This was my first visit to this dentist. I dont like going to the dentist because my teeth are pretty bad and its a bit embarrassing. They made me feel comfortable the whole time and made the experience as painless as possible for getting 2 teeth extracted. Nurses were helpful, polite and professional. The dentist was friendly, quick and just seemed like an overall good guy. I made a appointment for a second visit which I have never done before. Needless to say I was very impressed and thankful for them, I was in intense pain and they got me out of it.

Really good staff. I wish I remembered the name of the dentist I saw today, but it was one of 3 times I’ve seen a dentist in 31 years. I need 4 wisdom teeth pulled.Not only was the exam extremely fast and the dental assistant super efficient and nice, but the entire process took 45 minutes and I got an estimate (with insurance), set an appointment, and got a prescription for my procedure that’s a couple weeks in advance.I felt fully informed about what was happening, what’s going to happen, what it will cost, and that the medical provider I saw was competent and reassuring.The only suggestion I’d make is to maybe update decor, but other than that, this is the best dental office I’ve been to.

Simply the best. I drive out from SE Portland because they take such pride in their work and pursue their craft like an art.

The people here were exceptional. I have an intense reaction to the dentist and the medical professionals at this clinic made me feel comfortable, relaxed, and joked with me to help ease my anxiety. Great dental visit for me! Its been 4+ years since I had been in to a dentist, so I was nervous! They got me in for the visit super fast! Lauren was fantastic with my cleaning, kept asking how comfortable I was, very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable! Dr. Skinner was great as well, very friendly and has wonderful staff! Clean and nice office setup! And affordable for me especially because I dont have dental insurance! Would definitely recommend to everyone I know!

While the staff is very friendly, Im tired of the suggestions for surgery out of the blue and just amnesia of who I am as a patient. Yesterday did it for me when I called after a cleaning to make an appointment for a quick fixer-upper that was somehow still scheduled for a full blown filling on the wrong tooth. And still billed 75% of the bill. Done.

My visits in recent months have been for invisalign related work. Every visit is quick, efficient, professional, and most importantly, the people are friendly and caring. Great dental office because of the skilled and friendly staff.

There are not enough 5 stars for my experience on July 16, 2021. Its now been two weeks since Dr. Skinner removed my huge mandible Torids with his Co2 Laser. Just pure genius, and a technically skilled genius he is!I found Dr. Skinner through my local dentist, Dr. Ricci Chan, in Burlingame, CA. On a routine visit, Dr. Chan happened to mention Dr. Skinner and his procedure that removes Torids by Laser. My interest went sky-high because Ive been to specialists for decades. It was all the same: sedation, cutting, painful, and long recovery (up to 2 months.) Did not interest me! However, Dr. Skinner did. I booked my appointment and flights with no trepidation at all.From the moment I walked into Dr. Skinner’s office, he was recognizing and praising his team members as they came to do their tasks. It was noticeable, to me, Dr. Skinner’s team members felt valued. The result was a positive, happy, and caring work environment that helped me feel calm and assured. Hats off to the team!Dr. Chan flew up to witness and learn the procedure along with an out-of-state dentist. Without all the details, the results have been incredible. Two weeks in, stitches are out (by my local dentist), Im eating solid foods, and only needed 1 Tylenol the entire time.Im sleeping better, snoring is but gone, and my tongue can touch the bottom of my mouth -- bye, bye Torids!Dr. Skinner’s appellation on his website says it perfectly HILLSBORO DENTAL EXCELLENCE, and EXCELLENT it is!Thank you, Dr. Skinner!

Dental offices are not my favorite but are a necessity for health and well being. Hillsboro Dental Excellence is the absolute best from the time you enter to check in, get taken back for examination and depart after your exam. I have been to a dentists offices for a very long time in my life and most have been good. Hygienist Penny did her magic on my teeth, the doctor examined me giving advice and recommendations with no pushy sales pitches. Made me feel valued. I recommend this business to all.

I was really stress to Remove my wisdom tooth 🦷 but the staff was so nice I had a bad experience before in Canada when I was living there but then I find this place here in Hillsboro and OMG it was amazing it took 15 min to remove and didn’t feel a thing and my hilling process was very easy all of this was because of Geoffery Skinner and his staff. All I can say is WOW. I had a sudden tooth emergency where I needed a wisdom tooth extracted ASAP. They got me in THE NEXT MORNING at 8 am and took out 2 problematic teeth within 15 minutes! My 2 top Wisdom teeth were gone, just like that! I am so happy, they made it SO easy. I did not feel a single thing, the dentist - Dr Skinner - was very kind and had a good sense of humor to help ease any anxiety, AND they charged me an excellent price for 2 teeth and X-rays! It cost me less than a single tooth extraction would have cost at my old dentist! Yes, this is now my new dentist office. I have no reason to go anywhere else, they were AMAZING and I am so thankful. 10/10 recommend their services to anyone in need of dental care! They will take care of you!!

You can tell that the whole staff has an overwhelmingly positive attitude and really wants to be there helping people. Dr Skinner personally took the time to walk me through my dental implant procedure. He impressed me so much that I drove across the country to get this implant done by his team.I also had NightLase treatment done for my sleep apnea. It was so gentle and easy on me, and I breathe much better in sleep and awakeness. I wish I would have known about it before I had invasive sleep apnea surgery years ago. In terms of capability, technology, and positivity, I think this is the best dental office in the world!

I went to Dr. Skinner when I had a severe TMJ situation. He did a thorough evaluation, including a sleep study. I had no idea that TMJ and sleep apnea were related! It turned out that I needed to straighten out my teeth to help me breathe better and FEEL better. We started there with invisalign. He did a procedure to speed up the process (which wasnt fun that day, but boy was it worth it!). When that was complete, we did another sleep study, and my breathing was extremely improved! I knew this of course because I wasnt dreaming about choking and needing to go to the hospital anymore!After my teeth were straight, we started on the night laze to help create some room in the back of my mouth. Again, a huge difference in how I could breathe at night! This extended to a nose laze due to some surgery I had a few years before that impacted how much air came through the nasal passage. Again, I noticed a huge difference after treatment!In addition to the procedures being extremely helpful, Dr. Skinner and his staff are fantastic. They take the time to get to know you as a person and genuinely care about your health and well being.I highly recommend Dr. Skinner and Hillsboro Dental Excellence to anyone needing treatment for TMJ, or for any kind of dental work. I havent used his office for cleaning or fillings or other general dentistry, but I am confident it would be a great experience. Thank you Dr. Skinner and staff for being not only a great resource, but what I would consider a personal friend!

My boyfriend has refused on going to any doctor or dentist unless hes literally dying theres no way. He was in a dirt biking accident as a kid and shattered most of his bottom teeth the after math of dental work was so severely wrong that hes been too traumatized to go back, after looking into many places to help i found hillsboro dental excellence and omg! Dr. Skinners hygienists have provided excellent care and his office staff is polite and kind. There was an unfortunate miscommunication for which we are no longer with this practice. Dr. Skinner took the initiative to contact me and acknowledge his error and agreed to make it right. Im adding stars to this review to reflect his ownership of his actions, which I appreciated. If you need child-centric care (our kids are ages 7-14) beyond cleanings, this may not be the place for you. Our experience with extractions for one child was less than ideal and I regret we were not with a pediatric dentist to begin with. Dr. Skinner also really pushes Invisalign, so if thats what you want, youre at the right place.

The Dentist and staff are informative and use lingo that is possible to understand for the average person, the staff is bi-lingual and inviting. They make sure that it is understood what the patient is being charged for and what is going to happen before anything starts happening.We had a good time, and even during a major remodeling the appointment was quick and nearly painless. I.e. during a filling no instruments touched my gums that would otherwise hurt quite a lot.

I’ve been to Hillsboro Dental Excellence in Nov 2018 and had one of the best experiences ever taking care of my teeth.The staff was extremely nice, they didn’t make me wait at all!! I just arrived, filled out some quick paperwork and in two seconds was inside the office. They have crystal clean facilities too.Dr Skinner and all his staff made me feel relaxed during my whole visit. They explained with detail everything they were doing which made me feel comfortable.I was also checked by Ms Davis which handled most of my visit. He performed my exam quickly, explained my options (teeth straightening and a cavity) without the hard sell.The only way he could have done better would have to encouraged my using nitrous (not even sure if it’s available in the office) for my cavity/filling - I’m a bit nervous when it comes to shots and drilling.Regardless, a truly great Dentist and staff. I went in for a check up appointment recently and I was so pleased with my experience. Kelsey at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful with all my questions. I don’t have insurance but they gave me a great deal for my first visit. My assistant Reyna was very knowledgeable and kept me informed and comfortable throughout my appointment. I met Dr. Skinner and he was very friendly and made everything very easy to understand. I told them I always wished I had whiter teeth and Reyna even made me a set of bleaching trays at the same appointment! I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone looking for a great new dentist!!!

Dr. Skinner and his staff there were super nice. I have a LOT of dental anxiety from a bad experience when i was a kid at the dentist, so i have not been to the dentist in 15 years or so. I had a tooth ache on Friday and thought nothing of it since they have come and gone before. Saturday It started hurting a LOT more and I could barely get some sleep. Sunday came and my face was on fire. It started swelling and became the only thing that i could focus on all day and into the evening, I went to the ER and they just gave me antibiotics and pain pills which did very little to help out and they told me to call a dentist. This is the time when I knew SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE since this wasnt going away and my face was swollen up to the point that my eye was almost swollen shut.I called the office Monday morning and Dr. Skinner gave up most of his lunch hour in order to see me. I was so nervous sitting in the chair while I was explaining to the staff what was going on. Dr. Skinner explained very well what was going on and that we had to take the tooth out. He was really good about answering all of my questions and I could tell that he actually listened to my questions and concerns unlike other docs that I have gone to before.I was super nervous at this point, and he was able to get me calmed down and got me numb without me even feeling the needle! I had no idea that was even possible!Dr. Skinner was able to get the tooth out in less than 5 minutes after he got me numb. I only felt a little bit of pressure as he got it out. He rinsed the infection out and I was on my way in a few minutes after that.I am halfway through my treatment plan and am so glad that I am saving my teeth instead of just letting them continue to go bad. I am really thankful for what he did for me and the way that he helped me overcome my anxiety and realize that dentistry isnt what I thought it was when I was a kid. i cannot thank that man enough for helping me to no longer feel pain whenever i bite down into something

Dr. Skinner was my dentist before he purchased Hillsboro Dental Excellence in September of 2017. I knew him as the author of the Worlds top rated and top grossing dental app, Dental Boards Mastery. Thats right, Dr. Skinner writes apps that help other dentists to pass their boards and a clinical mastery app that helps practicing dentists stay up to date on the latest in dental science. I can personally vouch for his rather incredible abilities. I was once told by a university dental hospital that I needed dentures. Dr. Skinner pulled two teeth, did some bone grafting (not nearly as painful as it sounds), and made me two bridges. I got to keep almost all of my teeth and now I have a perfect smile. If I could click 10 stars, I would. Unfortunately, Google only lets me go up to 5 stars.

My husband snored ALL night, making me lose countless hours of sleep, and after I brought him to see Dr. Skinner and his team, They were able to get him to stop snoring and I really think it saved my marriage since both of us were able to finally get a full night’s sleep.Dr Skinner and his team took really good care of my husband and I. At first, we had questions on whether or not Nightlase would work, but we were able to notice a difference in the first nights sleep! It was truly a miracle after struggling for years. I could hear my husband snore even through his CPAP and got terrible sleep, but because I love my husband, and wanted to sleep by him, I stuck it out even though we would fight because we were both exhausted. After straightening his teeth and using the laser, we were able to get him off of his CPAP! It was an amazing to me that giving my husband an amazing smile would also help to fix his sleep apnea! Its like we won the lottery twice! I cannot thank the team enough for what they have done for us.

The treatment plan consisted of several crowns, removal of many old amalgam fillings (now beautifully redone in lovely composite), and a bridge (permanent bridge still a work in progress at time of this review), and whitening trays.Dr. Skinner is a perfectionist and I am blown away every time I look at my new smile. Have always been pleased with the Hillsboro Dental team. Everyone there is so nice and caring. DR. Skinner is the best in town.

Very understanding and helpful staff and dentist.I experience more sensitivity during dental work than most people. Dr Skinner and his staff have been nothing but kind and helpful and made sure my experience was as easy as possible.Dr Skinner has a customer for life and I have recommended him to all of my friends and coworkers.

I was recommended Dr Skinner by an acquaintance. I had a cleaning done, then came back to get two fillings.I had a lot of anxiety about getting filling done. I really appreciated the time both the doctor and the assistants took to explain things to me.I had both filling done yesterday, and waking up this morning the pain is already gone! I was not expecting to recover that quick (compared to the last time I had fillings done).

Ive been going to Hillsboro Dental Excellence for over a year now and my experience has been amazing! Dr Skinner cares so much for his patients! He communicates well and addresses your questions and concerns regarding your care right away. He really does want the very best for his patients. The dental assistants are amazing as well. They are always so friendly and do such a thorough job (Diana- is the absolute best!). And dont forget Tina the office manager, she is a BOSS! She has helped me with insurance questions, payment plans, and even got me a discount on my Invisalign treatment. Hillsboro Dental Excellence is the place to go for excellent individualized care!

I am not one to feel calm and comfortable at the dentist, but Dr. Skinner and his team were amazing. Starting as a new patient, they took their time and explained the process start to finish. Cassie Davis did a great job with the cleaning, and Dr. Skinner was very calm and attentive throughout. Great first time visit!

I usually HATE the dentist! I end up with crazy anxiety in the chair and all that. They took care of me. I needed two wisdom teeth extracted and I swear it took about 10 minutes, maybe less! Highly recommend! I’ll be going back. Even without insurance.
