Called about my ex-wife whos disabled and homeless but was turned away because of my ex-wife being in Adams County and York County doesnt want to risk potential exposure to the COVID-19 Pandemic.Turning away a homeless disabled woman who is guaranteed to die of hypothermia is less of a risk to their health than a possible exposure to a virus.I was raised that religions were compassionate to their fellow person if this is religious compassion Id rather be an Atheist.

I help cook for the homeless and we got new stoves. The kitchen has been cleaned thanks to Joan who runs the Council of Churches.

I checked in this place and in less then 8 hours of being there I had to check out because the staff were keeping me up and I couldnt get sleep for work. I lost my job the next day as a result and they kicked me out. There was a major bedbug body lice and cockroach infestation there also. The place and staff are diagusting people.

This place is a joke they are not Christian by no means don’t let them fool you. If you need help they act like they will help you but they really don’t. The person that runs the place Carol Hinkle only thinks of herself. If you plan to donate here don’t send it over to New Hope or Community Aid you will be happier to know your donation went to a place that really helps people!!

This place is a great place that helps low income people with food, clothing, and resources to get help for the situation which they find their selves in... I have volunteered to help at PAL lunch before and occasionally I work upstairs sorting through the clothes thats donated...On Tuesdays the clothes are given free to clients and on Thursdays 9 am to 12 pm the clothing is sold to the public at very, very low prices...All money earned from these sales are used to buy socks, underwear, and necessitys that are not donated... Currently, there is a huge need for volunteers upstairs to hang and sort clothes Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays 9am to 1pm...If interested knock on the front door and tell them your here to volunteer working in the clothing bank... Pleasant atmosphere, air conditioned, you can volunteer as few or many hours as you want...

Would not recommend this shelter to my worst enemy me and my one year old daughter stayed for a month was like hell there spose to be Christian but are very ignorant to clients idk how many times I got written up for stupid thing by Karen she is the worst person in there she writes ppl up left and right just because she can and while having a house meeting I was told that I need to make my 1 year old sit and be quiet before I got in trouble how r u to make a 1 year old child sit still n be quiet then they claim to be the best shelter around Pennsylvania but from my experience Scapp shelter is the best shelter there is they actually care about u n ur family they work with you and actually help you get into your own place and reach out to you after you leave so if anyone is in need of shelter I would definitely recommend Scapp shelter

My dear friend in need with a 9 yr child was kicked out because she wasnt in at 9 but she works 3rd shift starts at 9:30 pm u explain how she can be there and work these ppl are disrespectful and ride not mention the cesspool of drug addicts drunks and tricks that come here and treated as if they were exempt from rules i would say it more of a rehab for a few days rather than a helping loving facility how do u throw out a woman and child who just was in a bad situation working trying to help herself smh
