Shopping for car insurance can be stressful and confusing. I called in and spoke with Maria who was able to explain the policy coverages in simple terms. She found that I was not correctly protecting myself if I were to have a serious accident and explained what would happen if I would continue with my current coverages in a worst case scenario. I bought a car august 7 and insured it threw Kristy’s office. Paid $1,900 for the down payment. On august 26 my car was totaled sitting in front of my house by a drunk driver. The drunk driver then drove off on 3 rims and got away. I was told when I called Kristy’s office they filed the claim and that I would be getting my deductible reimbursed but may take up to 6 months or maybe longer. I was ok with that. Then in September Allstate cut 2 checks to the car lot for payment of the car and nothing to me. I called back to kristy’s office and asked why I wasn’t getting a check for my deductible and that I wanted to cancel my policy right away. Then she told me that I was still gonna get it but I had to wait (probly to get more money out of me until I find out). So yesterday, February 16, I received the call saying they are closing the claim because all payments were made. They sent my deductible (I own the policy) to the car lot because the amount that I owed exceeded what the pay out is. Now not only I don’t get the $500 but I owe the car lot $1,200 more for a car that I don’t have. The point is I lost $1,900 that took me awhile to save back and my car. That $500 could’ve helped to get a new car. I feel they lied just to keep me paying $172 a month. That’s 5 months they wouldn’t have gotten from me which i would’ve saved half because my new premium is only $93 a month. Take my word and Look elsewhere for cheaper insurance.
