My visit consisted of my wife originally leaving because she was told there was a 4 hour wait. As soon as she got home we were called to go in, not even 15 minutes later after leaving and only waiting 30 minutes. The wait time is not as bad as you may think. I ended up going back later that evening and the same as before, wait time I was told was 4 hours but I was seen in under 30 minutes. The staff is extremely pleasant, right from the moment you walk in through the door, you are greeted and your animal is being cared for. My dog Nova went in for an ear infection and Dr. Gallon took really good care of Nova. The staff that helped Dr. Gallon an ear swab was super patient with Nova and gentle as he was fiddling around. Dr. Gallon is very knowledgeable and left no question un-answered.I was then asked to take a seat while the swab was being looked at under the microscope and Nova was being shown a tremendous amount of affection by manager Adalyne. Adalyne helped give comfort to Nova while his ears were being cleaned and medication was being applied. Extremely pleased with the service provided at this location, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Thank you to the Doctors and staff who helped me this night, appreciate all of you!
This is a great place, as soon as me and my daughter came in receptionist greeted us very nice welcoming. For my first experience we didn’t wait long to be seen and the doctor was so nice and took her time examining my dog educated us on many helpful tips pertaining to what was wrong with my dog and how to go about it. While waiting there’s free snack and coffee. Staff very friendly. Thank you
It’s never pleasant when you have to rush your fur baby to the emergency hospital, but that’s the reality for most pet owners. Although I was nervous, I felt more relaxed once speaking with Dr. Nadia Rodriguez. Her and the staff were friendly, warm and very knowledgeable. The cost is not cheap (maybe 2-3x) what I’d pay at my vet, but definitely worth it to know you’re dealing with trustworthy professionals who care about your precious ones. I’d highly recommend.
I understand that the doctors are busy and occupied with other patients in the hospital, however if you have stated on your website that patients are welcomed to call for a consultation to decide if they should bring the pet in, you shouldn’t keep them on hold on the phone for over one hour with no answer or updates from anyone in the office. Please either consider arranging an available doctor on the phone sooner or remove this “service” from your website.
I brought my 1 month old puppy into the hospital because he swallowed a bone. From start to finish the hospital was caring and really nice. They found out how to get the help my dog needed and helped me into the right direction. I would recommend this place to anyone that is a animal lover as they do all they can for your loved ones. I truly appreciate the staff thank you. From Gucci family ❤️
We are so thankful to the Veterinary Emergency Group in Hoboken. Our cavalier swallowed a rock, and after another clinic told us our only option was surgery, we were scared and fearful of the worst. Then we transferred to VEG, where Dr. Stark and team was able to remove the rock successfully via a non-invasive endoscopy. The team was so kind and helpful answering all our questions, and treated our pup with good care. Now he is back to his normal self and healthy again!
They saved my dogs life under extraordinary circumstances. I cannot recommend VEG enough to anyone who needs emergency care for their pets. The professionals who work here are a cut above. I have very rarely seen the level of excellence anywhere that this firm has achieved.
Last Saturday after returning from vacation we found our 9 year old Ragdoll cat lying almost lifeless on our bathroom tile floor. Our other two cats were fine but something was wrong with Rocky. We brought him to Hoboken VEG where he was seen and triaged immediately. The doctor saw Rocky and ordered bloodwork, X-rays, ultrasound and IV’s . The ultrasound showed thickening of the stomach and the bad news of possible gastrointestinal cancer was given to us. Rocky would spend the next 5 days there and finally today he came home. We cannot say enough about the wonderful team of professionals that work for VEG. Their compassion, kindness and concern not only for the animal but family as well was greatly appreciated. We met so many people and all should not go unnoticed. Special thank you to Dr. Nicole Poppenger who first saw Rocky, Dr Keith Mihansky, Dr. Eden Stark, Dr. Alexis Roura, Alma, Julia, Eileen, Maurha, Maris, Ozzie, Selene, Diane, Elizabeth and Jasmine.I apologize as I know I missed some people but each and everyone that crossed our path was amazing. I highly recommend this place and was very impressed also with the fact you can stay with your pet through everything.God bless all of you.
Visiting a emergency vet is a stressful and worrying situation for both the pet and owner, we were relieved to be able to receive service here and be surrounded by kind, tentative individuals. The moment we walked in everyone from the front desk staff to his nurse and doctor were friendly, speedy and informative, I never felt confused or unsure because everyone took their time to explain anything that was happening and make sure Charlie (our Aussie) was comfortable. All the staff clearly love what they do and treated and cared for Charlie in the warmest and best way possible.
The docs and staff couldn’t be more professional and caring. They treated our dog so well, and the check-in and out process was very quick and to the point. The facility is bright and clean, and they don’t make you wait. Also surprisingly affordable. I can’t recommend this team highly enough.
Wonderful service by the staff. They really took great care of my dog who is very anxious. showed lot of compassion. the doctors and nurses explain everything clearly to you. very professional and caring. nice clean facility. I am glad i was referred to them from my vet during emergency. i recommend them to take your pet in an emergency.
Very good emergency vet hospital! They are kind, intelligent and truly do what is best for your fur baby. They saved my dog Louie. They were honest, punctual and took great care of him when he was admitted for Bloat. They did a fabulous job and let us sit and stay for as long as we wanted. I love this place and will forever be grateful for them. Thank you!
We visited VEG for the first time and had a wonderful experience. We were seen right away and consulted for every aspect of the visit. The doctor and assistants on staff were all so caring and considerate. We are new to the area so its comforting to know they are so close if theres ever another emergency.
Called ahead a crying mess for my little girl, Yuna. They told me to bring her in asap, and they were ready and waiting for our arrival. Even though the best option wasnt what we hoped for, I saw Yuna was well taken care of. Our hardest moments were met with compassion, patience, and kindness. The staff couldnt have treated us any better. Thank you.
Everyone here was wonderful! They helped my pup in the middle of the night, were patient with me as I weighed treatment options and asked questions, and they were really comforting and personable. I couldn’t recommend them more!
I had a horrible incident with my dog and the second we walked into VEG, we were immediately seen. From the front desk staff to the techs to Dr. Stark, it was the best possible experience under such terrible circumstances. I was able to be with her the whole time and felt completely comfortable leaving her in Dr. Stark’s care. This is the only place I would go if I ever needed emergent care!
Very happy I took my cat here! They were kind, understanding, and explained everything. All of my questions were answered and I did not feel rushed. You can tell they truly care about animals. My cat Fiona is very spicy whenever she has to see a vet and the whole team handled her with such grace and kindness. I thank you all for dealing with her hisses-I swear she doesnt mean them! Fiona is already feeling better and now I know I can trust VEG if (hopefully not!) another emergency comes Fiona and mines way.
Its not easy to rush my fur baby to the ED but I thank God I choose VEG. From the the moment we walked in, all we received was care, patience, understanding and professionalism. Dr. Roth, and Dr. Tan explained all that.was going on step by step, techs like Cesar, Ellen, and other that names I cannot remember (sorry) took care of my baby while soothing my nerves amazingly. Thank you to all that were involved (all shifts) in the care of Zeus and helping me thru this ordeal. I have my furbaby healthy and healing because you all care. God bless!
I would research any medicine before giving to your beloved pet. I feel the staff was attentive but I’m skeptical about the medicine I received due to my dog having kidney issues that were unknown at the time. I was also a little annoyed that my dogs records were sent over too late for my dog to get care at another location.Everything my dog was prescribed was not good for his kidneys. I am wondering if it exasperated his kidney issues as he is now in kidney failure. I regret coming in for a relatively minor issue (that actually resolved on its own!!!) and I feel I am partly responsible for his kidney failure because I gave him his prescribed medicine and brought him in for a small issue. I want to kick myself! The vet industry can be difficult as each pet is different. I want to be able to trust the vets in ER situations but I’m unsure… for next time I’ll go to a hospital or research a little more.I’d come here if my dog was bleeding out or had an immediate threat to life. I do appreciate the effort the team at VEG gave and I liked how I was ableTo visit my dog while he was under their care.
Today (for me) was a frenetically chaotic day for me & my pup. THANK GOD some people are still available to help on a day where most are enjoying time with family- Veterinary Emergency Group was there for Allison (dog) while simultaneously treating every pet I saw in there.I dont know how to repay these people for saving her but I am indebted to the STAFF of VEG including Dr Roura [I think its Roura but could have been Laura ( a boss wizard!)] & you too Kassandra. Thank you so much.
My dog was misdiagnosed by these uncaring quacks. First complaining hes too heavy to carry in. Than complaining its not an emergency, and finally saying he could wait. We waited 3 hours to see a vet. While in Clifton they saw us immediately without any hesitation and they actually showed concern. I highly recommend the Clifton branch. Never will I go to the Hoboken office
Attentive staff. Honest and transparent with medical issues and pricing. They work as a team and keep you informed of progress. Professional and courteous when you are stressed and worried about your pet.Bring a sweater: you might be in here a while and the A/C works really well.
Everyone here is so nice and helpful. Dr. Roura was very honest with me and gentle, helping me navigate a difficult time with my kitty. I highly recommend VEG when youre and your pet are in an emergent situation. They make it easier all around!
My experience here has been truly amazing. I brought my cat in around 2am due to URI issues and they treated him right away. Instead of judging me for not being able to afford what was best recommended, they still made me feel welcome and found a better solution for me within my budget. These women were truly god sent and such beautiful souls. I would recommend this Vet group to anyone!
Very impressed with the level of professionalism and kindness. My yorkie is 11 years old and I had never been more at ease taking her to the vet, let alone to an emergency facility. Thank you for being so caring and for keeping us informed of what to expect every step along the way. She is recovering well. Happy dog, happy mom!
I’d never had to deal with an emergency situation with my dog before, but somehow ended up needing immediate care for two separate situations in the span of 3 weeks. The team at VEG took such good care of my pup both times. While the wait times to see the vet were long, the staff at VEG was attentive in the interim. They even looked after my baby boy when I had to leave to make a meeting for work so that we wouldn’t lose our place in line. I don’t know what I would have done without them!
Dr. Rodriguez has gone above and beyond in the care of my dog Sunny after our recent tragic accident. She has followed up with us even after the emergency visit, given is necessary referrals, answered all my numerous questions thoroughly and showed such compassion. I can’t thank her enough and truly trust my dog in her care. I’m a physician myself and really appreciate the top quality care we received!!
I was so impressed with how well they cared for my pet cat. They were prepared and ready to take care of my pet the monument I walked in. I get that its an emergency center and that should be the norm but I didnt expect to be served instantly. What meant the most to me was that they were professional and had great bedside manor the entire time. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our pet on this trip but they gave us the time and resources to grieve properly. They didnt rush us or push us they supported us through the entire process.Im grateful there is a business and service like this inside of Hoboken. I didnt realize how valuable it was until I needed it.If youre reading this like I was before I went know that you can trust them. They will provide great care for your pet and support for you in what is probably a scary time.
It was cool place and definitely a great staff I brought my 7 week old dog there because he was having problems and they did a lot to him that I think he was too young for . Long story short my dog passed away the next day . Not saying it’s not a great place to bring your pets because it is but next time I’ll just do my research before anything is done .
This clinic seems to care more about inflating the final bill due than actually helping the animal and its owners. After an already exorbitant bill, the doctor was suggesting even more unnecessary tests to be done just to tell me that the cause of her symptoms was inconclusive. As a result, insurance would not cover any of the costs. The staff was also not helpful in trying to get more information and provide written verification of what was stated over the phone. We called every day for a week, had to explain our situation over a dozen times to be finally told that they could not help. I would avoid at all costs (cost being the key word here). I would seek emergency medical care elsewhere if you are able.
I highly recommend VEG Hoboken! My dog needed emergency medical assistance and I was unable to get an appointment with her regular vet so I brought her in. As soon as we walked in, a medical professional took her vitals and the front desk staff was very friendly throughout the entire process of us being there. While in the waiting area, I was happy with how clean the office was and how many people were bringing their beloved pets in. Dr. Carley Gallon and her assistant were amazing with the level of care that was given to my dog along with the follow-ups I received from them afterwards. Im so glad I decided to go there.
My dog was the victim of a dog attack. From the time I called VEG through check out, I was continuously impressed by the compassion, professionalism and efficiency directed towards my pet. Additionally, I witnessed this same expertise coupled with kindness directed towards all the animals and their owners who were in VEG during my time there. I have already been recommending this service to all I know. If you meet me, expect to hear an earful about VEG. My dog, Candy, will wag her tail in agreement.
My fur child is my everything, and THANK YOU, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart for all that you did for not only Buzz, but for me as well. Seeing my pet so sick had me quite a disaster, however, your staff was calming, friendly, and patient with both of us in person and as well over my many phone calls. The entire staff was extremely attentive and helpful to help get Buzz on the quick road to recovery. Buzz is finally starting to return to his normal self, and I wouldn’t have gotten here without VEG.
Dr Stark is the most kind and amazing! I called the clinic just to get referral for a vet that does house calls, a very sweet receptionist Tatiana helped me ask around and got Dr Stark on the phone. She picked up and very patiently listened to my kitty’s conditions and explained that they don’t do house calls but gave me every possible guidance in helping me find one. Then she gave me suggestions on how to take care of my kitty, her words filled with knowledge, professionalism and love for animals! I feel truly grateful, thank you so much for being so awesome Dr Stark!!
They took incredible care of my cat and treated him like he was there own. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you for taking such great care of Rugby!
Our frenchie, Bruno, scratched his eye on Saturday and bc our primary vet is closed on weekends we had no choice but to find an emergency vet. So glad we came to VEG in Hoboken. We called prior to heading down, and Tatiana told us clear instructions to fill out a doc via a check in link (via text) to make sure the nurses/doctor had all our info right when we arrived. When we got there, we were brought into the facility (they knew Bruno’s name and why he was there) and we were checked out by a nurse immediately. Our wait wasn’t bad at all - maybe about 30 mins or so to see the doctor, who said her name was Dr. Nicky - she was so sweet with Bruno, was very thorough with what she needed to do to check his eye, as well as giving us a detailed instructions on how to treat his eye to heal it (he ended up having a corneal ulcer in the end - scratched his eye on something that morning - and definitely needed treatment). Needless to say, this is one of the best vet experiences we’ve ever had - and this includes our current primary vet (which is saying a lot). We feel grateful to all the staff that are willing to be there to help all the furbabies - you guys are great, and please know that you definitely are appreciated on our end. Thank you!
Every team member at this location made my dog’s emergency visit smooth and humane. From the timely online checking process, to the one on one consultation over the phone regarding my dog’s condition, I was able to breath easy knowing my pet was receiving the most adequate treatment. The examining doctor was very meticulous explaining how her condition could evolve, and was prepared with an a alternate solution for all possible adverse scenarios.I can gladly express she’s doing so much better now, all thanks to the attention and care of VEG.
Visited today due to an emergency situation with our puppy. From the moment I called, everyone was very concerned and accommodating. We took our girl there and we were greeted at the door, whisked inside and the technicians immediately assessed the situation and then the Vet did her examination. Great group of professionals!
Don’t be fooled by all the good reviews, these people are rude, entitled, and care more about taking your money than your beloved companion. Don’t try calling them because the receptionist/front desk people are incredibly rude and lack any sympathy for worried parents. If they do manage to get you on the phone with a doctor they will recommend all of the most expensive tests before even hearing out the issue. I called the other day regarding a minor issue with my pup that scared me enough to want to call this place, and the doctor and receptionist were impatient, rude, unwilling to hear me out, and desperate to get me to immediately start running tests.Hoboken Vets, my usual, on the other hand were patient, kind, and made sure to evaluate my pup first before diving into any tests. I really despise the fact that this is the only emergency group for miles, and they are taking advantage of the fact that people love their pets and won’t have cars to go anywhere else. Stay away unless it’s truly an emergency. This place has a clear monopoly throughout the east coast, they’re everywhere.**I’ve heard this excuse that a company “can’t find you in the system” a hundred times. Honestly VEG, I’m surprised you think it will deter smart google users from believing this review is the truth. Don’t go to this place whatever you do.
I recently had to take my pup into VEG for what seemed like issues with his back/hip. I was really worried and concerned about him and was by myself since my husband was traveling. Dr. Roura was amazing!! She made me feel comfortable and really calmed my nerves. I felt like the staff kept me informed every step of the way, particularly because you are able to stay with your pet the whole time. As someone who just moved to the area and had not established a vet - this exceeded my expectations.
From the call to the drop off process, to the receptionist and especially Dr Stark’s amazing, caring, knowledge and calming nature, this is truly where to go when you need help with your extended family members!I wish this place was a regular vet office because I would switch in a second.Dr Stark explained everything to me with patience and didn’t mind when my daughter called back so she could explain, all over again to her what was going on. I am so grateful to Dr Stark and staff for everything!! Thank you so so much!!I hope I never have an issue again but if another emergency occurs I will be calling..Once again, Thank you
The entire staff was incredible, sweet, caring and much more. The techs to extra care of Princess Houdini and Dr Roura was beyond helpful through this crisis. We are forever thankful for the care this team took and its because of them princess was able to get the help she needed. Shes improving every day. Thank you all!
I brought in a puppy that was already in a pretty bad shape, diagnosed with pancreatitis, I really thought that she won’t make it, and she did, they saved her! They really did the best they could to save her! I was there every day, and I could tell that Jade was in good hands, the nurses are amazing!
We took our 1 year old chihuahua Yorkie mix to be seen for a last minute emergency. The staff was really calm and responsive, one of the only hospitals I’ve called where they don’t keep you on hold for hours. The staff lightened the mood and helped us get through this tough time while the wonderful doctors took great care of our dog and treated her like their own. Would recommend them to anyone!
The team over at VEG are wonderful. They were very friendly toward and showed much concern over my eleven year old dog, Charm. I hope to never have to see them again but if I do I know my dog will be in great hands!
I’ve unfortunately had to bring my pup here twice. The staff is super polite. The hours are conveniently after normal business hours because we all know, everything always happens when the vets office is closed. The check in and out process is simple and fast. Someone even checked in with me days after to make sure my pup was doing well. Highly recommend them to anyone needing emergency care.
Everyone there is so friendly and compassionate. They go above and beyond and really treated our dog like their own. I can’t say enough good things about VEG Hoboken.
I have brought a few cats their over the years my recent ones were a baby kitten 4 days old and my Sylvester 1.5 years old. Both times they have been wonderful with my cats. In fact if it was not for them my Evie who was 4 days old then would never have survived, she turned 2 months today 😻They took my cats in right away and when my little one who was still on formula came in they kept her warm and fed 😻
I took one of my two dogs to VEG in Hoboken last week. When I arrived I was nervous and afraid of the news I might get. Indeed, it was the devastating news I feared, but Dr. Smallwood and the entire staff were so nice and comforting. Dr. Smallwood explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. I was even invited into the examining room - which most vets dont do anymore because of Covid - so he could show me her ultrasound. It was a very painful and difficult experience, but I thank everyone at VEG for showing so much compassion not just to me, but more importantly, to my little precious dog..
The entire team was very nice, understanding and helpful during my pets visit. They went as far as getting blood from their Clifton location ubered to theirs so my cat, Millo, could get the blood transfusion he so desperately needed.I highly recommend!
Horrible! Yes the staff is nice and showed care in the beginning but if you’re not rich, they stop caring and become unhelpful. I’m heartbroken. I know if I was wealthy my pet would still be by my side. This healthcare system for humans and pets is a Joke! They also tried to charge the highest rates for everything.
Cant recommend this place enough. The staff works very well together and really cared for my cat. Thank you so much!
Everyone here was very kind and helpful! Even through the covid situation they are able to update you and give the proper care to your pet! They made me feel comfortable leaving my dog here and check-in was very easy as well. Very helpful, definitely would recommend.
All of the employees were such a great help. Our dog, Stella, gets quite fidgety and they all jumped in to make sure she was comfortable. Thank you all so much!
I had to take my 14 year old male Cat into their Emergency Room yesterday and after doing a decent amount of research and calling a few places I decided to go with VEG Hoboken based on the location and the reviews and how helpful and knowledgeable the staff member who answered the phone was. I definitely chose the right place to take my cat. Every single staff member who handled my Cat was so caring, gentle and just plane great with my guy. For such a stressful and emotional situation, the staff are exceptional at giving you piece of mind that your pet is in the best, most capable hands. Dr. Nadia Rodriguez was able to find out a great deal of information about my cat’s conditions. She is an exceptional Veterinarian. We are so grateful for the staff here at VEG Hoboken. Thank You!
Dr. Gallon is the best vet you could ever hope to see in an emergency (or likely otherwise). She is more than competent, empathetic, kind, comes from the heart - truly puts the animals needs first and is not profit driven - she is in this business for the right reasons. Seriously an angel of a human being and veterinarian and I dont say that lightly. Although we ultimately needed to be referred to a hospital that can deal with his complex issues, I am so thankcul that we brought him here first. Dr. Gallon spent time and effort making phonecalls to different hospitals to come up with the best possible option for us. My sweet kitty Lucien got the best possible care, is purring and happier after she gave him some relief, and all vet techs were also kind with a gentle and caring bedside manner. If your animal is having an emergency, please do not hesitate to bring them here. Thank you Dr. Gallon from the bottom of our hearts ❤
Just came out of the hospital with our pet an exotic bully. They immediately said we needed X-rays, and parvo test due to our puppy vomiting, not eating and being dehydrated. We are hopeful the office will help us and lead us in the right direction.
Brought my dog in at 7PM still here waiting at 11PM. She had a huge gash on her paw and kept bleeding for 3 hours and took forever to be seen. The staff is very unresponsive and they need better communication. They also tried charging me 1400+ Just to stitch it up and after asking they gave me a much lower price option. Do not recommend this place for an emergency.
Amazing experience. They treated Ellie right away, and made sure she was okay. Extremely patient, and informative. Highly recommend them!
I would like to thank the TEAM for all their hard work and time they put into my Nikkie. I highly recommend this place staff and doctos súper super nice and professional. One thing I’ve never ever seen before at any animal doc/hospital that VEG does they sit on the floor to speak/check animal out which provides safety and comfort for animals. You guys are the Beat! Dr. Nicole, Kassandra, Jorgi, Alma, Doris, and Chris. 100% they took great care of my Nikkie.
Commitment to quality and compassion.Dr. Gunzel and Dr. Rodriquez + all other staff members were responsive, professional and comforting during a difficult time for me and my family. They gave my pet Bella a voice when she needed it the most and created an environment of peace and trust.I highly recommend Hoboken VEG!
I have taken both of my chihuahuas to this practice for emergencies. They helped me in every way possible by providing excellent care for them. My Ruby needed an emergency c-section this weekend and they were able to save her. I am grateful for their services and care for her. They kept me updated on her medical status through out the whole time and that gave me with peace of mind. I will recommend them to my friends and family. Thank you all for the care provided to my babies 🐶🐶.
Dr. Nadia Rodriguez and her team really came through in our kittens time of need. They were professional and able to answer all of our questions with patience and clarity on top of handling our kitten with compassion and care. We are so thankful to them for saving our Joey.
I am so grateful to all the staff at VEG, from their kindness and compassion to their professionalism. I was watching my friends dog, Jimi, this weekend when he was attacked by a much larger dog on our evening walk. Because it was Sunday his regular vet was not open, but I found VEG, thank goodness!! I showed up as a walk-in and the intake process was quick and efficient, they sent me a text message to fill out information and saw us quickly. Everyone there was so kind and caring. I found the pricing for their services to be very reasonable. Jimi was scared and in pain but he left with a big smile on his face after very thorough and conscientious care.
Had an emergency with my dog where she suddenly was unable to use her back legs. The staff was quick to take her right in and spent as much time as needed assessing her to make sure I received a proper diagnosis. They did not pile on unnecessary tests or costs, they did exactly what they needed to do. I would also like to mention that my dog is a pit bull and my experiences at other vet hospitals have been upsetting, as they would rush her exams just to get her out, judging her by her breed biases and not who she is as a dog. VEG saw past that completely and treated her like as any other pup who comes through their doors. I highly recommend this emergency vet for anyones furry family member.
I took my dog to VEG in panic and thinking my dog was going to die. Dr. Rodriguez and her staff were amazing and helped my doggie Caramel. I also want to thank morning dr and staff as well. It has been the longest 24 hours of my life but glad to say my dog is doing great and is almost herself again. Thank you to the entire staff at VEG!!! So thankful to have my Cami back.
I brought my two dogs here for a Diarrhea and Vomiting issue they had. I waited over two hours to receive my dogs. Prior to receiving my dogs I payed the invoice 30 minutes earlier. Dr. Casey spoke to me about their physical exams. Dr. Casey told me the dogs are healthy and have nothing other than just diarrhea and vomiting. Although Dr. Casey stated the dogs were fine, he then proceeded to try and sell me on an estimate of over $2200 in medications and tests. When I declined the medication for the diarrhea and vomiting and stated I will just resort to ordering the medications online, Dr. Casey responded with a condescending tone. At the time I thought nothing of this but when I had to wait 30 minutes after that conversation and payment I thought it was lousy of the vet to even try and further waste my time. I then proceeded to order the medication online at chewy.com and listed this vet as the doctor to reference for approval of these same medications he was trying to upsell me on. For those who know, Chewy is a great place to find anything pet related cheap and the turn around time is great. Not only did Dr. Casey take days long to approve the medication for order on chewy but Dr. Casey declined one of the medications that was originally pitched to me by Dr. Casey. Before choosing any restaurant, vet, etc I always check out reviews. I hate to say I was wrong about thinking this vet would be worth going to but I LOVE to be able to share my poor experiences so the next pet owner doesnt have to experience the same.
Attentive and gave thorough explanation of pets condition. Helpful👍🏼
We had to take our 6 month old puppy here at 2AM due to an infection from his neutering incision - I was amazed at the communication, professionalism and quality of care that he received. Its tremendous asset to the Hoboken animal community that this place and their staff are here and highly recommend them for anyone in need of urgent care for their pets.
In the last 2 years I’ve brought all 4 of my dogs here. Pricing was reasonable and staff was attentive. Just recently brought in one of youngest pups, 4 hours waiting, 600.00 later and on top of that her stitches popped two days later. Called them so I can bring her back now still waiting. Guess it’s hit or miss with whatever doctor and staff you get when you have an emergency.
I wanted to truly thank Dr. Harries for helping to save my cat Oonas life. He recognized that she was in heart failure when another veterinarian just days before had diagnosed her with pneumonia. His quick thinking helped her through the night until I could get her in to see a cardiologist in the morning. From the bottom of my heart I am extraordinarily grateful as she is now back home and doing amazingly well.
All around good work from this hospital. The veterinary doctor was very detailed in explaining my dogs condition and willing to hear my questions. It was a real pleasure talking to him. The young ladies that work there are very pleasant as well. Excellent crew! I would highly recommend them.
My pup got sick around 4am a couple days ago and I rushed him here. Best experience ever. They made sure not only my pup was okay but they also reassure you that everything is going well. If you ever feel like you need to take your pet to an emergency room I highly recommend this place. They are open 24hours!! Very convenient for our fur babies!!!!!
Highly recommend VEG! On a Sunday afternoon, I was very concerned with my dog as he was experiencing a lot of vomiting. Of course it being a Sunday many veterinarians are closed but when I came across VEG not only did they check my pup in very fast, they also updated me throughout the day and even sent me pics of him. The staff are very sweet and the veterinarians are so understanding and helpful. My pup came home and is doing very well! Definitely a 5 star rating !
It was such a pleasure going to VEG. As soon as i walked in it was nothing less than kind, professional and considerate people tending to my pets needs. Definitely recommend it
We can’t say enough good things about VEG in Hoboken! They provided the best care for our dog Paco after eating a foreign object and needing two procedures! Thank you for saving our baby, we’re forever grateful!
The staff handled my dog with care and did a thorough exam.
VEG was an amazing help to us when our French Bulldog puppy ate something he definitely shouldn’t have. Their whole staff from receptionists to veterinarians is incredibly professional, kind and accommodating. They answered all of our questions, gave frequent updates on our pup and clearly explained treatment options. On his second visit to the clinic, our puppy ran inside delighted to be back with the staff which is a testament to their kindness. COVID safety procedures were good as well. Although we would like to avoid future emergencies, we’d definitely rely on VEG again if we needed to!
The team at VEG was amazing taking care of my kitten. took her right in, super responsive and kept me updated the entire time. made sure i was in as much peace of mind as possible. couldnt recommended them more!
Brought our dog in last weekend. Mr Mihansky diagnosed the problem our vet had missed and treated it. He explained everything and was very skilled and patient.
VEG has been there for my poor kitten. She has/had (we are still recovering) from a serious infection from being spayed in another animal hospital. VEG took care of her and continue to monitor her well-being. Specifically, I want to thank Dr. Gunzel for keeping communication with me, answering all my questions, and most importantly ensuring my kitten will be free from the infection. She was a constant support during this process and always gave me a sign of relief whenever I was stressed seeing my kitten in that state. My kitten is still recovering but she started being herself again! Slowly but surely. Thank you all from VEG!
VEG is amazing. They are always so thorough when I have to bring my dog in and I love the recap summary email they send after my dogs visit. I can always rely on them to take care of my dog if we have to go there for an emergency of any sort. Doctor Roura even followed up with me via text message the next day to see how my dog Cooper was. This really shows their care. I really love VEG!
The people are great and you can tell they really care. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 is because it’s incredibly expensive. 🤷🏼♀️ What do I know though?
I took my dog there in the middle of snow storm, after swallowing one of his toys and blocking his intestines. Not only they took good care of my dog, they kept me updated and even sent me a video of him.Everyone there was helpful, responsive and super friendly. Also, their prices are reasonable compared to similar high quality service in the area
I’ll forever be grateful to VEG Hoboken for taking care of my kitten, Harley, in the last moments of his life. His health was declining rapidly and Dr. Rodriguez and team tried their best to diagnose and treat him. The most important thing is that they made him feel comfortable and loved which meant the world to me. The bill for the treatment was very expensive, but it was worth every penny. The doctor and one of the nurses, Maris, took the time to take videos of my sweet boy during his stay there. I’m so thankful for these videos; I’ll cherish them always. After taking him to a specialist and ultimately deciding to put him to rest, I shared the news with the doctor. I was very distraught but Dr. Rodriguez sent me a kind message reassuring me that I made the best decision and that I’m a good cat mom. That eased my mind so much! It’s very rare to find such compassion and I’m so glad I received it during this very difficult time.
My 9yo son and I just had an amazing experience at VEG. His dwarf hamster, Sammy, seemed very ill tonight. Stumbling around, lost hair, shaking, etc. She was a hot mess. As the staff were bringing her in, she flipped on her back and they thought she was crashing. They rushed her in, put her on Oxygen and treated our little fur ball like any other pet in their care. I was blown away. While we were there, we were able to witness all the other animals being treated and cared for by Veg. The phones were ringing with emergencies, a few pups being looked at, a cat waiting for results and our sweet hamster getting her nails cut (more like talons). It was clear that they love what they do, even when short staffed and looking exhausted. Feeling quite thankful for all work they do and surely for the love they gave Sammy.
Incompetent staff, clearly unconcerned about their patients/customers, severely lacking in empathy and basic communication. I cannot believe all the positive reviews. There was another lady waiting in the reception area carrying a bag on her shoulder. After speaking with her, she told us she had been waiting there with her dead cat in the bag, and no one had addressed her. She advised we go elsewhere with our pet. When staff finally came to speak to her, and we saw how coldly she was treated we walked out and went to another 24/7 vet. Mind you the lady was crying, she had just lost her pet and they had no compassion towards her whatsoever. What a disgrace.
We took our pup on a Sunday where nothing else was opened and we cannot be gladder we did so. They took care of our Lucy so well, she wasnt even scared or anything, even though she was being IV treated, when they took her outside to say Hi and then went back inside with the Vet assistant with no regrets. She was hospitalized for two days for Pneumonia and they called us morning and evening to give us updates from her, they also answered the billion questions they had, specially Dr. Rodriguez was very patient with us but also to the entire staff, everyone was very kind to us! Its 3 days after and she is doing great, I really appreciate we caught her on time and took her of the problem. If I ever need, I won’t think twice of going back. Thanks to everyone there.
While my dog was playing with other dogs, one of the dog scratched my dog’s right eye and he started bleeding tiny bit. His eyes turned to red and swallowed. I called so many vet offices in jersey city including my primary doctor. No one was willing to take him without appointment. But when I called VEG in Hoboken, they connected the call with a Vet and he asked me questions about my dog and he let me explained everything. As soon as I explained everything, they told me to bring my dog right away. I took him there and they took my dog inside right away and told me to wait approximately 30min. However after 16 min they were done with my dog and gave eye drops. Once they confirmed my dog has no serious issue, I was relieved. They put a E collar on my dog and told me to keep it for 5 days. This is a great place for dog’s emergency and they are very helpful. They also called me next morning and asked how my dog is doing. Also told me call anytime to talk to a vet regarding my dog. I was so worried my dog may lose a eye and they helped me and will be thankful to the team forever. May God Bless everyone of you for saving and treating my baby.
Dr. Andrew Milian is awesome, highly recommend him if you are looking for a genuine and honest vet that actually cares about your pet. I’ve had bad experiences with vets unfortunately as far as lying and being rude/impatient/not wanting to answer all my questions. My pet had an emergency and the doctor was quick to exam him and refer me to see a specialist. So although he could not take my pets case (because this location does not specialize in exotic animals) he was a huge help & gave me his opinion on the matter (which was correct) Other staff (vet assistants & receptionists) were also great and very professional. Would definitely come to this clinic if I had a cat or dog!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PLACE!Well worth the visit and peace of mind (even during this COVID19 pandemic!!). Dr. Roura rocks and Manager Maria was very understanding. SO PROFESSIONAL I would definitely come back here if needed for any Pet emergency and also recommend to anyone that I know (friends, neighbors, STRANGERS!!) ADIPOSE SAYS THANK YOU AND IS DOING GREAT!! Thank you!
I brought my puppy here around 9pm, the process was really fast and the doctor communicated with me and gave me all the information I needed. I did have to pay over $1200 but I do understand all the necessary tests has to be done to find out what’s wrong with my puppy. I wish it was less expensive.I know the staff really care because I witnessed an incident I would never forget last night, I saw the doctor running to the car, no sweaters on and mind it was cold to help another dog owner to get the dog to the clinic, I saw how they treated the owner of the dog with kindness cause it was hard on him.Only thing is I really hope it was less expensive or that they provide monthly payment, cause it’s so hard to pay $1200 all at once.
Had a great experience bringing my pet to VEG. the team really put my anxious mind at ease and cared for my dog in a quick and friendly manner. I hope not to need their services in the future but wouldn’t hesitate to bring my dog here if the situation warranted.
When you have an elderly pet and they get sick you find yourself wishing you had just one more day to say goodbye properly. VEG helped us make our dog comfortable enough she could come home enjoy a last meal and go peacefully at home surrounded by her family and I cant thank them enough for that.
Our cat Oreo woke us up, seemingly in pain, so of course, we took him to the emergency vet--which is very convenient here in Hoboken--as opposed to driving all the way to Paramus. And everybody--from the techs to the doctor--treated us with compassion and efficiency--even though our little monster was being quite nasty. Dr. Ellen labeled him spicy and that has been the nicest thing anyone has ever said about poor Oreos attitude at a vet.
