Staff was very helpful and so happy to be able to use the facility

Attended the Sunday 10:00 AM Zumba class. Staff at front desk were welcoming and the class was invigorating but easy to follow. Facilies were very clean.

I love to do my work out at the YMCA very clean friendly staff I will recommend.. any one 👍👍

Love this venue. Awesome equipment. Awesome staff. Awesome amenities. Overall the best Y Ive ever been at for a longshot. Definitely recommended.

This facility is much cleaner than other YMCA branches which Ive been to in the past. Even before the pandemic, it was always a very clean, well-operated gym. Now, during the actual Covid 19 pandemic though, theyve taken cleaning to a whole new level. It seems like at least a couple times per hour, I notice at least one staffer doing something to clean. Whether its wiping down the most frequently touched surfaces and counters where people go the most, or disinfecting the equipment, theres always someone cleaning something. Ive been to other branches before of the YMCA that dont observe this same level of cleanliness. And let me just tell you that it makes a world of difference when you can go into a nice clean gym facility, without having to worry about germs or now, getting deathly sick from a pandemic! Its been almost 3 years since Ive been a member here, and I have no plans of going back to the other branch on Albany Avenue which I used to frequent. Plus the staff here are always super helpful, accommodating, and pleasant. The pool could be a bit deeper, but thats really the only downside. Everything else so far has been great!

While the hours of operation could be extended beyond 9pm, this Y is superb! Centrally located! Excellent facilities! Courteous, caring and competent staff! Great group exercise etc. classes. +++++++Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mouthwash, lotion and even cotton-tips--- all provided at no extra charge! Overall unbeatable combo!

The very BEST! A Great place to go. You feel very welcomed and are treated as one should be treated! We cant wait to come back to the Downtown YMCA!! My son doesnt stop asking when were going back! Thank you for having such a great establishment!

Best gym Ive ever been to. Honestly they care so much and theyre very careful with cleanliness.

Facility is very clean, with friendly staff. My daughter participates primarily in the swim classes. She was very apprehensive on her first day but the coach was patient with her.

This is the on of best “ForProfit” gyms I have been too in a while. The YMCA has never really been a good gym compared to others I have been. But I was extremely impressed with the cleaning schedule and new equipment. Granted the HQ is right above the gym I would expect this to be there flagship gym. Highly suggest anyone to check it

Downtown YMCA is a gem. The open floor plan has multiple sections of excessive equipment. You will be greeted at the front entrance by a friendly staff that will offer you a work out towel as well as shower towel. This is a service that continues from the original YMCA that was nestled next to Bushel Park. Nice to see quality and class at a gym. Spin classes are great but times are minimal. Workout machines are modern and the free weight area is just right. You can park in the garage directly behind the YMCA and get your parking ticket stamped for a discounted rate for two hours time. Well worth the trip.

The woman at the desk on Sunday June 22nd was so explanatory and Very welcoming! Its a very Comfortable place. I got lost because of the size of the place but there were people there to actually walk is to our destination. Which was nice! Id love to return because we had so much fun!!!

Facility well kept, cleaned frequently. Staff friendly. Feels like community.

Good gym facilities and services, it has a great indoor swimming pool with heated water in winters, this facility includes hot tub, sauna and its well maintained, staff if friendly.They do have swimming lessons for beginners.If you are living in downtown area and you can walk its good else you have to pay for parking!!!

We comes here every weekend we love it and staff are very friendly to my daughter. My only complaint is park lots.

The downtown YMCA is located on State street. Dont expect on street parking unless you are very early in the morning or later in the evening. The parking garage is convenient and close by and you have a 2 hour $2 window to get your workout in. After the 2 hours it is standard parking rate. Much of this location is under renovation so you will have to be patient. Also the womens locker room is not as clean and well kept as it used to be, heres hoping that I was there on off days.

I have been going to this gym for close to 2 years now. Nice updated facility overall. I wish the free weights area is larger with more benches.

I travel a lot as a consultant and have been to YMCA’s all over the country. This has to be one of the best I’ve seen! It is very modern,very clean and has just about everything you need: pool, great cardio and weight area plus boxing area, open space for sprints, agilities, etc all very modern and nice. Staff is very helpful. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is parking is a bit difficult but otherwise this place is great!

Well-kept workout facilities with friendly staff suitable for a wide range of fitness levels. Not a ton of gym Bros. The workout facilities can be crowded during peak hours, but there are plenty of equipment and rarely waits. No gymnasium for basketball; Wilson Gray branch has basketball a mile away.

Great gym but some bad policies. I don’t like the fact that you can’t record video on your phone or use your phone in the locker room. Some of the staff are cool and some are not.

My experience has been positive. I enjoy their amenities such as, steam room, towel service etc. I wish the sauna would be hotter but its ok. I also would like to see the steam room a bit more sparkly clean. Overall its clean and spacious and the Equipment looks new. The staff not impressive but not disappointing. I am thankful to have this Y in my area. Thank you.

Its well running YMCA.Im missing sauna and other facilities but we have Corona....

The gym is decent, but it does get crowded quickly. It is missing some machines that other gyms in the area have, but it is very conveniently located to my job. If i worked somewhere else i most likely wouldn’t come to this gym.

Best place in town. Regular spin classes are good, except the Thursday class where youre supposed to lift weights while spinning, which I really dont like.

Loved the convenience of working out during lunch. The gym is just perfect, the classes are excellent and so are the instructors, up to date cardio and weight equipments. The laundry staff is the best especially Carl.

Great gym. Very friendly staff. Only thing is they need to maintain the equipment better some machines are very rusty

Today was the first time Ive ever gone to Downtown YMCA. I was blown away at how beautiful the inside is!! Everyone there was so nice and the people at the front desk was so kind and helpful. Great atmosphere and very encouraging!!

The best gym!We have a pool, whirlpool, sanua, and steam room.Great well trained staff with classes to boot.

Still one of the no. 1 Health and exercise Facilities in the nation very cordial and friendly. I remember being going as a young adult 50 years ago. God Bless the Y. MCA

Very lovely YMCA very friendly people I was there on business out of town thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Hartford Connecticut and at this YMCA

I used to love going to this YMCA it was convenient to work but now half of their showers dont work, the steam room doesnt work, the whirlpool is lukewarm most of the time or broken, the elevator doesnt work Im a person with a disability. I am unable to walk down the stairs so its pointless for me. And of course theres no parking so I was paying for parking but now theres no perks.Too bad because I really liiked the convenience of proximity to work.

. I really enjoy working out at the downtown YMCA in Hartford. It has all the equipment you need for a total body workout.

I was sleeping on the Y because of past experiences at other Ys. I just joined the Y to take swimming classes and I was blown away by how dope this gym is. I have 3 gym memberships (dont ask me why)and the Y is the best, periodt.

Didnt like it. They were cleaning up after a water pipe broke. Elevator did not work3 flights of stairs and because of my knees I have problem going down. Im sure once they fix everything from the water damage it will be a lot better.

The staff there is friendly and helpful. There is plenty of equipment to assist you achieve your fitness/wellness goals, and the locker room is good too.

No assigned parking. Have to park on the street or pay $2 to park in the garage next door. Other than that, really clean and chill

I love going to the Y but I hate paying for parking. Its discounted but none the less. I guess it equals paying this annual fee most of the other gyms charge. I wish they added more boot camp classes at an earlier time. Im usually done at the gym by 5pm but class starts at 5:30pm.

The Footlights Program is a great place for kids to learn and grow. With a great staff working to achieve each Child goals in education.

2 flat benches, a single pair of dumbbells per weight, 1 set of cables, 2 squat racks, 1 Smith machine... 1500 treadmills. Closes at 1 on Saturdays... Brilliant
