Lived in apartment for 3 years. Moved out and was charged $300 for professional carpet cleaning and another $100 dollars for cleaning. Carpet was not damaged and even though they changed the carpets, they still charged for professional carpet cleaning. Pictures they provided for reason for cleaning fee showed normal wear-and-tear such as rusting on a fake stainless steel toilet flushing handle, dust on the baseboard, and rusting on the coil of electric burner which are normal wear-and-tear when you buy cheap appliances and product. It is clear that this company makes a living trying to take advantage of their tenants especially when your contract ends. They do everything they can to not return your security deposit in whole. This is the first time I have ever not received my security deposit completely.If you are looking for a company that would not be available when you need them, not reliable, not inform you when theres a change in phone #, management or office or blame you for any possible thing that could happen and dont want to get your security deposit back, then proceed with renting from Burkentine. Otherwise, stay clear from my opinion.
Rip off. Don’t waste your time. There’s so much better. Over charge for cheap quality. Forgot 3 mini command hooks to hang your keys up and got charged $50 for them to pull the strip to unstick it from the wall. $350 to paint the home when we moved out even tho they do that no matter how the condition (which by the way was still perfectly fine when we left), “house cleaning and carpet cleaning” almost $600. Let’s say total security deposit was $2,000 and we got not even $200 of that back for no reason. I don’t blame the maintenance and cleaning guys at all for it, because one of them even told me they have no idea what they charge for what they do. I told him and he said “no wonder why they have such bad reviews”. Lastly, the very first day we moved in, the shower leaked thru the floor and left a puddle in the living room which made the cheap flooring start to lift, the fire alarms would go off randomly for no reason and had to have someone come out and change them all out because the carbon ones were in the wrong spot than where they should have been, and our water heater took a dump the first month we were there and they never could fix it.
Our oven glass shattered on Mother’s Day. It’s was the craziest thing but Mike V. called and made sure everyone was ok before coming over to assess the issue. Everything as cleaned up and replaced quickly. Great service!
Mike Vonstaden replaced my AC this morning. Punctual, profession and efficient. I’d expect nothing less from Mike. I was relieved when I learned he was the technician who was servicing my home.

Mike Von Staden was wonderful. He had to replace the microwave that had broken. He was kind and courteous. It was done in no time.
Brad Topper-came in and fixed our sink. He did an awesome job. He was punctual and professional as we got down to what the issue was! It took him no more than thirty minuted to return our sink to working order! Awesome job!
Great place to live. Norma is sweet. Had the pleasure of meeting Scott (maintenance supervisor) today, he is really nice and polite. I have no complaints. I plan on being here until I am ready to purchase a home.
I have enjoyed dealing with Burkentine Property Management for my move to the area, especially Macy. She helped me find a rental that suited my needs in a weeks time and has been there to answer my questions promptly. They made my move pretty painless and any service I have needed on the townhouse has been down within the next business day. I will be using them for my next rental.

I began renting from Burkentine in April of 2020. Overall, I have been satisfied with my experience and would consider recommending Burkentine to potential renters.I worked directly with Macy McClain (Carr). She was kind, professional, responsive, and remained very patient while I asked many questions as a first time renter. She was incredibly thorough in her walkthrough, and she gave me multiple copies of all documents/agreements to ensure there were no issues or misinterpretations. She quickly addressed the concerns I had during the walk-through, and had a maintenance person out that same week to take care of all of my problems. She continues to answer my questions, address my concerns, clarify policies, and she always makes herself available no matter the day or time. She has checked in multiple times just to make sure that I am satisfied. She made the stressful process of renting during the COVID-19 pandemic a breeze.While Macy has been my primary point of contact, I will say that everyone that I have worked with has been kind, courteous, and timely in response. There was an incident where Burkentine failed to pay their portion of the pro-rated water bill. With one phone call the matter was handled at no expense or hassle to me. They were apologetic for the error and assured me it would not happen again.The townhome itself (Beechwood area) is very spacious. The appliances are updated, the flooring is beautiful, and the layout is convenient. Parking is sufficient. We feel as though some items were poorly built: the screens do not fit the windows resulting in large gaps, the wooden bases on the cabinets are loose, the door stoppers continuously fall out, there are smalls cracks allowing for entry of ants and other pests, and the carpet seams are visible in multiple places throughout the townhome. Otherwise, we have no complaints.We do have some issues with some of the recent policies...1. The no decorations outside the home came as quite a shock during the 2020 Christmas season. Many had already put their Christmas Decorations up when they received a paper notice stating that they could be fined or potentially evicted if they did not take them down. Burkentine later recanted this policy, but many were too frustrated to put their decorations back up. This did dampen the holiday spirit in the neighborhood, and we felt the communication could have been much smoother for such a harsh policy.2. We recently got a notice stating that if there is dog/animal feces in our yard, then we are responsible for picking it up, even if we do not have a pet. We share the opinions of others when we say that this only encourages irresponsible pet owners to allow their pets to go in the yards of others and not clean up. We should not be penalized when we do not have pets. I think Burkentine should explore alternatives to this policy as to not penalize those who are responsible/do not have pets.Otherwise, we are satisfied with our current situation at Burkentine, and we do intend to renew our lease for another year. It is affordable for the size, and we are near all of the important areas in town. The grounds are well maintained during the summer and they are quick to plow in the winter. The maintenance staff that I have worked with have been phenomenal.I would highly recommend working with Macy if you plan to rent from Burkentine.

I have read some of the reviews and was somewhat surprised by a few of them. I was fortunate to be able to live in Southwest Crossing for the last two years. My neighbors were nice, pleasant and I never had an issue with anyone. The office team were professional, understanding and possessed a level of communication that was highly responsive, respectful and very consistent. It came at a time in my life where those attributes and considerations were absolutely needed and, for that, Im not quite sure what the appropriate words are nor my ability to phrase them well enough to properly describe my positive experience.If anything can be said, it should be centered around my kindest regards and appreciation for all of the Burkentine team. Bryan and his rental team were excellent to work with during our entire renting experience with Burkentine. We rented while we worked to sell our house and then moved into a beautiful, new townhouse. We were very happy to move into a clean and well kept rental unit. If you are looking to rent or purchase, I highly recommend doing so with Burkentine!
We rented from this company for a year now. Before he moved in there were some things we needed fixed. They fixed them to our satisfaction. We have had no issues since. The home is perfect for us.

They did a great job at providing us what they had in Hanover, PA. We applied and were approved right away. Issues we had were taken care of right away and the home was perfect before we moved in.
Do not rent from this company. At first my experience was wonderful. The owner and family staff were great, very helpful. Then a new property manager was hired, Sandra. She is very rude and does not consider the well being of their tenants. I lived in their rentals for 3 years always paid my rent never bothered them for anything. My basement flooded multiple times and I never complained. My air conditioner broke hot water heater was very old and went up still never complained. I had to move out and break my lease I am a single mother of two and had to relocate to another state so I could have family help for child care so that I could go to work where I am a Registered nurse. I reached out to them to tell them the situation and they said no problem, sent me a form to fill out and I thought all was ok. So I moved out 60 days later on the date we agreed on and left my town home in great condition patched all holes from pictures painted the walls cleaned the carpets even. I paid all of my utility bills closed my accounts returned my keys even offered to leave my washer and dryer for the next tenant to make up for any inconvenience I caused by breaking my lease. The next thing I know three months later I am being served a bill for 5400$. They charged me for three months rent after I moved out including 100$ late fees each month late fees for previous months I lived there that I did not pay my rent late. They also charged a large fee for breaking the lease and what’s worse they charged me fees for water sewer gas and electric that I paid to the companies already MYSELF, they did not pay them, this is fraud! They also charged for repairs that a landlord is responsible to pay after a tenant leaves. I contacted them to tell them this was outrageous and incorrect and I could not pay it and they sent it to collections. Now my credit will be ruined because I had to be a parent and do what was in the best interest of my children!I know the owner would not need this money they are doing very well and he seemed like a kind caring down to earth guy, but this property manager is a monster! Do your selves a favor, call Trone or another company do not deal with her!
