On June 23, 2021, I dropped my 2008 Gateway desktop computer at Manny & Company store, 510 Park St., Hartford, CT 06106 as per prior telephone agreement with their computer technician Alex for two upgrades as follows: installing Windows 7 (replacing the factory installed Windows Vista); adding a new 1000 GB memory card since there was just a little free memory left on the main C disk drive. My computer was working fine as it was with Windows Vista and it only needed the above mentioned upgrades that are not classified as repair by any definition (for which Manny charges a $30 diagnostic fee if the computer is repaired to customers satisfaction). I paid on the spot a deposit down of $64 cash out of $212 total quoted and agreed for the two upgrades. On June 28, 2021, the technician called me saying that my computer is ready for pickup. About 15 minutes later I was there and saw on the screen Starting Windows instead of the desktop image. Asking the technician why the computer failed to boot he responded as follows: Youre an impatient person, also asked me to pay the balance of $158 to that to take the computer home and test it for functionality, what I did giving him $160 cash (waving to $2 on my will), cash that I withdrew from the nearby Webster bank branch on Park Street. After bringing the computer home the nightmare started as follows: the computer went into the BIOS mode with option to select either Windows Vista or Windows 7 that none was available since Vista was uninstalled and the Windows 7 was not properly installed, so not working. Complaining about this, the technician instructed me to bring the computer back to store, assuring me that in a few days it will be working fine with absolutely no issues. Two days later, on June 30, 2021, I called the technician who assured me that the computer is now working fine with Windows 7, so I went to the store and saw the same Starting Windows on screen. Complaining about this that it was kind of a nasty joke, the technician offered me a refund of $64 only saying that this is the amount I paid instead of $212 as confirmed Paid In Full on 6/28/2021 he entered by hand on the sales receipt. At that point I told Alex that In this case I will have no choice but suing Mannys store in the small claims court, also I asked him to see the stores owner who are actually co-owners husband (Manny) and wife (unknown first name). Manny refused to speak with me while his wife along with her husband and Alex went inside an adjacent room for about 10 minutes while I was waiting in the computer repair area. Coming out from that meeting, Alex confirmed that he was wrong and that in fact I paid a total of $212 that should be refunded to me and that the refund would be promptly made by the lady co-owner who said that she could only give me $182 out of $212 since $30 must be deducted for diagnostic fee that I normally and justifiably opposed since the computer was rendered unusable, so I shouldnt pay any diagnostic fee as per stores policy. After dropping my computer in my car I returned to Manny store telling the lady co-owner that I decided to accept $182 as fa favor so that to avoid the court action. She responded that this option is no longer available while yelling at me Get out! and go to court (that I am planning to do so in the near future). In closing - and apologizing for the too long review - I can say that Manny & Company: 1. is not a reliable store being owned by two mean, arrogant, incompetent, dishonest, repulsive and lying persons; 2. that the two co-owners will do everything to take your money even though for a poor, unacceptable or failed computer job; 3. that their computer technician Alex is simply an incompetent, inexperienced, and unskilled person who shouldnt be allowed to do such job; 4. will more than likely refuse to refund your money for a failed electronics job that is similar to stealing money from you. Beware and stay away from this Mannys store. Just walk on the other sidewalk. I wish I could give them a minus 5-star reputation grading.
I went to fix my screen and they made it worse not only did they make it worse they did not communicate with the situation of my phone. they did such a poor job do not go here to fix a phone screen

I went in to Mannys to drop off a 1 day air package for a UPS pick up in the snow storm on Feb 1, 2021 and the package was at the destination the following day to Roseville, CA. Mannys store was clean and the employees were very nice!

New model Laptop brought in for repair with the Manny store computer repairman. He was constantly talking to other customers or answering his cellphone after he had already had begun to wait on me. Estimated repair time was two weeks, but it took 8 weeks plus 24+ phone calls to finally arrage a day to pick up the laptop laptop. I arrived and he was a no show, thus I drove a total of 1Hr+30min. for nothing. Finally the laptop was returned. We tried to use It, but it was frozen on a page that made it impossible to access anything. Fourth trip back to same store ... should I charge for gas money? Finally he restored the laptop to a functioning state. During the 30 minutes he worked on the laptop, he continuously stated that there was nothing wrong with it anyway. Good luck to Mr. Cash Upfront Only.

Had my phone sent here because it’s a UPS access point after ordering it online but missed the UPS delivery. I called after I got notified both through T-Mobile and UPS that they delivered it to their front desk and left me their location. I don’t know the woman’s name but when I called and explained to her my phone was sent there and asked if she could please confirm that it was there before I drove over she said “Oh my god I don’t have time to be looking for your phone right now I’m too busy, you need to come yourself and see if it’s here”. After that I ended up driving over because I obviously had no other option and when I got there everyone there said they never got any phones in and even showed me their “shipment receiving chart” and said they would call if it ever showed up. I decided to call UPS themselves because I didn’t trust the workers and UPS said their delivery driver delivered it at the exact time I was notified and said a Manuel received it. Currently UPS and both T-Mobile are starting an investigation to see how they magically didn’t receive the $1,000 iPhone. I will be updating this review later on.
Lots of different departments in one space. Each department handles its own customer service. Parking in the back of the building they have a partial gated lot with a rope chain to close up if they use the rope chain ? I dont no. I only go there during business hours. Mannys dose not sell printers. I am a returning customer. I recommend you do your due dillegence for purchases. Mannys repairs trouble shoots, and you have to ask for more youre self. Accross the street just on the corner is a pizza restaurant. Hmmmm i could go for a bite.

The older Hispanic gentleman wouldnt look for my packages, yelled in my face even though I had proof they were delivered there. After I asked multiple employees to look he told me he would call the police on me. Ive never been treated so rude in my life and every time someone goes in there for packages theres a problem or it never was delivered they say. This is the most unprofessional UPS ACCESS POINT Ive ever seen!
Out of the blue, laptop stopped charging. Have “onsite next day” service plan with Dell but they insisted on me mailing in my laptop (1-2 weeks!! Their service dept has proved useless over multiple instances.). Came into Manny’s at 4p on a Saturday and he fixed it in no time for a very reasonable cost SAME DAY! I will definitely be using him going forward!
Brought in a motherboard I was having an issue with. He spent 15-20 minutes assisting me. The board was dead (as I thought) and he confirmed this. He didnt charge me anything for his time. Ill definitely go back again when I need help.
They will steal your UPS packages and say they never received them. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this happened more than once. The employee told me I had NO packages. After begging him to look he magically found 2. If I hadn’t repeatedly asked him to look, I would’ve walked out with NO packages. Terrible customer customer service for package pick up.

I hardly ever do this but the level of ignorance needed to be known, I went there with the hopes of getting an answer to a simple question I had about a service they had rendered me, I went hoping Manny was there but there was a short hispanic gentleman that name was on the flyer that took care of me, He did nothing but be extremely loud the whole time also very rude did not let me get a word in just got louder and louder as I was trying to ask my questions. What a disaster and the worst customer service I have ever had he belongs NOT in customer service because of him I would NEVER go back there again and I will for sure make it a point to pass the word. HORRIBLE SERVICE
I have taken my computer here a few times to be checked out and have always been treated fairly and with respect. I never once questioned that my belongings were mishandled and I will be coming here again if I ever run into another computer problem. The prices are reasonable and the customer satisfaction is what you would expect with someone handling your expensive investment. I would recommend to anyone who needs any computer issues resolved.

We had a problem with our new Lenovo Ideapad P400. A couple of days after we received it, my 2-year-old son had 5 minutes alone with it and immediately managed to pull 5 keys out of the keyboard!! We managed to put four of them back in, but part of the plastic holding the fifth was broken in the process.After checking another place and failing to find a replacement for the broken plastic carriage, we went to Mannys and it was a totally different experience.Robert was very courteous, friendly, and professional. He took a good look at it, and told us that its okay and he could fix it. He attached it the correct way, and then managed to glue the broken part although it was very delicate (probably 2 mm or less) without gluing the button itself and impairing its mobility and function. And he did that in less than 15 minutes all in all.I write this to acknowledge his flexible repair skill, and also to repay his favor, since he refused to take any money for this task that he felt was little.To us, however, this saved us about $90 to get a used replacement keyboard! It also saved us spending further time and effort on this irritating issue.
