I grew up in Buckroe in Hampton and Annas was a place all of my family and friends hung out with. Today was completely unnerving. We waited an hour for our order, needless to say noone bothered to come to our table and tell us our food was delayed. I noticed at least 6 door dash orders were picked up during the hour we waited but everyone that sat at the tables were put last. 🤨 When we asked for a refund the cashier said we have a no refund policy. Granted 50 was spent and there were no signs indicating the refund policy. Talk about a joke. Annas you have to do better. We got our order after we requested a refund. The pizza was missing pepperoni, greasy onion rings and old fries.

Ordered a Philly Cheese Sub. ; w/ mayo, tomato, lettuce; other toppings extra costs . Little filling of steak ( $7.99 - $9.99 upon eating one half of sandwich I chomped on what I thought was a piece of plastic. Took back to Restaurant; told them about episode. was offered another sandwich. Food was tasteless and small for the price. Went to Hooters on Mercury Blvd. Got a Philly-Cheese w/ all the toppings, onions, mushrooms, peppers w/ fries. Big sandwich; Delicious ( $ 10). Wont be going back to Annas.

Worst ever! We were talking about leaving since it took 45 minutes for the food to come out just as it did so we stayed-- It looked amazing- until we cut into it--the inside was still cold and raw! Ive eaten at this place over 25 years- its sad to know the new owners bought the name and the legacy of Annas in Buckroe and then fall flat on their face when coming up on their food-- its like watching something you love die a slow painful death.

The best Philly cheese sub in Hampton roads far...it was a lot of meat, seasoned well, and the best part was the roll, it wasnt that much bread...loved it!!!

Went in at dinner, place was empty. Was extremely hot ! Fix your a.c. !!! No servers, they have a stupid online ordering system, 😝. My credit union locked my debit card when we tried to pay on it. They dont deliver, they use 3rd party. Good luck getting food and take ice water and sweat towels if you eat in. That was the second time I tried them . I should have learned my lesson the first time. I waited an hour and 45 minutes, they called me several times about my order and address. The door dash driver called me and said she was at my house but left because of water at my curb, so I told her Ill meet her at the street. So I go outside and I see headlights driving straight through my yard ruining my lawn with giant ruts ! As she was backing out of my front door she got stuck and proceeded to burn tires tearing my yard all to pieces !!!! I wish I could give this place zero stars!!!!!

I was a walk in and the first thing I noticed was how busy they were! The second thing I noticed was how friendly the staff were..even with rude customers. Everything is made to order, so I expected a wait. And let me tell you, the wait was worth it!I love the hustle and bustle. I love the food. I love Anna’s. This is my new favorite spot.

I ordered delivery, which came fast and I have no complaints. The crab dip I was a little sketchy first looking at it....but...it ABSOLUTELY delicious!!! Only 1 suggestion maybe cut up garlic bread for the dip or do bread chips, but I cut them up no problem:) I also got a medium meat lovers with extra cheese and mushrooms, I have only had a few bites...but hands down they are great! You guys KNOW I love pizza!!!! Thanks Annas you guys hit the spot! Everyone check them out!!! Ill have to go dine in next!!

My fiance and I used to have our dates here, man this place has fallen off! I would give 0 stars if I could. Our experience was so horrible in the hour it took to get our food, we left with it to go, I dont know where to begin. It was dirty, tables, floors, counters, service was horrible, took 30 minutes just to get our drinks, had to ask for our salads that were tossed on the table in to go containersin a empty restaurant, man I could go on and on. As a GM myself in the restaurant business I was shocked as the manager just sat there and did absolutely nothing while his team drowned. Weve been coming here for 2 years and after the experience we had, no washing hands, all on cellphones, just NOT one lick of professionalism, we will NEVER come back. If they didnt make us pay first before we even got our food? I wouldve walked out! Dont waste your time! After enduring an hour of nonsense got the food home and it was horrible! I have NEVER written a bad review in my life, this is the first. EVERYONE, management included, should be fired and they start from scratch! What a disappointment! Dont waste your time or money!

Always enjoy going to Annas Italian Restaurant on Pembroke Ave in Buckroe Beach. Dinners are superior, spaghetti sauce is homemade and very good. Subs are very good, stuffed with whatever you want in them. Soups are homemade. Pizzas ate very tasty and large. The only thing I do not like is they shred their lettuce for the salads in those thin, thin strips so it doesnt look or taste like lettuce. Besides that its all good. Staff is very nice.

I had their spaghetti meat sauce and it was the best I have ever had. Also got the cheesy garlic bread. Definitely glad I did. Delicious! Will be back soon.

This place has fallen way off. Fried biscuits with sugar 20 cherries and no chocolate and call it zeppole? Salad shrimp in hot sauce thats buffalo shrimp?!? Wow!!

Pizza was good but service was a little slow as we had kids with us, we were one of two groups of people in the resturant and it was not busy at all and it took almost 30 mins to get one pizza pie.

I used to like Anna’s Pizza. Not sure what happened but the food was TERRIBLE!! We ordered for pick up, but when we showed up, it was going to be another 30 minutes from the scheduled pick up time. We asked them to change it to delivery. That took an hour and 20 minutes and all of the food was cold. The worst calzone I’ve ever had. So bad, we threw it away and started cooking dinner. The driver was super nice, so I’ve added in a star for him.

Not a pleasant experience. Probably won’t eat here for a very long time after tonight. The pizza was terrible. It is sad, this place used to be the best ever! Been eating here for 30 years. Ashamed to say it has gone down over the years. Don’t waste your money or your time... cause they take about 45 minutes longer than they say they will.

Ordered online at 3:04 pm om a Wednesday. Said ready for pickup at 3:45. Left to do errands and got to Annas at 3:40. Was told they were busy and would be another 25 minutes. Went in at 4:05 and was told just getting order started. Do not care what it tastes like nothing in a strip mall is worth 1 and a half hours to get food. Finally got order after hour and a half. Forgot my sub so had to wait another 5 minutes. FOOD WAS HORRIBLE! No sauce on pepperoni pizza, godfather sub was sub par(go to Harris Teeter), stromboli was all bread and that was undercooked. Spent 90 dollars and threw out 2/3 of food. No issues with staff other than women working counter complaining about working at Annas.

I called at 11:00 am, ordered 4 x-large pizzas, garlic knots, and chicken tenders. I wanted to pick it up at 1:00 pm. My order was ready on time and was delicious! Everybody enjoyed the food and I am grateful! Thanks!

From the time we placed our order over the phone, it was bad experience..the girl taking the order was paying NO ATTENTION, left us on hold several times, it took 10 minutes to order, as a result we were missing our main courses, she even read back our order, but couldnt even get THAT right..when we called to tell them we were missing some of our order, all we got as a responses was, well, we have new people so she never rang it up, we have no delivery driver, but i can ring it up and you can come pick it up! NO THANK YOU, Wed already waited an hour for 2 salads, some cannolis and some meatballs...I used to love this place, but Ill never again order there, its really gone downhill!!

I went in today and it was still busy as usual. Who ever the young girl was in charge in the front did a wonderful job. Shecommunicated with everybody and made things another than my last visit.

Honestly pizza and salad is good, made us change our main pizza place... Until today, called in at 6:24 pm for a simple delivery order 7:35 I had to call in order to check on the status of out DELIVERY ORDER. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for our order, and even after that it was still quicker to tell them to hold the order and we would collect it our selves. If you do decide to get pizza you will be happy, HOWEVER DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY.Edit: Due to the owners response we will no longer be visiting this establishment and will be getting our pizza from our original pizza place. Good job on losing customers!

I love their Stromboli’s. Get them every time but only when I can wait. They take a little long to cook. If I’m pressed for time, their steak subs are the best. Thanks Anna’s, you guys rock.

I love this placeMy parents recommended this place when I came back from overseas. The Phillies are perfect for me, the baked ziti is my wife’s favorite and my kids love the pizza. It is our weekly visit. Highly recommended!

I ordered half a baked spaghetti for take out. When I got it home and opened it up, it was dry. I added half a can of tomato sauce to it. Without the added sauce, it was just spaghetti, meat and cheese. Disappointing.

My first time at this quaint little spot and it was out of this world! The food is excellent, and the service top notch. My Philly cheesesteak was packed full of meat, with just the right amount of everything on it, and my boyfriend loved his cheesy and saucy lasagna! Thank you so much to the Anna’s crew for being so warm and friendly and serving us delicious meals. We will definitely be back!

I love Annas, dont get me wrong but I ordered 2.5 hours ago for delivery and still waiting for my food to be delivered. As an establishment you need to make your employees that are taking orders aware of the wait time, so they are able to make customers aware. Spoke with MOD an hour ago, she was very nice and she said it was on its way. We are still waiting, going on 3 hours. Not even hungry anymore!!!! I suggest Annas staff comes up with a better service plan!

When I was a youngling this was my favorite restaurant but now... I dont know what youve done but its terrible, utter garbage, its a shame really it use to be one of the best places in town but now its awful.

The absolute worst customer service and employees in the food service industry. Not only did the woman on the phone threaten to cancel our order if we did not pay over the phone (extremely hostile) she could not hear us and had to have us repeat everything multiple times which got frustrating. We picked up our order, got home and were missing a large sub. Called right away and without hesitation they said they would deliver to us. 1 hour later it was delivered (by this time it’s 8pm and 2 hours after we put our initial order in). Called to express our displeasure and the “manager” on the phone blamed US for it taking so long to get delivered and that “we would have gotten it sooner if we picked it up ourselves” UNBELIEVABLE.

Was told there was no wait, took 45 minutes to get my pizzas. Got there and was told its not ready yet, when actually they FORGOT to make one of my pizzas. So another 15 minutes for my dinner while my other pizza sits and cools? Thanks

One star because I cant rate 0. I hope you dont plan on their 20-25 min delivery estimate when you order delivery/pick-up they never make it. On numerous occasions we have waited over an hour just to pick-up an order after a 20-25 min estimate. Also, I am surprised DoorDash doesnt blacklist them. And dont try talking to the manager because they are too busy!

We have been ordering from Anna’s for quite a while and up until tonight have received 4 and 5 star food/service. Tonight we ordered an XL half supreme half pepperoni pizza. After an hour of waiting we received a medium half cheese half pepperoni. My wife called to inform them of their mistakes. They refuse to do a refund and stated they will replace the pizza with a correct pizza only if they receive the pizza back that they delivered. So now my guest and child have to wait even longer for supper. I could hear how they were being extremely rude with my wife over the phone. Very poor customer service. They have lost a loyal customer.

Ordered $65.00 worth in food at 4:15 Sunday, food was delivered at 5:35 after I called to check the status of our order at 5:27. Customer service was nice, but no apology for running so far behind. Delivery driver had his music blaring without a care in the world when he showed up, and our food was cold. Our family have been long time customers (over 17 years) and Ive never had this poor of service up until now. Sad. I heard theyre under new management, hopefully they can figure out how to fix their issues. I would hate to see them go out of business over lack of good leadership/ownership.

Ordered food on Saturday and got it delivered due to not having a way to pickup. When the food was delivered, the sub that was orders was completely wrong. Was told that we could bring it back which wasn’t an option (why we did delivery in the first place), or that they would make it right on the next order. That being said, them making it right is taking 10% off is a $9 sub. They can keep the 90 cents. Will go to the Anna’s on Armistead next time.

I would give it a zero if I could. Called in an order and they said it would be ready in 20 minutes, came in and they messed up the order and tried to charge me for two specialty pizzas instead of one, then when I got there Staff not COVID compliant in that They kept bringing pizzas from other orders to one table and opening it, then trying to give the pizza to the original people that ordered it AFTER THE TABLE OPENED IT. I WAS THE SECOND ORDER THEY DID THIS TO we refused our pizza due to COVID. This was 50 minutes after we ordered. They offered to make another pizza but we were over it. I will NEVER go there again.

I just wasted 17+ on small salad with brown lettuce thru out and a personal pizza that is at least 1/2/in thick mostly crust the whole meal was nasty. soooo disappointed that was A LOT of money any way you look at and for it be as bad as it was, (not .good) only two guys on staff trying to do the best they could but did not quite achieve . I blame this MOSTLY on owner ship management

I called several times over the last couple months during regular business hours and got no answer. Once I finally got an answer an applied for a job I ask if they were shutdown for a few months. The manager said no. I had an interview scheduled but then it got postponed 2 hours before the interview for the next day, then called the next day and told me I needed to come in an hour earlier.For minimum wage and having to purchase an entire wardrobe and my scheduling is already getting jerked around. What a joke. No wonder reviews have been spotty, its the management...

We used to order from Annas all the time but lately its has been awful service. We have been waiting longer than hour every time we order whether it be for delivery or pick up. Really no reason 3 subs should take that long. Then when the food gets to us its cold. Probably wont go back again for a while.

Workers without mask preparing food

Used to work here. They would make us use moldy cucumbers and cut the mold off. When i left and asked an employee who still works there if they still do that, and they said yes. Came as a customer and had the most horrible customer service yet. food was cold and super over cooked (idk how they achieved both at the same time)

I just picked up a to go order a slice of pizza with onions mushrooms and black olives. I didnt look at it until I got home but to much disappointment it was non edible. It was burnt and cold. I tried to call to complain and couldnt get through. In the Future I will need to look at it before driving all the way home

I’m from NYC, and I have traveled many places...but let me tell you, Annas Pizza in Buckroe has THE BEST Phillies and pizzas hands down! I like just a simple cheese pizza for the kids. I get the steak surf and turf and my boyfriend gets the chicken Philly with onions and mushrooms. All are AMAZING! We have to have Annas at least once a week and I’m not ashamed to say it, haha!!!

The food here is sooooo good! I love the penne vodka with chicken and shrimp and my husband loves their Phillies. The staff is awesome! We are greeted every time we go in there by friendly faces. They get pretty busy, so definitely call ahead. Good food takes time to make and I don’t mind waiting!

I have eaten here twice now. The first time, I had the cheese steak sandwich. Im picky about my cheese steak. Although it didnt have cheese whiz on it (its not really a Philly without the whiz...and NOBODY around here does that), it was still a really good sandwich. The pizza I ate the second time I ate here was AWESOME. They got the perfect proportions of cheese, sauce, and pepperoni. I will definitely be going back to sample more of their menu and would heartily recommend this place to others.

Excellent service. Pizza not up to standard. Sauce weak, bread good, meat very light. Way not the best or even close to to any I have eaten. They say Annas opened in 1970. I would like to see proof as I helped my brother in law Giovanni LoMonico in Buckroe Shopping Center when it was called Giovannis Pizza. Annas dad worked there also. History has been re-arranged to sound better for current caretakers. Still in the same family as I can tell. I mentioned this and the girl all but accused me of telling a lie. Hey! I was there, not her..........I would really like them to get the pizza back up to as special as it was when Giovanni was running it. Sauce not real good. Sorry...............If you dont know pizza you might find it good...havent tried anything else but I wont go back for myself, and if a group of my friends go there I will attend with them, but Ill pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for me......higher price than in Richmond yet nowhere near as good.....

I would be very careful eating here. We found pieces of wood in the crust of our pizza and something in the middle of our garlic knots. I complained brought the food up there and they said a manager would call me back. I waited two days manager hasnt called so I called them on the phone and the manager would not speak to me. I am definitely calling the health department.

This place is awesome! Their customer service is amazing and they really make you feel like part of the family. I have been here 6 times and have always had an amazing experience.

We Have been going here for over 20 years now. And the quality of the Food and service has been Deteriorating. I keep saying give them another chance only to be Disappointed again.Sadly to say that We Will be taking our Business elsewhere from now on.

One word. . . YUCK!The calamari was undercooked and cold, the crab dip was overcooked and not even a dip by the time we got it, it was a big wad of cold hard cheese with a couple pieces of crab, the bruschetta had absolutely no taste and made poorly, and fried pickles were missing from my order (which I’m sure would’ve been gross based off of all of the food we ordered). The ziti was fine once you got past all of the cheese. All and all this was a waste of money and I want a refund for having to taste such awful poorly made food.

Okay so Im a first time customer and definitely will be a frequent customer. The best thing about this place is that they deliver to my University, because most places do not. I ordered the baked lasagna ($13.99) and the full set of garlic knots ($6.99 for 15). They were both so delicious, I finished it within 10 mins. They were both seasoned well and baked perfectly. It was so good that I was excited to leave this review. I forgot to take a picture because I was really excited to taste it since Ive heard great reviews on it. Im happy so far.

I am writing this from my wifes computer. I loved me some Annas pizza, i actually grew up with the Buffas in Buckroe. I am so upset with the service i have received the last 5 times i have went there. The pizza is never ready when it is supposed to be. Here is what happened1 time- had to wait 25 extra minutes to get pizza -no apologys2 time- had to wait 20 mins due to the cooks forgetting to make it -manager gave me here card and a free pizza next time3 time - went to get free pizza. had to wait 20 minutes because it was not made yet. Crew was not worried at all about customers, just laughing and joking with each other4 time- went to pick up pizza and was told it will be right out. They pulled it out of the oven and the crust was burnt to a crisp. They actually had the nerve to offer the pizza to me, when i refused it then they decided to make another one, waiting another 20 minutes,So today 5 time- i called it in as usual, was told 35 minutes, got there in 40 minutes base on the past and guess what, it wasnt even started yet. of course i was told that after i had paid for it. so as i waited, the manager laughed and joked with the employees, showed no concern for the customer at all. The young lady waiting on me was apologetic until i told her i would not be back, then she didnt care either. This place is a disgrace to the Buffa name, and i hope and pray that there is no relation. Leadership is nowhere to be found in that place. A few employees show they care but their hands are tied because of management. Very very sad. Gary

You do NOT get your moneys worth. The prices are high, and the portions are small. If we are paying money, we should get what we pay for. The cheese fries were thick and soggy, no flavor. Cheese fries from Andreas are the best hands down. The pizza was flimsy and greasy, and super thin. What a RIP off! Franco has to be disappointed.

Ive been going here since the really 1970s. Its always good and the servings are very big. My last meal was a calzone. It was enough for three meals.

Id say the food is close to home but the times I ordered for here I only live down the street from the restaurant and it take awhile for delivery and I ended up twice having to bring my food back this time I ordered a LG pizza and when I got the delivery to my surprise I open the box and see a med pizza in the box and not cooked to how I ordered it lol its sad since Dominos has came a long ways and is good and faster deliveryso u might want to try a new spot before settling on this place
