Back again for my weekly haircut. Gets me right every time man. The professionalism and cleanliness of the shop alone makes every visit worth it. But as for the skills of the barbers amazing man it’s at a whole other level. Ever come into a barbershop with a haircut in mind but gets it even better than u imagined? Yea this place does that for real. I recommend everyone to come get their cut over here man because you’ll get the satisfaction and haircut just as desired.

Went and gentleman was not there, the person that was there messaged him, we waited 20 minutes still no show, left my phone number never received a response, still havent over a week later.

Im new to the area and was looking for a new barbershop for my son. I chose this location based on reviews and photos from previous customers. I am beyond satisfied with the outcome and excited i made the right choice. His haircut exceeded my expectations. This will be our new permanent location from here on out.

If you are an older mature person, I would definitely steer clear of this barbershop. Overall, the entire experience was of low quality. Here are some issues that are troublesome:1. The building is very difficult to locate! This is due in part to not having any proper signage on the building itself. In fact, the name on the building does not match the name of the advertised barbershop (at the time of this review).2. Upon entering the building you are greeted by an (poorly lit and unkept) empty reception area. To left is a dark hallway, while to the right is an opening leading to the actual barbershop.3. Once you enter the actual barbershop area, no one greets you. Even though their not with any clients. They’re just sitting in their own barber’s chair on their phones.4. When/if you do manage to get someone’s attention, you will get something mumbled to you that no adult would barely hear. Thankfully, they do manage to point you to a back room waiting area. However, I honestly felt this was a sketchy place to be. Think of the back room barbershop scene in the movie Carlito’s Way, and you will know exactly what I’m talking about.5. The individual that cut my hair (Khalif) is very unprofessional. The way he talks to customers is very condescending. Again, I honestly believe this could be an age/maturity related problem. As you will see in the related reviews, customers will comment “his attitude is something you have to get use to.” However, how can one get use to being treated in a rude and unprofessional manner?6. Overall, the actual haircut was good enough for what I paid (thankfully, as I wasn’t given a mirror to examine my haircut while there in the chair). However, it was not worth the drive and unpleasant experience in my opinion.If you are an older/mature individual, I would honestly go somewhere else. I really wanted to make this my permanent barbershop (due to them taking appointments), however, I will have to look elsewhere.

This was my first time coming to this barber shop. The environment was great, and we engaged in great conversation throughout the entire haircut. I highly recommend Explicit Kutz to anyone who needs a great haircut and a great time!

I have definitely found a good reliable go to barber. The man real knows what he is doing with the clippers and also has no problem engaging in conversation that will keep you entertained throughout the duration of the cut. I would highly recommend this place and the experience was wonderful to say the least.

I came in to get a haircut before a big day and i normally get a haircut once a month because haircut are almost $40 and i don’t like line ups because most barbers have the tendency to push back. i’ve loved his service the past few times i came to him because i trusted him then he pushed me back and messed up my corners on my hairline to the point where i’m ready to just start cutting my own hair again because i’m just over barbers, and i do a better job because i don’t push my self back i have waves. You can’t push a line up back when a client has waves it’s too noticeable. I feel as if he messed up my line up because by 2 weeks i’m now looking extremely ruff which would force me to have to go get another haircut but i refuse😡. Completely MESSED UP HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED😡

I remember seeing this barber when I moved back to the 757. The cust was excellent and my only regret was that I had to move back to RIchmond temporarily. As soon as I come back, I will be looking to book with him again. Excellent cut, and he runs HIS BUSINESS the way HE wants to.Respect the process.

So my man was using a hair cut spot in Norfolk for 2 years and his last two cuts was really, really bad. The fade was uneven and edge up wasn’t even the same height on both temples.He was really disappointed and hurt. We tried another place closer and the barber did not accept appointments after 3. He then was desperate to get a cut and just go back to Norfolk.I looked online and found Explicit Kuts. I looked over the google pics and reviews. I almost decided to go elsewhere because of the negative review and the barber responding about same day appointments. The google pictures help with my decision to go here.I booked the appointment and paid online, the appointment changed on the barber’s end. I called to confirm the new time. The barber hilariously struggled to be professional and honest and nice because we booked the lasted possible appointment and he didn’t have anything before that and he would just have to wait around for us since he takes appointments only. Understandable and so we agreed.When I saw the cut, it was totally worth the appointment only, paying online, the appointment change, the wait, everything. The barber is human like every one else. The bad review he has is a learning experience.I’m really glad my boyfriend is happy with his cut, definitely repeat customers.Thanks man, we really appreciate it.

Ive been getting my hair cut at Explicit Kutz for a long time. Seeing somebody leave a bad review for Khalif is really disappointing because the man really does run a TOP NOTCH shop. He is an EXCEPTIONAL barber that gives me a sharp cut every single week CONSISTENTLY. Hes NEVER once messed my hair up. Make your appointment, show up on time, you will never be displeased!

It hurts me to leave this review I went to this shop twice prior not much to complain about but both times I was getting my head talked off about not being early or being late, then I go online it’s talking about a cancellation fee for being late or no call no show with that said I booked a 930 am appointment on Valentine’s Day when I arrived at 928 cause I didn’t want to be too early the 9am appointment is sitting outside. He had been ringing the doorbell and calling the number on The website he stated for 30 mins so I decide to sit out there with him mind you he now has been out there 45 mins and me 15 not once did we get a callback a I am running late text or email. Basically we felt we were being treated like our time and money weren’t good enough but with me my time is more then money I woke up on my day off and he didn’t even have the courtesy to tell us he was cancelling or going to be late I don’t care how nice you are with the clippers bad business and inconsideration Is corny. You cant be so pressed with people being too early or late and you full fledge cancelled without a word.

Was very rude on the phone and self-absorbed cancelled my appointment to no avail when nobody was even at this man shop. I grow tired of Barber’s like this I think they are more important than they actually are. Customer service was HORRIBLE .His shop is in the middle of no where and looks terrible. His work is sub par at best And he rushes through cards just to make the money moves to the next booking. I would not recommend never going to this person he cut one of my family’s hair and did a terrible job

This guy acts as if he’s too busy to answer the phone! I arrived ten minutes early(I drove 35 minutes) went to the door, rang the bell, called his phone multiple times with no answer. He’s rude as hell with his attitude you would think he was a celebrity barber. Don’t waste your time.

A trendy, edgy barber shop that provides a user friendly experience that is tailored to the individual. The atmosphere is laid back and easy going. Khalif is a perfectionist and is on the cutting edge of his profession. Its definitely worth a try. Be careful though. The Khalif haircut is like a Lays potato chip...you cant get just one.

This place is fantastic! Kalif is friendly and knowledgeable. My son went from hair to his waist to a beautiful fade- Im happy that Kalif was part of our family experience- well be coming back now for regular maintenance.
