Staff was very good and helpful. Gave us clear instructions and sent us on our way. The pontoon we had was roomy and very nice. The motor on the pontoon was a beast. We put the tubes we rented from them to good use.
Perfect day on the water! All around wonderful experience with Great River Boat Rental. We will absolutely be back - Thanks for a day we wont soon forget - Jay & family
***WORST PLACE EVER !*** Horrible service. The manager is extremely rude and inconsiderate. Super strict. Expects the boat to be brought back in spotless condition. Even took a picture of the motor, before we left, and threatened us to have it back in pristine condition. Had the worst and most sarcastic tone of voice towards me and my whole entire family. I have never been so disrespected in my whole entire life. When we returned, she laughed in our face and found every reason to charge us more money. They then proceeded to kick us off of their dock. Asked her how much the damages would be and she simply said she did not know, except for the fact that it would be expensive (in an extremely rude tone). How could you not know? Youre the manager and, surely, boats have come back in less than perfect condition before? I will never return to this place and will tell everyone I know to never come here. Everyone has bad days, but no one should treat their paying customers like this. ***AVOID COMING TO THIS PLACE !***
Where to even begin... First off I booked my reservation and due to the bad weather the day of my rental someone contacted me at Great River Boat Rental stating due to the weather I had to change the day which I absolutely agreed with. Once the date was changed I was charged the $50.00 fee which I didnt agree with at all since THEY CALLED ME to reschedule, I didnt ask to be rescheduled. Then on the day of the rental they force you to use a Credit Card to hold the $500.00 damage deposit, they apparently dont take Debit cards to do this which makes no sense if your debit card has well over $500.00 on it why does it NEED to be a credit card? Then to continue they never explained which side of the buoy we needed to be on, and for someone who has never rented a boat before that would have been HELPFUL information. They also never informed us of any places to avoid i.e. rocky areas, low water etc. We were enjoying ourselves and was trying to find a place to tube when we hit some rocks and completely damaged the propeller. I immediately called them (2:30PM) to tell them we would need a tow and the response I got waswe will try and send someone and I never heard from anyone again. THANKFULLY good Samaritans helped us tow the boat to the T.I. slip. I called them again and told them we found someone to tow us and to meet us at the slip. The first thing the worker said to me was Jackie, didnt I tell you not to go over that way? My response NOPE YOU DEFINITELY DIDNT! Then he proceeds to tell me it will take an HOUR until he reaches us. Once he meets us at the T.I. Slip he replaces the propeller which takes LESS then 5 minutes and we get charged the FULL $500.00 damage deposit. A Propeller doesnt cost ANYWHERE near $500.00 and the worker spent a total of FIVE MINUTES changing the part. This place is a complete joke, I would never ever recommend anyone to rent a boat from here. If I could have given them 0 stars I most definitely would have.
They got new boats this year, and they are great. Ours had a kicker sound system, and it was really easy to hook the phone up through the Bluetooth. It makes the whole experience better than the boats they used to have, which didnt have that feature. This is a great way to get out on the St. Croix for a day. Unfortunately, the day we went the weather was pretty cool. But I dont think I can take off a star for that. :)
Rented a pontoon this Sunday. Really, really nice boat. The lady who checked us in was friendly enough, just make sure you get there early because there is a substantial amount of paperwork. It kind of bothered me that there were 2 dock boys just sitting on their phones in the boathouse while the lady who checked us in, who had a broken foot no less, was running around in 5 different directions.
Just called to ask if they rent canoes. Didnt hear options and the AUTOMATED line said to hit star to listen to them again. I hit star and it just kept asking for me to hit star. My bf and I thought it was funny but also really dumb. Im going somewhere else. Just a tip for business; NO AUTOMATED ANDWERING MACHINES. Whenever I hear a machine my first reaction is to hang up.
Excellent experience with Great River Boat Rentals! The staff was very helpful and prompt. The rebtal process was very thorough and explained clearly. The pontoon boat that we rented for the day was clean and well maintained, we didnt have any problems. The rental price for the day was very reasonable and well worth it. We had a great family day out on the St. Croix river! Will rent from them again and highly rrecommend them!
The man running the place was so rude, I really couldnt believe it. He swore at us and at his helpers.. his young helpers/employees said he always yells at them and wont let them help him. He told us our money means nothing to him, it was the last straw for me and we had to leave after so much disrespect from him after we did nothing, only want to rent a boat from him! Horrible service!!
It was such a horrible experience. Cant explain it. Rude people all around. Rude workers and manager. My last time and only time here.
Rediculosuly expensive!
Great people, great boats, great memories
