Went to 2 different mechanics before I went here. The first 2 were able to properly diagnose the issue but didnt have the tools necessary to fix it. I was trying to avoid the dealership as they are known for overcharging. East Highland Auto Tech came highly recommended from 3 different individuals and now I know why. Thwy quickly got the issue fixed and the price was fair. Ill be returning for future car needs

For most of us our relationship with the mechanic is one of trust. They say, You need this done, so we trust them to be right. Do Not Trust this Mechanic!Took my car here just before Covid19 pandemic hit. They changed the valve gasket and changed the transmission fluid. Year and a half later, i had put under 10k miles on the car. They recommended that the gasket be replaced (which they did and would have charged me for, had I not pulled the paperwork from previously) and recommended that I change the transmission fluid. I pointed out that they had done the work previously and Roger, yelled at me that I didnt know what I was talking about and he was not against me. Defensive much? Perhaps you know that you are ripping people off? Recommending that they get services that they dont need?I will not be back, and i would recommend that you not go either.

I love this place. Its not big business. The owner is super nice. Cars arent my strong suite so I trust these guys with mine. If you treat them how we all deserve to be treated they will do you the same. Ive gone when they are really busy and the guy still took time to look over my car and give me a good idea what the problem was. This is my mechanic for any auto repairs except tires.I want to say their prices are fair.. Which they are. Just cars are not fair. Ive spent way too much money on repairs that I believe were due to intentional neglect or developmental flaws in the construction of the car. They get ya coming and going.. And then theres gas. Which price varies based on economic standing... I thought monopolies were illegal??

This place is AAA recommended. This shop refused to honor AAA discount. Old man behind counter is rude. Would not take vehicle there.

I will very likely be returning to this shop & would also recommend others to definitely give them a try. They truly seem like they are honest & professional.

After the horrible treatment we received from All-star Kia yesterday we went to East Highland Auto Tech. Even though they were busy they took care of our car and had it fixed within a few hours.

Thanks RICO!I sent him the check engine code that my obd-II scanner gave me the night before I dropped off my 2006 Lexus gx470. He had the parts that I needed priced out prior to my arrival. He also priced out the two extra parts that I most likely didnt need, but could replace as it would make sense to do if I were to replace said components. And he even gave me the option to go the cheap route and just bypass the failing emissions component (cuz we all know that stuff is unnecessary anyway). He let me know that he would call me later around noon after he had diagnosed it fully. He did exactly that. And it was as he predicted. The morning that I dropped it off, he mentioned that, should I decide to replace the parts, one of the parts wouldnt arrive until 4 days from then, and it was fine with him to leave my car there in the interim. I asked him if I could source the parts myself and still leave my car there, and he was absolutely cool with that, which Im sure most mechanics hate. I got the parts to him one day late even.

Rico and his staff did a great job on my 2012 Kia Optima they are honest fair and cut no corners as long as the they are there they have a life on a customer in me thanks guys

We are working with the mechanic shop, now they have been nothing but courteous, kind and understanding. Sometimes its worth to spend a little more to get comfort to know your car is going to be running well. Very knowledgeable mechanic knows what theyre doing if you look at my first review, I was very happy with him. The problems started when my husband picked up the car, the car was filthy, dirty, it was scratched up tools. Our car and left in the back seat a club cab was coming off, my husband had to put it on and then he got the car home, went to check the oil and the hood to open it with a broken. We have been playing phone tag since then. Also, the car had a full tank of gas when my husband put gas in it before the car broke down when he had to feel the car that had had hardly any gas in somebody took that car for a drive a long drive. Confused, frustrated, the man was pretty polite. But didnt communicate well, Ive put a complaint in against

This place used to be great before the owner decided to work the front desk. He doesnt listen, he forgets what model car you have within the same conversation, hes rude, and he upsells. He tried to tell me that I couldnt get pads, rotors, and calipers (front) for any less than $601. I said thats outrageous, I only had $500 for the job, and was quoted $390 by another shop down the road. Owner refused to sell me anything less than top of the line, even though working brakes are clearly better than no brakes. So now instead of $500 they get $0 and a bad review. Only go here if the owner, Roger, isnt there.

My father and I have been going here for 20+ years and never had a problem . Last month my father took his 2007 Honda Ridgeline to get his usual oil change done when the mechanic told him his oil pan was leaking. My dad tells him “that’s weird, it wasn’t leaking this morning” so he goes home and sees oil leaking on our drive way. We take it to Reid’s in Redlands and further inspection they tell us that the oil pan plug wasn’t tightened correctly and that they tightened it back up. I can’t believe they did this to us! Makes me wonder how many other times they lied to us and tricked us out of paying for parts and services we never needed. Shame on these mechanics and the business they run. They had a 20+ year loyal customer in their pocket. Thank goodness we finally found out what they are all about. Never will I ever go there again. I’m making it my mission to make it known they are not trustworthy and just crooks taking advantage of patrons.

TL:DR- Upsale on parts was pretty high (double, or close to, whats sold in NAPA or Autozone)- Friendly- Up-sale of additional fluid exchange services- Extended stay of vehicle (No appointment made however)- Fixed the problemArrived around 8:45 am via tow truck. After explaining what was wrong (bearing on water pump was shot enough to allow the pulley to flex and let my clutch fan rip apart the serpentine belt) receiving Service Rep put me down for a coolant pressure test. I asked him why he had put me down for a unnecessary pressure test when I just needed a new water pump, to which he stated it was just part of diagnostics and they needed to start somewhere.Got a call just about half way through the stay of the vehicle explaining they had found the problem, the bearing on the water pump had gone bad (which is what I initially told them was the issue). Was quoted prices for all the parts they wanted/needed to replace. I agreed to all but one, the Idler Pulley, as I had just replaced it myself roughly ~3 months prior. Service Reps explanation was that there was debris along the surface. Up-sale on the part was double what I paid retail. The debris was actually rubber from the serpentine belt, that had been destroyed earlier that morning, which could easily be removed with a razor blade. I had partially done so while waiting for the tow truck to pick me up.With no appointment, it took roughly ~8 hours to complete the job.When returning to pick up and pay for my Jeep, the Service Rep made a passing comment about me doing work under my own hood which bothered me.Service Rep mentioned that they did a veterans discount of 10% which was great. Showed the Rep an expired Military ID and he then proceeded to not give me the discount. I keep the ID in cases like this, where a discount is offered, but like most veterans I do not push the issue of getting a discount just because I am a veteran. So I didnt mention the discount after being presented full bill. Paid little over 400$ to change a water pump, serpentine belt, thermostat, antifreeze., and disposal fees.The above being said, they absolutely fixed the problem. Really nice to not hear that wonderful serpentine belt squeal. Though the comment about me doing work under my hood bothered me, Service Rep wasnt overly rude.Three stars as they met the minimum required service, fixing the problem.

Upsale, upcharge, high pressure, unnecessary repair at every opportunity. Funny thing is, this is a AAA recommended​ shop which destroyed my view of AAA recommendation.
