Went to Golden Corral for lunch. Lots and lots of different food to select from. Anything from freshly grilled steak, meat loaf, sliced turkey, large butterfly shrimp, pizza, breakfast and all the side fixings. Plus a large salad and desert bar. Fountain of chocolate and freshly made dinner rolls. Walked out of there happily stuffed. You will be pleased also.

Love this place. The food is awesome and the management have great service. The price is reasonable.

I love me some greens but they need more seasoning and should be cooked thoroughly . The shrimp, fish, mac & cheese were great. Chesapeake, Greenbriar location still have Hampton beat.

Took my great niece there after going to a movie. She liked being able to fix her own plate. I like being able to get good food that shell eat. When we got there they was just transitioning from breakfast to lunch. So we had a choice of both. Everything was fresh, hot & delicious.

Very clean, everyone is helpful and so nice...and the food was very good, with a wide verity.

Normally the food is kept fresh but not this time. We went in around 3 and the food appeared to have been out for quite awhile. However the pot roast was delicious even though the mashed potatoes were not hot. As we were leaving I saw them putting out food for dinner.

I am NOT a buffet fan, and only went to this one to inexpensively feed an incessantly hungry teenager. While there for dinner, I was impressed by the wide variety of options and the quality of the selections. At breakfast, I enjoyed the best blueberry pancakes Ive ever tasted.The omelet and Belgian waffle stations were quite popular.This particular location seems to have overcome the perpetual buffet challenge of keeping the food warm. Just about everything was at a comfortably appropriate temperature. A great choice.

Great food. Vegan options galore!! My family and I went here after my nephews graduation and the staff was incredibly helpful. We came in with a big group and we were accommodated. The staff really catered to us. Awesome customer service!!

Visiting family and was near our hotel. Seems to have lost its level of quality in food from previous years. Convenient but not a must stop.

We had a large hungry group and wanted something quick but. It fast food with lots of variety for all the different people. Yes, there were a lot of choices but almost none of them were very good. Guess you just can’t get good food on a buffet. The steak, freshly cooked, was very good. The place was dirty but our server was pretty good.

Golden Corral is a good buffet spot! They gave their stores a fresh look. At one point it was to dengue to eat there, but now! New menu and new look! It is still one of the faithful food spots to go too!

My family visited from South Carolina and I decided to bring them to the Hampton Golden Corral on Saturday 6/29/2019 at 7:42pm for dinner. We paid and went to a section we felt was big enough for our family. There was a very rude employee there who was visibly upset that I set in that section. She stated to me, “I’m trying to clean my section”. We continued to seat ourselves and soon realized that the Air Conditioning unit for the restaurant was not working. The restaurant got so hot, that it was impossible to stay and enjoy my dinner. I left and set in the car while my family attempted to finish their dinner. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The heat inside the dining room is absolutely unacceptable and this restaurant shouldn’t be open until the Air Conditioner is fixed and working properly. I feel bad for the employees and understand now why they all look miserable and are rude to the customers.

Our business meeting went very well, great place to have a meeting. Missy, our wait staff, was pleasant and helpful without being intrusive. The restaurant clean and well supplied. I would recommend this place to others.

Last visit (3/2018), everything was overly salty, including manager. Got first plate, food was inedible. Manager offered half price on our drinks on next visit (there were 4 of us, 2 got water). Next week we went to Golden Corral at Chesapeake Square. A+ food, A+ service! Have not and will not go back to Hampton location. Been to Chesapeake Square location 5+ times since, each time absolutely perfect!

Clean and great options. Employees can show a little more enthusiasm when working with the public, especially when you are th cashier. Waitress was not as attentive as I would like. Over all we all enjoyed ourselves.

Food is okay. Good for a cheap family meal with kids. We went thinking that for kids it would be $0.99 but it was $1.99. Not a big deal but the commercial advertised $0.99. When we asked, they said that the $0.99 was a corporate offer and independent places could charge more. Also when we went they didnt have any central air on one side.

Always a great place to grab a bite. Friendly waitresses and a great selections of food to eat. So go and chow down as much as you like.

The staff was very professional and knowledgeable about their own business. The food was good and the service was very good. The wide variety of cuisine was seasoned to perfection. My hats off to the chefs and cheffettes.

Good job all in all. I think always try. Sometimes it has to be hard to keep food as fresh as wed like it to be. But it is a buffet. Im a tough critic so 4 stars is a food number for me.

This place isnt that bad. They really take care of and show appreciation to Veterans. I would have rated it higher but there was an issue on Veterans Day that caused the power to go out and it instantly bought out some bad attitudes in some staff but not all. We had to evacuate and thank God I already ate my fill but they were still letting people in even after the power went out and some folks paid. They made them leave without compensating them and were yelling unnecessarily at people trying to get answers to their questions.Situation could have been handled better.

We had a great dining experience!!! The food was delicious, the hot foods were hot (like theyre supposed to be). The waitress was very friendly and efficient. You can tell that the staff take pride in their work. We definitely will be back the next time were in town.

I havent been to Golden Corral in a long while and decided to go today for lunch. The food isnt what it used to be. Everything was greasy and dried out. I was not impressed for $11.99. I wont go back. Ginnys in Newport News has the best country food. Its all home made!

Service was great, very friendly and attentive staff. We were there pretty late so some of the food was not available or had been sitting for a while. Overall it was a good experience.

Zero stars for the roach on the buffet from near the Mac and cheese. Although our stomachs are churning from the mere thought of eating from a roach infested establishment that you can see makes me ill. But no big deal the waitress and the manager were gracious enough to promptly give me a refund. Hope everyone else enjoys their roaches. Happy eating!

Service was great, the lemonade that is given at the cash register is sour and bland. Get the lemonade at the juice bar that the waitress gives you. That is the best lemonade Ive ever had. My dinner for today was Aunt Bs fried chicken, sesame chicken and burbon chicken, absolutely delicious, very flavorful, juicy, tender and crispy. The macaroni and cheese needs work my grandma old school Mac and cheese is 10 times more delicious.

Will always go there when in Hampton, Va. Two ladies in particular were so nice. They really made all the guest fill welcomed. They are keepers. Food was tasty to.

Precisely as expected. It was delicious and filling. Fond of the cotton candy, personally. The server kept our drinks filled and removed our empty plates promptly, even though the restaurant was busy. Great service. The only downside was that it was crowded.

My dad didnt want a lot of fuss of cooking for Thanksgiving. So I decided to get a to go plate. Lines were long but we actually got through in less than ten to fifteen minutes. It would have been quicker but didnt you could skip the line and get a to go container. The lady making drinks was kind enough to tell me and my friend about this policy. All the food looked really good and cooks were obviously tired but cheerful. Cashiers were young and full of energy despite the crowds. My father was really satisfied with the food quality when I returned home. This was a great experience despite being last minute.

Its become a regular for me in the hometown after weighing competitors and Im a vegetarian - extreme veggie omelette and fruits are my main course.

It was pretty good, and the waiters were also nice. They had a wide range of food and great service. I would recommend this place.

I am not really a huge buffet fan, but they are nice to hit up every now and then, especially when you just cant make up your mind what you you...you can have a little bit of everything. When we do go, we never have an issue with Golden Corral, they buffet is always stocked and everything always tastes fresh.

Food was good and our server was on point. She was very courteous making sure we needed everything, always coming back to check on our table. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Went for take out the salad bar was neat and fresh very well stocked the manager fried fish so we got a fresh hot batch and the grill chef offered a taste of the smoked turkey it was delicious! THANK YOU for such great service!

The ribs and steak where dry. Of course it was a hour before closing but they had very little food that was decent to pick from. The only good thing was the table waitress. I almost fell on something slick on the floor twisting my back and manger showed no concern. Any other person would had carried this to to a professional

Customer service was sub par. Dont try and tell them that food got undercooked, theyll tell you its supposed to be that way. Im sorry, but since when has pink meat been the way fried chicken is supposed to be? And no, grilled chicken doesnt mean that its supposed to be bleeding when I bite in. The eggs were runny, the bacon floppy. I mean, maybe I went on the wrong day, but it seemed like the cook was more worried about keeping food on the bar than making sure it was safe to serve

Golden Corral buffet & Grill is one of my favorite places. My wife and I and daughter love that place. They are so friendly and services is great!!!

I look over the fried chicken and greens( not the collards the others) cabbage on point and fried okra. Salad bar excellent. Only complaint was some desserts...the strawberries were shriveled and dark, and cake was extremely dry. Asked thee attendant for tongs and he waved me off like I was bothering him. Desserts area couldve been tidier and better customer relations, everything and everyone else was great.

The catfish was hot, great. HOWEVER THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH COOKED. I had to wait 15 minutes. By that time more people are waiting. But fish was good.

This restaurant is always very clean and has a friendly wait staff. The food is excellent. The salad and dessert bars are fresh and wholesome. This Golden Corral is consistently good!

Was in and out food was decent. I couldnt indulge too much because Im staying lean for the summer. Love the cookies and rolls

Nov 2019 update:Same matted carpets from a couple of years ago. The fried chicken and bourbon chicken used to be the crowning achievement of Golden Corral. Now the fried chicken is less than mediocre and the bourbon chicken does not resemble an edible item. See photo! Seafood salad looked strange enough to where I stopped myself from even trying it. There was NO yeast rolls available the entire time I was there, about 30 minutes in the middle of Saturday lunch. The table service was odd. Nothing was cleared from my table until I was ready to leave, no refills offered. I paid just over $13, was not worth it. Will consider returning in another year to update.

I went Friday and the food is good depending on what you get. There are plenty of options for a variety of taste. The bad side was the bakery. I did not get to get my favorite, the bread pudding. I asked and she said to wait and it will be out. I waited for a while. I left after waiting for a long time. As I left we looked and still no bread pudding or cobblers brought out. She was slowly doing everything else. I even heard others asking. They may need to add more people to help. Buffet is suppose to be kept refreshed ans not have to wait a hour for desert.

Pretty good. Not the best golden corral ive been to. The hibachi cook was needing a break. Steak was spot on my first plate, but the second steak was equivalent to chewing a leather boot

Was tempted to go Gordan Ramsey on this establishment. Textures of the food were all wrong, seemed old, lacked flavor. $35 worth of McDonalds would have made me happier. ));

Had not been there in about 4yrs. On this date March 3, 2019 I got TREATED there by one of the Church members ( Random of Kindness ) I enjoyed & had a phenomenal time FOOD was DELICIOUS & the musical( Acappella) GOSPEL Group performance was Phenomenal & then to TOP the evening off there was a group of about 10 people sitting right @ US & the minister was also speaking the Uncompromising word of GOD to them & because we were listening in agreement, the minister asked us if we would like to join them in prayer. The EVENING @ GOLDEN CORRAL IN HAMPTON VA. WAS THE ADDED BLESSING TO THE EVENING. GOD IS MOVING . WILL VISIT AGAIN. THANK YOU GOLDEN CORRAL. 😍🙆‍♂️

I was surprised at how good this food was! It was fresh. No after taste! Steak cooked perfectly medium. Decent waitress. I complimented their new kitchen manager on how well the food tasted. He had the kitchen make a fresh corn pudding....man!!!! It was so good I swore they had somebodys Auntie chained to a stove!!! Well definitely be back! Is my daughters favorite apparently lol.

Good experience @ about 2:30pm. Attentive table staff who refilled our drinks and cleared and cleaned table between our trips to buffet. Everything we ate was fresh except a pancake I got was a bit old, but staff noticed and put more on to cook. Managers were visible out front in the restaurant, hustling to make sure food and restaurant looked good. I like this time of day, not too crowded yet.

First, the line entering was very long, and there was no one to help the cashier. She called for assistance and it took them very long to come help her. Then the food was awful as well. The meats (steak and ribs) where burned to the point of being inedible. Also the foods where mislabeled. The floor and tables where dirty and we didnt get silverware when we arrived.The only positive was that our waitress was very courteous. I also called the manager about our poor experience and he said he would not give a refund or voucher for another day, because I did not report it that night. I could not find a manager that night however. Very poor customer service and experience. I did not want to complain or give this restaurant bad ratings online, however, they did nothing to make amends for their poor service.

Great food, great presentation of it all. Nothing looked old, finished items came back quickly. One of the better ones I have been too. Only cons, our waitress wasnt the greatest, and I found the bathroom to be below par in cleanliness. Otherwise, would totally recommend to others.

Great variety of foods from fresh salad to fresh made yeast breads and desserts, with professional servers...always checked to see if I needed anything throughout the meal. Ayavia not only suggested coffee at the end of the meal but brought it to me. I recommend GC for families or other groups. A good place to dine and have conversation...take your time.

Good place to dine for all you can eat! But theres only one place I prefer over Golden Corral which is Wood Grill in Harrisonburg Va. or Charlottesville Va. To me the food is better at Wood Grill. Blessings!

Food was good but not impressed with options. However my server took the time to make a plate for my daughter. Some of the best customer service I have seen in a while. Cant remember her name but keep up the good work and well keep eating there just to get her service.

It saddens me to have to leave this review, but my husband and I finding our seats and were informed that the AC in the section we wanted to sit in was broken. That was fine with us and sat there anyway. Now after only having one plate a piece I unfortunately noticed a roach on the wall. My stomach immediately turned and we left. So really it was a waste of money and we will NEVER go back to that location.

I have noticed an improvement in the quality of the meats used by Golden Corral, while they were good in the past theyre great now.

Initially I gave a two star review because the staff at this location was nice. After the response to that review, I decided to change it to one star. When me and my family went to this Golden Corral there was a large water bug(roach) on the salad bar. The manager tried to kill it until someone mentioned that it wasnt a good idea because the bug could run into the food. 3 minutes later the manager came back with a can of raid. I do not know what happened after that, but no attempt to apologize or compensate us for our meals where made as we left the establishment. I did contact the golden golden coral website but still have not received any response. Needless to say I will not be going back to this Golden Coral and I would recommend no one else does.

Had a great dining experience. The food was great. They had butterfly shrimps that were very large and good. The service was good expecially the manager, who checked on us. You will enjoy this location.

Ate at this location for the first time and the seasoning was a little off. The pot roast (which is my fav) wasnt cooked enough. The vegetables in it was still extra crunchy. Fried chicken was good as well as the fried fish pieces. The Cesar salad dressing was too thick to come off the serving spoon. Also witnessed the employee (working behind the salad buffet) put a fallen lemon back into the serving container. It had been actually laying on the bar because someone dropped it. Made me wonder what else did she do that to?

The employees was courteous and the service was great. The food itself was great and i would recommend the baked fish(tilapia)if youre a seafood lover.

I was there for late lunch/early dinner. I enjoyed the menu as always. The wait staff are friendly and usually up for small talk. The cash register people arent as friendly. Hardly smile, dont say welcome. So, I get through the entry as quickly as possible.

I havent been here in a long time but now I know why. We were never greeted by our waitress. The food was cold as ice and the food had no flavor what so ever. This was once my favorite place to go but not any more. The worse $50 Ive ever spent in my life.

Went out for my Husband Birthday and it was a complete disaster. Our food was extremely old everything needed to be replenish. The salad bar lady gave me a difficult time about replacing the lemons. Cross Contamination all across the board from the hot foods to the salad bar. Our waitress however was a Blessing she was Awesome, Shamica was her name she was on point. I hope she lands a new job because this location needs to be closed down or have some type of training.Never again, the Hampton location is the worst.

Ms.Miller had nasty attitude when I was trying to communicate with her over the phone. I had to call back repeatedly because she kept hanging up the phone. When she finally did answer her attitude was unexceptable and disrespectful.

Went to the Hampton Golden Corral for my birthday on March 8th the bill came to $34 for two people with two drinks yes. Got to the bar and started putting my food on the plate got over to where the shrimps were and there was a roach just aimlessly walking around. I had to let the person know behind the grill cooking the steak that there was a roach and there were customers right there. He could really understand me. So I had to let somebody else know a manager know that there was a roach They ended up giving me my money back and I went to Hooters

The food is still worth the money but some of the wait staff and management needs to be retrained or straight out fired. Twice, I have experienced poor customer service with two different groups. Both times, our request for the private room was not in the book. The manager each time seemed so unconcerned and almost angry that we were so insistent and persistent. No one smiles, greets you or seems glad to have you spend your money to dine there. Its just a paycheck for some; not all. Both times, people were almost lined up out the door with only one slow, unconcerned cashier with an attitude. Last visit, the other register finally opened. My first, no. They know or should know the busiest hours and be prepared for the rush. Someone keeps dropping the ball. Ill save my money and avoid conflict, aggravation and attitude by eating some place else where I can enjoy my meal without indigestion and smile.

Terrible wait staff. We were handed out silverware and had to ask the waitress for our drinks since no one came over to our table. All the food tasted like great value frozen food. The steaks were all premade and literally served to us cold. Definitely not worth $13.99 a person.

Its hard to get chicken wings with the Fried Chicken there mostly they have are large breasts and thighs for fried chicken when my family go. The rest of the food is good

Thats a pretty good breakfast buffet situation. The food is usually excellent if you get to it right after they put it out. They need to Omelette chefs because the line gets so long.

Will never come here again. There was a ROACH crawling on my table. I killed it and showed it to the manager and all he said is that they do the best they can with keeping them down. Never offered my money back but offered me a coupon. I told him I lived in WVA, so his basic response was SORRY. NEVER AGAIN

I really like this restaurant and in my personal opinion I think that they could use a little more square footage to accommodate the crowds. My wife and I went yesterday for dinner and everything we ate was delicious!Also I love the fact that its located in Coliseum Central.

I will most definitely be returning! Its been years since the last time Ive eaten at a Golden Corral and this one was Great! The food options were good, everything was hot and fresh. The managers were on top of things. The female Employees that were working behind the food areas were rude as usual. But overall very good food!

Eric M the cashier went yesterday on4/25 his customer service skills are on 0 ..No type of greeting, didnt ask what will you all like to drink we were waiting for him to ask, so we just told him.. Then I tell him we was paying separate he still put the bill together..No smile didnt feel welcomed..Then the food was dry, not enough coming out on time..Just need to put me in the kitchen or prep salad area, workers need to check the food often for refills etc everyone shouldnt be at the back all at once..
