I was there for 90 days in 2007 that place was a joke they almost let me die I couldn’t walk one day and woke out of my sleep with severe pain and a softball lump on my stomach and the nurse told me to take ibuprofen and sleep lol I made them take me to the hospital and the doctors told me if I listened to the nurse there I would have died because my appendix was ready to burst. Then they punished us by turning our family visitors away and the food was nasty and the building was falling apart and was haunted lol and people were leaving and running because the upstairs had bed bugs nasty place

Keona Simpson, Program Director, refused to sign me out for work because I didnt attend a mandatory group. Long story short, I was charged with Disorderly Conduct and taken to the Dauphin County Prison Central Booking Center. Before the police took me and another resident, the police refused to take our side of the story and sided with the Director. As much as I respected the staff there and mostly stayed out of the way, they officially kicked me out. The police complaint stated that I was kicking furniture, throwing water bottles and making threats towards staff, which did not happen and I intend on proving that in court.Bottom line is that I would recommend getting out of there as soon as humanly possible because they will make your life a living hell.

I did my first semester of internship here. The conditions they have the patients live in are horrendous. None of the counselors are licensed, and when I tried to report the many unethical instances I and another classmate witnessed during our semester here, I was told the state could not do anything. Sometimes I observed the counselors sessions, and witnessed one of the counselors talking about how to do fetanyl. The group therapy sessions were a joke. I interned here for about 2.5 months. A client of mine, who was not ready to be discharged, was discharged simply because my internship ended. I would not recommend this place to anyone, as there is no therapeutic value, and in my opinion is very detrimental to potential recovery.

This is the worst halfway house I have ever seen. The way they treat the people there is horrible. They’re humans trying to make their lives better and this place pushes them the wrong way..by the way if they want to see their children they get short passes even if their families live far away. not to mention the building is falling apart either

As the newer Program Director at the Siena House AOD program, I can say that I have had my share of challenges. Throughout the time in my leadership role things have changed significantly, and for the better. Lets get things straight - I am currently a Student Doctor pursuing my Doctor of Social Work. I am a Widener University Master of Social Work Graduate, and a Licensed Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I also have my MBA, and am Certified in Moral Reconation Therapy. My programs clinical staff consist of 4 Master level therapist, several Bachelor level clinicians and a Certified Recovery Specialist, and all are very qualified and provide an excellent service. We all provide an excellent service to the clients, providing holistic therapies to meet the needs of the diverse client-base. No program is perfect but we provide something no other agency in our area can provide. When reading the reviews, please consider the source. Please support our program so that we can continue to support you and your family and friends in their time of need.Sincerely,Daniel Alvalle

Counselor Ernstine is the most unprofessional unqualified individual I think I ever met.maybe the Burger King down the road is hiring.its scary that she is allowed to work with human beings.also I had to call the police while I was in this facilty.Henry the staff violated my hippa rights.not to mention all of the prea complaints on staff here. Be aware you are walking into a toxic living sittuation.ATTENTION :it would be a good idea if director Daniel looked into the burger king situation aswell. They are hiring.

Horrible service!!!! The person who answered clearly has no education. Not sure they even graduated high school. Incredible rude and no manners. Clearly this place only wants insurance money.

The staff here is horrible. They don’t know what they are doing and obviously don’t communicate well with each other between houses. When told something would be held at 1pm and then randomly gets pushed the whole way back to 2pm when they told you to be there at 1, especially when you have a long drive just to get here makes me extremely agrivated. And then they told me the person I was looking for wasn’t even here. When I can clearly see him in the window ya obviously don’t even know who you are taking care of..... that is really professional!

Lazy unprofessional staff who have no respect and will put you in harms way because they expect you to do their job with no regard for your personal safety. Everyone that works there would be better suited for a job at McDonalds.

I live here currently. There is lead paint, mold and mildew everywhere. There’s jagged rusty metal in the yard. The place garnishes wages yet they receive food bank food to feed us. The food is slim pickings and tasted disgusting. Parolees are forced to work in the kitchen for no pay. The meats are left out in the open all night and day to thaw. This place is a nightmare, I’m considering going back to prison.

Absolutely horrible!!! first, the building should be condemned because it is falling in on itself. They made small repairs here and there but the building is still unsafe to live insecondly, They have a problem with workers stealing money and items from the parolees. There was a huge problem with Embezzlement and now they are taking portions of parolees paychecks to make up for the lost sum. Thirdly, they are hardly feeding anyone in there. My boyfriend gets a slice of cheese between two pieces of bread, a juice box and a bag of chips for dinner. WHAT THE HELL. Not even a child can survive off that! Expecially a full grown man who is sick! you would think that if they are living there they should eat better not to mention they are funded through the state! Fourthly, Some of the black and muslim employees are racists and do whatever they can to get parolees in trouble! or are mean and spiteful and try to take leisure passes away. The parolees are afraid to say anything for fear of retaliation! Your not allowed to phones with cameras and if your caught, they keep your phone and then make it their obligation to go through ALL of your personal pictures, videos, texts and emails on it and share with all the house managers. I am surprised no one has filed a civil suit for invasion of privacy against them!! I can honestly see why some criminals go back to their ways, it seems like once your down thats where you stay!! More then half of parolees there obsconde because of how horrible the conditions are and how horrible they are treated. This program offers no help whatsoever to these parolees to get back on their feet And harrisburg parole is just as bad! most except for a very few agents are heartless, uncaring and unsympathetic of a parolees needs.
