Email I sent to the company - My family and family friends went through the experience 7/13/21 and wanted to report our disappointment on several issues. I can respect your need to perform as a business especially after Covid but with the current drought the river, which is more of a creek, should not be used. At a minimum, the need to portage through the shallow water should be the priority in the discussions online and in-person for those that attend. The worst part was the attendant, when we checked in, mentioning that we would not need our water shoes. Without the shoes, the need to portage was all the more painful. We got through it, but under the circumstances, we will be posting a less than a positive review. Realizing we could be charged extra because we couldnt get through the river quickly was even more frustrating.7/21 edit - You are correct that we asked about water shoes in an email, but you are very wrong about your staff mentioning that waters shoes were not really needed. I cut my foot in the first 100 yards and after 9 miles of dragging the boat down the river it was miserable. Also to say that only the first 300 yards is shallow, and where you would need to pull the boat, is a complete lie.

It was 100+F out there but it was beautiful. I highly recommend the half day version. The whole day would have killed me. Nice staff. Peaceful Russian river. Stop along the way to swim or eat your lunch. A few rapids but nothing to worry about.

Hidden late fees on top of already pricey servicePrepare to pay $30 extra per person on top of the regular fees because it is very difficult to complete this course on time. And of course they dont tell you about those fees until you are actually there. The flow of the river is weak, probably due to drought, and gets progressively weaker especially in the last couple of miles. We decided to finish the last mile on foot wading through water because it was just easier vs rowing. In our group of about ten boats, literally nobody made it on time. And we had some pretty experienced people among us.Bottomline: this boating day was a lot of things but relaxed wasnt one of them.

These guys are awesome-I originally made a reservation for 10 for my group of friends, but, as we drew closer to the date, my slacker friends joined and we finally had a total of 15 people. This means I annoyingly called them and asked for additional spots 3 times. Because I made my original reservation far enough ahead, they were able to help accommodate. You show up (you can do half day or full day), sign waivers, get some wristbands, walk over, to the river (the meeting spot is about a 5 minute walk from launch), get a quick security chat and you launch. Theres only a couple of rules: they dont suggest going barefoot or wearing flip flops (probably for fear of glass or because youd lose it in the current) so make sure you wear those sandals that strap onto your feet. Also no glass (or at least try really hard not to bring any glass). We did the half day float which is about 4 miles, and it only took us 2 hours (we tried to go as slow as possible). So well probably go for the full day next year.If you have a group larger than 10 you can get group pricing $40/person. Make sure you book early though- they get very popular and book out early!

Staff is so awesome and friendly and very helpful as well. The only down part we went the last weekend in August and it was cold and cloudy until 1... So might want to keep an eye on the weather. BEST PART THEY ALLOW DOGS!

Took our large family to enjoy this going down the river.Check in was great. Rode in the shuttle after dropping off the jeep. Met our family back at the creek. They walked 5 minutes down the road from dropped off that morning. The owner gave a 15 minute safety brief. Then you start rowing and rowing and rowing. For the next 4 to 5 hours you will row and row and row. This is not a rapid riding adventure. If you want to row and row and row and pay $75 this is the place to go.So disappointed.Have done many rafting tours and this was the worst . Saw fish in the water but other than that, no wildlife as they proposed.Come from North Carolina and we know river rafting.

Had a fantastic experience with the crew at Russian River Adventures. Our friends booked a trip with them up in Healdsburg for an all day float with their inflatable canoes. Was my first time canoeing with my girlfriend so there was a bit of a learning curve, but the crew was awesome to explain everything and made sure we were all ready to go.They did everything to make sure we were comfortable an accommodated and they drove all of our gear down to the launch site for us and made sure we had everything we needed before we were on our way.The section of the river you float is beautiful and quiet. This years rain and snow meant that the river water level was higher than usual so we got down the river probably sooner than usual. We had plenty of time to stop and hang out and eat while we made our way down.Family friendly, dog friendly, just friendly in general. If you are looking for a great experience floating down the river I highly recommend this company and judging by all of the repeat customers it seems like others would recommend this place too.

It was a tough ride! The big rubber canoes are very difficult to maneuver, not much information provided by the adventure place that sets you in water and sends you off. We are experienced Kayakers (not white water) and were astonished at the difficulty of this trip. Its an ALL day and then some! The ride on the bus by the company back to the place of departure felt like we were on a roller coaster from hell! We felt blessed to be alive once we finally arrived to our cars!

We had a great team event here. The views were great along the river. A really mentally relaxing day with mild amounts of paddling.Lunch was included in our package. The sandwich was surprisingly filling and very satisfying. There are no food stops so bring food and drinks.

We had the BEST time canoeing down the Russian River with this company. The owner is SO friendly, and it is also very dog friendly. They put you in big rubber canoes that had enough room for our 75 lb dog to happily sit in either the front/middle/or back between us. We felt super comfortable with canoeing out on the water, but for anyone with little/no experience the owner is great at guiding you through what to expect and how to have fun. A great and relaxing way to spend the day. We will definitely be back!!! Could not recommend enough!

Loved this place! Great staff and a beautiful stretch of river. I really liked that you are allowed to bring a cooler along. Only reason I 4 starred it is because its a little pricey.

Excellent staff, and good organization (although you are requested to call them 1h before the end to pick you up and no one took my call, but no worries, you know there are here). Downside: the inflatable canoes are not easy and pleasant to row, and when you are a family of 4, you are assigned a big one instead of 2, which is less fun.

This place was excellent! My wife, 4 year old and yorkie floated for about 5 hours. Somehow we left our cooler and one employee brought it out to us. Calm and relaxing. Let me address the spam poster. The river seemed very clean. Not sure if this is every day but I saw tons of staff and volunteers picking up trash.

...and if I could give them more stars I would. My wife and I, along with our two children ended up falling out of the boat. The river was shallow enough that I was able to quickly rescue everyone :) However Larry and team where great! Initially to the rescue and even offered a full refund. Larry had very carefully and expertly explained the river, what to and how to do it. We are coming back when the kids are just a little older.

Not canoes, if you have experience with canoes throw it out the window. Not sure how these can even be considered canoes, I consider them skinny rafts. As an experienced canoe(er) I can say these rafts took more than twice the effort necessary, or more, to get where we were going. (As these were shallow conditions i acknowledge that it would take more experience to navigate this course, but I would take an aluminum/wood canoe over these half-raft contraptions any day.) Get out and walk the few shallows, need be, youll still be there an hour earlier.

Staff is terrible, one woman was super rude, she was screaming and yelling like a child their equipment is super faulty, our boat started leaking water. They put my two sons life at risk. I drove with my family all the way from Oregon, I would never in a million years comeback here, not sure who owns this company or how long they been in business, but the city of Healdsburg needs to shut them down, if this review can prevent a single person from coming here then I have done my job, bunch of incompetent individuals who have no idea how to run a business, and what they don’t tell you is the river your rafting on is composed of 90% mud, and 10% sewer water, which is of course supplied by Russian river adventures, save your money go somewhere else in Healdsburg. As you can tell by the owners response they don’t care, wicked Amy’s is located right by the river the kids loved their drinks, we got food at Healdsburger loved the place, do not take your family members to the adventures of death. I plan on posting this review across social media.

I ordered and Paypal’d for a replacement seat for my Soar 16. I received a confirmation e-mail that the order was paid in full and that the item was to ship ASAP with 2 day mail service. After 2 weeks I called to inquire about the order and was told that it had not shipped because they wanted my personal name vs business name and shipping address. When I asked why they needed that I was told “For their edification” ... I am a small business person myself and have never heard of anything as ridiculous as refusing to ship to a PayPal certified business address. .... **** UPDATED *** .... I was refunded my money as well as having a free seat shipped to me. It was a bit late for my river trip, but was a very gracious act on their part. In spite of this issue I still love my Soar 16 and recommend the product to anyone looking for a high quality inflatable river boat.
