I always wonder.Pickle dill soup is great. If the food was as good as here in some places, Revolution might never have happened.
They changed their interior which I dont necessarily like its lost its cozy booth charm and color scheme. Waitresses are nice, food is rarely bad and today was a good day.
Food was excellent. My first time being there, but I heard it was recently remodeled. Great place to visit frequently.
Remodeled, beautiful and excellent food. Good drinks too
Very nice place, good food and service and very nice remodel!👍👍
My first time here. The homemade shots ( lemon and cranberry) were delightful! I had the combo plate - everything was excellent!!! Definitely going back!
Nice place. Good food!
Staff is always very friendly and the food never disappoints! Their dill pickle soup and beet salad are delicious! There is a very home style vibe to this place and I would definitely recommend to anyone.
If you are in Hamtramck this restaurant is a must. The best Polish restaurant in town. I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. The food is delicious and the prices wont break the bank. I always order the dill pickle soup and sour cream and cucumbers, they are the perfect start. My go to was used to be the combination plate until I discovered the Hungarian Pancake, which is what I order every time now. Its delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable. Always a polka on the radio.Love this restaurant!
Favorites: city chicken, goulash, beet salad, dill pickle soup. I get the city chicken and beet salad, hubby gets the goulash and soup, and we share. There are no leftovers to take home and thats the only flaw in my plan.
Dont miss out on this Hamtramck institution. All of your Polish favorites in a comfortable setting with friendly staff. This establishment is my top priority when visiting Hamtramck.
First time guest. Polite service, lots of interesting decor in the dining room. Hot authentic food, a cold beer. Well done ! Looking forward to the next visit.
Mmmm yes. Loved the food. Will go back again
Went here with my boss for lunch. The combo plate is the best bang for your buck. Absolutely a huge amount of food for a great price. The stuffed cabbage and pierogi especially knocked my socks off.Great service too. Love the atmosphere and simplicity. Authentic polish food not too far from home.
The restaurant was very very nice the food was delicious the the beet soup is like my moms and the Duck Soup is like my Aunt Vickys in Ohio its wonderful its way Polish Village used to be Ill be going back often
I was thrilled that my daughter had Polonia on her list of places to eat while we were visiting her in Detroit. Any place that has sour cream in a squeeze bottle at the table is all right with me. There were three of us dining together, and we all tried something different so we could sample a little of everything (or, more accurately, a lot of everything).I decided on the Trio - 2 pierogies, 2 potato pancakes, and one fresh sausage - it was wonderful. My wife enjoyed the stuffed cabbage, and the goulash with potato noodles made my daugter very happy.Aside from the top notch food, there was one other thing that impressed me about Polonia - on the night we were there, there was a table of 7 or 8 women who were there when we arrived, and were still having a good time when we left. This is the kind of place that lends itself to enjoying both a fine meal and good company.
Authentic Polish food served in a historic neighborhood. Tasty food, friendly server. Enjoyed the day.
Fantastic Polish food! The farmers cheese crepes were delicious!
Authentic Polish cuisine. Great place, Ive been going there for years with my family. Highly recommend
The food wasn’t that good. I ate a hamburger with no thousand island sauce and wanted Mayonnaise and ketchup. I only got mayonnaise. My friend had the chicken soup, and had a weird sweet taste. I don’t understand why people like the soup. It’s not good
Service was a little slow for what look like a slow day. Where are all the people? I remember when this was the place to be with beautiful polish waitresses. I will try again maybe I came in on a bad day.
Great polish food. Waitress was wonderful. Definitely recommend them.
TERRIBLE SERVICE!! Our waitress had a unpleasant attitude. I brought my family down here from upper Michigan to try some Polish food. We were very disappointed in the sizes of pierogi and cabbage rolls. To the response below:Yes it was Polonia. I had to wave down the waitress multiple times to get her attention and every time she looked bothered by me trying to ask her questions about the food!!
Good food. Hungarian pancakes are beef stew meat with gravy/red sauce over hash browns. Was good.
Website and Facebook page both said they were open. Call before you go!
Absolutely amazing food and service. Beautiful little restaurant too
Hamtramack stable. Good value.
Earthy restaurant with home cooking. Tasty food with great service.
The best Polish food in Michigan! Hard to decide which dish because I love them all#
Always great food! Its the best Polish food around!
INCREDIBLE food for an excellent value. I have eaten in-restaurant, had carry-out, and also hired Polonia to cater both large and small events. Every single time, we have been amazed at the level of quality. Highly recommend the smoked sausage, cabbage rolls, and pierogi. Will continue to be a happy Polonia customer for years to come!! If you are considering Polonia to cater your event, look no further - they are definitely a crowd-pleaser for a filling, home-cooked meal at a competitive price!
Very disappointed in service. Food was good.
The food had a lot of flavor. I will return soon.
Very great yummy food services was very kind very great will visit and eat there again
Absolutely fantastic. Great food. Perfect service.
Food wasnt great, and service was terrible. They also forgot our soup and gave us a hard time.
Always excellent food and great service. Pierogi, potato pancakes, sausage, stuffed cabbage, mushroom crepes, duck soup and more - cant go wrong with anything on the menu!!
:) I absolutely love this place, polish food is done of my favorite, this is one of the BEST places to go 😀
They went Irish. Loved their corned beef and cabbage.
Food was great !!! I LOVE THE DILL PICKLE SOUP. Fair priced and laid back atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
It was ok, food a little dull tasting. Sorry
My wife and I take guests here to treat them to great Polish food.
Great meal. So nice to be able to eat in the restaurant again.
Great polish and smoked sausages!
City chicken & stuffed cabbage was Great! 👍😁
Great food and friendly service
Had some great food. With love ones
Most disrespectful, rude and ignorant restaurant I have ever been too. Please see photos for more detail. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Health Department in regards to my experience.
Exquisite Polish food, try the sampler platter!
Terrible food! Perogis were so small . Wont ever go back.
Ive been coming here since I was a child. The beet soup is my absolute favorite! I wish they made it more often. Ive been calling for months and they keep telling me check back in a couple weeks. My kids and I have been CRAVING it and cannot wait to enjoy it again!
Best cabbage soup around and fun staff. My waitress even helped me enjoy my birthday a few years ago. That was a good day
Very Delicious food great prices
I told my friends about this restaurant with my highest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The the cooking is yummy and the team is generous and cooperative. Whenever we eat in this place we pass a lovely time. warmly recommended.
Good experience. Food delicious. Waitress pleasant but distracted with many other guests, responsibilities. Clearly double tasking
The most disgusting food I ever had. The sauerkraut if you want to call that must have been 10 weeks old. You get 3/4 of a glass of beer instead of a full glass. I thought it was impossible to have soggy fried pierogies. The place has been going downhill for many many years. The only reason I went there is because the PVC Cafe was closed. Never again I learned my lesson. You get better kielbasa off the Speedway Grill when you go to the gas station. To call this Polish food is a supreme insult.
Great food, fast service
Awesome food.
This spot has amazing service as well as tasty meals. One of my favourite spots ever. The food and drinks served quickly and the prices are affordable. Recommended.
Great food, excellent prices, I had never been to an authentic Polish restaurant before. I walked in explaining this and they hooked me up. Wow, what a fantastic meal, dont forget to try the dill soup! The blonde waitress was so helpful, great experience, will definitely return!
The owner was a great host. We have my Christmas celebration with my polish family here. He squeezed thirteen of us in and we sang The 12 Days of Christmas to the restaurant. By the way did I mention the food was awesome!
I came here on a Friday at around 645pm. It was pretty busy inside. I had to wait a little while to be seated, but once seated, the service was good despite being a busy hour. The interior is nothing to speak of. It is very uncommercialized and has a very local hometown feel.I was given a basket of bread to munch on. I ordered the beef goulash, chicken soup, and a double pierogi side. I got a cheese pierogi and a potato pierogi. The food came out quickly. The soup was so good. The goulash was had the perfect feel of a home-cooked meal. The pasta noodles were slightly too soft. The cheese pierogi was not my favorite, but the potato was awesome. The prices were very reasonable, and overall, this place is a great find.
Always a Great place for Polish food, never been disappointed eating here.
One of the best Polish restaurants around. The food is always great. The wait staff could be a little nicer though.
Amazing place
The food did not impress me as good. I had to get up and get my own utensils to start eating.
One of the best places for authentic Polish food in Metro Detroit. My moms grandparents were old world Polish, every time she comes to town she specifically requests to visit here and always talks about how the food and atmosphere happily remind her of her grandmother. Food is great and wont break the wallet either!
The food was excellent as well as the service. I wanted to stop in Hamtramck to see what the neighborhoods looked like where my mother was born. They were very diversified from being once a mostly Polish/Slovik neighborhood. But I was able to find this restaurant and it was a gem. They had all of my favorites on the menu and more. Pierogies were like and fluffy and filled with a sweet cheese filling. Dont forget to try the lemon and cherry kiss shots
Excellent food !🇵🇱😁
Love this place love the food !!!I would go there again in a heartbeat !!!It takes me back home ❤️
Friendly family restaurant atmosphere. Food was delicious. Waitress and staff attentively took care of our group of 8 with prontly cooked food and great service.
The waitress Kathy is the best. Faster service and very friendly
Awesome food great service
Always good food.
First time eating here. Food was great! And came out very fast. Service was also great, they get busy right after opening so always a good sign. Keep up the good work!
This place was great from the food to the service so good. I am not familiar with polish food. No problem the server helped to guide me. I did get the combo plate that had a couple of different things to try. All of it was so good. They had a white borscht soup that was so good. The beet salad was fantastic.
