to his regular vet. The ladies here were very helpful and friendly. The doctor called and went over all of our options and pricing options as well. They did a few treatments on him and he looked so much better when I took him home. He was even wagging his tail! I started him on his meds and that night, he started eating chicken and rice. The next morning, he woke up and went straight to his toys to play. He is doing 100% better and is back to himself. Thank you to everyone who helped us!

Our Great Dane became nauseous late on a Sunday night. They were the closest hospital to us that had Dane experience. With in moments of wheeling her thru the doors the called us (no one allowed in because of covid) saying they x-rayed her quickly and confirmed bloat. While we expected it, the diagnosis was awfully quick. This was our baby and we had decisions to make, all the while dollar signs are being talked about by the receptionist. The doctor on the other hand was caring but short and to the point. Since this was unexpected we squared up that night and paid cremation fees early Monday morning. 9 days later we get a call asking what we were going to do with our babies remains, however those were not the words used. Gotta say we are extremely unhappy with the lack of professionalism all the way down to bookkeeping. Absolutely no reason for our baby to have been left there that long when everything had been taken care of!

Insisting on prepaid diagnostic blood work before a dr could even assess. We left and a real veterinarian gave him an IV and nausea med.

I have mixed feelings about the service and care they provided. On Sunday afternoon sadly we had to euthanize our furbaby. My fiance talked to them a total of 4 or 5 times. He had to tell them about our baby over and over again. Each phone call they quoted us different prices. The prices ranged from about 250 to 190. Even while we were there the receptionist kept talking about an exam fee which wasnt what we were there for and he told her no repeatedly. The DR however he was nice and very sympathetic. The women who helped get him in and out of the car were nice too. TVRH offered to do a paw print yet didnt ask for the spelling of his name. Thankfully they didnt bake it. The paw print itself was awful. Over the phone calls we asked them to trim his feet hair and clip his nails for a good print. Obviously that didnt happen. As a distressed owner I was too upset to argue. I pray we never have to use them as an option again.

My dog was experiencing vomiting and bloody diarrhea. I called and the lady who took my information told me the cost and that this was emergency services before any questions about my dog. She told me they would be able to see my dog but it would be around 4-5 hrs but I can come and they would take him into triage and we can run errands etc. (also stay by the phone because the doctor will call). I drove from Morrisville to Holly Springs just for the nurse to tell me that I would need to wait in my car 2-3 hours before they would come get him!!!! I explained to her what I was told over the phone and she just kept saying that they are emergency service and only take critical animals in immediately. Not only was this a waste of time and gas! My poor dog had to endure a 60 minute round trip drive and get no help! Good news I s my vet was able to squeeze him in tomorrow and I didn’t have to waste money with inconsiderate people!

1 Star for minimum required stars.1 Star for collective kindness of the staff I spoke to.-3 Stars because I feel that you were not upfront or honest about your pricing. When I called because of my cats emergency (he swallowed string and had vomit twice), I was advised that theyll want to do a x-ray, which will cost roughly $300-350 (which it did). They asked me if this was okay and I said of course. This was the only fee ever disclosed to me at any time before or during my visit, up until I was charged.I would later find that this x-ray fee is _on top of_ a $100 emergency fee and a $70 examination fee. They called me about an hour later and told me that my cat was not cooperating with the x-ray and asked if I would approve a mild sedative to calm him down. Nobody mentioned any cost. I said yes, assuming that if a vet cant settle an animal down for a necessary procedure, that giving them something to calm them down is an obvious necessity thats considered part of the procedure. I guess not. I was charged nearly $26 to give my cat Ketamine. They also gave my cat fluids, which was never discussed with me, and then charged me $60 for them, and some sort of injection which I wasnt aware of until I saw the invoice, to the tune of $26. Top it all off with an $8 biohazard fee for (something?). Why am I paying to dispose of YOUR bio-waste? That should be included in the cost of doing business. All in all, I feel that I was sold an expectation of paying about $350. Im a new pet owner, so, perhaps naively, I assumed that within a reasonable range of accuracy that I would pay what I was told I would pay. However, upon arrival to pick up my cat Im told that I owe $624.71, nearly double the ONLY dollar figure I was ever given. At the end of the day, I didnt really have a choice, did I? They have possession of my best friend, and the only way Im getting him back is to give them $624.71. I expressed all of this frustration on the phone and was told that its all pretty standard, and then upon returning my cat the nurse talked to me about it again and said she wanted to make sure I was happy. I told her I was obviously not happy, took my cat, and left.To me its less about the money. My cat is a member of my family and Ill do what is necessary for him. However, I believe in transparency in billing, and I feel that I got none here.

We found ourselves at TVRH on a holiday Monday, July 5th, after vet recommendation. Previously we patronized the ER in Cary, now known as Blue Pearl.TVRH is still practicing covid restrictions (as are most if not all EVC facilities) which was tough. Not being with your fur child in a time of distress is taxing on them and humans alike.Considering how busy they were, they got our dog Sadie in and stabilized quickly. After xrays were taken and reviewed, they revealed the worst. A tumor in her lung. At her age of 14, the kindest thing we could do was let her go.These findings arent easy to relay to pet parents face to face, much less over the phone.Dr. Jessica Cooper was amazing. Her genuine compassion and honesty were felt via phone. Her detailed explanation let us know every available option had been explored. We scheduled an at home appointment for the next day to transition Sadie across rainbow bridge.Dr. Cooper made sure we had all meds necessary to keep her comfortable until then. With the pandemic taking its toll on everyone, I just wanted to extend a heart-felt thank you for taking care of not only Sadie, but her parents too. We were given everything needed to have confidence in taking her home to transition with family, and to make that decision period. Please know how grateful we are to you and the entire staff. You are appreciated.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. This has to be the worst animal hospital in the area. They do not care about your pet, they care about one thing, and that one thing is how much money they can get out of you. When I first called one of the first questions was “are you paying with a credit card?” Not anything to do with my dog, just how are we taking your money. I went because my pup was having diarrhea non-stop, and some vomiting. After the visit I have no answers from them, no idea what could have been wrong because they have yet to let me know, no answer to the x-rays they took. All I got back was my pup drugged up on what they told me was something to help calm her down because she was scared... They gave her hydromorphone which is a pain killer that is completely out of hand and wrong. When my pup came out of the office she could not get away from them fast enough, and all she did on the ride home was cry. Unfortunately, they don’t allow people into the office, so I couldn’t see what they did to my pup, but I can say she has never acted the way she did when we usually leave our vets office.

My dog sugar dropped and was in labor, they took her in and ran some blood work and gave her IV bags and told us there’s nothing they can do and they’ll have to put her down. On top of that, they didn’t even tell us why her sugar dropped to critical level, my brother and I had to research it ourselves and come to conclusion. There’s always the C section option, but didn’t offer at first. Then we decided to wait till next day and research more options, asked if they can hold her overnight. They told us no, so we paid them over $400 for what they done to her and charged an addition +$420 for holding her for barely 3 hours. When they gave me my dog back, she was ready to leave so bad, she jumped out of the employee’s arms into mines, mind you she’s pregnant. We took her home and did things our way and saved her and 3 hours later had 6 puppies. The office staff was wonderful to work with but I think the veterinarian we saw has some work to do.We came in with an unexpected situation and had to drop off our dog at the door due to Covid and hope for the best. The veterinarian was very clinical almost to a fault. I wish she would have shared more personal experience but instead she stuck to the “prescribed” script. The initial assessment seemed positive but as the night wore on more and more calls were made with suggested treatments. Euthanasia was NEVER suggested. My husband and I came to this conclusion when the initial shock of the situation wore off.On the way to say goodbye I complemented my decision and thought about maybe going the other way. I anticipated a long goodbye but it was clear the dog needed euthanasia. I can see how someone naive to this situation would have gone through the treatment plan but I do truly believe even with treatment the odds for this dog were low. I’ve since conferred with a few vets from my home state and they agree.Bottom line the office staff was a pleasure to work with but I think the veterinarian has some things to work on. We were new to town and went with the first suggestion that came up on google in an emergency situation. We will be doing our research and have another option on hand should we need something in the future.

I called in a panic because my cat was foaming at the mouth, we had just applied a common flea medication so I didn’t know if it was normal reaction or an absolute emergency situation . The front desk offered no help. I wasn’t asking for a diagnosis rather some insight or guidance on what I should do. We received a “I don’t know we haven’t seen your pet before and we can’t help unless we see the animal” . You are literally an emergency vet, supposed to be there to support owners and pets in their worst moments and emergencies. And at the very least you can’t even act like you care?I called another local emergency vet. Thankfully they immediately helped in a calm and reassuring way. Turns out it’s a common side affect in some cats, simply due to a cat tasting the bitterness of medicine. They gave me advice on what to look out for and recommended bringing her in if she seemed worse or distressed.

I thought it would be safe to go to an emergency location when in reality, my pup was better off injured at home rather than getting put under and clearly mistreated since this place doesn’t know how to treat animals the right way especially after seeing the horrifying reviews here.... even communication with the doctor at this place was not reassuring. Heart broken that my pup went through pain longer than he had to.

I don’t know where to start. I had no choice but to go there on a Saturday afternoon. We thought our Pomeranian had broke his leg. Well it wasn’t, and nothing showed on his right leg. They put him to SLEEP to take four x-rays and the four x-rays were the exact same area. Then, they reiterated three times that they could operate on him the following week because they had openings. I asked them “operate on what“ which never got a clear answer. They steered towards a luxating patella, which it is 100% not. Waited a week and a half and our dog didn’t get any better so I took him to our vet. He has luxation in his pelvis and a small fracture at the bottom of his spine. I don’t understand why these guys could not of come any closer than they did to determine the issue and, then wanting to operate the following week...!!!??? What were they going to operate on? I would definitely stay far away from this place for medical issues. Sometimes there are emergencies and we do what we have to, but this was ridiculous.

We brought our male cat here as an emergency appt. We were charged an outrageous amount of money for an Exam, Blood work, and x-rays. We didnt get an official diagnosis, so after spending $745.00 we left. I called the next day and explained the situation and they told me they could do another exam for $140. Really?? I took my cat to another Emergency Vet and they did the same thing, plus had surgery and stayed over night and it cost me $778. The point to my review is this is the MOST EXPENSIVE Vet and we got nothing. I have taken my cat to two other places, current vet and emergency vet and they both agreed I was wayyyyy over charged. I am not saying they are not a good vet, just make sure you know what you are paying for. I will never go back to them ever. I would also not recommend them either. There are other Emergency Vets that charge half the amount with great care.

I expect medical professional to do their job so reviews are very rare for me in this profession. My second ever. My lab went down hill fast. Quit drinking and eating completely. Came to this vet on a Saturday. They diagnosed him with bacterial infection. They gave him some medicine. Answered all my questions and i had a bunch. The vet and tech was super professional. Very considerate and I could tell they really wanted what’s best for my lab. My lab Bocephus peed in the waiting room due to stress and sickness. They took care of it no problem. 12 hours later he is eating and drinking water again and is looking much better. No hacking or runny nose. Can’t recommend them enough. If your dog has serious issues on a Saturday morning this is where you should go without a doubt.

I came here in a referral for a severe dermatology problem in a staffordshire terrier. Years of antibiotics, steroids, baths, you name it. First appointment I was expecting a culture of the infection and a diagnosis from there. After about 45 minutes an assistant brought my dog out to my car with bottle of antibiotics and a vague description of what happened while I waited in my car. No culture was done and I was hit with a surprise 400 dollar bill. The antibiotic they gave me did not work. I came back about a week later and now they want to do the culture. Guess what? They want another 400 dollars. I then asked for the strongest antibiotic (given zeniquin) and a steroid regiment and after a confusing exchange about if Im getting the correct product I go home. Another week later the infection has not improved to livable standard. I call the office and Im told dermatologist is in only two days a week and can give me a call when shes back in. Must be nice. When I mention I cant afford this I am dismissed - oh well - they try to sweet talk me with the receptionist that went to my high school decades ago. Horrendous experience and you should be ashamed as professionals.

First time there, my dog had an allergic reaction to getting bit by ants. Rushed her there and they took her immediately. Dr. Called and updated on her condition as well as when I called I got a full update.I am very pleased with the care she received so I do recommend them. My issue was with the discharge. They brought her out and said nothing, he had no clue what was up with my dogs condition. Every question I ask he said I would see on the discharge instructions being emailed. I never received the discharge instructions and had to call back a couple hours later to see when I could give my dog some medicine which I was put on hold so they could get an answer for me. I never received my discharge instructions. Finally called back the next day to find out they had my email wrong even after verifing it before I left, nothing close to my actual email. Also spelled my dogs name and my wifes name wrong which is sorta irritating. Again care was great discharge was horrible.

Our pup tore her CCL (which is basically the ACL in a dog) back in January. Given the fact that she is only three years old, it was pretty much a freak accident. She is very active, so we were worried that she would slip and tear her other one because she was hopping around on our hardwoods on one back leg. Every other clinic we called in the Raleigh/Durham area didn’t have any availability for a consultation for about a month or two out, let alone availability for a surgery. TVRH in Holly Springs was the only place that worked with us and got our pup in quickly (she tore it on a Saturday, we had a consultation on the following Wednesday, and had TPLO surgery the day after that). I know for a fact that this saved her other leg from tearing.TVRH and Dr. Grafinger were amazing with our girl. I’ll repeat…. Dr. Mike Grafinger is AWESOME. He called us intermittently throughout her surgery and called us once her surgery was done to keep us informed about her status. His team followed up with us the following morning as well. They gave great instructions and helped ease our nerves throughout the entire process. You can tell they do this type of surgery all the time. Lastly, this next part is what made us the happiest…Listen, our dog is our child. We were so worried about her having a traumatic experience during surgery. She doesn’t understand what’s going on, she’s in pain, and there are strange people all around her poking and prodding her. Plus, she’s nervous and skittish around new people as it is. Funny thing is… when we went back for our 4-week and 8-week post-op consultation, her tail was wagging almost uncontrollably when she saw the staff and got to see Dr. Grafinger again. She was leaning against them and licking them like they were her best friends. That told me that the staff loves animals. You can trust them to take care of your “kids.”Yes, its pricey. I think we hit about $4,500 - $5,000 after surgery and all post-op consultations. It sucks, but it is SO worth it to have a staff that knows what they’re doing who will love on your pup. Don’t skimp on this surgery and try to find a budget clinic. Trust people like those at TVRH. If she tears her other CCL, we’re taking her back to this location. They’re amazing.

I brought my baby in and in a timely manner they were able to identify the issue (tumor), swiftly come up with a treatment plan and perform surgery. The whole time they communicated with my primary vet and also helped me file my insurance. But the biggest credit that this hospital has is its staff. They have genuine concern and commitment to animals. They literally are there 24 hours to answer any concerns you have during the middle of the night. They kept my baby company constantly following her surgery and provided me with so many updates and always offered ongoing support. Lastly, I did price compare for her surgery, and they were over $2000 less than other surgeons in the area.

Be warned! This place may look nice, but the care here is sorely lacking. My dog was home on palliative care as her liver was failing. She took a turn for the worse late on a Sunday night. The whole time we there, we were the only people in for services. Just us.First, they took her from me, went to the back and sedated her without my presence. The last thing she saw was me standing in tears as they took her a away from me. She did need to be euthanized, which broke our hearts as her survival story is one for the record books. TWICE while we were there I asked them to please put in their system who would be picking her up for a private cremation. I use Carolina Pet on Glenwood Avenue - Steve is AMAZING. Twice I tried to get them to at least write it down, put his name and number in their system, we wanted a private cremation. Oh no, I was told, they would remember.Got a call from Steve at Carolina Pet the next morning, he had been there to pick her up. This vet hospital gave our precious dog to the wrong crematory and had her marked for communal cremation. He drove to Greenville to get her and thankfully was able to before they had done anything.Did the hospital call to apologize for their HORRENDOUS mistake? No. I sent a letter to them about this and was very detailed in every aspect. I got a letter back that this only happened because they were busy. They did no apologizing. We had been struggling with a very bad tumor with our lab for months now and had been to two vets, considered if it was the end but were still trying some final efforts. Today I came home from work and she had declined, we knew it was time. After months of trying to decide it was true when its time you know. I had planned on doing an in home euthanization service but this evening I knew she shouldnt wait, it could be overnight that she passed, she could be in even more pain, it could be slow. This was our first visit to triangle vet and just picked it because it was very close, didnt think Holly Springs had a 24hr vet. The whole family went and the staff was great, they made the process smooth and personal. The family room was very comforting and personal and I really appreciated the vet taking the time to reassure us that she too thought this was the right decision, in addition to other things I saw in our dog she was breathing heavy. The vet had mentioned that she had trouble breathing when she was in the back room and that it was probably why she didnt want to lay down, easier to breath standing up. Her assessment that the tumor was not a good candidate for operating was also helpful in making me feel that I did not neglect doing the last thing I could to save her. So often doctors dont want to share there opinion and give options, but tonight I needed that unwavering determination. Explaining what would happen as she passed was also very helpful, if the vet had not told us about the postmortem exhale I would have thought she was still hanging on . We were given as much time as we needed to say good bye then we came home and berried our dear dog, it had been a long time since she looked that peaceful, we all felt good for her in the end.

She kept telling us that someone would be in with our cat’s medicine, or our discharge paperwork, in 15-20 minutes, but no one ever came back. We waited 3 hours! She initially quoted us a price of $350 out the door, but when we checked out, we were told it was $471.We complained that it was not the price that we were quoted, and she even agreed that she did tell us it would be only $350. She adjusted off $75 from the total, but would not adjust it to the price she gave us.My main complaint with our visit was the multiple excuses and lies we were told this morning.I understand that emergencies happen, and those deserved to triaged. But if you tell someone you are going to do something, you should do it, and not make excuses. We were asked to pay before we ever saw any paperwork to look over our charges, and these charges were astronomical. We paid about 200% markup on medication from what CVS would have charged us.I finally had to ask someone to just bring my cat out and her medicine so we could leave. It was ridiculous and a hot mess.I’ve been to this location several times before, and have been very happy. This visit was just a hot mess and I’ll NEVER come back. I brought in my senior dog for trouble breathing and what felt like fluid building up around his chest. It took me 10 minutes to get him to TVRH. My complaint was it took TWO hours for the vet to see my dog. The vet tech took his vitals when he came in and considered him stable and kenneled him in the back. Due to their being other patients that were more critical they waited 2 hours for a vet to exam my dog. After waiting that time they discovered he had air building in his chest cavity and his breathing was critical. After X rays were taken they found he had air accumulating in his abdomen, throat and chest. From the minute the vet actually examined him to fifteen minutes later they told me my dog was not going to make it. The staff was very professional and compassionate. I just wish they had had more urgency in caring for my dog, if they had taken his emergency more serious and had acted quicker in examining him possibly he could have been saved.

On March 15, 2018 I brought my cat here after she had a still born kitten and it been over and hour and the other one had not come out yet.Almost at soon as we got there they from her back and told us that the other kitten was stuck in her with no heartbeat and that she would need surgery to remove it, she had a fever and was very sick. They gave us two opinions, a C-section or a spaying. The C-section was more expensive and spaying her would do the same thing as a C-section so we went with the spaying. Our problem was that it would be eighteen hundred dollars for the spaying and we didn’t have that, we called around to other places and the price was the same. I don’t remember the names of the people who helped us but they got their manager to bring down the price of the surgery to twelve hundred for us so of course we said yes and they went over with us that she might not even make it through this surgery, we said our goodbyes just in case and told her she was a great mom.Once they took her back we went to eat lunch up the road, just was we where finishing and about to go home my mom got a call from the vet, I was asking she what they where saying as she was talking to them and then she said the words “so is this typically when people come in and say goodbye” when I heard these words my heart compleatly broke, in a way I have never felt before. We ran to the car and drove back to the vet where they gave us our own private room and let us sit with her for as long as we wanted. They told us that she had anemia, which means that she has lost a lot of blood and that if they did the surgery she wouldn’t have made it through it.Bree was my cat, i cleaned her ears, I gave her baths, I trimmed her nails, I brushed her fur, I slept with her at night and I fed her everyday and when I found out she was pregnant I felt her baby’s kick every day when I woke up and every night before I Went to bed, and the whole time she was pregnant I told her she would be an amazing mom.My mom, my little sister, and my boyfriend. For the first 30 mintues I just held her and cried on my boyfriends shoulder, who couldn’t even look at her. Bree was his favorite and that wasn’t the way that he wanted to remember her. My mom left to get my little sister. When they got back it was another 30 or so mintues of everyone holding her and telling he we lover her. The lady that was working at the front desk that day have us a little bell to ring when we where ready for the doctor to come in. Because she was my cat my mom let me decide when to ring the bell. Bree was purring the whole time but I could tell she was tired. When the doctor came in he asked if u wanted to hold her if we all wanted to be around her. We all agreed that I should hold her.She had a iv in her arm that he pushed the anesthetic through. He left the room and told us to get him when we where ready.I held her for the last time and told her that she truly was the best mom, as she decided that she didn’t want to live if her baby’s couldn’t. She was put on earth to be mom. And that is what my family has made peace with. The love you share with an animal is truly amazing and you could never understand if unless you have felt it.The triangle vet in holly springs was amazing. They gave us little ceramic hearts with her paw prints in it that I keep on my dresser. They where nothing but caring and nice the whole time.I know the love I showed to Bree is the same love she shows to her baby’s, where ever they are now, they know they will always be in my heart.
