I did not receive service for two months and kept being promised a credit. My services were cut an was expected to pay for the months I was supposed to have been credited. I work from home so my services could not be off. I had been on the phone all morning for hours trying to get my bill fixed with zero resolve. Finally I took a chance and called back on my lunch break and got the amazing Becky (employee # 83054) In less than 5 minutes she fixed my issue and gave me the credit I was owed an then some. I wish I could give her a raise or promotion or paid day off or something! She never told me no. She did not give me the run around. Actually while I’m spilling my life story frustrated and rambling about the bill she fixed it and continued to patiently listen before even telling me all was taken care of. I cried. Literally. This is what customer service is all about. She is the sole reason why I will remain a cox customer. Becky, thank you!

Cox store employees are very nice and try to be helpful. However, Cox telephone employees are terribly rude and condescending. When I asked some valid questions about my service, the employee got smart with me, then hung up on me.
Cox Services has gone up $20 within a month they get you to sign a 2-year contract then after the first year they raise your bill $20. I even turned in two cable boxes to cut back on my bill, and that didnt matter Cox found a solution to that and raised my bill back up to where it was and twenty dollars more, saying taxes and better services. Customer service is ridiculous they dont answer the phone I am going to try Verizon I recommend anybody whos looking at Cox look to the Future because after a year theyre going to put it to you thank you.. Cox internet is abysmal. The internet is constantly going out for hours at a time. When you call the tech support all they say is to reset your system, and they can charge you more to send a tech out. Usually the tech has no idea whats wrong. Beyond that all they suggest is to upgrade another package. With Verizion we never had these problems. It was a smooth process and we never experienced any internet outage. With Cox its every single day. The only reason we have them is because they are the only internet provider in our area.
By far the worst internet provider there is. My internet is simply horrible and when I call to fix it they say theres no issue. Paying $95 a month for 500 mbps internet and its unusable.
Internet just stops working randomly. Customer service is awful, when first setting up I paid for the box and first month and they shipped it. After 2 and half weeks of nothing coming in the mail I called and they hadn’t shipped it yet AFTER I paid up front. They said they’d find out what happened and call me back. After 6 hours I called the same person and asked what they found out, he acted out out and said he was busy and to call myself and gave me the number. Granted not every one is the same. But my experience hasn’t been good.
Internet constantly going out in neighborhoods. Technicians constantly bringing down the network for hours or days at a time to fix it. If they didnt have a monopoly theyd have been out of business decades ago.
The WORST customer service and internet service I have ever experienced. They have sent 5+ techs out for an issue they know they are having, they said they were going to credit my account for the days our service was out but then they dont do it or leave notes about doing so. Chat representatives regularly disconnect chats when they cant resolve the problem. Inwill be filing an official complaint with the FCC so I can be reimbursed for months of non service.
Cox is a sub-par cable company way to expensive you have to get extended cable in order to get some what poor TV service only one or two good channels rest is hot garbage you think with retired military military dod civilians and others the cable bill should be less

Your service is the absolute absolute worst! Power outtage yesterday so we have been without internet for a full day. i rcvd and unsolicited text from cox at 730am today saying the issue was fixed. I went to sign on for work 2 hours later...nothing... i called and the rep. told me there nothing they can do there no eta on fixing our outtage and the text was sent on error...that someone must have hit something mistakenly. I understand mistakes but to send at 730 and not follow up to correct the mistake is irresponsible!You know that many ppl are working from home bc of covid and now I am losing out on another day of work bc of no internet and no resolution from cox even though we pay a NOT cheap cable bill every month! i disgusted... and will switch as soon as fios comes to area. Hampton va is held hostage bc cox is only high speed and they take that for granted.Cox has terrible service and worse customer service. I encourage anyone who has another option to run far away from cox!

CONSUMER BEWARE: These people at this location are rude and nasty. Including the middle aged white male that claims to be a manager. I was appalled at how harshly they can speak to customers. Cox can and will bill you for fraudulent charges for services or equipment you never have. In my opinion, they should only be used as a last resort. Im currently being billed for equipment that I bought from a third party and COX is saying that they provided this equipment to me although I can prove they didnt . They still refuse to rectify this. I highly recommend recorded all conversations and documenting all interactions with this company. Read all the reviews...HORRIBLE.

Sold us internet at Walmart across the road in a booth. Lady was on the phone with the lady at the store across the street to sell us internet as a self set up. By the time we were done signing up the lady across the street said shes closing in a minute instead of waiting for us to drive across the street she closed. The girl that sold it to us said they would be open in the morning. Well its the next day. They are closed. What a joke of a business. Super unimpressed.
When I first got the cable installed they sent a tech who didnt have the slightest clue of what he was doing. He got to my house at 8am didnt leave until 7:15 pm and the cable STILL wasnt on. He stated he was coming back the next day but when I called that same evening the techs notes said the job was completed. I had to schedule for a senior tech to come the next day he had it up and running in 15 minutes. Then the storm came and I went without service for 4 days although I had power that part is understandable. Then you guys had a so called outage and then received a text stating my service was restored. I get home and see CAST on the box I did all of the basic troubleshooting ....unplug the box from the wall wait 5 to 10 seconds and nothing!!!! The send a tech out here today SAME RESULT NOTHING yet his notes state compled. COMPLETED MEANS EVERYTHING IS DONE, UP AND RUNNING .not completed on his end. So now I have to wait LONGER for another tech to come out because no signal is coming to my home .Everything worked fine until a tech came to my downstairs neighbors house then all of a sudden my cable went out. Cox needs to change the name from Cox communications to CANT COMMUNICATE.I have never gone through this with a cable company before VERIZON FIOS IS LOOKING REAL GOOD RIGHT ABOUT NOW!

Took in a mail promo we received less than last week, less than 1 week with Cox service, allowing for increased internet speed at a great price. Was told online in a chat it could likely be applied to my account as we have only had service for 7 days. Promo could not be found on the computer at the store--which was also the case when I called in earlier today and was told to go to the store. Then I was told a price, close to but higher than the mailed promo, assuming it was for 150mbps, I agreed. As it was applied to my account sales associate realized it was only 30mbps. Best she could do after that for the 150mbps was $25 more than promo I had in hand for half the amount of time, without the free advertised router and with a contract (promo was no contract). Turned that down and she said well at least we got you to 30mbps! For $5 more (at only 30mbps) than my promo advertised for the 150mbps and $20 more than the plan I had walking into the store. I dont feel like I gained anything. Im unable to go back to that first plan and deal I had, even called in once getting home to request so. Unable. At least Cox has a 30day guarantee. We have only had service for 1 week as we are new to the area. I am unimpressed with phone and in person customer service. Will be canceling our service tomorrow.

Wow, cable guy goes out to check cable line to our apartment, comes back in says theres a squirrel nest in the box so he cant do anything till animal control comes and removes the nest. Are you kidding me. Its been 4 days of nothing but excuses from this company (Cox Cable). This is absolutely the worst company we have ever had. Today is their last chance to get it right. Edit: Im changing from one star to two because I have nothing negative to say about the specific Hampton roads Cox location. Negative review is for Cox as a company, which overcharges for inferior product.I currently have Verizon for high speed internet and love it. Unfortunately the area were moving to near Buckroe beach has no service provider other than Cox. With Verizon we: 1) had our installation fee waived when we started our service. Cox is charging us $20 to turn on our internet. 2) had higher internet speed for a lower cost 3) were able to pay month to month with no penalty. Cox punishes you for not choosing a contract.Choose Verizon if you have the option.
I hate this monopolizing company. All they do is swindle their customers. Have them paying for programs they really dont need just because they bundle their programs stupidly. I watch two channels yet have to purchase the second highest package to enjoy then both? Over $80 just for internet? Then they tell me I would save money if I bundled with other services but then I actually spend more? Yeah....I pray some other company comes to my area to put them out of business.

After going through the stress of moving across the country, this location was great to close out our internet services. Its been stressful with the move and all, then dreading the trip to go wait in line for 2 hours just to have someone try to convince you to keep the service just adds to the plate. (This is my last experience at Comcast). Anyways, I walk in to the Solution Store, handed the service rep who walked up to greet me my box of gear, waited about a minute while he cancelled my service, and then it was done! I didnt even spend 5 minutes in the place and the people were incredibly friendly! I hope I can find a place like after I move, but realistically this is probably the only place in the world as awesome as it is.
My partner, he came home empty handed after being told some bad information. But when I returned with him the job went much smoother and the services provided work perfectly.What I REALLY did not appreciate (other then the poor initial service) is, that there was not a note on the broken sign-in pad by the main door. Let customers know if it is broken and what to do!Being that most stores do not have an electronic waiting list we sat down and wated for an available teller ignoring the blank i-pad. All of the employees had seen us enter and nodded with a smile. After we saw someone who walked in significantly after us being served, we noticed a 3rd person by the oddly placed back door sign-in.We ended up waiting for several customers who arrived after us and waited till they called our name in order. In my opinion, the staff is, while very polite, also VERY dysfunctional.Cox services are good but go to a different store.

Verizon is doing everything (and I mean nothing to support the service...) to get rid of all their DSL Internet users. I checked out Cox since I had DSL and Verizon had not fixed it on two weeks. The office was well appointed and the staff looked professional and acted that way. However, Verizon offered me a much better deal than Cox. However, if Verizon FiOS is up to their promise, Ill happily go to Cox...

If i could give cox a 0 star rating i really would. this location i have been lied to multiple times. had my services disconnected as their idiots click the wrong buttons and deleted my hardware. recently went it to try and get my internet speed increased, the guy was so helpful he said he was taking care of me and doubled my price like i got the upgrade but didnt bother to upgrade my service. so i have been paying double for the services.if you have any option other than cox go for it these people are the worst. their infrastructure is falling apart and they dont seem to invest their high rates into improvements.
So went to return the cable box after having my service terminated. Instead of being simple drop and return, they force you to wait and talk with a service rep until they take back their equipment...needless to say 2 hours later my name was called...huge waste of my time...Cox i think its time to rethink this process!
For the past 5 days the tech people via phone have been telling me my tv doesnt work because of a national outage for my type of Contour 2 box. I took it to this store to exchange it for the black mini box. The store people told me theres no national outrage, or they would surely know about it. They convinced me to try the new Contour Legacy box, and also gave me a new modem to replace my current one. When i came home, my whole system isnt working... plugged in the new modem...nada...i called and they said it was an outrage in my area... supposed to be fixed by 12:45 in the morning. Ive been a customer for 28 years. Cox is severely messing up... their rep was blaming the FCC. I hope Verizons FIOS comes to my area soon. Im sitting here with no cable tv, no internet, and tons of online work to do. Right now, one star is too generous.

Absolutely the poorest customer service Ive ever received. The store manager at the Hampton, VA PTC had the most disrespectful, dismissing, condescending attitude. All I got out of him was he cant help me and that hes already wasted an hour helping me.
Not good. Way over priced and poor service. We rent or house and had to pay the previous renters balance to get service turned on. Also the tv cuts in and out all the time as if it was a dish on the house and not cable. Overall we only use them because they are the ONLY option in Hampton where we live. if something else becomes available I will switch immediately!!

Trying to reach the store. Dial 1, instead, I get told to call the main Cox phone number for customer service. Dial 2, I get transferred to a Cox contractor. Dial 0 and it repeats the same menu over and over. Can never get through to speak to someone directly at the Cox Solutions Store. Glad we cancelled our service. :(

I was told on the phone by a Cox representative when I added bundled service that if I decided I didnt need the bundle deal that I could downgrade to internet and still get the promotional internet price. This was a lie. I shouldnt have to pay $80/month for internet when online you are advertising it for $30/month. I am thoroughly disappointed and cancelling all services with you. Ill be sure to let all my friends know not to use Cox as well.
We just moved into a new apartment. We had 100mpbs at the last place we were staying at. It was extremely slow. We decided to upgrade the new service to 300mpbs. In order to do so we needed a modem compatible with Cox and their speeds. After researching online we came across a NetgearAC1900 model c6300bd. All the reviews online said it was capable of over 300mpbs and it was even purchased from Cox a year ago with a docsis 3.0. We decided to reach out to the technical support before we made the purchase and Taylor from Cox answered our question. We gave him all the details of the modem and he assured us it would work. We purchased it and called to set it up. Come to find out, the technical guy on the line said it wasnt compatible and we hung up to try again in case he was wrong. The second time we called it was the same thing. The modem was only capable of 100 mpbs. So we just wasted $100 on a modem that doesnt even work with the speeds we want. Dont trust Cox and their services! Will never move to another place where I have to rely on Cox Communications for internet services again!
I did not buy anything. Paying the bill electronically is ideal. Dont see the crowds any more. You are in & out in less than five minutes.

The worst service ever. Most of the time the internet is either down or slow as snails. Then they tell you, you need a protection plan Its time for a change. this is how they treat a 25 year customer.

Coxs internet service (atleast in Hampton Roads) has been terrible. Their servers have gone out, atleast a dozen times since we switched over to them. My family originally had Fios. But we switched to Cox, because we moved and it is the only thing available in our area. For the prices which we are paying for their internet, phone, and t.v., Fios had all of that for $30 cheaper, from which we are paying to Cox. Needless to say, if you are reading this and have Fios available in your area, go with Fios. Cox has a bunch of issues and charges more for less than that of Verizon Fios.

Took me 30 minutes to return equipment.
I walked in needing a replacement router. by the time I left I was offered a discount program I wasnt qualified for, told they didnt have a matching replacement router and made to wait for a long while, while my 10yr old was waiting. I was not happy with the service and to top it off the replacement part I did recieve is defective. So i hve to go back AGAIN to fix the problem.
