I have been dealing with Hampton City School system for homeschooling for years now. They are very good at communicating, and have always been very helpful and very nice and polite in taking care of all of our needs and questions. We appreciate the Hampton City Schools office so much!

I have been trying to get ahold of my caseworker for a few weeks now so I could renew mine and my daughters insurance, this place is anything but helpful.. I shouldn’t have to spend 30 minutes to an hour on the phone just to speak with someone for 2 minutes... it’s ridiculous... you guys really need to do better.

I’ve had issues with them In the past but in dealing with Mr. Brown he always handles my issues in a fast and professional manner! Returns my calls when needed and always calls when he says he is. Hopefully I continue having him as my worker until I’m off of assistance!!

Someone please Pray that they all remember that not everyone would ask for assistant if it wasnt needed and to also remember that never look down on anyone unless you are helping them up, never know when you may have to walk in that same or worst situation. Many are called, but few are chosen-have you been called to do what you do or chosen?

From the case workers to the supervisors to the director of the program are more unprofessional than any other business I have ever worked with or through. This was a struggle from start to finish. Multiple phone calls to get in touch with a caseworker who began screening phone calls after the first call. She was told by the director to contact us, her supervisor contacted us instead. Which is fine, however, her supervisor claimed we were lying the entire time about not receiving paperwork, saying she believed it was highly unlikely that, that had occurred, although the purpose of the phone call was due to our worker not getting in touch with us at all. The director also stopped answering after passing the issue back down to the supervisor. As if, people are struggling already to have to ask for help and then to be met with this type of disrespect is not only embarrassing but demeaning.

Id rather put negative ( - ) zero 0 stars .. This is the worst place ever.. And almost EVERY person that works there acts like they are much better than you!! Because unlike them, they arent needing to apply for assistance! They probably already get it, no questions asked! FREE & no hassle! Hope nobody needs this place, my advice is try a different city!!!

I just wanted to know when my children’s insurance would need to be renewed. A very simple question, and no one would answer the phones, I emailed and emailed the director, no answer. I then called the main office in Richmond and nothing and I even emailed them too and nothing. So I felt I had to be rude to get my point across and still no answer 😡😡😡😡. They are supposed to help the public even when the public has a hard time asking for help because it can be humiliating and then you don’t get the help you need and we are considered at fault when things aren’t done at the time it’s supposed to be. I can’t have my children’s insurance lapse, and all I want to know is when their insurance needs to be renewed.

Now I see why this place has such low reviews. These people dont care about anyone but themselves. Im new to the area & actually needed to get emergency assistance for my family but was still given a hard time. No one answers the phone at all. Its done intentionally too. Ive contacted the receptionist one day to check & she said Harris-Hancuck was there all day. That one was especially rude and insensitive. Ive seen others say they should all be fired. Im sure this is very true.Rating: 1True Rating: -1

In the past, Ive had good experiences with this agency. However, many of the workers do not have good people skills. Its already frustrating enough to have to go to them for help. Dealing with them will increase your stress even more. I really wouldnt have given them one star, but I had a great case worker in the past.

They are a serious joke compared to the staff in Newport news. I wish I lived in Newport News the few times that Ive needed assistance. One lady that works at the front desk is ALWAYS rude. She even accused me of lying. The case workers Ive had have all been bad. Ms. Parker was extremely nasty to me when I had my interview with her. It seemed as if she was trying to belittle me and looked down on my generation as a whole. She also had me wait almost an entire month because she THOUGHY I didnt turn in the information she needed for me to recieve benefits. After figuring out she had the information my case was moved on to another case worker. It has been roughly 7 weeks since Ive applied for assistance and I still havent received my benefits although I was approved. They never return phone calls the only way to get a response out of them is by going up there and acting a fool Im assuming.

Staff arrived late,but will have you wait for hours,days.Rarely receive callbacks,when messages are left.Always have had some type of an issue with anything that’s went through the office.

Fire the staff. How is it possible noone takes action? They treat people as if they have the right to disrespect and talk down to those that are seeking assistance. This place is rotten to the core from the top to the bottom. Those in authority allow this and accept this. This is a staff that needs tp be fired. I was shocked with what I saw everytime I have taken my aunt . She was rushed thru the process. Every answer was met with a short snappy answer . They carried on conversations with others, checking their phones. One time you think maybe its just this person but its the norm and staff talking about the clients, personal life. I am sure the employes love working there because there is no accountability. It is a fast paced and constant interaction with the public so you need people trained to handle stressful situations. Customer Service and being held to a standard that will make the process flow easily on both those that work there and those seeking help.

The only way that I have gotten a response in the 10+ years that I have been dealing with them for my father is to call the director. This is a true waste of the Directors time, but the only way that I can get anyone to return my phone calls! The e-mail that I had for his last case worker just bounced back and said that she is no longer there, so I guess I will be calling again today to find out who he has been re-assigned to since they can not put that on the paperwork that they mail out.

Ms.Frison in the child care department is beyond rude and shows no true concern for the public. I reached out to her supervisor and before I could speak with her, she decided to lie about the actual conversation we had previously. This is a place of SERVICE. It would be wise to keep that in mind.

Called two days in a row finally spoke with my case worker on the third day for her to say she would call me back with a answer.... never got a call back I had to follow up with her again. So annoying!
