If you’re on the fence about committing to a start up session with Project Lift, take my advice and don’t think, just do it. I’m someone who has considered themselves to be athletic their entire life. I’ve had trainers and coaches in the past and at this point in my life I feel like I’ve heard a lot of the same things from most of them. I was shown how much left there was that I didn’t know in just one session and it was done in a way that was tailored to me and my specific goals/shortcomings as an athlete. It was refreshing walking into this gym with a coach who is just as excited about your goals as you are.If you are just interested in weightlifting as a hobby and think that you’ll never do it competitively, you will still benefit. They will show you how to move efficiently and most importantly safely. If you think you’re not at that level yet, do it! They will get you where you need/want to be. If you are recovering from a sports injury, the staff is also knowledgeable in recovery and future injury prevention techniques. I can personally attest to this as someone who came to Project Lift post ankle reconstruction surgery and they didn’t shy away from working with me to overcome those imbalances. Even if you’re a seasoned athlete you will benefit from this program and for all of the above, the community is strong. I can tell that everyone genuinely enjoys stepping into the gym ready to get the work in and your coach will be working harder than you are to ensure your success.
I think I could write a book about how wonderful this place is. Started with back and hip problems which nobody could solve(Too many doctors, chiropractors, etc too mention) They immediately took my off all weightlifting for at least 3 months. The problem was, I was arching too much and had been doing so for years. We worked on me keeping a neutral spine in all types of ways. I had to relearn to breath, learn how to brace, strengthen my core, etc, etc. After completing this program, my squat went up 40 lbs without ever squatting. My back resisted the new way of moving but they had prepared me for this. Now, I have absolutely no back pain.Once I was allowed to start lifting I had to learn all of the movement patterns all over again. Project Lift is very strict about movement patterns. It was exactly what I needed. I wanted to learn how to do everything perfect so I signed up for their 3 month coaching program which was fantastic. The coaches at Project Lift have all competed at top levels and Drew has taken an athlete to the Olympics. There are very few places in the world you will find that kind of experience.
This is a great place for both beginners and experienced Olympic lifters. I had only touched a weight bar a few times before walking in and now I compete! It’s a very positive environment and the coaches work with all levels of lifters with the same dedication. It’s a terrific learning environment and you gain strength, knowledge, and confidence with each session. I’ve never regretted a day or dollar I’ve spent here. It’s worth it on many levels.
I recently worked with Coach Drew in the OLY technique class and it was amazing. The class size was small, so there was constant coach-student interaction and Drew was always providing constructive feedback while keeping it real with an excellent way of explaining his method and breaking each lift down. The facility/equipment/coaching is top of the line here - highly recommended!
Project Lift is an absolutely amazing place and community. It is filled with coaches with a wealth of knowledge who listen to you and create your workouts with your goals in mind and care about your overall wellness. And the people who you lift next to you care about your successes and celebrate them. Project Lift has had a profound impact. Love Project Lift!
My daughter has been lifting for 2+ years now. Not only has it helped her overall core strength, she has developed a love and passion for Olympic lifting! The coaches are amazing and always working on making her stronger mentally and physically, always keeping in mind her full abilities. Each coach keeps a close eye on her, ensuring she never risks injury. Highly recommended on so many levels!!! Chelsea and Drew are truly amazing people!!!
So grateful to have the opportunity to work with Chelsea and Drew! Their programming is individualized for you as an athlete no matter your age or abilities. They are so positive and encouraging! I am confident that if I put in the work necessary I will succeed with their excellent training and guidance.
I have been receiving remote coaching from Project Lift for about 2 years. I also travel there to train once in a while. The gym is clean, the equipment is top notch, but the coaching is fantastic. Ive worked with Drew, Chelsea and Tyler, both in person and remotely. They all have different approaches, but all of them are fully committed to their athletes progress. They treat everyone the same, whether you are a national level athlete or an old gal like me. The improvements Ive made in lifting technique is amazing. If you want to take your weightlifting to the next level, or if you want to learn the lifts correctly the first time, go see them at Project Lift. If I lived closer, this is where I would train.
After Crossfitting for 4 years, I decided it was time to focus more on my Olympic lifting technique, so I turned to Project Lift. I cannot say enough good things about Project Lift. I took the 5 week training program and was blown away by the personal attention to technique. Coach Drew Dillon was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also was a wonderful teacher breaking down the Olympic lifts piece by piece to make the lesson much more manageable and impactful. I am much more comfortable and confident in my movements and my expectations and I owe that all to Drew!
I enrolled in an Olympic lifting techniques class at Project Lift. Im a crossfitter, not a weightlifter; so, I can use all the technical help I can get. The class was everything I hoped it would be. The facility was great, the equipment was new, the drills were helpful, and the coaching was exceptional! Drew and Chelsea are a wealth of weightlifting knowledge. I highly recommend this place.
Ive been lifting with PL for a year. I had no Olympic lifting experience before starting. I am lifting for my main sport, rowing, and the coaches at PL are absolutely phenomenal. They help me connect my lifting to my rowing, and both improve as a result. They are focused on developing the stability and mobility needed to lift (or row or whatever you want to do) first, followed by the technical aspects of the lifts. You get one-on-one coaching every time you go, and I havent had a single coach who isnt excellent. It is a really a unique place with fun and focused lifters and a really dedicated coaching staff.
Project Lift is more than just a gym, its a family. I am so incredibly grateful that my incredible love and passion for weightlifting lead me to Project Lift. Drew, Chelsea and Tyler are some of the best/my most favorite people I know. Not only have I added a minimum of 10kg to all my lifts (squats and lunges included) I compete nationally and have found a community which supports me and grows me as a whole person. You really should check them out.
If you want to get better at weightlifting while being surrounded by a supportive group of people, this is the place for you! Chelsea, Drew, Tyler and the entire coaching staff really cares about your individual goals and programs your workouts specifically to address your goals and weaknesses. Their attention to detail is evident with a large focus on making sure you are breathing correctly and maintaining proper positioning throughout your movements, especially your back. The entire gym community is a family and supports anyone who walks in the door. This isnt just a top notch weightlifting facility, its people I consider family.
I am an experienced strength coach and local medical provider who has been working with Project Lift since before they were an official gym. They are some of the most knowledgable, kind and passionate people you will ever find. Their athlete-focused coaching, strong, positive environment and high quality, cutting edge training is truly second to none.If you are interested in learning more about the Olympic movements, I cannot recommend anyone in the country more strongly than I can recommend Project Lift.
This place is amazing. So welcoming and dedicated to every athlete. Ive been here for just about 2 years and am continually amazed. Their eye for technique still amazes me. I adjusted my grip for snatch one day out of curiosity, maybe half an inch wider than normal, and drew immediately picked it up from across the room. Worth the time and money to come train in person and experience the community. Progressively getting stronger every day.
My time with Project lift began as an athlete way back at the start of the club. Since then, I have transitioned into more of a coaching role. I made it known to Drew and Chelsea that I wanted to learn and be able to coach at a high level. They have been at my side from the start providing me with all the tools I need to succeed and make sure our athletes our well taken care of. They have taken me along to national meets to learn at the highest level. Even as an athlete, Drew has gone to all of my Dr. appointments to make sure he fully understands how to program for my needs. They really go above and beyond to make sure our goals are met. This community that has been created has provided me with life long friends and support that I will always cheris. Come say Hi!
I love Olympic lifting. Project lift has great coaches, great programming and on top of all that they have great people. I’d highly recommend this gym.
Been lifting here for a year now Andy has been amazing. Great people, great atmosphere, and very knowledgeable coaches to help achieve your goals.
Really good place to work out and learn olympic lifting. Drew really cares about each athlete and tailors everything to help acheive their goals while prioritizing their health. I started going there to just learn about the olympic lifts and this place has only increased my interest in the discipline. If you are considering learning the lifts for the first time, there probably isnt a better place on the west side of Columbus/Hilliard area.
Excellent facility, excellent coaching - if youre serious about getting better at weightlifting either for competition or just crossfit, this would be great choice.
I have been attending lifting seminars with Drew before the days of Project Lift, we have also hosted seminars at LongRoad CrossFit where Drew was able to help our members tune in their Olympic Lifts. Although I coach hundreds of athletes weekely through Olympic lifting and CF movements, the crew at PL are always by go to people for programming to get myself ready for a Oly lifting meet or just an eye to clean up my lifts. Just this past year I was fortunate enough to work with Chelsea for 10 weeks in order to prepare for the state lifting meet. With her coaching, I was able to set 3 State Masters records. Awesome people... would recommend them to anyone looking to get into Olympic lifting or even take their lifts to the next level 🤘🏻
Stumbled upon this lifting gym from Drews articles and videos on Wodnation and starting following their free program before taking the plunge with remote coaching. Ive never looked back since. Drew, Chelsea and Tyler are the epitome of what coaching really is, which separates them from just ordinary trainers that you would often see in gyms these days. The fact that I can really connect with them on a personal level without actually having met them ever (but I really do hope to meet and train under them in person sometime soon) says a lot about their abilities (haha I really look forward to receiving emails from them!). They have been so patient and encouraging, despite my numerous questions, injuries and terrible lifting habits and always taking time to explain or clarify concepts. I think one thing that really stands out is the way they (esp Drew and Chelsea) care about their athletes, looking way beyond the numbers on the bar/chart to support them in their growth. I really cant thank them enough for being on this journey with me and look forward to continue growing with them and their community. Truly recommend this gym and coaching service to anyone who wants to fall in love with the whole art and craft of this sport.
The team here has put together an amazing gym.
Second strongest club in 2018. Nuff said!
Great group of coaches that get results
