I was approved for free dumping at the landfill because I am indeed a Hampton resident. The little fella up front was the one to approve me because I live in Hampton. Sounds good right? Well this same little guy decided he didnt like my address already and changed his mind .be careful of what you are told here. This guy doesnt have a clue what he is doing!!
As a major remodeler we have lots of garbage. Waste Management automatically renewed the contract for 3 years unless you notify them via certified letter 6 months before expiration of old contract. Afterwards, during the height of Covid we were charged $400 for empty dumpster fee. When we called the company, including corporate office, we were told: You signed the contract, live with it. Once we were able to finally go with someone else, they kept calling from the retention department. This company DID NOT SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS during Covid. They profited from it, without any compassion. When everyone was being laid off they charged for empty dumpsters at $400 each. No compassion. Terrible business.
I paid for a 30yd dumpster to be delivered on Fri 23 Jul 2021 and I called WM at 1:34PM on Fri 23 Jul 2021 to confirm that it was being delivered. The person on the phone confirmed it would be delivered by 3:30 - 4:30PM on Friday and that if any problems came up, I would be notified.I went over to the house the next morning and the dumpster wasnt there. I tried calling the contact number around 9am and received an after-hours message, so I went to the web site and submitted a service request to hopefully figure out what was going on.The dumpster didnt get delivered until Sat 24 Jul 2021 (a day late at 3PM) and it was picked up a day early (1 Aug) and I was never contacted about the change in delivery.I paid specifically for 23 Jul - 2 Aug so I would have two weekends (which included paying for an extra day) and I was short-changed two days with no contact. It is now 9 Aug and I still havent been contacted about my service request...
Expensive, poor service, unprofessional
If you enjoy driving through household refuse for half a mile, plus up and down a pothole riddled hill..... this is the place for you.... wait theres more.... you get the bonus of needing to wash you truck cuz it smells like a garbage can..... but wait theres more... Since youre driving through trash to dump oh, you always have the great possibility of puncturing a tire!
Awesome to use and staff are really helpful! Must bring an ID and proof of Hampton residency. I used my vehicle registration and I was good. It was a little tricky to locate public bulk trash drop-off. Just read the signs and DONT FOLLOW YOUR GPS!
Terrible Service, Rude, Never Answer the Phone! would think WM would be more organized....
When did Hampton residents have to pay iv been in Hampton for 7 years now and have never had to pay to dump bulk trash
We called ahead of time and was told the landfill is open until 4pm; the OFFICE is open until 4pm, but the landfill closes at 3pm. We asked if they knew how much $/load or pound it would cost to dump, and they didnt know that, nor what materials we could dump. When we arrived and told them the gate was closed at 3:05pm, the receptionist didnt realize they had closed for the day, and just assumed it closed at 3pm. Its honestly impressive how little basic information they knew about where they worked and made the drive there a waste.
A little confusing to find the public dump area the first time, but the staff and off load area are nice. Make sure you have your vehicle registration with you.
If the pandemic is still happening, dont bother, theres nobody there to help you
Good place to take trash
Takes entirely too long to get in and out of here. If you have to go on top of the hill to dump, expect to be here for at LEAST an hour. The management of this place is piss poor
Cool
Employees are friendly
